The Belgian Waffle was good, as was the "Combo," adding eggs, sausage (in my case) and home fries were good as well. Their home fries are deep-fried (and savory) -- without the usual heavy, greasy flavor that griddle or sautéed home fries typically have-- were great, and very hot (temperature) . I was hoping to try the Dutch Pancake but their oven was broken and they weren't serving them. My partner John had one of the omelettes, and it was likewise good. Nice clean place to meet friends and family. The food is normal diner food. Nothing spectacular. I thought it would have more French cuisine but mostly American breakfast dishes. Our waitress was inexperienced but pleasant. One of the people in our party didn't get his food when everyone else did. We shared our meal with him so he could eat with us. They prepared his meal to go and he still had to pay. Not good customer service. We could have went to IHOP or Dennys. read more

I've been to Le Peeps in Indy and had expected this to be at least similar. However, here's how it went... Stepping in at 8:45 am, we were greeted and seated as you would expect. After 5 minutes, we were asked what we wanted to drink. Coffee and water. That came to the table rather quickly. Now keep in mind there were only maybe 8 or 9 customers. Balance that with 3 wait staff and 3 in the kitchen. After another 5 minute wait, the waitress came back and asked what we would like. I ordered the Meat Quiche with fruit for $15 and she ordered a croissant for $4. As we waited for the kitchen staff to prepare our meal, we saw a couple come in, sat down then get up and explained that table was dirty. After looking around, we saw several other tables that had not been cleared. As we continued waiting for our meal we tried having a conversation sitting next to each other. Now I said tried. The acoustics in there is very echoey and makes hearing each other difficult regardless of sitting right next to each other. Oh, and because of this, two tables from us had to talk so loud that it made it uncomfortable. Now we are at 9:05 and no food. Now I know that most restraints make items like quiche ahead of time as well as croissants. So I didn't expect this to take as long as it was taking. Remember 8 or nine customers and 6 staff. Ok, here comes the meal. I look at this and it is a 3" quiche. Cut into it. Take a bite out of the middle. Cold. The croissant wasn't crusty, it was hard like it was freezer burnt. I sent this all back and allowed them to do a redo. Now we are into at least a 45 minute wait. During this time, we watched the staff in the kitchen. I saw them walk into the freezer and apparently get our next order. Yep, frozen food. Most likely from somewhere like Gordon Foods. Two of the cooks had beards. The female in the kitchen had long hair. No hair nets or gloves. Not sure about what the health department requirements are. Finally, here comes the replacement food. First the quiche is the wrong kind. Cut into this one and guess what. Yep, Cold. And the croissant was the same as well. When asked by the waitress if everything was ok, I had to say no and to bring the check. Yep, I would pay for it. But only once. She said that there would be no charge. As we got up to leave, I did leave the waitress a tip. As you know, most of the time the problem is not the wait staff, but the kitchen or the manager. That was the case here. We won't be going back. New to West Lafayette. Breakfast/brunch/lunch upscale that does not feel like a typical Lafayette eatery. Yes, it is pricey but the quality/quantity is worth it for a change of pace in this area. I had an omlette- portion was large enough to take 1/2 home. Menu variety was HUGE with many items not available anywhere else in the area (GF belgian waffles?) I really hopes this makes it and the typical "that's too expensive" crowd does not cancel it. We need nice places! read more

Meh. Le Peep has a creative menu that should make it a great place to eat. Unfortunately, it's often a disappointing experience. Order a "waffle with strawberries" and receive a waffle with a few tiny pieces of strawberry and a light dusting of powdered sugar. Order a "hot turkey club" and receive an uninspiring, barely toasted sandwich with one thin slice of overcooked, dry, jerky like turkey and other flavor free ingredients. Like I said, disappointing. Seems like most of their issues come down to kitchen execution and perhaps cost consciousness. If cost is an issue, raise prices a little to maintain quality and delight your customers! read more

Food is really good. It's enough to give them 3 stars in spite of their terrible wait staff. This is my 3rd time here and the service has been the same. Understaffed with what seams like an inexperienced crew. If you pay attention every server say "sorry" for something. Typically a lot of "sorry for the wait". But the food makes up for it. For some reason this city has a terrible breakfast selection. Place is clean with nice outdoor seating. Bottom line, they need to bring in someone that knows what they're doing. read more

The two stars are for our lovely server. She has her work cut out for her. Imagine being on the front line serving mediocre overpriced food. Poor gal! We waited almost an hour for our meals - not her fault. She comped us drinks and apologized profusely, bless her! Party of six: tostada was flavorless, salmon Benedict was just regular salmon - not smoked (should have been a different price point!), two ladies left their salads untouched. Only items that appeared promising were the chicken bacon sandwich and the waffle. Try it once at your own risk. Maybe they are working out the kinks? Restaurant is brand new to town. But the chain is well-established so I'm not sure what went wrong. read more

