Dragged my husband to the Hello Kitty Cafe truck this past weekend when they had a pop-up at our local mall. The Truck was slated to open at 10am, so we got there at 9:30 since we anticipated that there would be a huge line. To our surprise, the line wasn't too extensive. I think we had 25-30 people in front of us, most of them families. They had a variety of sweets available, like cookies, meringues, macarons, etc. and also carried merchandise such as shirts, plushies, pins, and thermal bottles. It only took us about 15 minutes to get to the front once the truck opened for sales. I purchased the 32oz. Thermal Bottle for $40. It's so pretty! I love the pastel colors and the white decal that adorns the bottle. Since it's a Hello Kitty Cafe Truck exclusive, I'm only going to store water in it to keep it as clean as possible. Our nieces purchased the cookies and macarons and loved them. Everything on the truck is extremely cute! If you purchase over $30 worth of food, you get a free small, pink bag. There are no deals that come with purchasing an "x" amount of merchandise. Items are a bit pricey, but it's Hello Kitty, so it's worth it! read more

First off, this is for the truck experience at another stop, but I think it's the same idea. Truck opened at 10am, some got there before 8, I got there at 11. Three hour wait. When I got near the front, I timed it, and some people took as many as 3 min for a single order. Obviously they're not going to do anything about the pricing or quality of the limited prepackaged food items. But, get two people working at a time, at least one of them a stereotypical New Yorker to get people to order, pay, and move on. Even with long lines, you should be able to get through people more quickly . Especially when it's tap and pay and you're just throwing stuff in a bag. Unless they speed this up or get a mascot to entertain kids, I would not recommend this place. Do a selfie with the van and walk on by. read more

Arrived at 930am on Saturday for the Greensboro visit and we still did not get to the truck until noon. It was cold but we brought chairs and dressed warm. Not sure what all the hype is about, I really just came to hang out with friends who were much more excited about this than I was! Some Sephora associates and Girl Scout troops definitely took advantage of the line - someone else should've set up a hot chocolate stand ! I got a box of macarons (5 for $18). My friends got a mug and some other souvenir. I was tempted to get the mini tumblr keychain but for $15 not worth it. The people working the truck were friendly. I was very excited to see that the Hello Kitty Cafe came to Washington! It pulled up to the Alderwood mall, and I got some cookies and my friend got the big cookie and a t-shirt. As most pop ups are, it was quite pricey 3 mid cookies and a printed t-shirt as well as many things were already sold out half way through the day so be sure to go early! If you catch my drift, this is still worth a try for hello kitty enthusiasts. I didn't realize it was hello kitty's 50th birthday Nov 1st. It was extra special while visiting Vegas. They added oatmilk matcha to the menu which was the main reason I tried this cafe. The birthday cake special was worth celebrating the anniversary. The iced matcha was very sweet, either they added sweetener or from the oatmilk brand. It was tasty but too sweet for my taste. I ordered the birthday combo special since any drink at the time was served with it. It's coated in sugar pearls and frosting. It was a sweet birthday cake flavor and decedent. Once again, too sweet. I over all enjoyed the nice staff promoting the event and the various hello kitty novelties and sweets. Unfortunately their matcha detoxed my body heavily in the worst way. Had over 4 plus toilet breaks. I drink authentic matcha from home daily and don't have this problem. Might be the preparation or the quality of the matcha latte. They might need to change the recipe because not just me, my friend had the same issue. Just be wary of the matcha. To add, the specialty sweets are not tasty, just for aesthetic. Came here a little late , the line was about 1 1/2hrs. The weather thankfully was great. No disorganization, very nice to not be stressed in line. So happy the Hello Kitty truck came to Colorado! I missed it when I lived out on the coast , it came to Torrance California ( Del Amo Mall ) I tried to head to the cafe up at Santa Row in Santa Clara , California but it was closed the time I went to visit. My Colorado visit (8/21/21) was great! They were stocked up on almost every item , my suggestion it to get there in line at least an hour before they start selling. I was able to get 2 large sugar cookie , 2 sugar cookie trio box , 2 Madeline boxes , 2 face masks and a 18oz Steele water bottle. Took some photos and was not rushed . Set me back $140. But this was on my bucket list of "travel trucks" cool 1x activity. I'm pretty happy :) read more

