I contacted Mozena Medical for repairs on my aging Hoyer lift, which had an oil leak. From the start, I felt the process was oriented toward getting me to replace my equipment rather than repair it -- despite my repeated insistence that it likely just needed oil. They did complete the actual repair, but left the job unfinished: the oil was never refilled and the bolts were never re-tightened. Multiple parts of the lift were loose and unstable when they handed it back to me. I raised this concern several times while they were still engaged, and was dismissed each time. Their solution was to apply my $850 toward a new machine -- which would have cost me an additional $500 out of pocket. Ultimately, a handyman friend tightened the bolts and refilled the jack oil. The lift worked perfectly after that. Two simple steps that should have been part of any competent service call. What concerns me most is the safety implication. This is a lift that raises a person into the air. Had I used it with loose bolts before my friend intervened, I could have fallen and been seriously injured. When I kept telling them something wasn't right, the response was indifference. That's a troubling attitude for a company working with disabled and medically vulnerable clients. The underlying repair may well have been sound -- but an incomplete job isn't a finished job. I wanted to be able to rely on them for future service, and I genuinely can't recommend them based on this experience. read more

Service was above and beyond expectations. We needed to rent a wheelchair ramp for a guest and, shortly before the guest's arrival the company that was supposed to provide it shut its doors and went out of business. We called around and finally found Mozena. They brought one to the property based on our measurements of the space, but we got it wrong and the first one they brought didn't work for the location. On their own initiative they contacted other vendors, found what we needed and arranged to bring it the same day. Employees were polite and extremely helpful. Steve and the staff of Mozena Medical have consistently provided exemplary service to our family. When our dad needed a new walker, Steve arranged for a staff member, Sanjay, to come member to let us into the store on a Sunday, when it was closed, so I wouldn't have to make a separate trip from Los Angeles. Sanjay was very patient and kind as our dad tested several walkers and selected one that is stable and with which he is very comfortable. The staff member then assisted us in loading the walker into my car. As our dad's wheelchair, which we purchased several years ago from Mozena Medical, has needed minor repairs and adjustments, they have sent staff over to our dad's assisted living facility to evaluate and fix it and have even delivered new cushions. They are very responsive and follow through on commitments, and we feel very fortunate to have their support! read more

I have used Mozena twice when I visited Catalina Island and needed a scooter. My experience with them has been nothing but amazing. Steve and his employees were proficient, and so pleasant to deal with. They delivered the scooter to me at the Catalina Express terminal and picked it up there 4 days later. They were there at our agreed upon time for both delivery and pick up. I know a ton of people noticed they were pricing things really messed up in this pandemic, and I think this place is awful for doing that. The reason for this positive review is that the worker was really helpful, I got what I needed in a time I was in pain. I fractured my left hand and the right hand was a compound fracture (wrist), meaning I had no ability to use my hands. Stupid things happen when I go outside, I fell down the stairs. So 6 weeks in casts sucks, you can't do anything and I remember being so bored I wanted to play a game or something but I'm so used to using my hands to function. I got used to it, by week 2 everything feels the same, you can't put your hands in your pocket (which is addicted) and you can't touch things. I thought I had a good idea of using the bathroom and showering, but I eventually got a nasty rash. I went to CVS and Rite Aid, then I looked up medical supplies, basically to get something that got rid of the rash. So I got the cream and noticed the were diapers in my size, I got a bag of what appeared to be some good kind (Abena). I had a lady and a guy come to my house during the day, just to change me and cook and clean. After 2 weeks it was fine, and one of the guys found a thing to change me (it's like a mousse) that makes clean up easier. By the 5th week I was able to play games and clean myself, I still stuck with wearing diapers till the casts were removed, that was over a month but it felt amazing to finally be able to use my hands. I would have suffered if I didn't know about this place, so for that reason alone it's why I rate it so high. The worker recommended a few other items, I only spent $80 there but it felt good to be treated with dignity. read more

I broke my ankle in 3 places and the injury required surgery. I knew my doctor had ordered a hospital bed and wheelchair and I tried to get but never received information on how to receive the items. So I called Mozena and an employee named Jesus helped me over the phone and said he would deliver the two pieces the day of my surgery. Jesus did what he promised. He is so warm, friendly and knowledgeable that Mozena is very very lucky to have him on staff. And he is an excellent salesman. Well the day after Jesus delivered the items, my insurance called and said they could deliver the items! So I told Jesus the situation. I told Jesus I would give them $100 for a 2 day rental so I could get the items from my insurance. I paid Mozena $225 for the items and would have to pay my insurance only $25. The owner refused my offer and I am stuck overspending to rent this old bed and the wheelchair. My offer was generous. The owner would make $100 for a two day rental and could re-rent the items to another customer. This situation left me with a very bad impression of Mozena and I will never give him business and I will never refer anyone to Mozena. I made an effort to give my business to the small company in a very competitive field, but it didn't matter because the owner was inflexible even when the situation was to his benefit. read more