I usually eat at the location in Indy but I decided to venture to this location, seeing as it's close to campus. I was impressed with the atmosphere of the restaurant and the kind aura of the staff. I had Nova as my waitress, she was very attentive and tended to all of my needs with such kindness. The wait was pretty long but I understand that stuff like that happens. The food was great! I was a little let down by my experience at the W.Lafayette LePeep. I suppose I expected more with food and environment. It's no more than a regular joe diner with high end prices. Not a good combo. A simple breakfast of eggs & sausage shouldn't be $16. Basic black coffee is $4. A plain stack of pancakes a whopping $15. Good food but not a good portion size to fill me up. With that said, we were greeted and seated right away; there was no wait to sit down on a Sunday morning. The environment is modern, small, nice and bright but noisy. Our server was nice. The place itself is very pretty and modern. Extremely beautiful inside. The service we received was also very great. The two ladies working did an amazing job balancing everything. The food was terrible though. Started with the $8 Hoosier Bread and it was nothing special. Just some cut up dough with very minimal toppings. Then I got the $13 Dutch Baby Pancake. Menu said extra wait time, no worries. Didn't feel like we waited much longer than a usual restaurant. It was served in a cast iron skillet, as pictured, and all I could taste was the actual skillet itself. The pancake was completely stuck to the skillet and was ultimately inedible. Absolutely fantastic breakfast experience! Heard they struggled when first opened, but that needs to be excused. This was our first visit and everything thing was done extremely well. From our friendly waitress, Ashley, to the manager following up to make sure all was good. Should have taken pics of food, as Eggs Benedict, Monday Blues Pancakes and Road Warrior were all impressive in presentation, delicious and huge portions. We all have 1/2 left for tomorrow! Consider this restaurant as your next regular breakfast spot! We went on a Friday morning (so it wasn't busy at all) and got the Chicken and Waffle as well as the Wilbur and Gravy. My Chicken and Waffle dish was amazing- the chicken was tender and flavorful, and my wife's Wilbur and Gravy dish was also a hit. They have a lot of dishes to consider on the menu, but try these next time you visit! Additionally, the coffee served at Le Peep is probably the best among diners in the city. The roast is not too strong, and the coffee isn't watered down (a common problem for diner coffee). Definitely try their coffee as well! Finally, I'd highly recommend Le Peep if you're looking for a relaxing, enjoyable breakfast experience. The decor is tasteful, and the service is top-notch. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes so we gave our name and phone number. 30 minutes later we were told that the kitchen was backed up so we would have to wait another 10-15 minutes. We said that was fine since we had already waited a while. We ended up waiting 30 more minutes before being seated. We were finally seated, brought water, and were told by the waitress that she would come back in 15 minutes to take our order since the kitchen was still backed up. About 15 minutes later, we ordered. 20 minutes after that, we received our food. Total wait time: 1 hour and 35 minutes. DO NOT go here until they get their act figured out read more

Beautiful restaurant and owners/managers are trying hard to please. Very clean! In my opinion, quality and quantity at current price point will not be sustainable. Too costly for too little (quality and quantity). Larger portions would've resulted in a better review. Staffing appeared sufficient but seating and food service were slow. A 2.5 star would've been my choice if available to review as such. I bumped up to 3 star as to give benefit of doubt since this is a new location. read more

Horrible, Dirty milk glass, dirty coffee cup, grounds in coffee, eggs over easy broken and over cooked, pan cakes chewy and over priced!!

UPDATE: After having a previously negative experience here, I decided to give it another shot. As someone who is gluten free and dairy free, I really wanted to like this establishment. Upon my return, I found the service to be MUCH better! Everyone was kind and prompt. The food still took a bit longer than I would expect, but it was good. Definitely met my expectations! We waited more than an hour for our food and when it arrived it wasn't right. Server was very nice but the food and prices aren't good enough for me to ever go back. Would give -5 stars if I could. The restaurant was full and over AN HOUR period, only one table received their food. We ended up being late to our event because we just kept waiting for something, anything. Finally when we got up to leave, one meal (out of 4) was boxed up and we still had to pay for our drinks. I have never waited so long for food only to end up with nothing. They had no good excuse as to why no one was getting their food, only that the kitchen was short staffed... even if there was one chef, SOME food should have been made. Horrible. The manager should have come around to every table and apologized. Appalled we were even charged for our drinks. Without a doubt will never return and suggest you find any other breakfast place to spend your money. read more
