The service was outstanding, the food not so much. Ordered the Hot Brown Sliders, they were cold in the middle, with very little mornay sauce, and no poppy seed butter on the buns, which were basically Kings Hawaiian Rolls. Ordered fries as a side, and they were cold as well. Very disappointing since in the middle of the afternoon it was pretty slow business wise. We also ordered the giant pretzel with a side of beer cheese sauce. The pretzel was fine, but the beer cheese sauce was overpriced (4.50 for a small cup) and was lacking in both cheese and beer flavor, very bland. Monkey Town Brewery is so cute! The building itself looks like an old school train station in downtown Loudon. The beer options were plenty and diverse, we opted for the flights to sample multiple. I was expecting a level 4 food experience and a 5 was what I got. The restaurant is located in an 1852 railroad depot in Loudon, TN. Cool venue and a really neat downtown in a very old town circa 1817. More about the food, when I rate brew food I rate according to Abridged Beer and Clinch River Brewery standards at a 5. MTB is in that category. I had the Reuben sandwich, which could have been dry but Mattie our waitress said that needs more thousand island dressing and she was right, the dressing was sensational and had to be homemade. The side of Brussels Sprouts was good but a little undercooked, the side of balsamic vinaigrette was a nice touch. My wife loved the lettuce wraps, a perfect combo of sweet and savory and again all of it felt organic and fresh. The beer was great the West Coast IPA was similar to the Stone IPA, the Bramble Berry Gluten Free Sour was a 4 compared to the Xul PB&J at a 5. This place is in the old train station so lots of history here. Waitress/bartender Kaylen was awesome. We have tried coming here many times and thought they were closed! Well - they are only open Thursday thru Sundays. Kaylen let me sample a couple beers. The cherry one was not for me so I settled on the Kolsch and it brought me back to last summer being in Germany! "I want you take me to Funkytown". What's that? Oh, it's called Monkey Town, a brewery that recently opened a location in Loudon. Breweries can be hit or miss on their food, but the food is presented well and overall good flavor. I ordered the Thai lettuce wraps, lettuce wraps with chicken and a slaw. I enjoyed the chili and peanut sauces, however the wraps were WAY overdressed. I couldn't pick up the doused lettuce and the fried wonton and the slaw, which should have provided a crunchy component, were soggy. The flavors were balanced with a good amount of heat and sweetness though. My friend ordered a beet salad with added chicken. Her chicken was quite dry and over cooked but the vegetables were fresh. My favorite part was the Bramble Berry Beer, dubbed the "The Grade School Snack". Probably one of the most interesting beers I've ever had, with peanut butter, marshmallow taste, and a berry flavor. Basically, an adult PB&J! Bring your cash folks, Monkey Town charges a steep credit card fee, which I wish they would have stated beforehand. My family and I were visiting Loudon for the holiday week. We stumbled upon Monkey Town and decided to go in for a late lunch/ early dinner. The food was very good. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Loved the beer selection as well. I loved that it was an old train station that was turned into a brewery/restaurant. The railroad runs right along the backside of the building. You can watch the train go by while you're eating a meal and drinking your bee. definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Place was short handed so we had to wait about .30 minutes for our meal. The French fryer was down and no fries. They did have bagged potato chips instead. No music inside the restaurant but they had four TV's playing different shows. The restaurant itself was clean, our waitress was very nice and had a sweet persona. I was surprised and disappointed both at the menu options though. There was no actual meal. Nothing but Mediterranean style food along with some bbq. Definitely won't go back until some changes are made. The building however has great history to it. The restaurant owner doesn't push that info though. read more

