There are 2 quality professional nail technicians at this location and I made a huge mistake not requesting one. I just got the worst mani-pedi of my life. I went in with natural long nails that needed a trim/file/clean up and came home with nails cut and filed to the quick. It was too late by the time the inexperienced tech had cut off 2 nails. The guys that runs the spa is so rude that I didnt feel comfortable saying anything - he had already rolled his eyes and made comments to the tech in their language after I said twice that I didn't want gel. I came in for a pedicure and a refill on my SNS tip nails. The girl doing my nails asked if I wanted them any shorter and I said just a little bit she cut them much shorter than I wanted so I asked her if we could do it longer. From that point she had an attitude towards me the whole time. I could see her roll her eyes anytime I asked her to change the shape or length. I ended up leaving with nails that are way longer than what I wanted and one hand longer than the other because I felt uncomfortable asking her to change it again. The men that worked there kept making odd comments like the guy that did my pedicure saw a tattoo that I have on my ankle and said "nice choice you know that's on you forever." another man said "your nails are so long. I came in at 4:00 pm there were 6 customers being helped. I was seated and my feet sat in cold water. The nail tech I think either had a cold or influenza. Today was a first for me, I actually screamed out in pain as my toes were being clipped. This lady was either blind or just didn't care about being there. I do not recommend this establishment. I got my nails done here 04/03. By 04/05 i had already broken a nail. I came back on Monday and offered to pay to get it fixed. They let me leave without shaping or curing the gel polish on my nail. First time at the new Sea Star, and I am really impressed. It's beautiful and clean. They immediately offered a glass of wine which is always a good sign. The pedicure was really good, but they are definitely trying to upsell, upsell. I went with the $65 most expensive pedicure and they still wanted to convince me to do the paraffin and gel! I was pressured into doing the $65 pedicure and really didn't like the continued sales tactics. The other thing that bothered me was an employee chilling in the pedicure chair watching videos etc on his phone with no headphones. I want to relax at the spa and that doesn't help with relaxation. It also seems very unprofessional. I do really love the new look and the pedicure, but I think I'll go back to my tried and true favorite nail salon where I can enjoy my wine, not be pressured and still get a good pedicure in peace. read more

The guy doing my nails did an okay job, but rushed me to go dry at the drying station so he could start on another customer. I asked him to fix the top coat and shape my nail and he came over to the drying station to finish rather than doing it with the rest of my nails. Then he slapped a bunch of oil on my fingers and told me to rub it in. I felt like the least important person in the salon. Love my colorful French tips. I got gel nails and Lee did a very nice job I think! They handled my mani pedi with care and did not cut me when filing or trimming. (Some places leave you raw!) Worst manicure I've ever received Try to work out a solution with the manager, and there was no compromise. He would not fix my nails unless I came in one by one for each chipped nail. I think they're mixing something in with their gel polish to make it last longer. They put it on way too thick my manicure that I paid $80 for lasted about 20 hours. The staff is not welcoming. My last visit caused my cuticles to peel so much and I have bruises on my legs from how hard she massaged them during the pedi. I had to ask her to stop. They rushed my service and did not listen to me. My nail cracked a day later. I returned to get it fixed and they did not want to repair it. Not a single apology. If I could give zero stars I would. First few months of going here the service was wonderful. Beautiful, clean, & they did a great job on Mani & Pedi. Then the last two times they did my mani while I was getting a pedicure which was not only extremely awkward & inconvenient for me, it robbed me of my time to relax & unwind (and yes I asked them not to). These last two times, they cut both my fingers and toes and proceeded to spray alcohol over the cuts. The last time I went was actually THE last time I will ever go, there were a group of female workers sitting at the end of the row in pedicure chairs making fun of my daughter asking her if she wanted a haircut and asking her if she wanted her eyebrows done and laughing at her. This place used to be our go-to, but our experience today was really lacking. We sprung for the $37 "Number 3" pedicure because we wanted to make sure we got good foot massages. The guy literally never touched the bottom of my feet except to half-heartedly scrub at my calluses. Neither my mom or myself got any kind of foot massage, they spent the whole time just rubbing up and down our shins. When all was said and done and we asked one of the techs about the foot massage, she informed us that we would need to pay extra - $15 for a 10 minute massage. Or upgrade to the "Number 4" pedicure that included the hot stones. You need To spend $50+ on a pedicure just to give the bottom of your feet some TLC? Come on. Underwhelming to say the least - especially for the price! There is a lot of competition around - take your business elsewhere. read more
