This was a perfect meal from start to finish! I only wish we had found this lovely restaurant before the last night of our stay. My husband got the prix fixe menu with French onion soup, duck breast with sweet potato, and dessert. The French onion soup had such a rich depth of flavor and i can confidently say this was the best I've ever tried. The duck breast was succulent and perfectly cooked, with an amazing red wine reduction, complemented perfectly by the sweet potato. The dessert was apple millefieulle and speculoos with coffee ice cream. I wouldn't think of apple and coffee going together but it was a nice end to the meal. I must add that we came with our 4 year old - a tough critic - and he ate 3 helpings of the mashed sweet potatoes! I was feeling like something light this evening and ordered the veggie plate and was not disappointed. This may have been one of my favorite veggie plates I've ordered - there were so many flavors to choose from, it was definitely my kind of meal! From the eggplant layered component, to the light yet complex broccoli soup, to the potatoes, everything was excellent. But the star for me was the garlic mushrooms - I wish I knew how to make these! I ate here on my first night in Paris. Came a bit late in the night, but they seated me, and I ordered their three course meal: escargot, duck breast, and a pistachio dessert. They also provide a small basket of sliced baguette that they happily refilled during the meal. The escargot was fine - it was actually lukewarm, which was disappointing, and slightly bland, but I sopped up all of the herbaceous oil with the bread to finish my first basket. The duck breast was better, well cooked, with lovely potato puree and vegetables. The dessert was probably my favorite, a complex pastry with pistachio cream, a berry center and crumble. Possibly the best dining experience we had in Paris. We went for lunch before heading over to the Pantheon. It's also very close the Luxembourg gardens, so it fits nicely into a Paris visit schedule. There is a great lunch menu option to get a starter, main, and dessert for 32 Euro. I got the hot goat cheese salad, the chicken stew, and the chocolate cake. Each dish was excellent, and the bread they severed with it was super soft on the inside. The servers were also very friendly and seemed to bring a lot of joy to their work. We are here from the states celebrating my birthday. Our primary reason for coming to France was the promise of great food and wine. We were not disappointed. I found this place on Yelp and figured the reviews looked good so it was with checking out. Dinner was absolutely incredible. I had the Tournedos Rossini (steak dish consisting of filet mignon pan-fried in butter, served on a crouton, and topped with a hot slice of foie gras briefly pan-fried at the last minute, garnished with slices of black truffle and finished with a Madeira demi-glace sauce), and my husband had rumsteck (steak from the rump roast) and a cake of thinly sliced and stacked eggplant. My meal was so good I almost cried. Legit one of the best things I've ever eaten. No... it was THE best thing I've ever eaten. Dessert was creme brûlée and crunchy banana cake (basically bruleed bananas with whipped coconut cream). Both were amazing. A very cute but small bistro--do make reservations--but beware, you will be charged if you don't keep the reservation. Service was lovely, and the wait staff speak (mostly) English and were very patient with my French--first day in the Country in a long time so I was a little hesitant with the language. The kids got the French onion soup--the snails were drenched in garlic butter and delicious. My kids tried the escargots--first time ever, and both declared them to be quite tasty. My son ordered the steak--very tender, perfectly cooked--a little more towards rare than medium rare, and nicely seasoned. The vegetable terrine was not to his liking, but I thought they tasted great--layers of vegetables like creamed sweet potato and zucchini and eggplant. My daughter ordered salmon and spaghetti in squid ink--she enjoyed it immensely. I had what I thought was the best of all three-medallions of duck breast, cooked perfectly and centered over puréed sweet potatoes. Lovely, leisurely dinner followed by dessert. Since it was Elena's birthday, I gave them candles and the waiter was very accommodating--putting the candles in the mille feuille dessert and even singing to her. Best dinner spot of my last trip to Paris, my aunt and uncle liked it so much they've been back multiple times! Drink selection is large so everyone was able to pick a wine they loved, the cocktails weren't bad either. Definitely go with the prefix meal here. Worth every bite. Obviously I went with the French onion soup, they are known for it. I wish the cheese was a little less and more melted but it was still delicious. My main was a white fish on squid ink linguine. For desert I don't really remember what I ordered but it was pretty good, fresh figs! They only have two tables outside so make sure you make a reservation! read more

