Always love coming to my favorite restaurant in Mount Adams! Today I had the lobster bisque and the tabbouleh with chicken... dare I say the best two items on the menu?!?! I may have switched up on my beloved salmon dish and am cheating on the escargot. Truly anything you get here is guaranteed to be amazing and made with love. The perfect location for a relaxing brunch. The weather was beautiful, the courtyard was quiet, and it was just like being in Paris. The food was delicious, and the service was great. We visited on two consecutive Saturday mornings. We tried the Croque Madame, Avocado and Shrimp Salad, and the Ham and Cheese Omelet. Also, the delicious Tartine with Raspberry Jam. Everything was wonderful. And if you arrive before 11 am, you will likely find a parking spot on the one-way street in front of the bistro on the other side. This is a great find in Mt Adams! There was a bit of confusion over if this place takes reservations so we ended up next door at Blind Lemon for a half hour wait on a Wednesday but it was worth it. Run by a father/son team, the food was quality with unique French options. I ordered the tomato zucchini garlic tagliatelle as my choices were a bit limited as a vegetarian. It was delicious but would love to see another hot veggie entree to appeal to dietary restrictions. The cafe decor makes you really feel like you're in Paris but staff seemed a bit frantic, working hard to keep up with the crowd. A few of our food choices, like the tapenade trio and crème brûlée were already sold out so we'll have to come back earlier next time! read more

My partner and I went recently and think we might have came in on an off night. I got the tagliatelle pasta bolognese and he got the Bouchee a le reine. We both found our meals just okay; the chicken was overcooked and my sauce wasn't so flavorful. However, the wine was good and we loved the cozy/ intimate atmosphere, and the other reviews are consistently stellar. It's right next door to the blind lemon, and because the other menu items look intriguing, we think it's worth giving another chance and plan to come back for Valentine's Day weekend...3 stars for now! read more

We stopped for lunch on our way home from an event downtown. It was our first time visiting. The place is very cute and has A LOT of decorations by the way of live plants, pictures, and sports memorabilia. We sat in the brighter front room by the window. There were few folks in the place by the time we left at 1:10pm. Our server was very friendly and accommodating, but we wished he would have introduced himself (pet peeve of mine). We ordered the mussels and frites, the Poulet Basquaise, and a side of French green beans. The mussels were very traditional with a butter, white wine, garlic, celery, and onion prep, which is my favorite. I know fries are fries, but these were some of the best we have had in a long time. The Poulet (i.e. chicken dish) is like an open-faced chicken pot-pie with mushrooms, peas, bechamel, and puff pastry. It is true comfort food that we thought needed some acid or a touch of hot sauce. It is served with a huge bed of lettuce dressed in a balsamic vinaigrette and nothing else. The French green beans were tasty and garlicy, but were not true haricots verts. They were just green beans. Parking was easy because it was noon on a Weds., but I can see how it would be hard on the weekends. read more

