I've been trying to find places that sell a charcuterie board with cheese and crackers AND salami or prosciutto. Anyway, this place got it! Niki amd I were looking for a meal late on Sunday but as we were walking around our neighborhood mostly everything was closed. As we wandered closer to the Eiffel tower we came across this restaurant. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our drink order taken and received in a reasonable amount of time. Niki ordered the chicken and mash entree while I gave the classic cheeseburger a go. We received our meals quickly and Niki is happy to report that the chicken was moist, well seasoned, and when combined with the mash potatoes its a delicious combination. My cheeseburger was stacked with fresh lettuce, onions, cheese, and their special sauce. This burger was perfectly cooked medium well and as far as taste, it ROCKED! The fries that accompanied this dish were expertly cooked and very tasty. The staff here were very helpful and very cool. This is a neighborhood cafe near les Invalides where we had lunch on a beautiful April afternoon. The place was hopping, and so we were not able to get an outdoor table. However the place, like many cafes and bistros in Paris, open out. My partner got a salad with ham, cheese and potatoes (I forgot the French name of this salad). I got a croque madame (with salad). My sandwich was really good! The croque madame does not come with fries, but one can get them as a side. The fries were perfect as well (they weren't too many thin, crispy ones). Service was quick and efficient, and the waiters were friendly. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area. read more

This was by far the best meal my husband and I had in Paris. Our last night here, we decided to pick a place near our VRBO and I am so happy we went with Le Recrutement. We were initially sat at a table inside right next to the bar but then our waiter came and said they found a better table for us by the window...a definite upgrade. We are simply...a charcuterie board, a fried goat cheese salad and crème brûlée with espresso for dessert. C'est magnifique! Wine was fabulous. Our waiter, Maxim, was so kind and wonderful. We were welcomed with a great and friendly service. The Menu was in English which made it very helpful. I ordered a cafe au lait with a Nutella crepe which I found very delicious and perfect for a cold night after walking for hours in the streets of Paris. They had cozy blankets on the chairs so you can put them over your legs if cold as well as heaters on top of you if you want to dine outside and enjoy the beautiful views of the city. I'd totally recommend this place for a great delicious snack and to relax after a long walking all day. read more

First review on Yelp, but have been a user for a few months. We sat down for a quick lunch in this establishment on our last day in Paris. We initially sat down outside, but wanted to change to sitting indoors due to strong wind. No problem. Can we get the table designated for four people at the window, even though there are only two of us? No problem. So far so good! We ordered a burger and a Caesar salad. And just tap water to drink, to which our waiter replied "why not", leaving us confounded on whether it was a pun or a criticism. The order was quickly served, to great satisfaction of our starving stomachs. At this point, it shall be noted that I am very rarely displeased by my restaurant experiences. Even on the occasion where a single aspect of the order is unfilling (for example, where the kitchen forgot half of my order) I am usually content with the overall experience. In this case, however, several factors aligned. - firstly, my burger lacked seasoning and the fries were spongy in a way that can only hint to the fact that they have been fried sometime ago and only served just now, - secondly, the chicken of the Caesar Salad my significant other ordered seemed a lot more like deep fried rubber than actual bird meat, and - thirdly, our waiter had the guts to literally beg (yes, literally) for a tip. We have been to several restaurants around Paris for the last few days and have not found this practise to be a typical custom anywhere else (which, by the way, it isn't at home either). All in all, can't recommend. Although the place was cozy and service quick, the quality of the service as well as the foods unfortunately accounts to nothing more than a thinly veiled tourist trap. This is not a fancy restaurant so don't expect the best food ever but the quality/price tradeoff was the best I've seen so far. I had the Cantal cheeseburger. A sports bar with French flair of rugby-themed memorbila sets the atmosphere. My former love had an onion soup and steak frites, while I had some chicken and frites. It was overall a good meal but my former love, being a avid cook and food person, was far disappointed. Le Recrutement Café operates late Mondays thru Sundays from 7 am to 2 am caterering to nightlife patrons as I imagine the large crowd when ruby matches are on. HORRIBLE SERVICE. We had lunch here and we had been waiting for sometime just to order. The waiters ignored us and went to take other orders first. After awhile a waiter passed by and asked us to wait another minute. Since we saw a waitress who was apparently available to take order, we gently waved and said pardon.
