Great rooftop bar!
Judy S.

Love everything about this gem! The cocktails are spot on! My caramel kiss martini was on point! Shrimp skewers had plentiful shrimp! Dint think it's gonna be 4 shrimp! Literally 12 large shrimp! The Philly flat bread was super good!! Don't want fries? No problem, sub out for small charge and make it awesome. I did and the onion rings are not greasy, light as plentiful! Servers? Attentive and friendly..Elijah even helped me pick out a martini! I mean when ya got three to choose from ya don't wanna make a mistake! All in all, I love this gem, don't miss it!

We were visiting from the Chicago area and had such a great time catching up with our friend--there was so much laughter, delicious food, and dangerously good adult beverages that I completely forgot to take a photo of our main entrée. Blame it on the good times (or the cocktails... probably both). We kicked things off with fried green tomatoes and pickle chips--crispy, crunchy, and totally addictive. The batter was light, seasoned just right, and basically the appetizer version of a standing ovation. Perfect pairing with our expertly crafted cocktails. I mean, let's be honest--day drinking feels like a personal award ceremony when you're on vacation. I think my husband and I shared the grilled Mahi Mahi... but whatever it was, it was delicious and we were totally impressed. (Again, thank you cocktails.) But the real showstopper? The bread pudding. It was like custard dressed up in bread's clothing--soft and spongy with a creamy flavor that made us swoon. The bread added just the right amount of texture to that rich, sweet, flavor-packed bite. Dessert goals. The service? Fantastic. Everyone was friendly, funny, and made us feel like regulars. The vibe is casually elegant and warmly welcoming--like your stylish friend who also gives great hugs. A gem of a restaurant in this charming little town--absolutely worth the detour.

The Lazy Beagle Grill is a cute spot in downtown Sweetwater, TN! My friend and I just went for lunch but the food was great and so was the service. Everyone is so friendly in there. I think they even have a rooftop bar, but I didn't see it! Would definitely check out if I were you!

Charming as heck with a small southern town meets local watering hole vs hotel bar vibe in a downtown that rivals any for honest-to-Gawd Norman Wellian Americana. The menu, cleanliness, service and all around atmosphere set the tone for the experience. This menu is like a miniature version of the mother of all menus found at Cheesecake Factory with something for everyone. I could make a meal of an assortment of appetizers, but had to choose one of the half dozen versions of shrimp meals. Every bite was full of flavor and delivered everything that the impressive menu promised! Like, great food on it's own, and next level deliciousness when you include the sauces and garnish. The drink menu was noted in a previous review and also looks perfect. A good wine selection rounds out a dining experience that you shouldn't pass up.

Food was amazing, drinks were great too. Cam was a great help with his suggestions. We got herb grilled chicken and cat fish. With a cosmo and Sweetwater IPA.

Blackened salmon and baked potato

It is a really cool restaurant with brick walls and cool lights. But, not only is it cute, but the food was really good and the waitress was friendly. I got blackened salmon and it was great, with a mashed potato that was soft and hot, and steamed broccoli. Husband had fries, which were great and wings, but I didn't try them. Would definitely go again

Friends suggested this place. They forewarned us it can be hit or miss depending on your server. Well - it was a Hit! Makenna was probably the best server we have ever had. She was very attentive to our drinks whether it was an iced tea or beer. Told us as we were looking at the menus that baked potatoes were about 25 minutes out so we could make an informed decision if we wanted to wait. We had the steak philly, Salmon BLT, Cajun chicken sandwich & fried Catfish. All were very good! Great first impression for us newbies! We will be back! Thanks Makenna for the great service too!

The Lazy Beagle is one of my favorite local restaurants - such a great addition Sweetwater's charming downtown. Most recently, Carmen was our server and we absolutely loved her - she was very kind, personable & was quick to take care of us as we celebrated my dad's birthday. The whole staff is incredible. If you haven't already definitely checkout The Lazy Beagle - you won't be disappointed!

Everything came to our table pipping hot. We had the fried green tomatoes, the club, and the notorious pig! Everything was fresh and didn't leave us feeling overly full and gross. The food and ambiance will bring us back but Olivia's service will keep us coming back. She understood the assignment. We told her we were hungry and she made things happen. She continuously checked on us but didn't hover. She was friendly and efficient. Service with a smile is always appreciated, thank you!

Not to mention we are regular guests which severing staff know us. Finally got seated. We had to ask for kids menu which we know were available (We're regulars). The host is not paying attention. I was well aware prices have gone up at least a dollar from the entire menu, and we do enjoy the food, but to set the expectation of "average" menus item being $14, and burgers $14.75-$16.75, you've got to do better. Thankfully the server made the entire experience great. She has served us multiple times and understands our special needs for our son. *We'll definitely be back, but I this industry will not survive "expecting" 20% and doing that to guests. (That servers we had will always get a generous tip from us) ***It's gong to come down to asking to be sat in specific server's section.

There's plenty of parking nearby so you don't have to walk far. This neat beer bar reminds me of the crowler shops that you used to find around Atlanta, with around 30 taps containing about a thrid local beer, so you can sample several local breweries without visiting each one (they're mostly not too near each other so this is very convenient). The taproom "beertender" seemed to be fairly knowledgeable regarding the various offerings - there's also a convenient list highlighting the different beers with style notes. We sat at the bar and were able to bring in some food from the nearby restaurants (I grabbed some wings at the nearby Marthie Ann's which were excellent). To drink I tried Hoptown's own Orange Mango Wheat - a somewhat basic wheat beer with hings of sweet tangerine and mango - nothing special. I had a Maine Brewing "Lunch" with the wings which is always a winner - it's an exceptional New England IPA. Service was great - I can see myself hitting Ooltewah just to come by for a break in driving.

It was a little chilly, but not quite "Ohio" chilly so we sat ourselves outside with a couple of hazy IPA aka Juice Bombs from Sloop Brewery. This brew pub is sandwiched between brick buildings: Stacks, a burger pub, on the right and another commercial building on the left. Across the street is the Police, so be warned, and don't get too funky. We asked if they had food and said no but it was ok to get some take out and eat it at their table or order from Stacks (what we did) and they bring it to your table from next door. Even better. Stacks' mushroom burger and stack cheese burger were very good too. We washed those down with another set of local IPAs called Southeast by Tailgate Brewery in Nashville, TN, also very good. Some of the tables have heating lamps which would have been nice as it got chillier. Not ours. But no sweat. This place does occasionally make their own beer as well but it's primarily a brew pub which sells other beer and canned beer from all over. I'm glad we had a chance to come. Now for the drive home. Thankfully we are less than 2 hours away. Atlanta here we come!