No monkeying around going on here. Newest addition to Loudon and long time coming. Situated in an old train depot. Plenty of parking and easy to get in to. Made it to this locations grand opening. Typical hectic day with grand opening issues. Lines out the door waiting to try this place out. Everyone had positive talk and had a great time. Tried 6 different types of beers they offered. I found them to be refreshing and liked all that I tried. I did not try any of the food items but watched several items fly out the kitchen. Staff was friendly and cordial. The burgers tasted like frozen patties rather than freshly made, and the fries appeared to be a standard frozen product simply dropped in the fryer. My daughter went to college in dayton . We loved this place and everytime we would visit, we would go. We were so excited this location opened. Its a short drive from our house and now thats shes graduated we can still go. This location has a few different items on menu that dayton didnt, like the thai lettuce wraps. Theyre amazing !! My bf and I visited Monkey Town yesterday afternoon, right before the dinner crowd came in. We sat at the bar and Maylea was our server. She was so sweet, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the jumbo pretzel with beer cheese as an appetizer and that was the best beer cheese I've ever had! My BF had the Reuben and I had the lettuce wraps, both were delicious. The ambiance is really neat, the food was fabulous and the service was top notch. It's an hour drive for us to get there but definitely worth the drive and we will be back! read more

First time visit. Brewery located in old train station with active rail line next to business. Victoria R (server) was professional and friendly and provided awesome customer service. Our food was delivered quickly and was great tasting. We had tomato soup (yummy), honey glazed chicken/apple salad and shredded pork plate with fries/ macaroni and cheese. The dining area and bar is comfortable, menu had a great selection of food.. not your typical array of hamburgers and such! We started off with a pretzel and beer cheese!! Was WONDERFUL.. HOT .. fresh and BEER CHEESE was the best! Had a small some type of sour...... berry beer ( deep red) was really goodand then a green goddess wrap which we added chicken too!! YUMM. Probably my favorite place in LoCo. Their venue is very cool and reminds me of a place back home in my little town in Northern California- love the brick and cool open bar area. Our server was AMAZING; she was super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Their menu has a ton of delicious options and it was actually hard to decide what to get because we wanted everything. I got the green goddess wrap which was excellent and my hubs got the Reuben (or Cuban?) whatever it was is was fantastic and I wanted to eat it too. My son scarfed down his grilled cheese. We highly recommend the beer cheese and chips too. My hubs doesn't drink but I had samples of their sours and stout and everything was great (I chose a combo of their key lime sour and pb&j sour which was absolutely killer!!!) Rode up here on my motorcycle with friends for the weekend and ate at Monkey Town three times. I had the Tuna poke bowl with seared sashimi tuna every time and enjoyed it very much. Finally tried the closest brewery to me here - Monkey Town Brewing in downtown Loudon. 20 beers on tap, full kitchen with an interesting menu. I did a flight of beers and had their version of an ahi poke bowl. The beer was fine - but prefer hoppier brews myself. The food was very good. I'll definitely be back, but still miss my local California breweries, especially Docent Brewing in SJC. read more

Really enjoyed our lunch here. The staff is so nice and service was quick. Our waitress was just lovely. I got the green goddess wrap. I actually didn't care for it. There was too much sauce and Parmesan for my taste and I think they forgot the avocado, didn't seem to be any Brussels sprouts. It just didn't taste like what I expected from the menu's description. However, that won't stop me from going back. We had such a pleasant afternoon dining there. The person dining with me got a mushroom Swiss burger and really liked it. The fries were great. Tots were good too. There are lots of other things on the menu I'm looking forward to trying. Surprised at others complaints. Place was busy at lunchtime on a Saturday so we improvised, and asked to be seated outside. They pushed a couple of round tables together and we made it work. The waitress loved my brother in laws shoes. He had some moccasin type boat shoes on with USA logo with red, white and blue all over them. We ordered drinks. Wife enjoyed the shandy. Had a sip- very fresh lemon squeezed taste to the beer. Very enjoyable. Others in our group had the sours. Sister in law had the Key Lime. She liked it a lot. I had it later myself. Lime, graham cracker and vanilla notes. Tasty! My nephew had the brambleberry which he enjoyed. Brother in law and I both had the Dark cherry cobbler which had graham cracker, vanilla, tart cherry and I believe they were aged in a Brazillian wood barrel. Epic! I had two of those. A dessert type sour to be sure! Did not get to sample anything outside the aforementioned. But it was lunchtime so we had lunch. I had the thai chicken wraps. Very tasty, sesame chicken, peanut sauce, fried wonton pieces, great sauce. Well done MT! Others ordered: Irish Nachos, Pulled pork tacos, Cubano sandwich, and a Caprese salad.
