Great ingredients, great drinks, great chef and great service... what else would you want? One of the best dinner places in Cincinnati right now

Excellent! Our dinner here last night was fabulous. After ordering cocktails - we ordered the Escargot and Salmon Tartare for appetizers. While we sipped our cocktails we were brought some French bread and butter to nibble on. It was quite good, both fresh and warm. The appetizers were awesome! The escargot were done perfectly and the salmon tartare delicious with the lemon dressing. My husband ordered the Steak Frites and I ordered a special - a Filet. They were prepared exactly how we asked and were excellent. The service was great too!

Great food & service - last min bite with a friend who had never been to La Bar A Boeuf. We had the Pumpkin Ravioli, Crab Cakes & Salmon Appetizer then shared the Short Rib Entree. All delish! We ordered: Pumpkin Ravioli stuffed with ricotta, sautéed spinach, oyster mushroom & thyme brown butter Crab Cakes with cabbage slaw Salmon tartare with potato croquette, onion crème, radish, egg mimosa & frisée Short Ribs with parsnip purée, crimini mushroom, rapini, roasted carrot, caramelized shallot finished with red wine demi-glace - we specifically asked for the meat to be served separately

My Mr. was researching best French restaurants in the Cincinnati area. He wanted to take me out for early Valentines dinner. This came up and of course it's owned by Jean-Robert. So you know I was looking forward to that! It's located at the Edgecliff building. You can park in front of the building (which is limited) or in the garage. The view from the restaurant is amazing. Overlooking the hills and homes of Cincy. The inside is very cozy and inviting. Love the cow theme! My Mr made reservations on a Saturday night. We were seated right away. Top notch service! Our server was excellent! Very detailed and down to earth. Menu is small yet everything looks delish! So hard to choose! We ended up ordering: Escargot Bernard Baudry Chinon Cabernet Franc Petite filet mignon (chef's special) Halibut (chef's special) Parfait (chef's special) All were specials for the night. I liked that Jean-Robert based the meals with The Cincinnati Bengals theme. Since they are playing the Super Bowl this year. Plus it gives us a reason to come back and try the other items on the menu. Wow! So we started off with the escargot. I was blown away! The garlic and lemon breading was amazing! It had great flavor. It paired well with the wine! We got our meals and I am in loss for words! The best filet mignon I've ever had because the sauce and the veggies that went with it. Comfort food at its best. It was like eating homemade roast beef but better. I had a taste of my Mr's Halibut and it was flaky and just melted in my mouth. I was even scraping the sauce on my bread! It was that good. At the end I wanted more! So I saved room for dessert. The parfait was divine! Next time I want to try the crime brûlée! I want to add that our server was nice enough to take our picture outside overlooking the Cincy view. Thank you! Okay... we are coming back! Such a wonderful experience! Everything was perfect!

Definitely a delicious experience in a beautiful space. We came close to sunset and had a lovely view of the river. There were quite a number of specials that the server ably rattled off- perhaps too many as we had a hard time remembering what ingredients went in which dish. It was little details like this that made the experience more of a 4.5 star experience instead of a 5 star one. Our table began with a special starter of short ribs, local grits, and shaved black truffles. It was beautifully sauced and flavorful with balanced truffle flavor. The plate was fully cleaned! We also had lobster Mac and cheese to share. Done in French style with silky sauce, any of the Mac and cheese choices would make a great main choice. My dinner was also one of the evening's specials- venison! I don't often have a chance for venison and it didn't disappoint. It was perfectly cooked with a nice sear. Sauces poured at the table were a nice touch. For dessert we had both the creme brûlée and chocolate pot de creme. Creme brûlée was good but standard. That pot de creme though- rich and decadent, it was a great ending to the meal.

The bar scene itself was very boring, honestly one of the least interesting bar dining experiences I've had in a while. The food was mediocre and not memorable. The only dish I clearly remember, and probably the only one I would order again, was the watermelon salad. Everything else was fine at best, but nothing stood out or made me want to come back. I'm honestly surprised this restaurant is getting James Beard recognition. There are so many better places in the area, such as Colette, Baker's Table, and most notably Grist in Dayton, that feel far more deserving and seem to be overlooked. It makes me wonder if Wildweed has some kind of connection or ownership that helps it get more attention, because based on this visit, I don't see it.

