Lobster Quesadilla and Basket of Fries
    Albert A.

If you are anywhere around Acadia National Park, add this to your lunch list. This little mobile lobster truck serves up some of the best food you'll have on your trip. Located in a veteran's memorial park, right on the marina, this spot is perfectly situated for a lovely relaxing afternoon. There's ample picnic seating, and there's tons of lush grass around as well if you prefer sitting on the ground. The Bucking Lobster seemed to just have one woman manning the truck, taking orders and cooking them up quickly. She was undoubtedly highly skilled as the food came out pretty quickly under the conditions and tasted amazing. Lobster Quesadilla & Fries - First off, the accompanying sauces are amazing. The sour cream had a bit of lime juice in it, which made every bite delicious; the salsa was incredible as well. The quesadillas have plenty of cheese and lobster. Highly recommend these as something a little different, as I had my fill of lobster rolls from other restaurants. The fries were crisp and seasoned well with Old Bay. An all-around great meal from this small business. Value: 4/5 Quality: 5/5 Quantity: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

Hot buttered lobster roll with chips and a blueberry lemonade

This was a super cute little food truck run by Mani and Dan. When we arrived, there was a little lunch rush. It seemed it was only Mani cooking and taking orders but our food came out fast and fresh! It was impressive! I ordered a hot butter lobster roll which came with chips. The food was prepared fresh and it was delicious, so buttery! The blueberry lemonade was refreshing on a relatively hot day. There were a few tables under a tree which was a perfect place to eat our lunch! Definitely recommend!

Had the most delicious lobster roll today, SO fresh! And really good fries a bonus! Mani, the owner, was in the back preparing the food. You can tell great care has been taken to make this place really special. We ate while looking out on the water. Highly recommend!

Drove around outside. Acadia National park and stumbled upon this gem in the harbor. We always look to eat local and good and this truck hit the spot. Got some lobster rolls and seltzers and sat on the shore to enjoy. My kind of food truck.

Buttered lobster roll was great! They offered an option with a lettuce wrap instead of bread, too. Absolutely loved the fries - perfectly cooked and delicious seasoning.

There was a long line at the door to order but the line moved fairly quickly. After ordering you seat yourself and your food is brought to the table. We sat in the bar area which was very nice. It seemed like all menu items except for lobsters could be ordered from the bar directly so if you are not planning to order a lobster this could help you skip the long line. We had one lobster dinner and one sandwich with a blueberry cider and strawberry rhubarb margarita. The food was great and service was friendly. Prices seem standard for the area.

We sat right on the dock and ordered live lobster, which is cooked fresh on site. Be prepared to wait a bit, but it is absolutely worth it. The lobster was the best we had the entire trip, enjoyed with ocean views and a beautiful sunset. One tip: get the blueberry pie if they aren't sold out. We ordered a few to share and immediately regretted not getting our own because it was that good. By the time we realized, they were already sold out for the night.

Desert Island's Somes Sound--alone, but the service and food were fantastic, too. We stopped in for a late lunch / early dinner during our Acadia vacation based on a recommendation from a co-worker and we are very glad we did. I had the fish sandwich with fries and a specialty cocktail made with bourbon, ginger beer and honey (I forget the name). The fish sandwich came for way more than enough perfectly cooked haddock and a crunchy and delicious beer-batter crust. The fries we excellent, too (they can so easily be bland and boring, but these were not!) The cocktail was ice-cold (perfect for this hot summer day) and delicious, if a little sweet. My partner had the Mediterranean Plate which came with Grilled Flat Bread, Hummus, Tzatziki, Marinated Cucumber Salad, Marinated Olives, and Feta. She loved all 'the subtle and distinct flavors that went together so well!' Note that Batson River Fish Camp has two locations and is part of Batson River Brewing and Distilling. This location is on the beautiful grounds of the Claremont Hotel in Southwest HarbFor, ME.

First, you need to secure a water taxi since Cranberry Island can only be accessed via boat. I suggest you make friends because the taxi is one price for up to 6 passengers. Once we arrived (short 10 minute trip) I fell in love with the vibe of the restaurant and the island. We started with delicious oysters and perfectly made cocktails. I opted for the appetizer shrimp scampi with a side of seasoned fries, which were even better dipped in the garlic butter! My husband had the scallops and while I don't typically like the texture of scallops, his were buttery and delicious. I'm so glad we were able to visit this iconic place during our trip to Maine! We will definitely be back next time we return to hike Acadia.

We sat at the bar. The cool breeze through the windows, coming off the water, was magnificent. The mussels were delicious (we ordered fries to go with these) and the beet salad as well as the spicy tuna salad were terrific. The Margo-rita was reportedly awesome and I tried the Dark 'n Stormy which was quite tasty. The service was fantastic. Could not have been better. Despite being on an island, accessible only by boat or air, if staffing shortages are an issue, no such issues were noted. The entire dining experience was pleasant, enjoyable, and the service was terrific!

It's a fisherman-owned shack right on the bay -- informal, friendly, and exactly the kind of unpretentious Maine spot you hope to run into. Honestly, everything we ordered was excellent, so it's hard to single out just one thing. The hot-butter lobster roll was soft, fresh, and generous -- better than the other lobster rolls we'd had on the trip (I paid a little extra for hot butter over the cold/mayo version and would do it again). The lobster empanadas were a nice surprise: crispy from being fried, and while there's some filler beyond the lobster, the meat-to-filling ratio is good and the added flavor works -- I'd order those again. The clam chowder was rich and creamy without being gluey. Bonus points for the kids: a Lego play table kept ours happily occupied, and they did simple cheese quesadillas the kids actually ate. I also had a Pulp Truck IPA from Marsh Island Brewing -- which is what we would call a "Hazy IPA" or "New England IPA" on the West Coast, but here is simply an IPA. Regardless, it was quite good. We'd would definitely eat here again.