I had a total hip replacement one month ago and the day I got home from the hospital, I called around for a lift chair. After a string of "we don't deliver" or high-priced gouging, I called Mozena and spoke with Steve. WOW! Not only knowledgeable and helpful, but compassionate and eager to help. I have my chair THAT DAY, and without ridiculous delivery charges. My month rental concluded today, and the chair was picked up, no muss no fuss. I have been coming here for over 3 years to get needs equipment for a loved one. Until today I had trusted them explicitly but that changed today I needed supplies among them was face mask ($4.99 per), gloves 100 for $30.99 and the topper was aI purchase- 4oz bottle of sanitizer and the price was $13.99 ! It just keeps getting better and better with Mozena Medical Supplies. Since my first review, we have used Mozena Medical again. Unfortunately, my mother's hospital bed is old and parts are hard to come by. Recently, one of the rails had to be replaced. Mozena was able to order the part and have it replaced in a couple of weeks. All is well now and we will definitely be using them again when and if the need arises. They may have had a slow start per my earlier review but they definitely are having a strong finish. Trevor truly cares about customer service and is willing to work with you. A few weeks ago I spent over an hour on the phone calling at least five Medical Supply stores in search of a specific item. Every place I called gave me a simple "No- we don't carry that item...... Until I came to Mozena. A wonderful gentleman named Jesus gave me the same answer, but took my number got back to me with some possibilities. I was in need of a back brace and this store is around the corner from my house, so I stopped in to browse. Right off the bat, I was impressed with the professional and warm vibe from Jesus, the employee on duty. He immediately asked me if I needed help and proceeded to patiently walk me through my options. He was understanding and compassionate when I explained that I was unable to afford the product he was recommending, and kindly suggested a cheaper alternative for me. He also helped me apply the product, something that was hard to do myself. After I was finished with my purchase, I had more questions for him about another product, which he answered without hesitation. I needed to acquire a wheelchair for an out-of-town visitor for the day. It was as easy as my typing in "wheelchair rental long beach", and was the first site that came up. Their website was easy and intuitive. When I called, the owner, Steve Mozena answered the call, and answered all questions I had. He checked with me to make sure I knew where they were located to pick up the chair. He also double-checked to make sure I only needed it for one day, because he would have given me a lower rate if I needed it for longer. I was able to pay with a credit card over the phone, no hassle. We were given till 5pm the following day to return the chair. The brace I got was half the price as the one that I was looking at at the medical supply on Atlantic. I have used Mozena two times now to help with my almost 98 year old fancy hospital bed. I found them on the internet and they were so helpful on the phone and scheduled an appointment the next business day. Understanding the my Mom was dependent on the bed, they brought a loaner while they repaired her bed at the shop, all very quickly. The next visit was just as professional with Nick ( I may have gotten his name wrong) repaired a sheered bolt and provided me insight to provide the manufacturer with information on the condition of the bolts. First impressions are so important and from the first phone call, to the technicians, to the billing follow-up, al; were done in a friendly and professional manner. The employees at Mozena are very helpful, professional, and polite. We needed a specific kind of adult diaper for an injured relative. They did not keep it in stock, but said they could order it for us. Two days later, they called to let us know the order arrived. Unfortunately, the diapers were a little small because the rehab center told me the wrong size to order. The guys at Mozena took the bags that weren't opened and exchanged them for a larger size at no charge. This place is great! read more

I was in need of repairing my grandmother's scooter. I contacted a different shop via telephone and they told me they had the part that I needed...I drove out to them and the part was not there. They asked me to come back the following Monday and I did, only to find the part was still not there! They were going to have me drive out to a different location, but instead I did a general search for Medical Supplies and called a few shops that were closer. When I called Mozena and spoke to Steve, he seemed knowledgeable and helpful. He said he wasn't sure if he had the right part, or if he would be able to install the part, since his technician was out that day; but that he would be happy to take a look. His pricing was in line with all the other quotes I was getting, so I went over. Despite the fact that the part was not correct, I did not feel misled at all. He did his best to help in the moment and then, he said he would send his technician to my house the following day as part of regular service that they offered to support their older clients. I didn't expect that & appreciated that I wouldn't have to make another trip to the shop. His technician went over, as agreed, made the installation, & checked to make sure it was working properly!
