The cut was great as my daughter went from hair down to her waist to a bob cut. The reason I give a rating of 2 is because the whole reason my daughter was getting her hair cut was she decided to donate her hair to cancer patients. They offered to take care of sending the hair for us.....they lost it and did nothing to compensate my daughter who was devastated. read more

Five stars for accommodating us last minute. This late review is from our last month's experience. I was running late from work as I had to travel all the way to Whitby and I yelped for the nearest salon with positive reviews and Lavish came up. It was grad night and almost every girl in town was at this salon getting prettified and was so relieved and lucky enough to get squeezed in by the helpful receptionist over the phone. Very positive vibe and energy from the lovely ladies. Made the experience worth the wait as I watched the other stylists showcase their talents from teasing hair to braid ups and hair extensions. You can also get your make-up done here. The make-up section is right behind the counter space and placed front and center of the salon which accentuates the setting. Too bad we weren't able to get an appointment as the girls were lined up one after the other. My niece ended up getting curls and teased to perfection hair and I'm sure this experience added great memories to her grad night! Perfect gift that got me off the hook as I'm sure I would've just used the flattening iron and hairspray and called it a day. Thanks Lavish!!! read more

I decided to get all my hair cut off- about 8-10 inches. I thought I would try out Lavish and I couldn't be more I love than what I am! Emma, the stylist, did a fantastic job doing my hair and was also extremely friendly! The entire staff was super friendly- I also took notice of how clean the store was and saw the employees cleaning and sanitizing everything touched after customers would leave. 5/5 experience and will for sure be returning! read more

I LOVE MY STYLIST. Seriously. I do. She's fantastic, talented, and wonderful. I love her so much that I don't want to share her name! Oh alright. FINE. Ashleigh. There are you happy? Ashleigh's been doing my hair for 4 years. She gets me. She knows how un-skilled I am with styling so she cuts my hair in styles that even a hair-moron like me can handle. We've gone long to short to pixie. She's done my wedding. She's been there for pre and post pregnancy hair. She's just so good. The people at Lavish are so warm and welcoming. I go there at least every 2 weeks to refresh my pixie cut and they do it for free (it's like a reverse bang trim). They always fit me and they never make me feel like I'm a bother. They know that people are there to relax, be pampered, and feel pretty. So they do their best to cater to those needs - hand massages, scalp massages, slippers when you walk in, beverages, etc. I always feel so good after being here. I have been to this salon previously and my services were good, inconsistent but decent. The last visit was horrible, highlights were non-existant at best, and the haircut was brutal, uneven and about an inch and a half taken off when I asked for a tiny clean up of the ends.... would never recommend this salon or visit again! read more

I heard so many great things about this place so i checked it out after work last monday night. I came in as a walk in wanting to get my brows done last minute. The receptionist Crystal was on the phone and was not giving me eye contact as I was waiting for 10 minutes. I asked if I could use the washroom as I was waiting for her to assist me. As I walked my way to the washroom I over heard some girls , I think salon girls talk about their clients saying how her hair was greasy. I was in shock ! and walked my way back to the receptionist still waiting on crystal to assist me. Crystal didn't even make eye contact with me. I felt so insulted especially over hearing conversations in the washroom than not being assisted.! I am never comming back to Lavish again! worst experience of my life! -Sarah K. read more

I have never had a worse experience at a salon as I did at Lavish Salon & Spa this evening. I went into the salon with hair about 3 inches past my collarbone. I requested from my "stylist"- Brittany- a Long Angled Bob. I showed her a photo of exactly what I wanted. I asked for almost no length to be taken from the front of the hair as to make the cut ANGLED. What I received was a blunt bob reaching my chin. Brittany proceeded to taken approximately 5 inches all around the hair all while my chair was turned away from the mirror so I could not even see the Edward-Scissorhands atrocity she was committing behind my back. Please do not think she was forced to cut so much because my hair was in bad shape- I had gotten it cut at Lavish approximately 8 weeks before and am very good to my hair. I have never in my life been so dissatisfied with a service as I was tonight at Lavish. Also please be aware I gave it '1 star' because the review forces you to. It does not even deserve that. Try your best to steer clear from Lavish just in case but ESPECIALLY STEER CLEAR OF A STYLIST NAMED BRITTANY IF YOU WANT ANY HAIR WHEN YOU COME OUT. read more

Too bad I cannot give it less than one star. I really don't know if they are good at cutting and coloring hair or not. I made an appointment for 6:45, then was contacted a day later by Crystal to change it to 7:15. I arrived today at 7:09 and WAITED for 40 minutes, at which point I left. I have mixed emotions about this place. The service is never consistent. My husband booked me in to have a massage, facial and blow dry for our Halloween night out. I ended up being there for over 3.5 hours, over two hours was spent getting a massage and facial, sounds lovely right? No. The facial was literally just the girl spreading various lotions on my face for what seemed to be an eternity, there was no steam, no exfoliation, no tingle, nothing. The massage was just as lack-lustre, the attendant informed me that they are not RMT's so it's just soft tissue. Fine. She basically just rubbed my whole body down with oils and left them there. I could barely get my pants on after, my face looked just as bad. On to the hair, basic wash and blow dry (and I have FINE hair), the girl proceeded to put my hair in pin curls because I asked for "a little" volume, this probably took her an extra half hour and my hair literally looked the same (possibly worse) as it would if I had a regular blow dry. I have had better service here, but I would absolutely not recommend the spa services. If you don't have qualified staff to do them, then either get your staff qualified or don't offer mediocre services at the same (or higher) price. read more

