I would recommend it for dessert and dining when in town. The staff is very friendly and warm always have a good time and a good meal.

We had a team dinner here after a sales training event. Excellent service delicious food intimate atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant for any kind of team meeting or even a date night. Surprisingly I t's located inside a Howard Johnson's hotel. However don't be deterred the service the food the quality is absolutely amazing please patronize this business. We will be back!

Pro tip: entry is through the doors under the black awning, proceed directly down the stairs. The restaurant is beneath a hotel but don't let that fool you, it's done nicely and the atmosphere is very nice once inside. We arrived in to town late and they were happy to have us. Our waitress, Brooke, was very enthusiastic and encouraging with our menu selections, which for the last table of the night, we were impressed to see. Service was fantastic as well. Everything came out great, though stirring the short rib Mac and cheese definitely made the difference, allowing the cheese and juices to fully compliment every bite. So if you order that app, definitely stir it up! It was a good stop and added to our "good to return" list/favorites! Can't go wrong here

Food: OMG... DELICIOUS. Came here on a college service trip and everyone was starving, but we pretty much finished everything (at least I know I did LOL). The pesto pasta I devoured, and as a peppermint ice cream lover whose favorite color is pink, this dessert was delicious as well. 11/10 food, if I'm ever back in the area I would go. Service: Servers were really friendly! Accommodated to our large party of college kids.

For starters... the restaurant is in the bottom of a "Howard Johnson inn" which is very different. But when you walk down the stairs you find this little restaurant with great lighting. Lighting that makes each table its own energy field. Our server was Emily. She was fantastic, my family can be a lot when we all go out together but she handled it very well and enthusiastically. We got a total of 2 apps, 5 entrees, 7 cocktails, and 4 desserts. EVERYTHING WAS 10/10. One of my new favorite restaurants. WOOHOO!

    Rack of lamb. Sooooo good!

I have been to the What If in Harrisburg and enjoyed it, so we came here with friends. We loved it! The ambiance is just right for us: dark around so you feel like you aren't on display, but nice lighting above each table so you can see each other and the menus. Our waitress was friendly and explained the happy hour specials as well as the menu specials. Our group of four shared the arancini and the fried pickles as our starters. The arancini were amazing and tasted just like a good risotto was inside these perfectly fried crispy jewels. The fried pickles were also very good and plentiful! I ordered the salmon special and---honestly--it was one of the best pieces of salmon I have ever had. The fish was incredibly moist and the glaze was a perfect balance of sweet & savory. The veggies were a great blend: brussels sprouts, green beans, sprouts, & broccoli and the rice had a very nice seasoning to it. My husband got the rack of lamb and it was perfectly prepared and a generous serving. The cocktails were all sublime and they had some wonderful flavor combinations to try. Happy hour is from 4:30 to 6:30 and have 1/2 price appetizers and drink specials. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we saved just enough room for dessert. Our friends shared the profiterole and we were all taken aback by how large the serving was! The peppermint ice cream was lovely. We split the peanut butter pie, but it was so rich that we couldn't quite finish that. The four of us had no complaints about our evening here and recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