Hello; Hello Kitty Cafe Truck we meet again! My last review of the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck was back when they first had their launch at Hello Kitty Con in 2014! Wow; time sure does fly! Since then I've been to the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck a handful times and each time has been supercute! I'm always thrilled when they make a stop at Del Amo Fashion Center (Yay South Bay) and I always try to stop by and support. This year with the pandemic going on; I was slightly weary of going as I wasn't sure how the social distancing aspect would work out. I love Hello Kitty but am in no way going to risk getting sick. Thankfully I saw that for the most part; folks were social distancing and people were wearing masks. This time when they visited Del Amo Fashion Center they parked on the street in front that was blocked off from the rest of the mall. This was also nice way to distance the folks from other shoppers. I also saw the workers themselves were very efficient in taking orders. With two in the window; they were able to get the line moving quickly and efficiently. That was definitely a plus. Some of the popular items such as shirts (M and L size) as well as the plush did sell out but overall I think they had a pretty decent supply of their items. Ahhh, the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck. Where to begin? First off, I love anything Sanrio, especially Hello Kitty, so it was a no brainer that I would hit this up during its Illinois stop. Together, a friend and I made our way to Oak Brook Center to check out this fun novelty truck. It was our second year. The first year, the truck only had limited options, b/c of a truck malfunction. However, this year we had our pick of (nearly) their entire menu. The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck mostly sells treats, like sugar cookies, macarons and petite cakes. On top of that, they sell a keychain, plush, water bottles, a t-shirt and an adorable mug. Sometimes merch gets changed out for new merch, to keep it fresh. For me, I find more value in the tangible, non-edible items, to be honest. The sugar cookies are cute, but also thick and hard. The macarons were pretty tasty, though. Sadly, the tea cakes were sold out before we get to place our order. Speaking of which, get there early! We arrived about 15 minutes prior to opening and there were probably 80-100 people before us. Behind us, the line steadily grew. By the time 10AM hit, I would imagine they had, at least, 150 people in line! Even after a short lunch, the line was still incredibly long three hours after opening. So, if you know you want a full menu to choose from, hit up this truck early! This truck isn't as exciting as visiting a stationary Hello Kitty Cafe, but for fans, it's a nice way to celebration Sanrio! read more

I couldn't check in here on Yelp since the location is in Illinois, but the truck sure came to Columbus, OH at the Easton mall. They've got two trucks touring around right now. One on the western side of the U.S. and the other in the eastern region. They stationed right by the fountain that kids were playing in, so it was quite the attraction for kids, as well as young adults, etc. The line was long and stayed long the whole time. It wasn't a long wait though. The items they were selling were a bit expensive! They sold T shirts, water bottles, macarons, cookies, mugs. Everything was priced at least $10! Wow. Anyway, my sister got the macarons. She got 5 for $15. They were multiple colors and pretty cute. Not the best macarons I've had but pretty decent. It's fun that they came here though. I'm a huge fan of the Hello Kitty Truck! Items aboard are on the pricey side but certainly not disappointing. Everything is well-made and, frankly, adorable. I've gotten shirts and cookies from them in the past. This time around, I got a mug, madeleines, and macarons. They always run out of tea cakes pretty fast--arrive early if that's your top priority. However, the mug is adorable and the t-shirt is in awesome shape after a year. I would HIGHLY recommend trying out the madeleines--they were divine!!! read more

The truck opened at 10am so we got in line at around 8:30. When we arrived the line was already very long. By 10 am the line was UNBELIEVABLE. It was a hot summer day so the wait was rough. Around 3 hours (and we got there early!). They still had everything in stock when we went up. We got some souvenirs and lots of cookies and let me tell ya.. the cookies and treats are terrible! Omg! I have to say I'm a HUGE HELLO KITTY fan!!! I remembered finding out about the hello kitty cafe truck stopping by the KOP Mall, I was extremely excited for weeks before the event lol. Yes, I went to the Hello Kitty Café Truck when it was here. We went on the last day and it was raining so we actually waited in the rain to check em out. It's kinda like a food truck, wait in line to order something, pay then receive what you ordered. There wasn't much too interesting that we saw but some other people in line were beside themselves waiting in anticipation to get to the front. We just got 2 boxes of the macarons. We received a free Hello Kitty Café tote bag with a food purchase over $25. It must be a food item, not a coffee mug. Read the sign carefully if you really want that tote bag. The macarons were actually pretty good, by the end of the day, I destroyed an entire box. Cute little design of Hello Kitty's face on the macaron too as you eat him/her. Other than that, if you into Hello Kitty, you can check them out next year or whenever they come back to Seattle. read more