Really enjoyed this place! Both BF and I had the onion soup as a starter. We both thought it was pretty darn good soup. I had the duck breast, which had mushrooms on it and some mashed sweet potatoes. It was artfully arranged on the plate, and it tasted as good as it looked. BF had the duck confit, which came with some roasted potatoes. Those roasted potatoes... Oh my gosh were they good. We split a cheese plate for dessert. I was looking for a dinner place while staying in Paris and found this bistro on Yelp. Just a short walk away from our hotel and near many other fun places. Service was very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend visiting here as it seems to cater to both locals and foreigners. The menu has translations in English as well. The best deal seems to be for the appetizer, entree, and dessert for 45€. We opted for French onion soup, duck, and apple mille fueille for dessert. I got 6 escargot for 14€ and "helped" my husband with his dinner as I wasn't too hungry. I chose a glass of chardonnay and he got an affligem- Belgium blond ale. Everything from the appetizers to drinks to dessert was so delicious. My escargot were perfectly done in garlic butter and the French onion soup was amazing with side bread according to my partner. The duck was tasty as was the accompanying sauce and sweet potato puree and mushrooms. Dessert was a wonderful pastry on ice cream bed. Overall you can't go wrong with anything you order here. Bistro du Perigord was one of our favorite lunch spots during our first visit to Paris eight years ago. Naturally, we made a reservation during our recent trip to share the experience with our two boys. They offer a two or three course lunch option. We enjoyed the goat cheese toast with salad as our first course and the fish with vegetables as our second course. Bistro du Perigord still provides great service and food. Waking up a little after lunch after my first night in Paris, this was my first meal and it was a winner thanks to Yelp. It's a family run establishment, the father, the son and I presume other family members as well. It's a sit down restaurant, so reasonable price. Now, the dishes I had were simple ones, but the quality of ingredients and flavors were just superb. First was a salad with some rounds of French goat cheese was just superb (Chèvre chaud). The cheese quality was unreal, it was heaven on a plate. Never would expect to have such an impression from a salad. The recommendation for main meal from the server was their chicken preparation, Fricassee de Volaille. It was again just delicious, juicy, bursting with ingredients flavors and high quality poultry. I walked in around 2 or 3 pm on a Wednesday and was able to get a table without issues, but it did get busier as I sat there. Basically, go here, won't regret it. Our family had a wonderful dinner tonight at Le Bistro du Perigord. We arrived late and they welcomed us right in and took great care of us all evening. Coming from the United States and trying some of our first French cooking, we were Very pleasantly surprised. Our kids (13/11) tried escargots and 3 of the 4 of us had duck in two different preparations. Both were excellent but we all loved the duck confit. The steak was also excellent. Went here for my last meal in Europe, and I have to say, it was my BEST meal. Yelp was not wrong at all! Environment was clean and fun- it's a family owned restaurant and we had two brothers working there, one looking like Schmidt from New Girl lol. Anyways, I decided to split a 36 euro menu with one of my friends to try all the food. My god, best decision ever! The French Onion soup was so flavorful! One of our friends got the menu with escargot instead to try and that was delicious as well- more garlic and pesto than whatever snail tastes like lol (you'll be okay if you try it). Our main entree was duck confit and wao I am so impressed with how all the flavors worked together. Perfectly cooked as well. Yummy in my tummy. Dessert, however, has got to be my favorite part. The apple whatnot (it's like ten syllables long so I can't remember) was superb. Where has that been all my life. Our other friends who tried other dishes let us try some of their food and it was all terrific as well. You will not be disappointed here. Overall, great food, great service, a great time.
