Great little spot with wonderful atmosphere. We got the fried pickle chips and they were just mediocre. The waiter suggested the bang bang shrimp tacos and they were really good. The wifey got shrimp and grits because she absolutely loves them but she said these were below mediocre. She was not a fan of the tomato base. I'm giving it a solid 4 stars based primarily on my tacos. read more

We were visiting from the Chicago area and had such a great time catching up with our friend--there was so much laughter, delicious food, and dangerously good adult beverages that I completely forgot to take a photo of our main entrée. Blame it on the good times (or the cocktails... probably both). We kicked things off with fried green tomatoes and pickle chips--crispy, crunchy, and totally addictive. The batter was light, seasoned just right, and basically the appetizer version of a standing ovation. Perfect pairing with our expertly crafted cocktails. I mean, let's be honest--day drinking feels like a personal award ceremony when you're on vacation. I think my husband and I shared the grilled Mahi Mahi... but whatever it was, it was delicious and we were totally impressed. (Again, thank you cocktails.) But the real showstopper? The bread pudding. It was like custard dressed up in bread's clothing--soft and spongy with a creamy flavor that made us swoon. The bread added just the right amount of texture to that rich, sweet, flavor-packed bite. Dessert goals. The service? Fantastic. Everyone was friendly, funny, and made us feel like regulars. Very disappointing experience. The food was mediocre at best. My daughter said her burger "tasted like a frozen burger," which was pretty accurate. Service was lacking...we sat with empty drinks for much of the meal and had to request refills. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Charming as heck with a small southern town meets local watering hole vs hotel bar vibe in a downtown that rivals any for honest-to-Gawd Norman Wellian Americana. The menu, cleanliness, service and all around atmosphere set the tone for the experience. This menu is like a miniature version of the mother of all menus found at Cheesecake Factory with something for everyone. I could make a meal of an assortment of appetizers, but had to choose one of the half dozen versions of shrimp meals. Every bite was full of flavor and delivered everything that the impressive menu promised! Like, great food on it's own, and next level deliciousness when you include the sauces and garnish. Love this place. I've been here multiple occasions and have never been disappointed with service or food. I usually get the Wildcat Pasta which is a bowl of scrumptiousness into itself but ventured out of my routine for the shrimp dinner. It couldn't have been any better if I had been sitting beachside. Partner it up with fried squash and zucchini and loaded mashed potatoes and you won't be disappointed. The house salad is wonderful and the bread pudding was a show stopper. It is a really cool restaurant with brick walls and cool lights. But, not only is it cute, but the food was really good and the waitress was friendly. I got blackened salmon and it was great, with a mashed potato that was soft and hot, and steamed broccoli. Husband had fries, which were great and wings, but I didn't try them. Friends suggested this place. They forewarned us it can be hit or miss depending on your server. Well - it was a Hit! Makenna was probably the best server we have ever had. She was very attentive to our drinks whether it was an iced tea or beer. Told us as we were looking at the menus that baked potatoes were about 25 minutes out so we could make an informed decision if we wanted to wait. We had the steak philly, Salmon BLT, Cajun chicken sandwich & fried Catfish. All were very good! Great first impression for us newbies! We will be back! Some friends of our recommended we meet here for dinner so we did. Evidently, they have only been open for about four months so I imagine this review will get better over time. We sat at the table in the window, and the table itself was a little small for four people even though the booth could easily hold four. Our server was very nice, but the service was a bit spotty between her and another woman who helped us. We ordered bang bang shrimp and boneless chicken wings for appetizers. They were good, but more fried breading than meat. Three of the four of us ordered the sirloin since they were out of the New York strip. The steaks were cooked to the right temperature, but they had very little flavor. The best item was probably the bang bang shrimp due to the sauce and the fried breading (again very little meat). The atmosphere is pretty cool and the place was packed. They said they will be opening the second floor soon. I would give this one a little more time and revisit. read more

We've only eaten here once as its out of town for us, but the food was excellent! I had their Brisket Grilled Cheese, which was a first for me. Very tasty indeed. Went early on a weekday for steaks. They were out of filets which is what was recommended by someone and what we went for. The server was speedy. Almost too speedy. The food came out super fast but we didn't have steak knife's to cut the steak. Pretty essential for steak! We were told they were waiting for dishwasher to be finished. We waited for a few minutes but then ate them with butter knifes. Ribeyes were grisly and not choice meat. More garnishing with fried green tomatoes would dress it up. Should serve on a bed of lettuce. It was so hot right out of skillet. Steak knifes finally came out after we were done eating. We ate between 6:40-7:10 pm so a little disappointed this restaurant wouldn't be prepared for such a dining experience at early prime dinner time. The food should have came out when the knifes were ready. Server was def good and apologetic but really didn't help matters. Felt like a rushed experience. Paid over $110 to eat steaks with a butter knife. The atmosphere was good but the kitchen just didn't quite have it together. Probably wouldn't go back. read more

Went last night for the first time. We had a party of 7 got there about 5:45. Not too crowded but a good crowd, got seated right away. Our waitress was great and got to us right away. Got our drinks quickly and took an app order. Only 2 of us wanted an app, got the fried pickles. We will get those again and we recommend you try them. We ordered our meals and they came out fairly quick. Had an issue with one of the meals which was mahi-mahi. It was VERY fishy smelling and taste was off and the portion was a lot smaller then expected. Could not get past the smell and taste. Waitress came back and we ordered something else. Got the shrimp instead as two others at the table got them and they looked great. Well grilled and seasoned. We were also missing a side dish but it got fixed. It appeared that when the shrimp order went in the kitchen either missed it or forgot about it. It came out when everyone else was finishing their dinners. The shrimp looked like they set it on the grill and took it right back off and threw seasoning in it. It was nothing like the other two orders at the table. The waitress removed that dinner from the bill and that was great of her. As we were sitting I noticed orders of the pasta that I ordered going out and they had what looked like garlic bread with them and mine did not come with it. Did not say anything as we were done eating and ready to leave. Since this was our first time here we will try them again, maybe off night for them. The rest of our party said their meals were good and they have been there before and not usually like this. Again we don't blame the waitress she was great and took care of everything. This building is absolutely beautiful and has the option for outside top deck seating. That is about the only good thing we can say from our experience last night. Some friends of ours highly recommended for us to give it a try and i hated that we were disappointed. First we had to wait for 45 minutes, which wasn't a big deal because they were busy. Once we finally got seated we placed two appetizer orders, one being friend green tomatoes and the voodoo shrimp. Both of those were decent. Our server was fairly new so we did give her a little grace, but all in all, she was not good. She kept forgetting everything and couldn't even remember what we had to drink even though it was waters and a coke. We waited and waited for around an hour or more for our food to come out. Once we received our meals two of us didn't receive our sweet potato fries, ranch, or bbq sauce. The server told us it was coming out soon. Once everyone was finished with their meal we finally received our fries- but no ranch again. The grilled chicken was cold and so dry that it could've been chewed up and blew like dust. Definitely a choking hazard!!! The table beside us were extremely patient and had ordered before us and didn't receive their food and ended up walking out and the server just kept giving them a run around over and over and over. We probably will not be giving the lazy beagle a second chance unfortunately. Especially considering our meals were $50+ for one couple.