My friend and I stood in line with her kids in the 100-degree Vegas heat. Her little boy wasn't feeling it and had to be taken inside Fashion Show Mall. We were melting but nobody complained and just focused on the cute yummy treats that we'll be having for being patient. We were given fans and stickers for waiting. I've been to Sanrio Puroland in Japan, Hello Kitty Cafe in South Korea and Hello Kitty Sweets Cafe in Taiwan. Sure, those places serve a lot more than this truck does...but it's a food truck! Don't expect cute and fancy lattes with Hello Kitty's face on top, Hello Kitty-shaped cakes and savory items. They only offer a few things: Macarons, petit four cakes, strawberry lemonade, water in a bow-shaped bottle, doughnuts, shirts, Chubby Baby headbands...and if you buy $25 or more, you get a free small HK Cafe bag. The macarons were alright. Their rainbow-colored minus indigo and violet. The strawberry lemonade was nice and tart. But the doughnuts were better than the ones they have in Sanrio Puroland which was pretty much like a sweet bagel. We took pictures of the cute truck after we got our sweet treats. I love all things Hello Kitty. The owner of the truck is real smart since he knows that die hard HK fans will buy anything. The truck in itself and its merchandise are the cutest things ever. They have a small menu which consists of bottle water, strawberry lemonade, cookies, donuts, petit fours, macarons, a mug and a shirt. Everything is expensive given the size of the food. It's to be expected though, since prices for all things Hello Kitty are inflated. The food is okay. It taste like mass produced desserts. Truly nothing special about the taste. I am a HUGE fan of Hello Kitty and when I heard that this truck would be rolling into my hometown at the Irvine Spectrum, I was super stoked! The truck was scheduled to be at the place from 10am to 10pm. My friends and I got there earlier to wait in line, and there was a bit of a line even 15-20 min before the event started. My girlfriend, niece and I got to the Hello Kitty Cafe at 6pm. We didn't quite know where to find the truck once we parked at Fashion Show mall but we were aware it was in the same place it was in August. Unfortunately, whoever posted this event on Yelp failed to mention the exact location. We had to use Facebook to find out where people were checking in at. Once we found our way through Forever 21 to the valet area, we were pleasantly surprised to find no lines. Woot woot! Honestly, the items are expensive, but I was more than happy to spend money on everything. My niece and girlfriend are great bakers, so I was very happy to hear that the cakes and macarons were fresh. I bought the doughnuts, but was too full from our late lunch to have any that day. Both my husband and I had the doughnuts the next day and I'm glad to say that it wasn't stale or solid as a rock. My husband even commented on how cute the petit cakes were that he didn't want to eat them. And I was very happy to see that they had the pink t-shirts. I believe when the Hello Kitty Cafe truck was here in August, they had the white t-shirts. Not a fan of white t-shirts. I saw two other men working with the mobile cafe wearing different black shirts. I'm hoping the next time, they'll have the black t-shirts. Per the attendant, because I bought one of everything and an additional strawberry lemonade, I was able to get a second bag. Interestingly enough, my total came out to $55. Biggest waste of time ever!! If you live near the city where one of these are, Either go really early or don't bother. Honestly personally I would never go again at all. I live in Austin and these trucks never come there anymore. So me and my boyfriend drove to the one in San Antonio in the morning. We end up getting there around the afternoon. I know there may be a long line but they said they'd be there till 8 PM so I thought they'd have plenty of extra stuff. NOPE. We get there and are told no one else can wait in line because they are already getting sold out of stuff. It's really hot out & I'm already a little frustrated. I don't want to be entitled I understand that will happen with these things. However, it is super misleading to have it last until night and already close 6 hours early. Moreover, maybe bring extra merch in case this happens or perhaps limit how much each person can buy if that is the case. I have a strong feeling people were just buying a bunch of stuff to sell later. Especially given, the pandemic and people losing their jobs. I missed the truck out last year when it was in Bethesda MD. When I found out they were in town this weekend, I stopped by. Expected to see a long line, there was none. Maybe it's because of the 40 degree weather. The crowds and long line and wait everyone experienced years ago was definitely non-existing. The two guys working were okay. Not very hello-kitty vibe nor extremely warm nor friendly. Hubby took a glance and noticed that at one point they looked quite bored between customers. I got the macarons and cookies (for a friend since they said the cookies last about a month). Not sure where the food items were made but there wasn't an expiration date on the cookie box that I could find. I wasn't going to tear apart the packaging to find it since it's a gift... Macarons had a cute packaging, BUT be aware that it's not a tightly sealed box. It's a box with a sleeve cover, meaning if you tilt the box unknowingly, you'd end up giving a few customers as well as the staff an "oh my gawd my macarons all fell to the ground" show... One of the macarons (the cutest one