I'm sorry but I didn't try their macarons. I just couldn't imagine paying that much for those little things. The price I saw here was like $75 for 20 and $100 for 40. I mean I'm sure they're worth every penny because they're touted as authentic French pastries but I'll leave that for the more affluent folks. Our company hosted a weeklong meeting at the Marriott across the street and they served them to our group as dessert on Valentine's Day. I must say, they were divine. So disappointing. Left my house just for some nice hot chocolate. It's Swiss miss.. I could make better hot chocolate at home but I left my house in 10 degree weather for Swiss miss.. and I thought the macarons might at least be decent but those were a bust too. What a delightful store! Colorful from corner to corner with lots of beautiful pastries to purchase, it can be overwhelming to choose which pieces of art to purchase for yourself or others. On my trip, I didn't get a chance to try these pastries (as I'd stopped by Stan's first) but did have the chance to try their beverages. The cost is surprisingly reasonable compared to other options in the shopping center, with most items at about $3-$4. I found the iced coffee to be light and refreshing, not overly strong at all and without too much ice. The hot chocolate was pretty good as well, not the best I've had but it met expectations considering the price. Great experience! The woman working was kind and attentive. Felt safe going into the store - there was only one person in the store. Overall, decent quality - some of the macarons broke apart when trying to take a bite, but definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. The salted caramel was my favorite - purchased 6 for $15. Some flavors weren't as strong as others (black currant, vanilla) but the majority were delicious. Le Macaron is a cute macaron shop with tons of variety. They not only sell just macarons, but cakes, eclairs, chocolates, gelato, and coffee drinks. It's located at the food court in Oakbrook Mall. They have lots of fun flavors in their display case! I ordered a dozen ($31) of their macarons: pistachio, lavendar white chocolate, colombian coffee, tiramisu, chocolate praline nutella, and salted caramel. By far my favorites were the pistachio, tiramisu, and nutella. My only note is that some had more filling than others and some were more fresh than others. A bit more consistency would've been appreciated. I also treated myself to their Chocolate Cherry Iced Latte ($6) which was delightful! I love cherry flavored anything but often it's hard to find things that don't taste too cough syrupy. It was the perfect balance between cherry and chocolate and I loved it. Service was great. The employee was knowledgeable and gave me tips on which flavors were the best and let me customize my drink. Pricewise, it is on the pricier side but macarons are an expensive dessert since they're such a hassle to make. Their macarons run on the taller side rather than the wide side, making them a bit more easier to overbake in my opinion. Still a delicious treat but must be eaten within a day (which is never a problem for me). The coffee was well worth it in my opinion. I will definitely be coming back! read more

All looked unattractive and stale. While the food court was busy there was no one in the cafe. Came here for a late night sweet run. Arrived 30 minutes before closing time so many of the flavors were sold out. But the employee said that they were able to get any of the flavors from their storage but it would require some defrosting time. We decided to just get ones that were already available to save time. My friend and I decided to split the 6 macaroons which were a total of $17 w tax (yikes!!). I ordered the coconut, Belgian chocolate, and the birthday cake. The texture of the macaroons were spot on light, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth. BUT the flavors were so subtle. If I didn't already know the flavors I would have a hard time guessing! This shop is inside the food court building in "The District" on the top floor of the mall near the AMC - it's across from Stan's Donuts. This review is only about the chocolates and their almond croissant - I didn't try the pastries, but maybe based on the chocolates I should. This place is mostly about the macarons and the gelato, but they have a small selection of chocolates and truffles, and they are excellent. The dark chocolate truffles were really something special, with a lovely velvety rich ganache; I'm not sure when I had one this good (downside: only two flavors). The regular chocolates are beautifully decorated with splotches of color as is the fashion now, or fashioned like little butterflies; they're very good. Don't be put off by the butterfly-shaped chocolates: they look a little silly but the one I got was lovely with a tart lemon filling. These are pretty and would make a good gift, as well as delightful eating. The pastries looked beautiful but were priced a bit high ($9-$10 for beautiful little cakes of various types; they also have long skinny eclairs), but I'm spoiled as we have several excellent patissiers in the suburbs and I imagine the rent's a lot higher here. In their own little case were two lonely almond croissants and a pain au chocolat; I'm a sucker for an almond croissant that isn't drenched in powdered sugar. Quite respectable. In short, if the gelato, pastries, macarons, and intriguing little macaron sandwiches are anywhere near as good as the chocolate, this is a very dangerous little shop! read more

