Our stay at the Cliff Lodge was wonderful! The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast had everything, from fresh fruit and freshly brewed coffee to scones, hard boiled eggs and cold cuts. The hotel is lovely classic nantucket colonial with whaling themed decor and fresh hydrangeas throughout. GREAT location, an easy walk from the center of town. Monica and the staff were kind and welcoming, and allowed us to stay well past checkout to work in the dining area. This was greatly appreciated since the cafes on the island fill up fast and tend to be too busy for remote work and calls. They were gracious, accommodating and good-natured, which is no small feat during the busiest time of year in Nantucket!

We absolutely adored our stay at the Cliff Lodge. We arrived early and were able to quickly contact the innkeepers and store our bags. Much to our surprise, our room was ready early! Woohoo! We stayed in room 5, which has a lovely king bed, love seat, private bathroom, and even a little porch. The bed was super comfortable and the room spacious. We stayed at one of the Nantucket luxury hotels earlier in the week and actually preferred our stay here. It's a short 6 minute walk into town. 10/10 - we will definitely be back. Thank you Madelon and Chris for your hospitality! Xo Kate and Andre

My stay at the Cliff Lodge was a total dream. Upon my rather early-morning arrival, I was graciously welcomed by owners/managers, Madelon and Chris, who swiftly offered up a pot of freshly brewed coffee, gourmet teas, as well as their delightful dining room as a peaceful nook for me to get some work done. My room, the Queen on the top floor, was remarkable for its attention to detail, thoughtful yet whimsical design, and without question, its unparalleled views of Nantucket's untouched magic. The room is also impeccably clean, and every morning, the hosts (discreetly) deliver a fresh, customized breakfast in extraordinary style. I'm already planning my next visit!

We had a great stay. Sally is a fantastic hostess. The bed was comfortable, and the widow's walk makes for a pleasant reading area. If we ever make it back to Nantucket, I'll be giving Sally a call!

Cliff Lodge is one of the last great deals on a rather expensive island. We've been going for seven years now and always book the rooms on the top floor (8 & 9) for the best value. Be warned they are small but comfortable! Sally and her company make each visit a great stay - like a warm homecoming. Breakfast is good, afternoon snacks a treat, and the Friday wine tasting of Nantucket Vineyard vintages a pleasure. *sigh* I wish I was there now...

Brant Point is located on the top floor (3rd floor) of the Inn. The stairs leading to this room are VERY steep so please keep this in mind when booking. You will have to carry your bags too. The room itself is tastefully decorated and the bathroom is newly renovated. The view is good but not great. You can see the harbor but a few other homes & trees obstruct a lot of the view. The bathroom is fantastic! We loved the rain shower head and the LED mirror. It has ample room and plenty of storage. They provide an iron, ironing board and hairdryer in the room along with basic toiletries. Breakfast is served daily. You must sign up via text the evening before. They provide you with a link and you make your selections from there. You can take the tray back to your room, eat in the dining room or on the patio. Coffee, hot tea , water and fruit are available all day in the dining room. Fresh baked cookies are also put out in the late afternoon. The Inn is centrally located and all the shops and restaurants are within walking distance. We really enjoyed strolling the beautiful streets of Nantucket. It is also very close to the ferry and Whaling Museum. You can rent bikes and Jeeps near by too. We walked to Brandt Point lighthouse - it was not far at all. We enjoyed our time in Nantucket and would definitely recommend The Brass Lantern Inn. It was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we couldn't have been more pleased! The grounds are nice, the rooms are clean and well appointed! We highly recommend getting a Jeep to explore the whole island and all of the lighthouses! Madaket Beach was an amazing place to catch the beautiful sunset!

We were extremely disappointed with this hotel, both the product as well as the service quality. For 750 pre tax, we expected a higher quality level, namely: -the rooms were old and my parents room (terrace king) had a smell. The rooms were dingy and the bathrooms were extremely dated. The terrace room went for a premium and the terrace was dirty to the point they never went out there (ground floor) -the lobby was tiny and not a place to spend more than 2 mins. It's full of luggage that is being stored and very uninviting -the rooms are marketed as breakfast included when you book but you have to choose between a croissant and oats and you can pour yourself some coffee that is on a warmer -most of the time, the front desk person is actually hanging out in the kitchen and they come out after you make your presence known. -outside of the croissant and coffee program, there is no food, cafe, or restaurant. You'll need to walk over to sister ships / faraway which has lots of offerings -in general I'd say the service quality is very low. They run extremely lean on staffing (maid plus 1 desk person) and the front desk folks are really only focused on checking you in. And the overhead saved by having a skeleton crew working does not get passed on the customer. -I called several times in advance of arrival and most of those calls were never answered, the phone just rings. I did catch a front desk clerk over the phone at some point and asked for some recs. She said she'd email and never did. I ran into her upon check out and she commented, "oh hey sorry I never emailed you those recs". So there is no concierge service -Between no lobby to relax in for a few moments, no restaurant, no reasonable breakfast though breakfast was advertised, no staff, and lousy rooms I dont see how this hotel charges more than $300-400 per night. It's a place to sleep and spend no time otherwise. At every turn, the hotel was a major let down. It was a damper on our trip. I believe the hotel requires complete operational revamp or major price reduction/50 percent. The value you get for the price point is completely upside down. Hope this helps someone to avoid the mistake we made staying there.
