Larry is by far the best handyman around. While you cant please everyone Larry will do his best to do so. He has done several projects for me over the last year and was great each time. He is Trustworthy which is the most important part of dealing with a contractor or handyman. When he made mistakes, he came back and fixed them without charging. I have used Larry for a few different jobs at my home and in my experience he was very professional, fair and he did quality work. Specifically he did some roof repair and has replaced two of my exterior doors. My experience with Larry comes after experiences with other handyman that either charge too much or didn't do outstanding work. I was a little unsure if I should use a handyman to do roof repair, but all of the roof companies were either way too expensive or totally booked up for months as a result of all the El Nino hype. And the doors that needed replacing were actually kind of challenging jobs. He needed to tear out the moulding and piece it back together, and the other door needed intense sanding on ceramic flooring material to fit the new door. What I really like about Larry's work is that he can deal with surprises. If you've done home repair, you know that once you get into the middle of a job that you'll have to deal with issues you didn't anticipate. I get the sense that Larry has done repair work for a long time and that he has all the equipment and know how to deal with whatever comes up. Larry is also pretty busy, but I would interpret this as a good sign. He is solo and many people request him, so be ready to work with his schedule and possibly wait a week or two and be persistent in setting up a time and date for a visit. It's worth it in the end. Do you really want a handyman that has a wide open schedule? He will also give you an estimate up front...but that is subject to tweaking because there are always slight changes that are sometimes necessary. I needed Larry to fix 2 sets of closet doors. I really like using Larry because he gives you options. We had some projects around the house that needed handling, so we contacted Larry. He spoke to my husband and arranged to come out to give us an estimate. He was very personable and friendly. His estimate was a bit high, but he worked with us on the actual price. It took a few tries to get him out to the house... weather, illness, things happen. When he did come out, he was knowledgable and got the work done well. He had good ideas for troubleshooting too. All in all, we were satisfied with the work. My only suggestion is to be sure you ask him to cover his work area. Due to some rain, he needed to use some sawing equipment in my garage. Nothing was covered and I had to spend some time vacuuming up saw dust and wiping things down. Just be sure to request covering before a job. read more

I found Larry when I researched his business after seeing his ad posted on his truck. I gave the information to my son who lives close by and needed his bathtub area retiled. My son liked the reviews and gave Larry a call. Larry offered good advice about the different options and emailed his estimate quickly. During removal of the old tile, he was able to show how poor the quality of the workmanship had been in the past. No one would have ever known how badly the wall was protected because it was covered with tile, and if there had been any leakage behind the tile it would have created terrible problems. Larry knew exactly how to replace the backing to protect the wall and after inspecting the rest of the back walls, reassured us that there had been no leakage prior. He was done in a timely manner and cleaned up after his work. The tile looks beautiful. He replaced the showerhead and faucet . He was friendly and honest and conscientious. Larry was very cordial when he came to our home to review the work we wanted done which was a 3-bath re-do, keeping the same footprint in all 3 baths. It involved demo work, re-tiling and essentially re-attaching the plumbing. He got back to me quickly with his proposal, but when I received the proposals from other contractors and comparing them, I was shocked at his charges--he was TWICE as much as the others! Since his proposal was rather vague and thinking we might be missing something, I asked him questions regarding the shower work and to break down his proposal more. When he emailed me, he was rather condescending in his response. He never got back to us with a more detailed proposal. Needless to say, I am saving thousands of $ by getting contractors in specific disciplines such as tile work, etc. From his other reviews it appears he is capable of doing the work, but needs a little work on the estimating end and answering legitimate questions to justify his work. read more