My wife and I are French and grew up in France, so we were excited to discover that there was a French pastry with such appealing-looking pastries that actually look like French pastries (they are hard to go by!). Even more glad when we saw it was in Oakbrook Center, we had been there a few times and like it there, and we hadn't noticed there was a pastry when we were there. Upon entering into the indoor food court, we were taken aback when noticing that the person on staff was not wearing a face mask. Indoors, in the spike of the delta variant madness, handling food for people; but no face mask. We were wondering if we were overreacting, but we looked around, and couldn't spot another worker with no face mask in the entire food court. We stayed put a little bit outside the pastry, to see if maybe we weren't misunderstanding the situation; but another employee came from the back also with no face mask on, so this seemed to be on purpose. Le Macaron gets my first impression rose! I stopped in on a whim for a treat and my senses were immediately delighted with the amazing smell of baked deliciousness (aka croissants and macarons)! I was warmly greeted by a nice young man with a wonderful accent (French, I think). He offered me a macaron sample and it was so good! - I had to buy more (the Columbian Coffee and Gingerbread flavors). They have 15-20 macaron flavors in addition to baked goods (croissants) and deserts (a mini chocolate Eiffel Tower!). I bought a plain croissant and it was exactly what a croissant should be. Flaky, chewy, flavorful! I'm looking forward to trying their coffee. I was walking towards the brown line when this place caught my eye. The minute I saw "French" pastries, I just had to walk in. I haven't been to Paris since 2007, but my lord does this place feel like I've been transported back. The owners/employees are French which makes it feel even more authentic. The place is decorated beautifully with a huge macaron tower at the front and gorgeous bright white and pink colors to set the mood. There are tons of macaron flavors to choose from. You have the option to buy 1 for 2.60$ or 20 for 47$. There are also tons of French pastries; I had the Pain Au Chocolat, which is basically a croissant with chocolate in it. It was absolutely mouthwatering delicious and truly authentic. They also offer gelato, handmade chocolates and coffee/espresso drinks. The service was also top notch. There was an indecisive couple ordering ahead of me and the employee was extremely patient with their back and forth order and made sure they got exactly what they wanted. The macarons from here were absolutely wonderful! They had such a huge variety of unique flavors and everything we tried tasted great. Le Macaron French Pastries offered a wonderful variety of flavors including birthday cake which the birthday girl chose. My oldest grand-girl chose red velvet and I chose mango-passionfruit. I really wanted to love the desserts, as I live near Sugar Fixe (Oak Park) and Vanilla (French Market/Chicago) and both locations offer wonderfully flavored macarons. However, the macarons here didn't tickle my taste buds. The texture was perfect...light and airy, but the filling lacked flavor. Don't get me wrong, the filling was plentiful and more than I usually get from other bakeries, but I would have preferred a more flavorful filling over quantity. Although I didn't have the experience I would have liked, the shop owner (so very sweet and accommodating) certainly made up for it. I don't remember her name, but I recall her saying she was from Normandy, France. I wish I could give this place a 5 star really. I would have had I only had the pistachio macaroon. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was! I would say it really sets a new standard for macaroons. I've had good macaroons before, usually I judge it from flavor since the texture is uniformly a little chewy. These are different. They dropped that usual chewiness for that melt in your mouth texture. I can't quite compare it to any other food in terms of texture. really did change my view on why people like macaroon. I'd totally go back to get these again, which is unusual for me since I've never had a macaroon and think "wow these are so good I need to come back again". Usually it's more like, I'll eat it if it's in front of me lol Now that I've discussed why it's 5 star worthy, here is why I took a star (and almost 2 off). I had the pistachio first, then I had the coffee. That was just a so bad...the shell and the filling doesn't come together. The ingredients in the filling also doesn't come together. Everything pulls apart while biting and it separates while chewing. The flavor is really good, but that texture was a nightmare. Then I had another one and it's just as good as the first one. These I ate after it's been out for awhile so I'm wondering if these needs to be leaved out for awhile, but then why was the first one very good right off the shelf. hope it's not a consistency issue. read more

Strangest experience ever. When we arrived we were told croissants were still in oven and it would be about 5 minutes. Returned 19 minutes later and they were ready. I.
