Complete joke of a system they have at LAX. You have to take a shuttle to where they have taxis and Ubers. Massive line to get into the packed shuttle and then a huge line for taxis/Ubers. Literally takes me over an hour if I'm lucky to get into a taxi/Uber and leave the airport. LAX-it was supposed to improve traffic, but traffic remains terrible plus now we have to deal with this headache to leave the airport. read more

Came in late in the evening, it is about a 15 minute walk from terminal 2. If you take the free shuttle you will go all the way around the airport to pick up other people along the terminals so I decided to walk it. They have different sections for pick up so when you hire your Uber you must confirm the waiting area you are in for example we were in A23. It was fairly easy to catch the Uber, just recommend to hire them a couple of minutes before you get there so you don't have to wait long. read more

My primary issue is getting to the LAX terminal. If you're flying into LAX using the LAX-it is easy. If you're flying out of LAX it's one of life's great nightmares since they closed the two lanes, and dedicated them to shuttles the traffic is an absolute nightmare so my question is can I be dropped off at The LAX-it lot and use the shuttle to get to the terminal to avoid the 30 to 60 minute traffic nightmare? read more

This could be so much better. I tried it last night and it worked out ok, but some things weren't quite right. The buses from the terminal was unmarked but they have people yelling in green vests so you know where to catch it. I got on at terminal 3 and by that time the bus was full, not of people, but of luggage. There should be a designated spot for luggage, which would allow more people to board. This service needs help - some suggestions: 1. Instructions when your board shuttle - today was a hot mess. People wanted to stay with their bags (which I understand) but the instructor wanted people to sit down 2. Have shuttles way more often 3. Do we really need this service? LAX-it is amazing! Not sure why people feel the need to complain about it; this had to be done to make way for the upcoming construction. EMPTY VESSELS quite often make the MOST NOISE After the short walk from the terminal (shuttle buses also run from 7am-2am daily, every 4 mins), I went over to Zones 5-7, which was the designated Lyft pickup area. The Lyft and Uber vehicles were separated by the long line of yellow taxis, which made identifying your area quite easy. Once you request a ride, and the app determines you're at LAX, you're assigned a code. Share this code with your driver, who will verify by entering the code on their app. Once this is done, the driver and car details will appear on your app to verify before you get in, as usual. This really optimizes the process as it gets everyone who needs a ride to the same spot, and you don't have to sit in the LAX "ring of fire" waiting for your driver and waiting to get out. Traffic also seems to have improved a bit; definitely a huge plus at LAX as we wait for the light rail system to be built by 2023 :) let's go LA! read more