long story short: a hidden gem Luca has become a staple in my family. We have gone many times, &, while the restaurant is often busy, we have never had to wait for a table. The servers are very kind & the atmosphere is great, filled with French tchotchkes & the chatter of happy diners. Finding parking in Mount Adams is a nightmare, but Luca is worth it. The steak frites is a winner; it's not the best steak of my life, but it is good & very well priced. We also love the chicken provençal & my dad orders the salmon every single time because he loves it so much. Their desserts & drinks are also great, so the evening is delicious from start to finish. What a fantastic place in mount adams. I visited numerous times for the tasty brunch and sat in the outdoor courtyard on all occasion- a must if it's nice weather out. The patio space looks like you've been transported to a small town in Provence with colorful facades and quaint tables, each adorned with a potted plant. The food was amazing and came out extremely fresh each time. Keep an eye out for the sandwiches and the salmon. These were both recommended by our servers who have never lead us astray. We stopped here recently and were pleasantly surprised. The decor is along the lines of eclectic, rustic French. Hubby thought it was neat that they had an Asterix book on the shelf next to us. He used to read it growing up. It was difficult to decide what to get because it all sounded so good. Hubby got his Moules Frites fix and not only enjoyed it, but got more than he usually gets at the other place he orders them. I had a very nice chicken dish with petit pois (small french peas), salad and fries too. It's hard to beat fries that are done perfectly. The steak au porvre was the star of the show. The sauce was so creamy but not too heavy. It was bursting with flavor. Came here on multiple occasions. Staple dishes are the steak and frites with sauce. The sauce compliments the steak and the steak is cooked/ seasoned perfectly. Occasionally The steak cut provided can be a bit on the fattier side. The frites a fantastic and lightly salted. The burger, cod and salmon are great options as well. The lobster bisque didn't have any lobster chunks in it, but had the aroma and taste of lobster and was properly seasoned. The service is hit or miss depending on the day and time you go. It has a wonderful French nostalgic ambiance with French movie/tv poster along with candles spaced out the restaurant and cute seating outside. This is one of my staple french restaurants in the Cincinnati area and a great place for a casual date/event night. read more

Third time here and Luca never disappoints! We come here every December to celebrate the end of another year. Noticed the fresh coat of red paint out front with the French flag waving high. Also love the outdoor patio in the back with low string lights that transport you to France -- need to come back in the summer. We were warmly greeted in the midst of the completely packed and busy restaurant at 7 PM. They took our number and told us they would call when the table was ready. Walked around Mt. Adams for about 15 min before we were called back. We were seated promptly and walked past other lively diners already enjoying their meals. Loved to see the refresh on the menus, simple and easy to navigate. Dakota, our server, was excellent! Checked in on us regularly despite the rush of other diners. Also explained items that were already sold out and gave us ample time to look over the menu. Not to mention, made a pretty tasty mocktail for my wife. I got the French 84 which was equally refreshing and delicious with our meal. We opted for the Tarte Tomatoes Provençal to start, tomatoes and Gruyere cheese over flaky puff pastry. Followed by the cod (never misses, we get this every time) and moules frites. Everything was perfectly seasoned and came out hot. What more can I say? We easily cleaned everything up and left satisfied. Luca has become a staple for us in Cincinnati, and we love to share this restaurant with others. I took three friends for lunch here last week after enjoying a few lunches and one dinner previously. All four of us enjoyed our meals, which included steak frites, croque madam and French string beans, all perfectly prepared and plated beautifully. A small salad came with the generous portion of steak and huge pile of delicious frites. Visited Luca Bistro for dinner this past Wednesday. I was surprised I had never heard of this place, as it was pretty crowded for a weeknight. The restaurant is small and homey. We were lucky to snag a table when we did, as the restaurant filled up with the dinner crowd pretty quickly. Our waitress was kind and made sure to check in on us frequently. We learned that it is actually her family's restaurant, and was able to speak to all the dishes and tell us her favorites. We had the small charcuterie board, cod, and orange creme brûlée. The crackers from the charcuterie board were delicious and the "small" board was a decent size for 3 people. The cod was DELICIOUS and came with mashed potatoes and cherry tomatoes. I highly recommend it. Dessert was also very good. I'm not a huge orange fan but the texture was still perfect. We did share that it was our first visit and I wish she would have talked us through the menu and shared a few of the more popular dishes or her favorite things. The ambiance was lively and loud. It was difficult to hear each other in normal conversational tones at some parts of the dinner but the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday so it's obviously a fan favorite. The steak itself wasn't my typical choice of meat and was a little too fatty without the fat being rendered down and edible. But otherwise, I enjoyed the dish overall. Another friend had the Shrimp avocado salad (Huge lunch salad with large grilled shrimp. The photo is deceiving. The angle makes the salad appear to be small.) All of us enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. Everything was so fresh and flavorful! Generous portions (esp for lunch), with very reasonable prices.
