We absolutely loved our overnight stay at The Cliff Lodge. We were able to access Restaurants during a nice walk through the area. Our room was gorgeous! The inside bathroom was stylish and updated beautifully. decor was beautiful gorgeous through the house. Art work hung on the walls, rugs that accentuate the rooms. It was Quiet and welcoming Breakfast was perfect and lovely to not have to worry about. Monique was an absolute pleasure to meet and have if needed. There was a beautiful yard to sit in. Get ready for steep stairs and funny carpet on those stairs! But we got a cute (tiny) 3rd floor room for a decent price 2nd week of August. On the most expensive vacation island where rooms run $600 and up, our tiny room in this clean B and B served us well. The custodian of the place was nice but had no butter or cream cheese for the breakfast. Otherwise baked goods were fine and coffee good. We braved it and did roof top. Next door neighbor's home and antique car collection so Nantucket! Would stay there again. read more

The place is fantastic. Built in 1771 wow.! unfortunately, our room was extremely small room number three but the manager there named Monica was really really flawless so nice ! Upon arrival for check in, NO ONE was present. No one answered the phone number posted for assistance. No one called back. booking.com could not reach them. Out of frustration, I left after 40 minutes to seek alternatives. Yet, Cliff Lodge charger my credit card, saying, I cancelled and didn't show up. IT is an unscrupulous, dishonest location. Our stay at the Cliff Lodge was wonderful! The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast had everything, from fresh fruit and freshly brewed coffee to scones, hard boiled eggs and cold cuts. The hotel is lovely classic nantucket colonial with whaling themed decor and fresh hydrangeas throughout. GREAT location, an easy walk from the center of town. Monica and the staff were kind and welcoming, and allowed us to stay well past checkout to work in the dining area. This was greatly appreciated since the cafes on the island fill up fast and tend to be too busy for remote work and calls. They were gracious, accommodating and good-natured, which is no small feat during the busiest time of year in Nantucket! read more

We absolutely adored our stay at the Cliff Lodge. We arrived early and were able to quickly contact the innkeepers and store our bags. Much to our surprise, our room was ready early! Woohoo! We stayed in room 5, which has a lovely king bed, love seat, private bathroom, and even a little porch. The bed was super comfortable and the room spacious. We stayed at one of the Nantucket luxury hotels earlier in the week and actually preferred our stay here. It's a short 6 minute walk into town. 10/10 - we will definitely be back. My stay at the Cliff Lodge was a total dream. Upon my rather early-morning arrival, I was graciously welcomed by owners/managers, Madelon and Chris, who swiftly offered up a pot of freshly brewed coffee, gourmet teas, as well as their delightful dining room as a peaceful nook for me to get some work done. My room, the Queen on the top floor, was remarkable for its attention to detail, thoughtful yet whimsical design, and without question, its unparalleled views of Nantucket's untouched magic. We had an awful experience with the Customer Service at Cliff Lodge. We never actually got to stay here, and lost $2,680 and the experience of our honeymoon in the process. We are disappointed, saddened and honestly angered by the treatment we received. We booked a deluxe king for 3 nights in early June 2022, just following our wedding. At our wedding, just preceding our stay, my Mother, with no known health issues, collapsed and died on the dance floor. Understandably, with a tragedy such as this, we had to cancel the stay, and attend to family issues. We were told there were absolutely NO REFUNDS under NO CIRCUMSTANCES because "people make all sorts of things up to get out of reservations". We accepted this and asked if we could book at a later date, the woman helping us agreed but then threw random dates at us later in the summer with very short notice - thus it was impossible for us to stay at those times. Fast forward almost a year later, we're looking towards the anniversary of our wedding, and my Mom's passing and thinking it would be nice if we could go on the honeymoon that was also robbed of us (among the many things given the tragedy). We wrote a kind and thoughtful email to Cliff Lodge, appealing to them, asking them to kindly honor our original reservation of 3 nights at $2,680 or asking what they can do for us. That was over a month ago, and no one has responded. This is awful business, awful treatment and just bad humanity. read more

Great spot! The innkeepers Madeline and Lisa couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. They upgraded our room and spoiled us with an incredible breakfast each morning. Super comfy bed resulted in a great nights sleep. Cliff Lodge is a 5 minute walk to town but far enough that there's little traffic. There's umbrellas and towels to borrow and sometimes a spare bottle of wine. Don't miss the view from the rooftop! We typically shop around every year for the best deal, but I can't imagine finding another spot that will compare to this experience. read more

Cliff Lodge was an amazing stay for us. Lovely room, great location in town, and terrific and very friendly service! Catherine, the Inn Keeper, was super friendly and super helpful. She made the stay there all the more enjoyable! The lodge only has 9 rooms, so it is not overly crowded at all. Our room was expansive, beautifully adorned and extremely clean. Very cool view of the port from a viewing terrace or widow's watch at the top of the lodge. Cliff Lodge also provided a nice package of information that detailed all the features and amenities available on the island. Would definitely stay there again if fortunate enough to make it out to Nantucket again. read more