I would rate zero if I could. I was a long time customer for at least three straight years. I arrived for an appointment and my stylist Lisa took someone else arguing I was late. At another important event in my life they pawned me off to a different stylist after my stylist promised she would do my hair for my husbands funeral. Place is crowded and noisy. They rush processing your hair by shoving you under a dryer. Haven't been for almost two years and my hair now looks better than ever. read more

Hi everyone. I wanted to update my post from earlier where I had an awful first impression of lavish. I was contacted by a very professional salon director 2 days after my initial and frustrated written review. She was understanding, apologetic and very concerned and thanked me for giving her feedback on her staff. I was professional in my retelling of the incident and she treated me with the same respect. She offered me a discount on my next service to entice me to come on back into the salon to give them a chance to redeem themselves. I booked again with Ashleigh for a cut and she was lovely to work with even though did have to wait a month for an appointment. Easy going and frank I loved her style. Cut was solid not fancy but I wanted to try out the salon before committing to come in for a colour. 4 weeks later I booked a colour with Ashleigh. Ashleigh's colour didn't really come out any different from the colour and style I already had so I booked in for it to be toned or re-coloured. The staff was gracious, understanding and didn't make me feel like I was putting them out or being difficult. I had a great experience with Amy who gave me exactly what my vision was but had to be toned a bit more once I saw it in the sunlight. She was amazing explaining that due to the hair colour and treatment that I had before my hair was a bit unpredictable with colour and it makes sense that things had to be done a couple of times to get it right. I was pleased with the service that I received and made it a point to tell the lead person at the salon of how pleased I was and quite impressed with how everything was handled and thanked her for the staff not making me feel awful for not liking my hair. I was typically Canadian apologized for not liking it and asking for it to be toned but they handled it with great professionalism. I will be returning to lavish again with comfort knowing that they will go above and beyond in whatever category to make their clients satisfied. Them being so accommodating is why I will be returning even if we have to do things a few times to get it right. Kudos! read more

I had a great first experience at Lavish. I had my hair coloured and cut by Kelsey (master stylist) and she did a really good job. I loved the added complementary services such as the head massage after my consultation and makeup application following my haircut. Very upset and angry at this place. I made a 12:30 appointment and didn't get treated till about 12:50. I then was treated by a girl (not going to refer to her name). I asked for a lot cut off the top so I can style my hair still, then a short fade/blend on the side, longer at the top then shorter as it makes it way down. I also asked for a part/line between the top and side. I waited in the chair for an hour long (should usually take 20 minutes for my hair) and was disssapointed. I have never seen such a bad haircut on anyone including myself. She made my sideburns in even, she made the back of my hair a complete square however it was not straight, and she did not blend and made my hair look like a bowl cut. She attempted to blend the side of my hair but she basically took a massive chunk out of my hair and was done. Overall she gave me a patchy, messy, uneven haircut that I was really disappointed with. The side of my head is short at the bottom with random long patches of hair along the side of my hair. She did not give me even similar to what I wanted and I had to suffer st school with this "haircut". Also she shampooed my hair and got the entire back of my shirt all soaking wet which I was freezing in when I was outside in negative 1 tempature. read more

I was really disappointed with the service I received today. First my stylists was behind schedule, and did not notify me of this. When I arrived I had to wait and was given to another stylists, whom seem unhappy to do my hair. She tugged and pulled it very hard. My hair was not done the way I wanted it to be done. I was very disappointed with the whole experience. I left unhappy and felt worthless. I always rave about lavish salon. Nice clean looking place, it was packed when I went it. Nice smells in the air. Smiling faces around the hair salon area. HOWEVER.. The services I booked were the Carribean hand and foot treatment for 60$ Plus $15 for Gel nail polish. My attendent was a SUPER sweet lady. So I have no issues with the staff. The receptionist said that special came with a long foot and hand massage, I think she rubbed each foot/hand for about 45 seconds which I thought it was going to be longer. The pedicure station was a stainless steel sink in the floor and a comfy chair. I was expecting a spa/whirlpool footbath. The seaweed wrap was nice but I was left me alone with the wrap on for about 10 minutes ( for each hands and feet) . The towels got cold and I was getting bored. The Gel polish is already wearing off so I will probably have to go get them fixed. I dont think that the services provided to me were worth what I paid. The salon was very nice, the staff was very nice too. I don't think that if you are going for a mani/pedi that this is the place I would go. Looks like a good place for hair or a massage. The massage rooms looked very comfortable. People coming out of the massage rooms looked relaxed and happy. read more

This was my first time here after a long search for a salon. I am so so impressed with this salon and i will recommend this salon to everyone i know. As i work downtown toronto, i have used salons in downtown and not only are they overpriced but dont do a good job. This salon is reasonable and i absolutely loved my hair when i came out of there. I am usually disappointed after i get my hair done, either not happy with colour or cut. LEEANDREA did an amazing job. One thing about this salon that i noticed, is that only person works on your hair. Not 5 people. This is the first salon that i have gone to that one person will take care of you right from the beginning to the end. I am really really impressed by this salon and wish i had found this earlier. Also, they give you a scalp massage and hand massage. AMAZING job and so excited to tell everyone about this place. i forgot to use my 15 dollar off coupon for first time customers, that was the only downfall :( read more
