The absolute worst service I've had in such a long time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant just opened and a group of us were all seated at once. Restaurant is rather tight with people placing/waiting for take out orders.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waiter we had was incredibly slow. We had to repeat our order several times, he kept forgetting certain sides and our water. The ramen wasn't even good. The light broth was plain and diluted. The heavier broth was also plain and diluted. How is this place so popular? Makes sense it's a chain for the quality and price of the ramen. Parking is terrible during peak hours. The lot is consistently congested. There is included tip, I can't recall the percentage. It just seems like a fail safe to provide terrible service. The pork buns were bangin' though. read more

Adding garlic and chili oil takes it up a notch so make sure to ask for it in the side (it's free). Spicy tuna crispy rice was a good starter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location inside is clean but really only seats a few with a lot of outside seating if that works for you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was fine, but they didn't check my order. Despite being clearly on the receipt they did not include all the sauces paid for and that are included. Only gave us the spicy but zero garlic... my families favorite. That was a bummer finding out when I got home. Other than that it's a regular spot we enjoy! This is a spot you should for sure hit up! read more

Probably my favorite ramen spot in OC. They don't have a menu that will overwhelm you either. My faves are the Tonkatsu if I'm feeling soupy or I'll get the cold spicy dipping noodles. The portions are generous. I always have leftovers. I love the side of garlic paste you can request for on the side. It adds so much flavor to the noodles. Be sure to put yourself on the waitlist before heading over. There's almost always a wait if you don't. read more

Hironori is such an Irvine staple, this has been a long time favorite since my college days. I'm so glad they have this second location in Irvine with way better parking. It is definitely more cramped so be aware that you might have to wait if you want to sit indoors. Otherwise, there's plentiful of outdoor seating. Go to here is the tonkotsu pork ramen with extra garlic and their house made hot sauce on the side! The broth is so rich and savory from the pork flavors. I just wish the noodle texture was thicker and springier, it felt overcooked and a bit mushy. Love the extra garlic they let you order though read more

I had a delicious large chicken rice bowl (generous portion). The chicken was seasoned very well! I really appreciated that the teriyaki sauce was only on the rice which allowed me to taste the flavor of the chicken. Make sure to get the side of garlic!! The noodles at HiroNori have good texture and chew when paired with the tonkotsu broth. I usually add the extra garlic and hot sauce to make it even tastier. This time we also ordered the cold dipping noodles. The sauce felt more like a Chinese inspired mala flavor which is a bit different from the Japanese cooking. I enjoyed it as it was a warm day we visited. The karage was crispy and juicy, which was gone in seconds at our table. The store has limited seating and so many people order it as take out and eat outside in the common area provided by the shopping plaza. There is also a 11% service charge that is including you dine in the store, but it also makes it as no tipping required. read more

Not as good as i remembered. The soy meat was a little soggier and less flavorful than I recall. Thankfully they come with the spicy sauce and garlic sauce as free additions so you can add and mix as you please to get the flavor you want. Broccolini still nice and crisp, broth is light but creamy. Service is pretty quick and beats waiting FOREVER at the other Irvine location. Compared to their first location in Irvine, this location is much easier to find parking and there are plenty of outdoors seating provided by the strip mall. The inside of the restaurant is very small and only had very limited amount of tables so it's not a place to come as a big group. We ordered the Tonkotsu ramen which had ample amount of chasu and veggies. The broth was robust and flavorful. We also tried the spicy cold dipping noodles which reminds me of Chinese mala dipping sauce and was very refreshing on a hot day. The karage was also perfectly cooked, the chicken was juicy and tender. Instead of a tip they instilled a 11% service charge. This place is a good place to get a quick casual bite. read more

HiroNori is a great ramen place. I prefer their spicy cold dipping noodle over their traditional tonkotsu ramen. I found that the coldness of the broth helped contrast the thicker noodles. I also love their crispy rice tuna appetizer and happily ate that! HiroNori often has a wait but the service is great and the noodles are well known and live up to the hype! read more

Love coming here after college classes for lunch or dinner throughout the week. Usually grab their hearty tonkotsu ramen but today, I finally tried the spicy cold dipping noodle. Loved the numbing spice in the dipping broth, but I wish they had a classic concentrated tsukemen style. Service by their manager Will was excellent - he was incredibly attentive and took care of me the whole way. Came on a Friday night, and they were somewhat busy with a little bit of a line to order. They have very limited indoor seating, but plenty of outdoor seating. Just expect yourself to eat outside, and they will deliver your food and clean up your trays if you eat outside as well. Good thing SoCal weather is always pretty good. It was very kind of them to notify us that they have an included a 11% fee, which to me basically feels like they already included the tip? Anyways, we did a to go order so it felt like a tip. Tonkatsu (6.5/10), $21 after tax and built-in tip - it comes with two slices of Chashu, half an egg, and one piece of seaweed. Chashu is super flavorful and soft as usual, just wish that they gave a couple more pieces. Half the egg was OK, nothing special - the profit itself is super rich, creamy, and pretty good overall for Southern California Ramen. Definitely holds up against other Ramen shops. - they have a side option for complementary garlic and hot sauce. Garlic kind of just melts in the broth, and wasn't overpowering. Hot sauce is actually pretty spicy, so be careful in how much you add to your soup Overall: pretty solid Ramen shop with nice outdoor seating. $21 for Ramen is pretty standard nowadays, but just wish they gave maybe an extra slice of meat, and an entire egg rather than just half an egg. read more