Handsome B&B. Rooms are small (place is over 200 years old), simply appointed and very clean. Seems to miss on some little things, like the super cheap $10 walmart window shade in my room that BARELY diminished morning sunshine. Common areas are nicely appointed. Continental breakfast is fine. There is no view of ocean from Cliff Lodge (i kno, i kno, name implies a...), UNLESS you scurry through unfinished attic (not normal steps) to a remarkable roof deck that's five stories up, with three lounge chairs. There, my vacationing friend, you will find that gorgeous view of the ocean and bay that the B&B's name implies. read more

This is my sixth time in seven years staying at Cliff Lodge. Stay for a few days and then move to a house I rent. Cliff lodge is in walking distance to the center of town and very convenient. Over the years I've stayed in various rooms. All had King size beds and very comfortable. The baths are small, but to be expected in a B&B. They do have large fluffy towels. I find this a good indicator of the quality of a place. Some of the best and expensive hotels i've stayed at around the world had small thin towels. (I will admit this is a thing for me) The breakfasts are great. Everything is home made. The inn keeper at their sister property does the baking and she's very good. Love the cookies in the later afternoon. Back again for 2014. New Innkeeper (Trish), a great addition. Here is sample of a day at Cliff Lodge. Got up at 8:00 and had coffee, fresh baked sweet rolls and homemade granola. Went for a bike ride out to Madaket beach (work off breakfast). Came back to the Inn. Got Sandwiches from Something Natural (Read reviews of Something natural) walking distance from Cliff Lodge. Took our lunch to Dionis beach. Came back to Cliff loge and cleaned up and showered. Then had complementary wine and cheese. Cliff lodge has the wine and cheese offering on Fridays. We then completed our day with a great dinner at oran Mor. The Cliff Lodge is a fantastic place, partly because of the great service and personalities you will meet here (perhaps I'm biased - this is the only B&B I've stayed at, but I've stayed here several times). This will not be a corporate experience - you book through Sally, who also keeps the place running - showing you to your room, setting up breakfast, and bringing out afternoon cookies. The rooms are indeed very small, but that hasn't diminished my experiences there at all (and once we were upgraded to a larger room). We only go in the off season (starting with our honeymoon in September 2009), but there are always interesting people staying there. The island itself is amazing (especially without the crowds), with lots of bike trails, art galleries, shops, and amazing places to eat. I just hope we have enough money to go again this fall (they have lots of different specials, so hopefully we'll get at least a couple days)! As the first review mentioned, the rooftop deck view is amazing - it's a great place to eat breakfast, or hang out reading during the day, or enjoy some hot cocoa in the evening. This place is great but it really does depend on what room you get. If you're looking for pure luxury, go elsewhere. If you're looking for old charm, character, great service, and a cutesy 1800's style inn, this place is a great choice. My mom and I Just stayed here while we were visiting for Nantucket Yoga Festival- and we can't say enough good things. Melissa, Bob, and Cindy are all so accommodating. Bob even offered to drive us to the Ferry last minute! They have wine and cheese night on Friday and breakfasts on weekend morning with lots of homemade treats. The rooms are cozy and clean, and the backyard is perfect to relax with a book or glass of wine. The inn is 5 minute walk to everything you need downtown and the Ferry. Can't recommend Cliff Lodge Inn enough, we'll definitely be back! read more

Stayed here during Figawi and this place is great. It has a special charm about it. We stayed in room 7 and there were no complaints about the room at all. We knew the setup and you have to expect that an old B&B is going to have smaller rooms. What really sets this place above the rest is the service that you get. The owners and their employees went out of their way to make sure that we had the best stay possible. We'll definitely be regulars here. read more

After a 2 day stay at Cliff Lodge I cannot say I would return. If you are looking for a very reasonable price point in a good location this place measures up. The room we stayed in (room 3) was so small it was difficult to maneuver with 2 people in the room. The rung on the brass bed was broken and the ceiling fan was missing a blade. The bathroom is absolutely tiny and the wallpaper is rotting off and brown around the sink area. While laying in bed I saw insects crawling on the ceiling. I get that it's a B&B so it's supposed to be cozy but given the competition in the area it should at least be better appointed. read more

This was our first time in on Nantucket. We chose the Cliff Lodge based on past reviews and proximity to town. We picked perfectly! The room (Room 1) was very comfortable and the rest of the inn was just as inviting! We were treated incredibly by Bob, Melissa and Cindy! Nantucket was great to see and experience and the Cliff Lodge was the perfect place to stay. One of our favorite times was breakfast each morning. Bob and Melissa treated us, and everyone else like family. They genuinely cared about our time on the island and at the inn; we couldn't ask for more. We stayed here via a Living Social promotion and were very impressed. The inn keeper, Trish, was extremely friendly, courteous, informative and attends to your every need. Trish greeted us and gave us a short tour and filled us in on all the inn has to offer. Complimentary wine and cheese on Friday evening, complimentary breakfast each morning, cookies in the foyer in the afternoons and bottle of wine upon check-in. All very unexpected and added bonus! The accommodations were wonderful, very spacious and comfortable room with king bed, two living room chairs and private bath. There is a beautiful room top deck with amazing vistas of the island.
