Very tasty, counter service so it's pretty fast to get your food and go. The empanadas are put in the oven only after you order so they come out hot and fresh. I had the beef, spicy chicken, and spicy steak which was my favorite. I highly recommend it. One suggestion would be to offer self service sauce or a bottle of each sauce on the table so you can try each and have as much as you want without having to ask for more. It's also less plastic being used. I also ordered a 10-Pack if frozen empanadas delivered to me. They are great! Reasonably priced, fast delivery and hot and fresh whenever you want them. Lazo helps alleviate the void of good ethnic food (at reasonable prices) in Downtown Denver. The staff there was very nice and even though it was a Rockies game, I was easily able to find a spot to enjoy my empanadas on a Friday early evening. As for the Empanadas themselves, the crust is fantastically flakey. It had a great texture. The only reason it's a four and not a five is that I felt the flavor of the fillings wasn't quite 5 star status. They definitely don't skimp on the fillings, so that not an issue, and their dipping sauce was pretty tasty. It was just missing that extra gusto. I had the chicken caprese, steak, and ground beef, all with the chimichurri. However, I will be back for sure, and may opt for the spicy flavors next time around, and try the other sauces. I did their 3 for 10 special and had the spicy beef, chorizo, egg and cheese, and the chicken caprese. Out of the three the chicken caprese was definitely my favorite. It was savory and delicious. The spicy beef was good and had a nice kick to it, while the chorizo is meaty, they definitely don't skimp on the meat here. The empanadas may look small, but 3 was very filling. I decided to try all three of the sauces, all were good and I'd recommend doing all three to figure out which one fits your taste buds. The service is great. They are a little on the pricey side, so I don't know how they have only one dollar sign listed. The 3 for 10 deal is pretty good. That's what my boyfriend and I did. We got ham and cheese, spinach and cheese, and mushroom. They were all very good. Super filled. The pastry was nice and flakie, crispy, mmmmmm! Service was good the gentleman there was from Argentina which my boyfriend was happy for because he got to use his Spanish. They were really nice. Parking is all street parking because it's in city next to a sports arena. Not sure if there is a parking garage nearby. They have inside and out side seating. We sat outside which was really nice. Cycled down here one saturday afternoon. it's a small little shop that replaced it's empanda predecessor, Buenas Aires. They have a lovely little patio on the outside that's perfect for people watching on a lazy day. We tried a few different empanads. I got the spinach and cheese, the mushroom and the spicy ground beef. The empanadas had a great crackly skin. It was light, airy but still held the perfect amount of doughiness. It comes along with a salsa, so I got the chimmichuri. The chimmichuri was on-point, chimmicuri done right. The flavors of the empanads were all great. My least favorite of the 3 that I got was definitely the mushroom, which was a little bland. The spinach empanda was great, it's a very typica stuffing, but it worked well as a salty contrast to the wonderful empanda skin. The real highlight of the meal here was the ground beef empanda. The spicy ground beef was delicious, it was nutty, slightly sweet with perfectly moist ground beef. 5/5. Great casual place for lunch, reasonably priced and great food. If there's one place that deserves a 5-star rating, it's Lazo's!! First off, their customer service is second to none. The two people that were staffed yesterday could not have been nicer. And the food....OMG...to die for! I had all three vegetarian options and each was outstanding. Though the spinach and cheese came in #1 in my opinion. We loved them so much we ended up buying their frozen versions so we could make them at home. This last piece has nothing to do with the food, but everything to do with the quality of the people that work there. It was a busy night downtown and there was a parking attendant helping fill the lot next to their business for a concert. The man working at Lazo's went out of his way to go outside & chat with the parking attendant and proceeded to bake him an empanada. He even picked up trash that he saw outside. Of the 6 empanadas I had, 2 were chorizo egg and cheese, 1 was steak, 1 spicy chicken, 1 spicy beef, and 1 spinach and cheese. For sauce, I went with the chimichurri. These empanadas are pretty good, but they aren't as good as those from Buenos Aires, who used to be in this space years ago. They've got a nice selection, though they do not offer as many vegetarian ones as other places around town. The meat ones we tried were a bit plain, and I'd have liked to have some more flavor from them. I enjoyed the spinach one the most, followed by the mushroom one, so yeah, more vegetable ones please. Their chimichurri is very good, so make sure to get that as your side sauce. I guess maybe my review is a bit nostalgic because I miss Buenos Aires so much, but sure, these will do in a pinch. The emplyee's can be a bit standoff ish if you dont speak their language. The other thing which i notice is residence in the building get no kind of discount or promotion biy 12 get one free. or 10% off any order through the community of the Burlington. I think that when you move in a building it is common to share things such as the hallways, because the emplyees here have sex in them which makes me uncomfortable.
