What a cute place. I've had this place bookmarked for so long and I'm glad to finally have stopped by! It's kind of the best of both worlds between a bakery and a gastropub. It's a lot bigger on the inside than it appears from the outside. It's really cool and I absolutely love the vibe overall. Portions of the food were decently big and the prices weren't too bad either. Would definitely come back again and again! Parking is easy as it's located in a plaza with plenty of spots available. SPICY MAPLE BACON POPCORN: Wanted to get this to see what all the hype was about. I pretty much killed it all by myself haha. It's not spicy at all-just a hint of cumin and chili powder. It's basically popcorn drizzled in maple syrup and bacon. I love salty and sweet combos sometimes and this worked for me. It's not something I'd crave but it was definitely worth getting once to try. Would get this again but to share with a group of friends for sure. GARLICKY FRIES: It's not as garlic-y or cheesy as other garlic fries I've tried, but it was okay. It comes with three dipping sauces-srircha ketchup (not spicy in my opinion, was my favorite of the three), blue cheese aioli (not a fan of blue cheese), and chipotle ranch (liked it). SHORT RIB MAC & CHEESE GRILLED CHEESE: This was my favorite thing that we ordered. Would totally get this all over again. It came with a spring mix salad on the side. The sandwich was amazing. Very disappointed. I ordered a tart, crème puff, and eclair expecting them all to have custard. Unfortunately they were all filled with whipped cream and no custard. This review is based solely on their pastry items. My wife decided to pick up a few items from this place based on one of her coworker's recommendation. She was a bit hesitant at first after reading Michael W's review but I told her to give it a try anyway. BIG MISTAKE. Everything was bland and some tasted a bit old. They were so bad we both ended up taking few bites and throwing most of them away. $20 worth of pastry items gone to waste. These are the items she brought home: Macarons (sort of) - these were kind of funky looking, almost like first baking experiment gone wrong. Shape was uneven and the texture was completely off. The vanilla was too crispy and the chocolate was stale, chewy, and sticky. The filling in the middle was more like whip cream frosting than the traditional jelly like texture. Fruit tart - the pastry shell was bland and tasted like they were spoiled, like rancid butter. The fruits were ok but didn't taste that fresh. Cannoli - I think it's called something else but the concept is similar to a cannoli. It has some type of creamy cheese filling and pastry shell on the outside. The filling was bland and the pastry dough was stale. Reese's pieces cupcake - The cake part was really dry and dense. The frosting was better but as soon as I took a bite, the flavor quickly dissipated. It was the weirdest thing. Chocolate amore - This one's better than the previous ones but it still had an old taste. At least this one was somewhat edible. Strawberry fresca - just a fancy name for the typical Asian strawberry cake. This was nothing special but was the most palatable item. I actually felt angry after eating these because they were so bad. I am going to have to go to My Delight tomorrow to redeem myself. read more

And yeah, the Chocolate Croissant and the Raspberry Cream Cheese Danish were knock outs too. And these two were "day old", BOGO deals. Warmed 'em up first, and I think that made the difference between a "meh" from Mr. B [who would not wait], and me [who would]. Monte Cristo - thick with good meat and cheese on a not-too-thick French Toast bread, and an interesting blackberry compote smeared inside. I just wish the compote had been served on the side. It soaked the bread and made it mushy, but it sure was tasty. Breakfast potatoes with caramelized onions and bell pepper. A good one, but I would try something else next time since they have such interesting seasonal menus. Short rib tacos (2). OMG beautiful. Sunny side up egg, super moist shredded rib meat, a dollop of sour cream, and so big it will keep you from going hungry. This came with breakfast potatoes too. Definitely a keeper. A word about the coffee...thin but would have had potential if it had been more potent. Staff kept it coming. And I loved the insulated pot with the temperature gauge on top. Great for keepin' it hot, honey! This place is a great looking, roomy cafe/bistro and the bakery is such a bonus [or is it the other way around?]. And I love that Dolce Bistro is dog friendly. They have four tables outside in front. Tip: DB&B serves breakfast, but only on Saturday and Sunday, and only between 9 and 12. The bakery opens an hour earlier. See you again, Dolce. Our group met here again on Saturday and this time I tried their minestrone. I wasn't really impressed. It was just a bunch of vegetables in a watered down broth. Meh, I'll have to pass on that. The creamy tomato basil that another friend got looked far superior and from the way he devoured it, I'm sure it was delicious. I got my usual Napoleatano but I was tempted to get the pick two for $25 where you get an appetizer, entree, and dessert but I snagged 3 slices of cake for my last hurrah on my way out. Cake is $3.75 a slice but it's made fresh everyday with authentic homemade whipping cream - none of that canned frosting here. It was a bit overpowering with the onions but it settled down a bit after that. I have eaten here when they used to have their dining room open, and their food was delicious. Their bakery is also really great. I purchased their Thanksgiving family meal when they offered it this past Thanksgiving, and the food was excellent. They arranged a time for each customer to pick up their food, which prevented overcrowding and made things feel really safe. This time, I purchased their Valentine's Day special which included sparkling wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and a combination of chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet cupcakes with buttercream icing. Everything was delicious, and it was all ready for me when I came in to pick up my box at my appointed time. Whenever I'm there, I always end up picking up extra desserts from their bakery because it's really hard to resist all the scrumptious looking pastries and cookies they have on display behind the glass. I particularly enjoy their butter cream and cream cheese icings. Overall, they are very good with their Covid measures, so have no fear when visiting. I had the loaded cheesy tater tots for my appetizer, I liked them very much. For my main meal, I ordered the prime rib & Mac n cheese grilled cheese sandwich, it came with a garden salad. If you want fries, it's an extra 2 dollars. The grilled cheese sandwich cost 15 dollars and it was not worth the price. The meat inside the sandwich was very sparse and the sandwich was lacking flavors. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate amore cake. I liked the cake, It was very moist. I got a chocolate chip cookie to go, it was a little burnt, but it still tasted very good. It even had giant chocolate chips in it! Overall, I would say that the dessert is very good. (very helpful) ONLY NEGATIVE with the service was it took about 35 minutes (I was keeping track of time) after we got our appetizer (fries) to get our main entrees. :-( Maybe because it got crowded they couldn't keep up... food ordered: -classic burger $8 it was cooked perfectly but didn't have much flavor but it was huge. -clam chowder $3 (extra, instead of free salad) it was salty and not that much clam. -garlicky fries (free yelp coupon) comes with 3 sauces: Chipotle sauce, Sriracha ketchup, and Ranch.
