Chili Sin Carne and Asian Noodle Salad
    Shawn L.

Very very good. Love the vibe and decor of the place. The menu isn't huge but has plenty of options. Order at counter and they make your item fresh. They have a lot of topping a bit doesn't seem you can customize it, they follow a menu and don't ask if you want anything different. I'm a die hard meat eater and hubby is vegan but you would never know the items here are vegan. The chili was delicious.

The build your own bowl option was phenomenal. I picked based on what looked good and fresh and pulled together a delicious, healthy bowl of veggies that I would gladly have again. The servers were knowledgeable and helpful, and the restaurant itself is probably the nicest fast casual experience I've ever had. Clean, good music, nicely laid out & clean.

Jamie W and I were really happy to see that La Botaniste had another location on 42nd St right across from Bryant Park. We had an unexpectedly tasty vegan meal at their Third Avenue location a year prior, but we didn't have a chance to return since we don't live here. Besides, there are so many tempting Manhattan eateries with unhealthy amounts of calories that it took a flicker of gluttonous guilt to find ourselves back here. And happily, too. The space was even larger than the Third Avenue location and with the same stylish-looking decor. They do a great job of showcasing their food buffet-style to highlight the freshness of their organic ingredients. Jamie ordered the appetizing $15.50 Asian Noodle Salad, a colorful bowl filled with greens, quinoa noodles, zucchini, carrot, daikon, snow peas, tofu, spicy peanuts, and sesame dressing (Photo 6). It was satisfying and relatively guilt-free. Somehow he managed to sneak in the $4.95 Quinoa PB Cookie, a peanut butter confection made with brown sugar and buckwheat (Photo 9). I had a bite or two. For my main, I ordered the Do It Yourself Bowl with cauliflower rice, coconut PB curry, free-range tofu, green pea hummus, root vegetables, and saffron aioli (Photo 8). I'm not sure how compatible the ingredients were, but it worked, especially with the $3.95 Iced Tea Lemonade (Photo 7). FOOD - 4 stars...really fresh ingredients that mesh guilt-free AMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...spacious and stylish SERVICE - 4 stars...quite attentive during the assembly phase TOTAL - 4 stars...definitely our NYC go-to for healthy eats RELATED - Hungry in NYC? Delicious plant-based food! The bolognese was delicious with a nice crunch from the super seeds. The matcha latte with oat milk was delicious, sweet but a nice matcha flavor. Beautiful decor, cozy feel.

One of my favorite vegan spots in the city. The design and atmosphere are on point definitely a must-visit if you're into plant-based food like me. I always recommend the Tibetan Mama bowl: coconut curry with brown rice, broccoli , and kimchi. It's one of the main reasons I keep coming back. The veggie balls are another standout made from red beet, and that's coming from someone who usually hates beets. Also, don't skip the veggie sushi . For dessert, the cookies and brownie are both tasty and packed with nutritious ingredients. The service is always great, they really go the extra mile to make the experience feel special. Big shoutout to Le Botaniste for consistently delivering amazing food and vibes.

Stopped into La Botaniste for dessert and I was highly impressed. I enjoyed the decor and wall art of the eatery, the cleanliness, and the quickness of their staff members. The one dessert that caught my eye was the Chocolate Raw Cake (coconut, dates, hazelnut, and buckwheat). The piece is not large, but it is dense, sweet, and surprisingly filling. Completely satisfied my dessert craving and it will be my go-to, after future lunches. I noticed that the restaurant serves a lot more than sweets and there were plenty of customers making purchases. I hope that every Yelper will taste what Le Botaniste has to offer and enjoy your vegan experience.

Still a go to when my parents are in town. It was a very hot day so we got cold dishes/salads with the veggie balls on top.

    Summer Noodle Salad

The best plant-based spot near Bryant Park to grab a nutritious meal while enjoying the aesthetics of the city. Le Botaniste has a few locations in town and this one is one of their larger spots. Lots of open seating for you to choose after you order your meal at the counter. They have a variety of plant-based options including seasonal menu items. I went with their Summer Noodle Salad which were wheat noodles over a bed of greens with avocado, peas, mushrooms, and other veggies topped with a ginger peanut sauce. Absolute hit if you're looking for a cold noodle dish for the summertime. The entire restaurant felt clean and well kept, making it a very comfortable experience.

This place is super cute and reminds me of a vegan version of Urban Plates or Tender Greens. The food was fresh and very healthy tasting (in a good way lol). The interior was very well decorated. Although the staff was clearly overwhelmed, they were friendly and pleasant.

This place has been bookmarked for a bit now, so I had to check it out for lunch. If you're into plant based food, this is the place for you. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but I still liked this place. The line moved fairly fast, and no one used the kiosk at the side. There's seating inside, which seems like it is first come, first serve for customers. I decided to get the pasta bolo, which comes with quinoa fusilli, the bolognese sauce, green herbal oil, and super seed mix. It says online that this dish is similar to beef. It did remind me of it. Pretty cool. I also got the summer roll too, which consisted of Quinoa noodles, red sauerkraut, turmeric onions, zucchini, avocado, and vegetable mix, served with ginger velvet. I didn't particularly like the roll, but that's my opinion.

