Blackened haddock sandwich special with chimichurri slaw and sauces
    Ashley M.

Mixed feeling about this place. The food was cooked well and the service didn't take too long, but the best part is the view and seating area! The lobster was market price but we have since learned there are much cheaper places in the area to get lobster. The coleslaw on the other hand was a waste of time and energy on their part - cabbage with maybe a touch of mayo, not even enough to bind it and absolutely no flavor. The blackened haddock sandwich special on the other hand was much better. The bun was enough to support all of the ingredients they put on the sandwich, but really it didn't need all of that. The fish alone carried the show and a thinner bun with less toppings would have been well worth the $17 as it was so flavorful and a great portion. They do have a store to by their merchandise, ice cream and drinks available as well. A very nice spot to sit and eat outside

    the perfect lunch!

Delicious with a great view. I went on the way back from a hike at Barred Owl Preserve.

Absolutely beautiful park to eat in, food looked great but tasted like a McDonald's fish fillet sandwhich, cost $80.

The food is fabulous!! The staff is friendly and attentive. And there is more than just lobster or clams they make a "mean" thick juicy burger as well as a super Deluxe BLT. Can't say enough about the Sweet Potato Fries that are heavenly. All of this with a great view of the Deer Isle Sedgwick Bridge over Eggemoggin Reach.

    Yum!

Very casual place to just sit by the water and enjoy a great cold lobster roll or delicious steamers. Bring the kids for a nice selection of ice cream. Be prepared though for seasonal pricing. Lobster rolls are $25 and come with chips, pickle and slaw. Bring your own beer or wine!

My family is in the area looking at housing as I may be relocating for work. We come to MDI every year and were here 8 weeks ago. Now we are staying Downeast Just across the bridge from LDI. After house hunting, on our way back to the Oakland House Inn (another 5 star review), we decided to head across the bridge to Deer Isle for a late lunch. The setting is stunning! Beautiful grounds, nicely spaced out picnic tables, lots of shade, and incredible views. Far better views than any of the lobster pounds on MDI. The food- one word for a typical NE shack by the water- excellent! Best lobster roll I've had in the area, and I've tried many. Loaded with perfectly cooked lobster, a little mayo, and a bit if drizzled butter, all on a butter grilled bun- heaven! The ahi Tina sandwich with wasabi aioli was rare, spicy, and scrumptious with a perfectly toasted brioche bun. My kid's burger was medium, grilled well, and devoured in mere moments. To top it off, the sweet potato fries were crispy and nicely salted, along with horseradish spiced coleslaw made for great sides. I believe you can BYOB, so plan accordingly. We will, when we return tomorrow for an encore. It's a bit pricier than the other places of a similar ilk, but we felt it was worth it. After all, when on vacation it's only play money anyway.

This place was very charming! It had a swing for kids, it was friendly to dogs, it had delicious food and it had a beautiful view. We appreciated that each table has supplies for cleaning during these pandemic times. Great crab cakes!!

This is the very best lobster roll I've ever had. I've eaten lobster rolls wherever I find them. I've made my own. This is still the best. No filler, just unadulterated fresh lobster. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

The whole atmosphere felt rushed, tense, and honestly rude at times. We had a reservation for 4, but were seated at two separate tables with a support pole between us, making it hard to even talk to each other. A few minutes after we sat down, three actual 4-top tables opened up, so we politely asked if we could move before we had even ordered. That simple request was met with way more hostility than it should have been. They did move us, but I then overheard an older woman on staff complaining to her coworkers about the fact that we had asked. Meanwhile, over an hour later, there were still open 4-top tables, so the attitude over such a reasonable request made even less sense. What made it especially disappointing is that this was my son's birthday dinner, and the vibe was so uncomfortable that I honestly felt like I couldn't even mention it or ask them to celebrate him because we already felt like a burden just for asking to sit together as a family. The service was also painfully slow. It took about 25 minutes for someone to even take our drink order, another 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive, and after being there for an hour we still had no food. Our waters were never refilled either. Basic things like checking in on the table or refilling water shouldn't be a stretch, especially when customers are already waiting that long. When the food finally came, my wife ordered the mushroom ravioli and it just wasn't very good. I mentioned it, and there was no apology, no concern, and no offer to take it off the bill or make it right. It was just met with indifference, which pretty much summed up the whole experience. To make things worse, we could repeatedly hear staff talking badly about other customers. That alone creates a terrible atmosphere, because if they're comfortable doing that within earshot of diners, you can't help but assume they're doing the same thing about you. The frustrating part is that the food looked promising, and we came in wanting to have a nice family dinner. Instead, we spent the night feeling uncomfortable, ignored, and like we were inconveniencing the staff just by being there. For what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner, it was a huge letdown.

Service was excellent; food was amazing! We started with local oysters that were tasty and fresh. Then my husband had the cod with crispy rice and I decided to pick 2 starters as my mains; the tuna crudo and lobster hand roll. All great! Topped it off with a chocolate ganache with the most intense strawberry coulis I've tested in a while; it was fingerlicking good! All people we met were super friendly and helpful, so definitely would recommend stopping in Bucks restaurant when you're in the area.

Bright, clean, cheerful decor with Maine art on the walls. Our server who was pleasant, willing and very attractive just graduated from high school with no experience still did a terrific job of meeting all our needs. The food was beautiful and very tasty. My cod was poached in a bright acidic ponzo flavored sauce was cooked perfectly with the silken texture which is hard to achieve except with very exact cooking. It was served over cooked scallions and was one of the best things I have eaten this summer. Simple salad was fresh and perfect. 2 pieces of toasted sourdough bread was an extra charge. Lasangna was vegetarian with a slightly spicy fresh tomato sauce and a generous portion attractively presented. For dessert we has a outstanding grapefruit sorbet and a luscious blueberry sauced tres leches cake. We had an overall great experience and the new young and friendly owners have done a wonderful transformation of well beloved restaurant.