with hello kitty face) fell across the truck, and was sitting on the ground for 5 mins when a guy who probably lost a bet with friends picked it up and ate it... As for me, I never got to taste it... though I did take a picture of the remaining 4 that I picked up... still, they were inedible. It stinks that I have to do this but this event could have gone better. I went to the truck they had in New Orleans recently which the hours were 10am-8pm. By 3pm all the treats were sold out expect for the pre packaged cookies. I stood in line for 2 hours only to get close to the front and be told that they only had 8 water bottles left and only one box of cookies left. Literally after announcing that a young woman 4 people ahead of us still bought 5 bottles. I luckily managed to grab the second to last bottle and left the last bottle for the people behind me. As one would think the long line behind me was pretty angry. The only saving grace to this event was the guy and girl who were running the truck who nice as possible. Trying to diffuse angry hello kitty fans. A nice gesture that they had was if you buy 2 packs of cookies you get the little hello kitty tote. As this was my first experience with this event it leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth. Hahaha the $$$$ rating i.e. "ultra high end".... Hello Kitty would be very flattered and smirking at all the exasperated patrons complaining of the long line and pricey desserts. High maintenance kitty indeed. I believe this is the first time the Hello Kitty truck visits NorCal, for the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown. I can hardly imagine the truck braving through the bug-infested, windy roads of the 5... Kitty must have gotten a car wash bubble bath because I found it pink, perky, and shiny. We came on Day #2, arrived at 9:30am (opens at 10), didn't reach the end of the line until a little after 10:30, and spent $40 for 2 boxes of macarons and 1 box of doughnuts--quite a pricetag just because the desserts come with a bow and come in a box that says HK Cafe. This Hello Kitty fan club pilgrimage sounds like madness, but priciness and lines are nothing new to SF (fun fact: there is actually a "SF Loves Waiting in Lines" Tumblr blog). Spending $$ and waiting in line for the iconic Hello Kitty Cafe that will get many likes on Instagram now does not seem unreasonable in comparison to spending $$ waiting in line for the daily Starbucks with an Instagram that awkwardly gets 1 like. Food-wise, the baked goods were surprisingly decent--I thought it would taste like fast-food-grade formulations of sugar and high-fructose corn syrup. I had expected the macarons to all be the same with the exception of different food coloring, but they actually had distinct flavors, and I would rank the macaron level on par with La Boulange (overall, Hello Kitty Cafe dominates of course, because they have bows) Service was good--friendly and efficient, and there a staff member walking down the line to hand out stickers. The crowd is also nice because everyone stood around politely and waited their turn to get a picture with the truck, the back side of which has turned into a convenient instant photobooth that has sufficient pink and cutesy to be purikura (Japanese photobooth)--just add sparkles. Tips: - If you have any kawaii apparel that borders on too embarrassing to wear on a normal basis and/or large bow hair clips, now is the time to cosplay! - The doughnuts should come with a "this side up" storage condition sticker... we carried it around vertically and they were smushed by the time we got home. It was sad and simultaneously, extremely amusing. (Me: "Can I take a picture of these fail doughnuts so that I can have something to laugh at when I'm stressed?) - Sun protection recommended for the long wait in the sun (I always forget because SF is so rarely ever that sunny). Okay, I obviously came here by accident as I thought this was the Hello "Titty" Café. Boy was I wrong, but in the end it all turned out well. My wife ended up spending $70 which is way less than what I would've ended up spending had it been what I thought it was. In any case, she bought three doughnuts ($10), macarons ($15), a mug ($13) a bottled water ($3), a Strawberry Lemonade ($4), and a Shirt ($25). I admit, all of this stuff is way overpriced, but it is unique and it's a rare occasion as they only come to Vegas once per year. However, I must admit that all the stuff was very cute. Yes, I said cute. Once we tried all the goodies we bought, I thought they were meh, not bad but also nothing special asides from all of it looking too cute to eat. So why the five stars you may ask, well there aren't enough stars in this world to sum up the feeling I get from making and seeing my wife happy. She absolutely loves everything and anything Hello Kitty. The look on her face alone made it all worth it, so shut up and take my money. When cuteness calls, I'm here to answer. I have seen Hello Kitty Cafe visit town in the past but I was always reluctant to go, scared off by long lines for mediocre desserts shaped like Hello Kitty. On this most recent visit by Hello Kitty Cafe to Fashion Show Mall in Vegas, my friend and I arrived around 3pm and were excited to see no line! I decided on a strawberry lemonade and a box of three donuts. I had to pick the most photogenic and reasonably priced items and was happy with my decision. The doughnuts were adorable and I tried them once at least, but I don't have any reason to go out of my way to try them again. Prices are high, but that's to be expected. read more