Gone are the vegan restaurants of the early 2000s with their overpriced bland vegetables! Introducing vegan chains that make vegetables right. Yes, I'm talking about Le Botaniste. I'll admit I was hesitant to try this place because I've been haunted by past vegan places, but I'm glad I finally did. I was also under the impression they only had one location but they have multiple! A friend who I met for lunch accidentally went to another location two avenues away from this location. Thankfully we both got to the right place. The vibe gives zen plant lady with a pop of color. A little different from the Williamsburg modern with plants, Le Botaniste gives a more eclectic contemporary ambiance. Service is friendly and fast. Meals are premade (likely made fresh in the morning) and scooped up in an efficient assembly line that makes ordering during the lunch rush seamless. The Tibetan mama is divine and you wouldn't believe you were eating something plant-based. The curry is ultra flavorful and keeps you full. You can't help but pat yourself on the back for eating healthy and being environmentally sustainable at the same time. I can't wait to come back and try some of their other offerings.

If you're looking for a plant-based meat free option, great place at reasonable prices. The chili was amazing. Service was excellent. Ambiance is casual.

Le Botaniste elevates all expectations of fast casual and vegan organic dining! It is the place you go to when you want something healthy, nourishing and unprocessed to feel good from the inside out! I love all their entree bowls that are flavorful and so filling! Definitely recommend the mushroom stroganoff, chili sin carne, Moroccan stew and be sure to get their meatballs made of beet and chickpeas. I also loved their baked treats and desserts. Staff is super nice and welcoming and happy to explain items to you. Will definitely be back to try more!

And, there are more to explore!!! Willow is another notch on their belt as it delivered everything we wanted based on previous experiences. The restaurant is quaint and cozy - in other words much smaller than the others previously mentioned. The staff was accommodating and gracious and paid great attention to each table, making certain water was filled and the food was satisfying. We ordered the crab Rangoon to start and what a perfect choice. These were stunning and made even more perfect by the sauce accompanying them. I moved onto the brisket in bbq sauce served with Parmesan fries. The bbq sauce was a Rita's bit overwhelming and the fries seemed more traditional for the Parmasean seasoning didn't come through. It was a good dish although not one I would be running back to order. The brisket was super tender though! My husband had the Korean fried chicken sandwich with an upgrade of onion rings - delicious!! The rings were both crispy and tender as was the sandwich. For dessert we actually asked our waitress to surprise us because we could not choose - there were too many amazing choices!! She did not do us wrong! We had the banana pudding with wafer cookies and it was AMAZING! The appetizer and dessert (paired with their special iced latte) are well worth the trip and made the experience a delight. Once again the City Root Hospitality group did not disappoint!!

This sandwich is usually not something that is available vegetarian so i was curious to see the flavors and textures. The steak is chewy and meaty so if you are not a fan of faux meat then i would proceed with caution. I enjoy the cheeses here as they are unique and different from each other. The sandwich overall was okay though not my favorite sandwich ever. - smoked Mac and cheese (7/10): macaroni with smoked goat cheese, cheddar, mozzarella baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with vegan pancetta and breadcrumbs. This was a cozy appetizer especially on a cold day. The flavors of the cheese are rich and smoky with a hint of saltiness from the pancetta and breadcrumbs. I would have liked it to be a larger portion and offered as an entree. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe. I liked the ambiance and the option to try dishes that are usually meat heavy but the cuisine is not my personal favorite.

My bartender Lewis/Luis was incredibly attentive, frequently checking in to see how everything was going. He also recommended the Avocado Sushi with truffle miso to go alongside the Bang Bang Broccoli I had already ordered, and it was a great call. The Bang Bang Broccoli is good the tempura is well done and the sauce is delicious but after a couple of bites, the sauce starts to overpower the broccoli and becomes a little too saucy and salty. I found myself reaching for water more than I expected. The Avocado Sushi had a really beautiful smoky, rich flavor, though I do wish they'd pack a little less rice. With so much rice in each piece, it's hard to get a balanced bite cutting it down by half would make it perfect. The Matchatini was a standout. Creamy on top, with just the right amount of alcohol not overpowering at all, just enough to complement the matcha. As tempting as it was to order another one, I wanted to savor the moment, and I'm glad I did. For dessert, I had my eye on the Matcha Sandwich Cookies with ice cream, but they were sold out. Fellow reviewers saved the day though, pointing me to the Matcha Cheesecake and they were 110% correct. That cheesecake did not disappoint. Though it didn't seem to be a lot of food but I couldn't even finish it on my own so I got it to go.

But the food is what really blew me away. I got the Korean Wild Green Tea First Picked, and it was unreal. Yes, it had that beautiful green tea character, but it was so much more layered than that--smooth, complex, almost naturally sweet, and honestly one of the most memorable teas I've had anywhere. I also ordered the iced matcha latte, and it was easily the best matcha latte I've ever had: no grittiness at all, just incredibly smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. We also had the baby dumplings in spicy sauce, popcorn shrimp, fried Manchurian cauliflower, spicy kimchi pancakes, Peking duck baos, and the duck rice bowl. Every single dish was excellent.
