Can be messy with it dripping, but it paired great with any dish you get. Prawn & Chicken wonton (4/5). Yummy but the chili oil was a bit overkill and more sour than spicy. Didn't taste too much of the prawn but it was better than expected. Service was also very quick! Got a seat quickly. There was a lack of experience with the service. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to order at the counter, scan the QR code at the table, or order from the server (?) if that's what her duty was. I asked if I could use the offers that were available on the website together. The free kids meal and the bok choy appetizer. She said she has to ask her supervisor... Then she said he had to ask his boss... After we ordered our food she let us know she put in the free bok choy appetizer order along with the kids meal for us. Cool. Then time passed... I just wanted to eat and get out because the weird BO/bad shrimp smell was getting to me. First the dry noodle came out... And then I was waiting for my son's kids meal because it was the same thing as the full sized dry noodle bowl but they didn't seem to notice the kids meal didn't come out. A few minutes later they brought out my shrimp noodle soup.l and side broth I ordered. My son had nothing to eat so I gave him some of my noodles with the broth. I thought my shrimp noodle soup was going to be spicy . It was not. The vegan broth was more peppery than my shrimp broth, which I thought was too shrimpy... Both were very salty too. We asked about the kids meal and we were told it was coming out.we could see through the inside of the kitchen food being prepared and none was my son's meal. The supervisor came and told us they had some system update and they were working on the kids meal. Idk it wasnt even a good excuse. we were pretty much done with my noodle soup and still the kids meal wasn't brought out. I asked them to just put it in a take out box because we had to leave. This visit, though not busy, service went downhill: my wife's laksa order was mixed up twice -- two wrong dry noodle bowls were brought to her before staff even got the correct dish going. When I asked for a manager, I was told there wasn't one on-site (on a Saturday night). To their credit, a server named Isaac stepped in, sorted it out with the kitchen, and comped the laksa with genuine apologies. This wasn't an isolated issue -- a few months back we had a similarly long wait, blamed that time on training a new cook during a busy shift. This was my first time visiting Le Shrimp in Irvine, and I really hope these two new dishes never leave the menu. The service was attentive, the restaurant was spotless, and I really loved the open layout and all the natural light. It has a different feel than the Costa Mesa location, but in the best way. They both have their own vibe and I really enjoyed this one. The Garlic Butter Shrimp with Squid Ink Noodles was so good! The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the garlic butter sauce coated every bite of those rich, silky noodles. Don't let the squid ink scare you. They're packed with flavor and don't taste like squid lol. But my favorite had to be the Shrimp Paste Chicken Wings! They have a sign out front that says "please wait to be seated" by an exterior podium, but the staff inside aren't always watching the podium outside. Order thru the staff or QR code they provide for your table. I recommend getting the wide/thick noodles as the broth clings to the noodles better. We ordered the A1 "Signature Trio Shrimp Noodle" combo with Braised Beancurd/Tofu; and the A2 "Spicy Prawn and Braised Scallion Soy Chicken Noodle" -- the A2's broth was slightly better and comes with a chili oil that I put into my A1. Been here twice so far. I absolutely adore their cold tofu and noodles! Although the service could be digital if you wished, we asked the waiter to take our order manually and he was helpful by consistently checking in and making sure we were satisfied with everything. Our group ordered the big prawn noodle and the crispy cod dry noodle, along with 3 different side options (spinach, bok choy, and fries). The noodles include an option for wide or thin noodle, based on your preference, and the dry noodles have a spicy or non-spicy option. Be warned, I would only come here if you really like shrimp. The 48hr noodle broth that they're known for is quite shrimpy, seemly giving a taste made from the shrimp head guts. If not a huge fan of the shrimp head parts, I would opt for the dry noodles. I got the spicy, which is more of a chili oil noodle. It was seasoned well though could be a bit salty if eating with the fried cod. The cod itself was nice and flaky, though I wish there was less breading and larger fish pieces. I would have loved a side of some soup with the dry noodle. Was going to order the trio shrimp noodles but the server talked me into ordering the Singapore Laksa noodles instead. He said it's pretty good here so I thought I'd give it a try. The noodles were a bit too overdone for me. I like my noodles el dente instead. Also, the broth was a bit too salty. We recently stopped by during shopping after seeing they were launching laksa and chicken rice, two true Singaporean specialties. However, it can still get very crowded depending on when you go. They have both indoor and outdoor patio seating available. I really appreciate that they have the option to select wide or thin noodles. We picked the wide noodles for both dishes. It was getting close to closing time but the host/server Jordan was prompt to get me seated and bring over a menu and some water. He also noticed I had my shopping bag on the ground so promptly brought over a basket for me to put my bag in which I was surprised to see at such a casual restaurant, but get that this level of service is common in Asian countries. I got their Prawn Noodles and a side of their wings and everything was so fresh and delicious.
