Beyond the food, dinner here was an utterly delightful experience. Located on a small side street, the restaurant's interior is intimate -- it has the feel of dining in a home or small pub. We came on the early side and were welcomed warmly. The salmon with haricots verts was superb, seared and sweet outside, buttery texture inside. Asparagus risotto was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. My husband loved the blonde beer he ordered, and I was happy with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc that complemented the meal. For dessert, we shared homemade blueberry tart and a rich but delicate crème brûlée. The best part was the ambience -- casual, welcoming, actually joyous. The proprietor clearly loves what he does in the front of the house, service is great, and we found a mix of French and American diners. It's the kind of spot where you might, as we did, get into an enjoyable conversation with the folks at the next table or have an intimate dinner à deux . . . or just sit at the bar and watch the evening unfold. read more

The best meal I had in Paris and the most authentic. One of the best burgers I've ever had period and the fries were great. So glad we found this place. The owner was a trip, managing the entire restaurant alone and totally comfortable setting boundaries with people which as a therapist I loved to see frankly. So often we see service workers taking crap from people it's nice to see someone who knows he cooks good food and isn't afraid to set a boundary with you because he's booked every night solid. Ate at a bunch of places in Paris and literally none were worth reviewing except for this one. Elevated traditional French cuisine cooked well and absolutely not a tourist trap. read more

Wow! My experience here was fantastic in every way! I ordered the steak and fries, grits, and tomato bisque. The steak was cooked to perfection by the cook and the fries were even superb. The grits were the best grits I've ever had and the tomato bisque was super creamy and yummy! Usually, tomato bisque upsets my stomach but this one did not at all. You can tell all the food here is made fresh, especially when all of the staff tell you about it. The food is amazing quality and the service is great too! read more

Best meal we ate on this trip to Paris. And so affordable!! We found it a bit by accident and so thankful we did. The staff are amazing and accommodating and genuine. The food is PHE-NO-ME-NAL. Authentic Parisienne cuisine, freshly sourced and clearly a well thought out menu. The vibe of the restaurant is also a high point - the cozy lighting, the library shelves stacked with books. The risotto aux tres champignons (risotto with three mushrooms) was the best risotto I have ever had and my wife had the tagliatelles fraiches bio St Jacques (scallops with linguine and cream tomato sauce) was utterly amazing. The scallops were seared perfectly. The service was perfect warm and friendly (with two Americans struggling with the language). Also, the wine they suggested paired perfectly with the food. I found this place while spending a few days in Paris and staying at the hotel down the street. I wandered in after a very long day of walking and touring. I was tired and really didn't care to have to hassle at a tourist trap. This place filled the bill and then some. I ended up eating here twice and had a wonderful experience both times. This is a nice bistro where the locals pop in during the evening to watch some soccer or to have dinner. Be warned, English is not fluent here, but that's ok, if you try some French, they won't laugh at you. I highly suggest the duck confit. When I tried it, my eyes rolled up in my head. They used a lot of black pepper and that made it so good. You will undoubtedly like it too. Get yourself a nice glass of wine and sit quietly to watch the street a little and just unwind. read more

Amazing little bistro! The bartender at our hotel recommended this to us as it was literally around the block from us. There was no online menu to review, they write the menu out each day on the blackboard outside and inside the restaurant. It is small, about 10-11 tables and a few cafe tables outside. The decor was cute with library of books going around the restaurant and Edison lightbulbs over the bar. Our son had the crispy chicken cutlets and frites, he is a very picky eater and gobbled it up. I had the mushroom and Parmesan risotto, it was creamy and flavorful. Hubby had the entrecôte ribeye with hericort verts, steak was perfectly cooked medium and the green beans were buttery and savory. We enjoyed our meal with a reasonably priced bottle of Cote du Rhône. The service from the host/bartender/waiter was excellent and it was just him doing everything! We were in awe how he handled an entire restaurant full of people. Our check was presented in a paper back book, fitting in with the library theme. All in all a great little place and would definitely return on our next visit. read more

I tried to make a reservation on their website but it was down, I went to the fork website and reserved online there. It went through fine and I thought things were good. When we arrived at 830 for dinner the owner told me he had cancelled us because he was full. We had not received either a text or phone call. It was my wife's birthday and this left us scrambling for somewhere else to eat at 9 at night. I might have been less irritated if the owner hadn't stated that "it wasn't his problem ". read more

Small but very welcoming. Enjoyed the warm, unpretentious atmosphere and friendly staff as much as our meal. My son said the cheeseburger was the best he's ever eaten. My wife and daughter said the cream brûlée was the best they've had. The duck pate as well as the goat cheese / zucchini starters are very tasty. The service was awesome - the server gave us a full run down of their menu in English and was more than happy to answer questions. The meals were delicious. All cooked well and good proportions. The server gave us some great recommendations for wine as well which went perfectly with our meals. We had the pork terrine and white asparagus for starters. Steak with greens beans and Asparagus and Parmesan risotto for mains. Dessert we had chocolate molten cake and a dessert trio with coffee. Jean Baptiste explained the entire menu, written on chalkboard, and explained the food preparation. The chef completely deboned the roast sea bass (upon my request). Food is delicious, and my wife and I enjoyed especially the burratina, Camembert, and avocado toast (so Californian) appetizers. Entree favorites included the aforementioned sea bass and the risotto. It's a lovely little place, but I'm not sure why all the fuss regarding the food. My husband had a chicken fillet that was breaded and grilled and lacked flavor. My son enjoyed his "chicken burger" and my risotto with asparagus was nice, but not exceptional. My husband tried to order a steak but was told they could only serve it rare or medium rare due to ventilation problems with their stove. Never heard that before. As with most bistros, patrons smoke just outside the restaurant on the patio, and all the smoke came back in. It was overpowering. The staff was very kind and translated all the dishes into English for us (twice). For the money, it was not a bargain, or even a particularly stellar meal. read more
