I rarely give places 5 stars! And this place was 5 stars! The ramen had like the best flavor! I never drink all of the broth and here I wanted to finish it all! The noodles are so soft and flavorful. I got the spicy tonkotsu with the spice on the side to add it in myself. It was so good! I wish I would closer to it to get it more often. It's small inside but service is so fast and wasn't crowded at all when I went for dinner Staff was friendly and easy parking

Awesome Japanese spot in Irvine! I don't know why I could never get into ramen, so I always just order the rice... and the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl was excellent! Perfectly grilled chicken! Sweet sauce! I love it!

Great dinner! Came around 7:30pm on a Tuesday so not busy. There was just one server but she was kind and checked up on us during our meal. The ramen was super solid: Tonkotsu Shoyu: 7.5/10 St. Louis Pork Rib Spicy Miso: 8.5/10 Tonkotsu Spicy Black: 8.5/10 The broth was super flavorful and I loved the wood ear mushrooms. Very satisfying meal!

I'm really surprised by the reviews here. Firstly, we got spicy tuna with crispy rice. The rice was much thicker than I'm used to and wasn't very crispy at all. It was more soft than anything and there wasn't a lot of tuna on top. This was lackluster for me. I got the tonkatsu black and the noodles tasted okay. They were al dente which I liked but the broth was okay. It had flavor but wasn't bursting with the right flavors - it somehow just tasted very peppery. And the pork was pretty tender but also not bursting with flavor. I wish it was more creamy for the soup. I'll still be sticking to HiroNori.

We were on the hunt for Ramen...place was empty on a Sunday afternoon. The server was quick to seat us and hand us the menu and get our waters out . Ordered the calamari---- just okay --- the sauce was just okay, however , i will say it wasn't greasy. One order was spicy tonkotsu black and the other was the shoyu tonkotsu . The spicy black would've been okay if it wasn't so salty... the noodles had great texture and the pork was alright , with a boiled egg . The BF liked his shoyu ramen . The restaurant was empty so there wasn't any noise other than the J-pop playing in the background . We also saw that they have $5 beers in case you were wondering. This place is just okay .....

Let me just say--this ramen SLAPS. I walked in with zero expectations and left wondering if I'd just had a religious experience in broth form. From the moment I stepped inside, the aroma of simmering pork bone broth hit me like a warm hug. The atmosphere was cozy, with soft jazz playing and an open kitchen where you can see the magic happening. I ordered the Tonkotsu Black Garlic Ramen, and wow. The broth was rich, creamy, and layered with flavor--definitely not watered down or overly salty like some places. The noodles were perfectly chewy and clearly made in-house. The chashu pork? MELTED in my mouth. And don't even get me started on the soft-boiled egg--it was like biting into a savory little cloud of perfection.

    Sweet and spicy chicken karrage.

Black garlic ramen has a smokey taste with garlic fragrance and a mild broth. I liked the smoothness to it. Noodles fantastic. Spicy miso has a much richer and bolder body base (as it should) and strong ginger notes. Spice was more of a pepper note that sat around the tongue and a little bit mouth. Sweet and spicy chicken. Was okay. Would've like it crisper. Lots of flavor but the sauce made it soggy too fast.

Great food. Forgot to take a pic early on because we dived right in. I will definitely be back.

Ambiance ~ 4/5 STARS vibrant, comfortable with wood table and chair seating. food ~ 5/5 STARS excellent ramen and appetizers. Service ~ 5/5 Our server, Miah, was excellent. She even gracefully cleaned up a water spill at our table while greeting us with comfort and taking take of five other tables. I look forward to coming back to eat at this restaurant again soon!

The menu is super extensive and it took me a loooong time to figure out what to order but I settled on the chicken ramen! From the menu photos, the broth seemed to be clear but to my surprise, it came out to be more like a tonkotsu style broth. Very heavy and savory. Not exactly what I was in the mood for but still quite tasty! I was looking for a light / clean broth so maybe next time I would order the veggie ramen. Besides the broth, the ramen noodles were really delicious! They had a good bite to them. As for service, our waitress was very attentive and accommodating to any needs. We came in at an odd time, so the place was practically empty. There are tons of seating though and it seems like a casual spot for food.

Service was great and the food was good. The sushi had too much rice but outside of that everything else was great!

Nice flavorful broth, good service. Solid neighborhood ramen spot in Irvine. Out go to spot when we are in the Orchard Hills area.

I went here a while ago for dinner and was not too impressed. The broth was lukewarm, toppings were minimal, and just expensive.

Is your vegetable ramen actually vegetarian? At your Orange location, one of the servers told me that it was made with bonito broth even though the menu says it's made with vegetable broth and I'm wondering if it's the same for this location.

Our vegetable broth is made purely with vegetables but the soy sauce base we use contains fish oil. We provide a soy sauce base without fish oil as well if you are looking for a vegetarian option!

This wasn't just a "ramen joint"--it was a masterclass in authentic Fukuoka-style soul food. The Broth: Liquid Gold The standout was always their Signature Tonkotsu broth. You could literally taste the 30+ hours of labor that went into it. It had that distinct "frothy" texture (the bubble of the bone marrow) that you only find in high-end Hakata shops. It was rich, creamy, and carried a deep umami funk without ever being overly greasy. The Hits * Black Tonkotsu: The roasted garlic oil (mayu) added a smoky, dark complexity that ruined all other garlic ramens for me. * God Fire: For those who like to sweat, this offered the perfect balance of heat without sacrificing the integrity of the pork flavor. * The Karaage: Genuinely some of the best fried chicken in the area. Massive, juicy thigh meat with a shattering, thin crust and that addictive spicy mayo on the side. * Customization: I loved that they let you pick your noodle firmness. "Hard" was the only way to go to ensure that perfect snap with every bite. The Atmosphere The Costa Mesa location always had a great energy--functional, clean, and unpretentious. The staff were always efficient, greeting everyone with a loud "Irasshaimase!" that made the experience feel truly authentic. It's heartbreaking to see such a high-caliber spot leave the neighborhood. If you were lucky enough to eat here, you know we lost a heavy hitter. To the team at Ikkousha: thank you for the memories and the best bowls in the city. You'll be sorely missed! Note: For those still craving that specific broth, their Torrance locations are still holding it down--definitely worth the drive to keep the dream alive. Come back to OC! !

The yuzu and lemonade didn't overpower each other, and a nice touch of the mint leaf! Kei Coconut Ube had a nice taste to it. The sweetness was nice, super purple in color, and worth trying at least once. Drink definitely does not look or taste like a beer so think of it as a sparkling Ube drink when you try it. Beef Tongue appetizer was very tasty and the appearance was pretty. The sauce was very delicious with a hint of citrus. Beef Bowl Udon was delicious as well. The udon noodles are in the middle of the thickness level. Broth was nice and refreshing, and the beef belly was super soft and tasted amazing. Seafood Tom Kha Ramen was really good. Seafood in it were shrimps, scallops, and squid/calamari. Not too spicy, but had a nice kick to it. Veggies were nice and mixed well with the seafood ramen! Unfortunately, the eggs do not come with the udon or ramen, but they do have free unlimited ramen noodles!!! They let you get it for the udon broths as well!
