Our food was amazing !! We got the bang bang shrimp, the ribeye, a cheeseburger, and chicken strips. Everything was cooked perfect. Our server was very sweet and we sat up top on the patio. The only thing we had to wait on was silverware after our food was served. We live out of town but will go back! read more

Should be the Rude Beagle. Just left 1/2 a dinner and no tip. Waited 1 hour and they just brought 1 meal (2 people).told us other meal was finishing up would be few more minutes. We didn't say anything just looked at server who said "we are only human". How rude as we didn't even say anything. No apologies just the comment. 10 minutes later I was done eating and other meal was still not there. Had manager take it off check and paid and left. No apology for severs comment. This place was recommended to us by the employee from Lost sea adventure and are we glad we took her advice. The place is only 9 days new, yes they opened just before Christmas. Cute ambiance inside very nice decor and history to the place. Service let me tell you if you can ask for Lydia you aren't going to be disappointed. She has an amazing smile that is just contagious, mama loved her and she is just a great person. Full of energy and a ray of sunshine with Lydia's service alone I'd come back but then you add the food and flavor and now it's outstanding. Folks got the shrimp and grits they loved it and it's just like they make at home. They are cooks so that's always hard to make them happy. Cooks are the worst critics. I had the pasta wildcat I think it's called and Lydia made a great suggestion since I like spice to kick it up a notch and man was it tasty and just the perfect punch of Cajun spice. Honestly the water was great as well. Definitely looking forward to another visit. We also got the bread pudding. This is more of a personal thing so I can't really rate it. I am 10 years sober and the sauce just had to much of the Jack Daniel's bourbon taste and so I just didn't want to continue eating it and letting any desire of drinking come back. Just my thing but I could tell the ice cream and bread pudding had a good taste just couldn't enjoy as it felt like the bourbon wasn't really cooked out of the sauce. So if you drink I'm sure you'll love it, if you don't just know it was to much. Hopefully they can perfect it so it's not so strong. read more

This is our second time here. Not a whole lot different than the first time. They can do better but they won't listen to the customers. This time my wife had the Mahi Mahi tacos and she said they were good. I have the ribeye and it had no seasoning on it at all. Just a burnt meat taste and that made the steak just ok and not over the top. The steaks need a tenderizer and seasoning cooked into the meat. What is it with ice? Bring tea and almost no ice in any of our cups. We had to practically beg for it. Our waitress wasn't overly friendly. She wasn't rude but just not a smiling face. The restaurant was clean and tables clean. They gotta do better. read more

I wanted to like this place. It is a very nice looking restaurant. I visited twice in the first month of operation but decided not to write a negative review. After three visits and three bad experiences, here is my review. First visit. The steak was fatty, under seasoned, and "soupy". The fish tacos were dry and were served without the mango salsa. Waitress never returned so I couldn't mention the lack of salsa. Fried pickles were good. Second visit. Pasta was overcooked. Cheese steak sandwich was mediocre. Fried pickles were good. Waitress was good. Third visit. Catfish was mushy. Too bad because the breading was good. Hamburger was a diner style burger so don't expect much. Bread pudding tasted stale. This restaurant looked like a home run but the cool decor and appetizing menu could not make up for the horrendous service and staff. We were seated quickly, but then the wait began. A server checked on the table next to us several times, even bumping me on one visit. After about 15 minutes I asked the server if she had our table and was greeted with a rudely arrogant reply that she hadn't seen us. After waiting and waiting she informed us that the kitchen was backed up and our order would be delayed. The rest of the staff stood in the hallway socializing for an extended period while other customers also looked around forgotten. There are better options. McDonalds is a better option. Especially Stephanie and Mary, they provide a sense of appreciation for my patronage and also some humor and light conversation. For me, it comes down to good customer service and good people. There was one young lady that was bringing out "Everyone in the Restaurant" orders and was working very hard and always had a pleasant smile and something nice to say. She was awesome! I ordered the grilled chicken and was very pleased. It was tender and juicy. Very good choice. Husband ordered the ribeye with a baked potato. The potato was great and he enjoyed it. The steak was real chewy and about half of the serving was fatty. Wasn't a good choice. Overall experience was pretty nice. They were extremely busy. It was a Saturday evening. The wait was about 15 minutes so we wandered around this charming town when the text came for us to be seated. Mary was our waitress. Fun, professional, witty and capable, she enhanced the rustic atmosphere with her pleasant demeanor and easy smile. The salad, mahi mahi and shrimp & grits were each an A+, compliments to the chef. The only reason I didn't rate the place higher was that the couple who were seated next to us never got their food. They both arrived prior to our arrival and ordered before we even sat down.
