Truly amazing. One of my favorite restaurants in the world. Not as much of a "scene" as some of the other restaurants on island, in a good way. Just amazing food and service. Some highlights are the tomato salad, rainwater clams, softshell crabs, and sundae.

Elite Yelp review June 4, 2022 Le Languedoc Bistro Nantucket Island Chef Anthony S Nastus Jr Servers Cori & Teresa Hostess Arlene AMBIANCE A perfect night on Nantucket over some of the island's best food and wine. Beautiful, intimate atmosphere. Attention to detail with beautifully spaced tables for a wonderful dining experience. You will have to climb steep stairs, so if you need special accommodations call ahead. SERVICE The service here was excellent! Arlene took great care and got us a beautiful table (there is not a bad table in the entire restaurant. Cori and Teresa were courteous, kind and accommodating. Cori offered great suggestions and we were taken care of! FOOD/DRINKS We started off with half a bottle of champagne, Laurent Perrier and they brought yummy breads, sourdough and a cranberry bread with perfectly chilled butter. We weren't starving so we opted or the Charcuterie board -chef Anthony changes out but has goat, sheep and cow cheese. It was excellent and also served w marconi almonds, on the vine raisins and honeycomb honey, with fig and sesame seed crackers. We also had the fresh burrata and fresh local tomatoes and mixed greens. We will be back to enjoy a meal, as we were able to see some of the dishes come out and sorry we did not have more time as our schedule would not allow. This was perfect and I'm so glad we got to experience the atmosphere and the food. This restaurant is excellent! RESTROOMS Clean, elegant decor OVERALL We had a great meal and excellent service. The restaurant was beautiful. We felt taken care of and appreciated. The staff was wonderful, they all worked together and had an incredible vibe that created a great experience. We will be back and bring friends! If you want a spectacular meal with friends or date night, or you have friends in town or celebrating something special, definitely bring them here for the most beautiful french food! Tell them Peggy sent you for extra love!

    Creme brulee

We enjoyed every aspect of this quaint French bistro! Starters were lobster bisque and the cheese souffle. My husband gave the bisque a 7 of 10....lots of lobster, but wasn't as creamy as a typical lobster bisque. The souffle was light and fluffy, highly recommend. For entrees my husband had the duck confit with homemade linguine and I had the pan roasted lobster with soft polenta. Both were FABULOUS! We cannot say enough about the desserts!! The bittersweet chocolate pot de creme was incredible and my hubbys creme brulee was perfect. Highly recommend

One of my favorite restaurants on the island. If you want to be transported to an authentic bistro in Lyon, without the travel and pretentiousness, come to Languedoc. Teresa and Judy are waitresses sent from heaven who will truly take care of you. The setting is divine and the wine list is exquisite. Start with the foie appetizer, maybe the soft shell crabs if you're feeling risky and they're in season, and round up with the lobster. It's butter poached and fried in butter, served inside the tail with polenta. Real sick but also delicious. The escargot with cavatelli is also AMAZING as are the espresso martinis. Don't leave the island without eating here. Thank me later!

Average overpriced food. Lobster bisque looks and tastes like dirty water. Worst I ever had.

The lobster is amazing! Have enjoyed it dozens of times. It never disappoints. Everything is great, including the bread.

Upon arrival, after Angel handles everything from the ferry, you are greeted by Fulya who is maybe the sweetest woman you will ever meet. Unfortunately you cant take her home with you, but she will make your stay as easy and convenient as possible. Unfortunately, my wife got a stomach bug on our trip, and because the concierge car was unavailable, Kate insisted that I use her PERSONAL vehicle to run to the pharmacy. If all of that isn't enough you have John, the head bartender, who not only makes one heck of an espresso martini, he works the bar like an ace! Again, 42 and I have been lucky enough to travel quite a bit, but the level of service that we received at the Nantucket Hotel, not only rivals, but surpasses any 5-star resort that we've ever stayed at. I have been coming to the Island since I was in the 6th grade and I will never go back without staying here. Angel, Kate, Fulya, and everyone else, thank you so much for the level of service and passion for your craft. We cannot wait to come back and really appreciate everything. REALLY SHOULD BE 30 STARS. Simply the best experience.

Constant trucks in and out - most backing in with their beeper on. We had ants in the bathroom, two rounds of toxic chemicals and they were still there. We were near the maids closet - tons of traffic and noise there. Floorboards squeaking, so anytime you went to the ant infested bathroom, you would wake the other person up. Staff was friendly and only reason it's not one star review.

Go back in…read moretime A gorgeously restored Victorian carriage house, this B&B is without question one of the nicest places we have stayed on the island. The location is on a very quiet little side street that feels isolated even in the midst of the summer chaos. The great part is that the Carriage House is still only a short walk to the center of Nantucket. The rooms aren't large but extremely nice and furnished in period style. They serve a pleasant breakfast in the morning and we had some of the best blueberry muffins ever. Perhaps the nicest part of our stay was getting to met the proprietors Haziel and his wife Tomomi. They were incredibly gracious and friendly and not only willing to take the time to give us directions to anything we wanted but also seemed to enjoy discussing environmental issues on the island or aspects of Nantucket history, politics, or just about anything else. This is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay but it was the hospitality of Haziel and Tomomi that made it very special.

The location couldn't be better - a block from the head of Main Street, near Murray's, yet off on a secluded and quiet side street. The bedroom was comfortable and cozy - bonus that the view from my window was of the gold dome of the Unitarian Church. As others have said, this is a great value when compared to other B&B's in the area, which are much more expensive. At Carriage, I stayed in a queen room with a private bath for approximately $50-$75 less than what a single bed with shared bath would have cost me elsewhere. One very small additional convenience that would be nice would be air conditioning, as it can get pretty hot and humid at times on the island. The lack of A/C is actually common on the island however, and I slept comfortably with the ceiling fan.