There are two of these in the area, we weren't quite sure which one to hit, so we opted for the one closer to our hotel in Hershey. We arrived just as they were opening at 11:00 am for lunch. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the bartender and the server. They were the only two working up front, but it was fine; our entire time there, only one other table came in (this was on a Friday). The inside was nice, and we were seated by a fire. The only gripe I have is that the chairs seemed to be the wrong size/height for the tables. But other than that, the place looked good. My wife ordered a beer flight with an assortment of sours and a wheat. I went for the Annville IPA Bold Cask. It was a really, really good beer. Smooth, fully-bodied, and with a good amount of hops. Plus, it's 9.8%, so if you ask me, that's a great way to start off a lunch! The beer flight was decent, but more my wife's thing. Now onto the food. There were a lot of great choices, and we were starving, so of course, everything looked good. We always order for our six-year-old first so they can eat while we relax. We ordered him the hot dog and tots. For our apps, we ordered the Tator Tot Nachos: house cheese sauce, fresh pico, scallions, jalapenos, cilantro lime sour cream, and chicken. And also the smoked wings with hot sauce. I'm always a fan of tator tots, maybe it's because I never had them as a kid, or they really are that good. But these were perfect on a cold day in central PA when you're hungry. The right amount of salt on the tots, crispy exterior and creamy inside, plus the toppings (I love fresh jalapeño). The wings were okay, but this was to be expected. They're smoked, and as much as I love smoked food, you never get the skin crispy (especially on wings). They had a slight smoke flavor and a good sauce, but I'm a "well done" wing guy, so these I would pass on next time. By the time we were going to order lunch, my wife realized she was already full, and we still had a decent amount of food left. So she just picked at the appetizers. I was getting there myself, but I wanted to try a burger. I ordered the Pub Burger: 8 oz, Cooper Sharp, red pepper-bacon jam, dill pickle aioli, lettuce, brioche, and fries (because who can resist more fried potatoes). It came out perfectly medium rare as I ordered and seasoned well. I was apprehensive about the red pepper-bacon jam; I'm not a fan of sweet, but in this case, it worked. It was a great burger (although I only ate a quarter of it). The service was good, and she was very personable and polite. But one thing that was strange. She was on the phone almost the entire time we were there with whom she said was the owner (or maybe a manager). We heard her discussing the reservations and large parties coming in. This was a long call, and while I know there wasn't a lot going on in the restaurant, we felt at times we needed something, and she was busy talking. I'm not blaming her; if it were the owner or manager, they should certainly know better and keep it short. But when she was there, she was great. All in all, a great recommendation from a friend that we are happy we stopped to try. We will be back again, maybe sooner than our annual trip to Hershey!

We've eaten here a few times before and have always had great meals, so we wanted to bring our friends to experience this hidden gem. I made a 5:00 p.m. reservation, and we arrived right on time. We were seated a few minutes early, which was a nice start to the evening. Our server greeted us promptly with water and then returned to take our drink order. My wife ordered the Dragon Fruit cocktail, I had the Rye Old Fashioned, and our friends enjoyed the Watermelon Refresher and the Black Walnut Old Fashioned. For dinner, our friends ordered the salmon and the burger with fries. My wife and I shared the Green Goddess Salad and the Korean BBQ Short Ribs. When our meals arrived, everything looked absolutely amazing. We all dug in, and every dish lived up to the presentation. Our friends said the salmon was fabulous, and the burger was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The Green Goddess Salad was fresh and delicious, but the star of the evening was definitely the Korean BBQ Short Ribs. They were incredibly tender, packed with flavor, and simply OMG good! Even though we were all full, we couldn't pass up dessert. We shared the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, and it was the perfect ending to an outstanding meal. From the drinks and food to the friendly service and atmosphere, Hidden Still Spirits continues to impress us. We're glad we brought our friends here, and they were just as impressed as we have been on our previous visits. We'll definitely be back again!

The place has a very casual, come-as-you-are bar-and-kitchen vibe, which fits the area well. Nothing felt overly polished or fancy, and that is not a criticism. It seemed like the kind of local spot where people can just show up, relax, and get a solid meal. The problem was the service on this visit. We showed up right around the breakfast-to-lunch transition and thought we had made it in time for breakfast, but apparently not. We got seated pretty quickly, which made it seem like things were moving along, but then we sat there for about 20 minutes with water glasses and no water, and really no meaningful attention at all. By the time someone finally came over with the water, we were already done and decided to head somewhere else down the street. It was also getting fairly loud while we were sitting there, and the staff seemed tired or stretched thin, so I would not be surprised if we caught the place at a bad moment, maybe during a shift change or just an awkward transition between breakfast and lunch. The restaurant was busy, which usually says something good, and the food we saw going to other tables looked pretty solid. That is why I landed on 3 out of 5. This was not a bad experience in the usual sense. It was more of a non-experience. We never got far enough to judge the food, and I do not think it would be fair to hammer the place over one oddly timed visit. But sitting that long without even getting water was enough for us to leave.

