    Waffle with eggs Benedict
    Ali B.

Loved this place! I've always walked by this place but never really knew what it was so I ended up searching it on Google and read reviews they served amazing brunch. And amazing brunch they did serve! I ended up getting their waffle and eggs Benedict. The waffles tasted different than what I thought they would taste like. They were very light and had the texture of bread. When you dipped it into the maple syrup, it was quite nice. I also got the bottomless coffee. I'm usually not a fan of coffee from brunch places but trust me, this was one of the better ones. The service was quite quick and the interior was nice and cozy inside. We got a table right away.

    Waffle and salmon egg benny

I've always seen huge queues outside le petit dej, and wondered what all the fuss was. But I totally get it. Luckily we got a good day and managed to get one of the last two tables, but I would definitely be prepared to queue up here. But it's worth it for sure. I love the interior. Dimly lit and cramped but so quaint and unique. It definitely sets you into one of the busy cafes of Belgium amongst the roaring streets of Toronto. Opted for a waffle after hearing how good they are, with a eggs benny. The egg was great and salmon was fresh, served with an apple slaw it just made it. Every flavour was different but went together. But the star of the show was the waffle. The flavour was so unique, I never had anything like it. Not sweet at all and a little like bread, but so soft and melt in the mouth. Paired with the syrup it made for a perfect breakfast that definitely doesn't feel like you need to wean off sugar for the rest of the day! Coffee kept coming and definitely some of the better stuff compared to other brunch places. Bottomless is best! So good!

Finally happened! Many a time I'd drive by on a weekend and see a massive line up. Toronto is notorious for line ups, especially when it may well be worth it. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case here. I give it a 3.5. The food gave me mixed opinions. The claim to fame is the Belgian waffles swapped out for your traditional English muffin for the Eggs Benny and we tried both the Melody and the actual poached egg. I liked the apple slaw - crisp and fresh. However, the waffles were a bit of a bummer. Not sure because they were cold but they didn't taste like they were made in-house, or anything special. It wasn't too busy this Sunday but they may not have had enough help. The wait staff were overwhelmed and it showed. I'd come to Petit Dejeuner only for something convenient, but sometimes the line up is anything but.

PDC is a very cozy café located beside George Brown College. The lady who took our order was so nice and friendly. We ordered "Benjamin Waffles", "The Hungry Gal", "Toast Champignon with a Poached Egg" for brunch. And B52 Coffee, Latte and Mimosa. Everything was very delicious, specially the waffles. It was crispy and moisty inside.

Was looking for a simple brunch on a rainy gloomy day. Found this spot and got the salmon eggs benny. Unfortunately was quite disappointed. The hollandaise sauce was too sour and the salmon tasted old. The potatoes were not crispy at all and the portion was very small. The apple slaw was ok. I do say the service was great. The waiter was attentive and refilled our coffees many times.

A nice little cozy home feel restaurant. The food is just about as classic as you can get without being too influenced by modernity. As for the drink, it's as you expect in terms of the flavour profile - not overly sweet either which is a plus. Attentive servers make this place a spot where you can flag people down if you require any additional things.

Time: Visited for brunch on a Thursday morning and we were seated without any issues. There were a decent amount of people there for a weekday morning and although there was just one server, it didn't feel too busy. Menu & food: A good mix of dishes and choices - it made it hard to choose for sure! I got the croque madame ( with a sunny side up egg rather than a cheesy outside ) and then shared the strawberry waffles. Both dishes were really delicious and I would order either again since they were filling and tasted amazing. Price wise, I would say they both were a little more than I'd rather pay for the quality and quantity, but once in a while I felt it'd be a fair meal. Service: Great all around, friendly staff and the food came out pretty quickly. Props to the one person working the entire time!

    - Bar-like intimate brunch place ($20-30 per person) - Great smoked salmon omelette! Feels healthy - Can ask for multiple mixes for juice (I got a grapefruit orange passion fruit juice) - Croque Madame is tasty with ham, cheese and egg - Come during lunch on weekdays to avoid the crowds, good service

    Belgian waffle with eggs Florentín
    Quin B.

I visited Le Petit in Toronto after looking for a place to eat breakfast while waiting on my train at central station. It was a nice little Belgian bistro with a simplistic breakfast menu. I was in a rush and the service was quick and swift. I ordered a waffle with eggs Florentine. The spinach was fresh and the waffle was light with a mild buttery rich flavor. As expected, a nice maple syrup accompanied the waffle. The apple slaw that came with it was different, but likable. They kind of knew that my time was limited and the bill was brought and taken care of promptly. It was a pleasant atmosphere and experience.

We ordered Belgian waffles with salmon and classic breakfast crepe. Both are very tasty. For drinks, we ordered cappuccino and grapefruit juice. Coffee is just so so, it's like machine made coffee. Grapefruit juice is not fresh squeezed. The service is ok. It is a cozy restaurant and it's getting crowded at 9 am in the morning.

    Eggs benedict

My friend and I were looking for a different breakfast place. We were tired of the same chains. It's a small and cozy place with attentive waiters/waitresses. We were very surprised how good the food is. We had eggs benedict and waffles and it was delicious. We appreciated the flavors and it seems as if everything is made to order (the chef literally cuts everything once the order comes in) which means you wait a little for your food but it's so worth it. Prices are okay but that is subjective. We will definitely go back.

    Waffle Benjamin
    Koji S.

I ordered the Waffle Benjamin - a combination of an ultra-light and crispy Belgian waffle and an eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, with a tangy apple slaw on the side. All the components hit the mark for me, but a friend grumbled at the portion size - and it's true, the Belgian waffle was much lighter than the potatoes that would customarily occupy that section of the brunch plate.

Food and staff were wonderful. The apple slaw was soooo good. We got the Benedict's a the pancakes and would recommend both.

Especially liked the artwork and table with their name on it. I had the Nutella latte, Nutella and strawberry waffle, and a side of sausage. Didn't like the sausage at all (tasted a bit gamey) but that's probably because ein the states there are nitrates, etc that make it taste better. No biggie! She switched it out for bacon, and that was fine and appreciated. My sister had the breakfast tacos that looked delicious and she really enjoyed. All in all this was a great pick and I would return when im Canada ever again and I'm in the area. Keep up the great work, Pierina. Her welcoming attitude attentiveness and knowledge of the menu was stellar and warrants recognition. Thank you!!!

I ordered a latte and grabbed two goodies for the road, a raspberry croissant and a ginger molasses cookie. The staff working were welcoming and friendly and my items were ready rather quickly. Once I got back to my hotel, I settled in to enjoy and get some work done. My latte was smooth and creamy and just what I needed to get my day started. My raspberry croissant was beautiful and packed full of flavor. The filling wasn't too sweet and there was just the right amount inside. I saved my cookie for a snack while I traveled home later that day. I love how it had chunks of sugared ginger on top. The cookie had the perfect amount of chew to it and the ginger on top added an extra burst of ginger. It was lovely. I'm so glad I found this cafe on Yelp and I highly suggest you pay them a visit. I'm still dreaming of all the pastries I didn't get to try.