At terminal 6, every time all of the buses are almost full and just drive past. We usually end up walking - but it's hot and we have luggage. Today the third one finally stopped and the driver pulled so far up that the people who had just arrived got on. Some of us who had been waiting didn't make it. They need to fix this. LAX-IT is HORRIBLE. Use ANY other airport. LAX is the worst airport in a major city anywhere in the world...and now they have figured out how to make it even worse. You get off a flight and it will take you upwards of 1.5hrs to get out of the airport. I can't stress enough how frustrating and horrible they have this set up right now. If they want to have people seriously consider flying out of any other airport near LAX, then they should keep it how it is. If you want a ride service (Uber/Lyft) you have to find one of the shuttles. You stand in line and hope you can get on one. Is there enough room for luggage? Not really. The bus we eventually got on didn't even have luggage racks. Talk about feeling like sardines in a can... stuffed inside inches from other travelers coughing and sneezing. It was raining the evening we arrived. Raining is an understatement. It hasn't poured that hard at LAX in years: let's call it a downpour that made me feel the 40 days and 40 nights of The Flood were coming again! We were then forced off the bus to go get in more lines. We were required to walk all the way down the isle and then to walk all the way back. Some ass-hat put in very high canopies over the walkways with gave almost zero cover from the rain. If they were closer to the ground, a little gust of wind would make too much of a difference, but they had to be 12-14 feet tall. We were soaked by the time we got to our Uber. Because it was raining and there isn't any cover, the Uber driver didn't want to get out of his vehicle to help with the luggage. Another fail on LAX's part. Plan for inclement weather. Ontario. Had the horrible experience ever. First time flying into LA. After I picked up my luggage, walked out to catch an uber. Uber app didn't allow me to book a cab and gave instructions to walk to the Laxit stop to pick a shuttle which would drop at the place where the taxis and app rides are available. So, dragged my luggage and walked to the green pillar nearby. There was a message about the spot being relocated. So I walked further more to find another green pillar that showed a sign to walk 10mins more for the shuttle. Finally arrived at the spot and hopped into a shuttle that had Laxit sign on it. The driver yelled at me and other people who got onto the bus. It was the wrong shuttle. Driver told us to get the green shuttle. So, we all got out. The mysterious green shuttle arrived after about 10 mins. Checked with the driver if this is the one that will finally get us to the taxi land. Nope! After checking with drivers of few other shuttles that passed by, a shiny long red shuttle showed up and the driver let us in. Are the people here color blind? Why did everyone say to look for the green shuttle?? Finally got to the promised taxi-uber-lyft heaven and my phone decided to die on me. EPIC! There were phone chargers everywhere, but none of them seem to work without an usb. Took a while to figure that out. Found a USB cable and charged my phone. People didn't seem to have trouble finding a taxi or Uber/Lyft cab from the Laxit location. But getting there after multiple long flights and dragging heavy luggage around just seems cruel. Whoever came up with this idea should be featured on epic failures list of all time. I didn't realize that over an hour has passed by since I have arrived and my friends started to worry. They told me to wait there so that they could come and pick me up. So, didn't get the cab after all. read more

Yeah, okay, because of COVID it was so long since I have been to LAX I forgot about this trek looking to catch an Uber after landing. Perhaps the shuttles are new? Maybe the signage is a little better at the Terminal? Otherwise, unless you are following people in front of you, there is hardly any indication you are going in the correct direction. After coming off a long flight with only carry on, walking for ten or so minutes is so much preferred to jumping on a crowded shuttle, but that idea seems to be a complete afterthought for the system they set up. On top of that, unless you really pay attention to the map on the Uber app, there is little to make sense out of the mess they created for what you would think to be a simple setup of queuing in what is mostly a parking lot. Maybe on the third trip I will have this down, but why make this such a tough task? read more

HORRIBLE - NIGHTMARE - PLEASE CHANGE THIS ASAP!! I have lived in LA for 20+ years and pre-Covid flew 10-15 times a year (hundreds of flights in/out LAX). Due to Covid, Thanksgiving 2021 was my first flight since February 2020. Let me tell you - what they've done at LAX is the stupidest thing I've even seen. I've been to airports around the world and NONE have a system this dumb and convoluted - seriously! Whoever made these changes needs to be fired and never allowed to make decisions like this again. After a 5 hour flight, and 25mins to receive my bags, I now have to wait another.... (these times are "best case" scenarios) 15-20mins for a shuttle to arrive 15mins to load the shuttle of bags and passengers 15+ mins for the shuttle to get to drop off zone 15mins to unload shuttle bags and passengers 20mins to catch a cab in extremely long line 15mins (on the cab clock) just to get out of LAX and get to Lincoln Blvd North Question: Does this seem like a better system than just getting your bag and walking outside and catching a cab?? Answer: NO!!!!!!!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO STRESSED AFTER A TRIP AND SIMPLY JUST WANTED TO GO HOME I love to travel - literally a HUGE part of my life - BUT NOW - ugh!!! CRINGE; Trade LAX for Burbank, You will save money - add at MINIMUM $150 to the price of any flight you now book from LAX short and sweet (or not so as it were): used to uber for 20 to 30 bucks each direction; since 'lax-it' opened I spent $60 in and $140 (yes one hundred and forty dollars) to get home. A gentleman who helped me navigate this Ill-advertised 'system' (to use the term in a generous fashion) said he adds 150 to his budget when he flies now. I felt bad a lady with a small child said she was live streaming saying she wanted her family to know where she last was if something happened to them) and a complete cobbled-together mess. I expect that airports are often patched together to adapt for change over time, but this one takes the cake with the 6 times the price fee added to the aggravation.
