Beautiful blonde color

My new salon. Color is perfect. Hair is soft. Layeli is just a beautiful person and so grateful I found her. And the Aveda products are of course delightful.

Where do I start?! This review is loooong overdue! I first started going to Layeli 11 years ago while she was working at another salon and I have been going to her regularly ever since! Now, she's opened her own salon and want to help spread the word. I can't gate keep ladies! She is AMAZING at what she does. I've wore extensions for many years and she's always matched my extensions PERFECTLY and made the color blend. I change up my look often so I go to her regularly for Balayage, highlights, bleaching sessions, semi permanent color, permanent, toners, keratin, you name it! And I have never been disappointed. Layeli is super detail oriented, she listens to what her clients want, educates them on what the process will be to get there and makes it happen! She always uses only high quality products, including Aveda. All her products are so gentle on the hair and leaves my hair sooo soft and with such a pleasant scent! I've been in so many jams before big events, where I had new extensions and my hair is a completely different tone or color and walk out her salon ON POINT! Super sweet, genuinely kind, quality work, accommodating and provides top knotch customer service.

Dark nape area

This was almost a year ago. I had such a bad experience here, it's taken a long time to decide whether or not to post anything about it. I trusted this person based off what the reviews said, location, her vibe was great, the price was right (not cheap but not outrageously unaffordable either). I needed a color correction after getting a botched partial at Adriana's in Santa Monica on Pico. Honestly, I should have requested a refund from both places but I'm not very good at speaking up for myself sometimes and I was too traumatized to ever set foot at either one of these places ever again. She left me with DARK roots, no blend. All dark at the nape. Cut 4 inches off my hair without permission. I went in twice, I trusted the process at first but the results were awful. I just wanted highlights. I'm not sure how it all turned out so bad. Obviously, never going back again. But daaammnnn I really wish I'd requested a refund.

This was a great find! Due to the pandemic, I just let my hair go and it was a mess. Layeli did an amazing job of attending to my concerns and giving me the perfect cut. She uses quality products and ensured I was satisfied with my new cut. Parking was easy. The shop was clean. Making an appointment was effortless and I will definitely be returning and recommending her services.

Layeli Salon is the best salon. Highly recommend. I have been going to Layeli over 10 years now. She's great. Every 8 weeks I get my hair highlighted. She's amazing. I really like her salon too. Layeli is magical. She treats me really well and smiles and I don't go anywhere else. Also, to stay healthy she gets her massages by Kathleen therapeutic massage located in Culver City near by.

She uses all Aveda products and dyes, so everything is high quality, and her prices are very reasonable.

He's incredibly zen and gave some really honest, insightful advice on what my hair actually needed. What impressed me most was that he did the entire cut with scissors--most places I go just rely on clippers, so seeing that level of talent and craftsmanship was awesome. I love the result and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Shu if you're looking for someone who actually knows what they're doing. He's a skilled craftsman. Ps. I got a men's haircut

I was searching for a new hair salon and found Mimi Hair with good reviews nearby. I went on their…read morewebsite and requested a haircut appointment for 4/2/26. I was matched with Sheila. I work full-time and had scheduled the appointment at 11:30 AM specifically due to my work schedule. I arrived about five minutes early for my appointment and another stylist checked me in saying my stylist would be with me soon. Other than this one stylist and her client, the salon was empty. At 11:29, I got a text from Sheila saying she was running 10 minutes late. Unfortunately for me, Sheila arrived 17 minutes late for my scheduled appointment. Tardiness aside, the overall haircut experience was average. Neither Sheila nor I spoke much during the appointment. I had a 12:45 lunch meeting with my boss, was stressed about being late, and I felt trapped. There weren't any extra frills like a nice scalp massage during the wash - I'm sure Sheila was trying to get me done as quickly as possible. I did choose to give two stars instead of one because I felt the haircut itself was adequate. No fault of the stylist's, but I found Mimi Hair's wash sinks to be extremely uncomfortable on my neck! I remember old salons when I was a kid that had old sinks and chairs that put a lot of pressure on your neck. The other three LA salons I've been to have modern sinks and chairs, but Mimi Hair must have something older...my neck was killing me! Obviously, I was hugely inconvenienced and my experience was soured. Sheila did not offer an explanation for why she was so late or acknowledge the bad impression. I had to explain to my boss that my hairstylist was almost 20 min late! Sheila charged me $90 for the haircut, and I did still leave a small tip. I guess I'll keep looking for a new salon... PS: I forgot to mention there was a dog walking around the salon. The dog didn't make any noise but it's just not right for me.

Reyna recommended to get demi-permanent coloring so when it grows out the color will be gradual and softer until my next visit. Wow!! She matched my natural color perfectly but in a way that looks more enhanced and vibrant. I asked for a trim and curtain bangs and she added some long layers in the front. I'm SO happy with the results. Reyna was super kind and personable, efficient and attentive. Top tier services that leave you feeling brand new and super polished. I will definitely be back.

As a customer walking into a business i rely on reviews to know what a place is like. Yes the owner is not friendly. Yes no one greets you at the door. Yes the paring is actually quite awful but yes there's parking up front at the meters. Yes I was there while a leak was happening right behind my head on top of my stylist during a color. Yes i was dissatisfied at the salons quality not the stylist. Especially when you're not offered to be moved to another chair. Had you gone above and beyond for that as an owner this review wouldn't be this. Just some food for thought. Be transparent. And fix your roof. Oh and my stylist name is Jamie. She's reachable at 626-215-9301. For anyone looking for her, yes she left. I couldn't see why she'd want to stay here either.

The salon is clean, bright, airy, comfortable, and has a laid-back vibe. The music is always great, the staff is extremely friendly, and there are refreshments available. The restrooms are clean and in great condition. I love the plants throughout the salon and the personal touches such as the neon "Be Excellent to Each Other" sign. My hairstylist, Dina, gives me the best cut and color of my life. Every time I leave I know that my hair looks the best it can, and my color is gorgeous. My color also consistently fades out in a way that looks intentional between coloring, and remains vibrant for many weeks. I've never been happier with my hair. I've also seen other stylists for blowouts between visits and every stylist has been great. Karla cut my niece's hair and was wonderful with her. You can book online, and you can text with the receptionist if you have to change your appointment which is great. The only downside is that there's no dedicated parking, which isn't their fault and I've never had a problem. Just be careful if you go on a street sweeping day.