I was greeted at the door with a small menu to precede the course themes and a glass of delicious sparkling wine. The restaurant was very warm, welcoming, and artistic. The mushrooms on the wall were stunning, and the themed pictures throughout gave it a down to earth feel. Everyone was so kind and the service was impeccable. I started the meal with a hot towel to clean my hands - it was this moment I knew I came for a treat. Each course was brought out in a timely manner, and explained thoroughly. The food was beautiful, complex, flavorful, and hearty. Each dish was crafted so meticulously. I could taste the passion for their craft with each bite. The drinks were also made perfectly. Overall, this was right in line with many Michelin starred restaurants I have dined in. I can't wait to come back and try the dining room menu. I hope that our city can support this restaurant and they will stay for a while. I'd love to come back for the chef's experience again when they seasonally change their menu. Thanks for a memorable meal, Wildweed.

From the moment we arrived, the hostesses were warm and accommodating, and the service throughout the meal was attentive without ever feeling intrusive. As someone with gluten allergies, I felt genuinely cared for. The team listened closely and offered recommendations that never felt like a compromise on flavor or creativity. We began with a dirty chai latte, aromatic and comforting, though I personally would have enjoyed a touch more sweetness. The dirty French, customized gluten free, was rich, decadent and deeply satisfying. It felt indulgent in the best way and showcased the kitchen's ability to balance comfort with culinary intention. To go, we ordered the crunchy chicken nuggets, fries and lemon ricotta pancakes. The fries were outstanding, perfectly crisp and addictive. My husband loved the pancakes, light and flavorful with a bright citrus note. The gluten free nuggets were enjoyable, though they did not quite reach the level I expected compared to the rest of the menu. Overall, Sacred Beast offers a dining experience where hospitality and thoughtful cooking meet effortlessly. If you prefer a quieter setting, then eating in the bar is your best bet because the dining rooms do get loud. We started with the east/west coast oysters and they were so fresh. The passion fruit mignonette was the perfect compliment. I kept scooping out tiny spoonfuls and drinking it after we finished the oysters. The Fluke Crudo was fantastic. The combo of flavors and textures was a delight for the palate. The scallops over the miso leek risotto was one of the best scallop dishes we have ever eaten. The scallops were huge and cooked perfectly and there were plenty of pieces of leek in a lovely, smooth risotto. We're not a fan of hijiki, so the chef prepared the risotto without it - Thanks Chef Jose! And you would think chicken schnitzel would be basic, but not this dish. The chicken was so moist, perfectly seasoned, and pan fried in butter. We asked for the sauce on the side because we knew we wouldn't finish the big piece and wanted to heat it up later and still be crispy (which we did). We were amazed that eating the chicken, almond, asparagus, and some sauce in one bite, was SO good. The best two meals we have had in Cincinnati so far in 2026 have been here, and Mita's. Loved seeing some menu throwbacks to the previous restaurant. The rigatoni, beets, bread service, squash & fish were all delicious. Normally wouldn't expect that, but TWO tables next to us got a cake slice with a candle. It felt a bit rude to have our special night missed when others were acknowledged. Our table ended up ordering the chocolate cremeux which had the worst, over-smoked ice cream flavor any of us ever experienced -- mother of god. Not sure why that exists.

It's the rare restaurant that delivers quality without acting like it deserves a TED Talk for doing so. The food is consistently strong...like "you actually remember what you ordered tomorrow" strong. No foam experiments, no deconstructed nonsense, just dishes that taste like the chef respects both the cuisine and your wallet. In today's market, that's practically a miracle... or at least a manager who hasn't lost his mind. Service? Shockingly competent. The staff is attentive without hovering like a helicopter parent at a kindergarten recital. That doesn't happen by accident, the chef/owner is clearly a pro. A class act who hires well, trains properly, and....brace yourself...seems to care. I know, it's unsettling. The ambience hits that sweet spot: warm, relaxed, and just upscale enough that you feel like you made a good decision... but not so fancy that you're Googling "which fork do I use" under the table. And then there's the location, right next to The Blind Lemon. Honestly, you might find yourself rooting for a wait just so you can wander next door for a drink. It's the only time in life where bad timing actually improves your evening. Bottom line: This place doesn't try to impress you, it just does. Solid food, fair prices, great service, and an owner who runs a tight ship without making it feel like boot camp. In a world full of overhyped dining "concepts," this is something radical: a restaurant that simply works.