Let's pretend this didn't have a signature hello kitty bow on everything and judge it for what it was: bow shaped water bottles (okay fine they were cute), lemonade, bite size cakes, macarons, and donuts. The donuts tasted like your average donut at Safeway... definitely not as good as Krispy Kreme. The macarons were definitely tasty, from a first glance it looks like an empty shell but the little filling that's in it is flavorful. I think it would be a lot better if they had hello kitty shaped macarons (shaped as her body/head/bow). Many freelance macaron bakers make them so well, so I would have thought they would have came out with it. BUTTTTT since this IS hello kitty, it doesn't matter how mediocre the products were. Throw the HK bow on everything and people will wait hours. Even I fell into that 3 hour wait trap for the overpriced cute goodies. No wonder the yelp page says its $$$$ LOL. Overall, I think the service went well and the workers handled the Santana Row crowd very well and politely. I came an hour before they opened at 10, and it still took me 3 hours to get to the front. It took me 10 seconds to order and received my items in 10 seconds. So the real time problem is: people should know what they want ahead of time so we can make these lines go quicker! read more

It pains me to do this... I am so sorry... but the sweets here are not good! Being the hello kitty fan I am, I woke up bright and early to go to Santa Anita Mall to try to get my hands on the sweets that my friends have been raving about. When I finally got to the front of the line, I decided to get the Hello kitty donuts & cakes. 1. Donuts: - Frosting tasted extremely sweet and artificial, I didn't really like the aftertaste of it. - The doughnuts were pretty greasy and actually showed through the bottom of the box. - The actual doughnut was not soft and fluffy, it had more of a bready texture. 2.Cakes: - Tasted extremely sweet - Bite size Pros: The presentation of both food items were very cute! Cons: 1. Both items as I stated above were too sweet, it was borderline inedible in my case. 2. Pricing: $10 for 3 doughnuts & $15 for 4 bite size cakes, the pricing of these items are just way off. Don't get me wrong I am not a stingy person but the portions just do not equate to those prices. ** Tip: Spend $25 and get a tiny reusable tote bag. Final Verdict: I will consider maybe trying the macarons, but I have a feeling that it will taste just as sweet as the other sweets. read more

When we got there at around 1:25 pm, there was a really long line already. By the time it was our turn we had waited 2-3 hours, but it honestly didn't feel that long and was worth it. The only downside to it was that most of the items on the menu were sold out, but my brother and I did end up getting what we wanted. What I recommend to anyone who plans to go there when they visit at your location is to get there even 1-3 hours in advanced (only if you're really committed to wait that long instead of waiting all day), it's really worth it since you'll be able to get the items you want before they sell out. It was a very memorable experience for me since I also got to spend time with my family at the mall while we were already there. It was nice to meet a few nice people while being there and the guys working at the truck were both really nice. Can't wait to go next year! read more

I was really looking forward to the Hello Kitty Truck coming to the Miami area. The line at Sawgrass Mills was too long for me to wait so I went to the Aventura Mall. The items are cute but expensive. The 3 stars are for the fact petit fours were horrible. They tasted spoiled and I had to throw away. For that money, they need to make sure they are not spoiled. Love my $ 20 and $ 22 mugs though... lol.... read more