Named after the year the historic hotel opened its doors, the space boasts a stunning ambiance--complete with a beautiful stained-glass ceiling and gorgeous views--but the real star of the show is the menu. We kicked off the night with two incredible starters. The meatloaf sliders, made with rich Bow Creek Angus beef and topped with a perfectly balanced BBQ glaze and cheddar, were pure comfort food elevated to gourmet status. Right alongside them, the beef carpaccio (also using local Bow Creek beef) was an absolute standout. It was beautifully delicate, brightened up with a shallot-caper dressing, pickled onions, and a finishing touch of grana padano and smoked sea salt. For the main course, 1933 proves it can compete with any high-end chophouse. The steaks are expertly prepared, boasting a flawless sear on the outside while remaining incredibly tender and juicy on the inside. You can taste the premium quality of the cuts with every single bite. Of course, you can't visit a resort in the Sweetest Place on Earth without indulging in a bit of chocolate. To drink, the chocolate martini is a masterclass in mixology--decadent, velvety, and smooth without being cloyingly sweet. We doubled down on dessert with the chocolate cream pie, featuring a rich, silken filling and an effortlessly flaky crust that made for the perfect final note to an exceptional meal.Between the historic nods, the phenomenal steakhouse execution, and top-tier service, 1933 has quickly cemented itself as a must-visit dining destination in Hershey.

Ask…read moreabout Nathan, the server we had, and that 5-star food gets dragged straight down to a 2-star overall experience. We eat in the Hershey area constantly and are spoiled by the genuinely phenomenal service you get at Hershey Entertainment restaurants. Nathan wasn't just below that bar -- he was the worst server we've ever had, anywhere, full stop. Rude. Unprofessional. Completely incompetent. Somehow all three at once. We'd been looking forward to trying this newer Hershey spot, and Nathan singlehandedly torched the whole experience. First, the wait: over an hour for our food, on a slow Sunday evening with a half-empty dining room. Not a busy kitchen slammed on a Saturday night -- a quiet Sunday. There is no version of that wait that's defensible. Then the mistakes started stacking up, one after another. We'd told the restaurant at the time of our reservation that two people in our party had birthdays that week, specifically because this place advertises chocolate-covered strawberries for birthday guests -- it's part of why we chose it. Nathan never mentioned it, never brought it, never acknowledged it. Just dropped, like it never happened. We asked three separate times for boxes to take our leftovers home. Three times. For boxes. One of our burgers was supposed to come with chips -- it didn't, and Nathan never so much as offered to fix it. Then the carrot sticks. We asked for a side of carrot sticks for one of our kids, and Nathan told us they don't carry those -- despite having just delivered wings to our own table with a side of carrot sticks sitting right there on the plate. Instead of correcting himself, he brought fries instead and charged us for them, on top of the side that should have been included with the meal. So not only did he lie about not having what we asked for, he swapped in something else without telling us and billed us extra for it. That's the one thing we bothered flagging for the manager -- we simply didn't have the bandwidth left to fight every other failure after an hour-plus with exhausted kids who needed to get to bed. The manager, to her credit, moved fast: she got the carrot sticks out right away and pulled the fries off our bill. But that was the last we saw of her. No follow-up, no check-in to see if anything else needed fixing, nothing. She solved the one problem we raised and then disappeared, while every other issue -- the strawberries, the boxes, the missing chips -- just sat there unresolved. The food is genuinely excellent, and that makes this harder, not easier. A meal this good deserved a server who could handle the basics, and a birthday celebration deserved better than an hour of forgotten requests, invented shortages, and a surprise upcharge on food that was never supposed to cost extra. My wife's willing to give the restaurant another shot. I'm far less convinced -- and if we do go back, it won't be with Nathan.