While the ramen is delicious there a few things that keep me from returning to this location. Restaurant is tiny with very limited indoor seating. I didn't appreciate that immediately after arriving, the hostess quoted us a 25 minute wait and when I pointed to the dirty vacant table, she seemed annoyed, but gave it to us. Prices have went up and in addition, they charge an 11% service fee. So now a bowl of ramen will cost you about $20. Yikes. read more

I ordered (last Friday) online & went to pick it up. Got a text saying what time it should be ready (I wish they could have done a "time call" where I could pick it up at the time I wanted rather than having to order it "right now" & go pick it up...I wanted it ready at a certain time...I was on my way out of town... so I had to finish getting everything ready to leave & then place my order...no real big deal but it would have been nice if I could have had it ready at [say] 6pm rather than having to wait until I was ready to leave to place the order & then go pick it up)...anyways... the food was excellent!!! The people that worked there were supppppperrrrrrrr nice too!!! Heard about this place after watching YouTuber, Rockstar Eater, and had to try it out! THE FOOD. - Tonkotsu Ramen. THE BROTH! Boiled for 24 hours, the result is an incredibly rich, savory, perfect broth. Pork belly was irresistibly tender and fatty. Noodles were a bit denser but cooked to a soft, chewy texture. Marinated egg maintained its soft, jammy yolk and complimented the rich broth. Bean sprouts added a crunchy contrast. It's the ultimate, deeply comforting, warm embrace in soup form. This may very well be the best tonkotsu I've ever had. - Pork Buns. Pillowy soft buns and fatty pork belly with pickled onions and hoisin sauce. Add a bit of mild chili for enhanced flavor! - Cucumber Crab Salad. Refreshing cucumber slices with furikake seasoning and topped with slivers of crab meat. It was good, but I was hoping for it to be marinated in vinegar. THE DRUNK DRINKS. - Iced Tea. Bold black tea, slightly dry finish. Add a little sugar to balance out the bitterness. THE VIBE. While the interior space is small, there is plenty of outdoor seating and the staff will bring the food to your table. The staff was noticeably gearing up for the day; filling small cups of chili, setting up huge stacks of to go bags, all burners up and running with huge pots of broth, etc. And while we got there as soon as they opened, we knew their day was about to get very hectic. Clarify the 16% charge? You say it's NOT a tip, but it does replace other tipping? Would my server get the same if I left a 16% tip instead? Someone said when they removed it they got charged a different fee? Not complaining, sincerely confused.

It will be a 10% service charge they do not have 16%. And yes if the tip is removed and you decide to add the same percentage amount it will still go to staff. If it's removed it'll be just the state taxes that are added. Hope this helps !

We originally had plans to eat somewhere else, but it was too long of a wait and we decided to have Ramen instead. I think due to our party of six, it was a little harder to be seated, but it wasn't a big deal. We checked in and we were informed by Justin that it wouldn't take too long for our table to be ready as the other family who was at the larger table was already eating their food. Great! We meandered around in the center and walked inside Daiso and Mitsuwa market and already thinking about where we would be eating next time. We received a text when our table was ready about 30 minutes later. The nice lady who took our order was friendly, sweet, smiling and made us feel welcomed. We all ended up ordering different Ramen bowls, and curry with rice. We also shared the large fried chicken and furikake french fries. I'll have to try that at home next time! Everyone enjoyed their choices. I tried the light Kitakata ramen this time because I usually always get miso or Tonkotsu. The light broth was easier for me to handle and I was able to adjust the spice level with condiments on the table. I also used some of the chili spices from my family members. After we were done and stood up, the next customer sat down immediately in the seats we were not finished vacating. We had 3 purses left over and had not finished picking them up before they just jumped in, so you have to be fast to vacate. This experience just made me prefer takeout more, but I think my tourists wanted air conditioning and there was not enough outdoor seating for our party. Maybe next time I can eat a quantity more befitting of a smaller party.

HiroNori is located in the busy Sand Canyon plaza, tucked in a corner next to Jimmy Johns and Grater Grilled Cheese. We went during lunch hours so parking was a little sparse but we got lucky with one! There are a lot of outdoor seats in the plaza that all the restaurants share. The restaurant itself only has three tables inside but we didn't mind because it is nice to sit outside. :) You order inside at the register first and then they give you a number, you find a table, and they serve you the food! They do have a service charge of 10% (not mandatory) but I think that's much easier than thinking about a tip! The service was great anyway so they deserved it. :) We wanted to try this ramen place after reading about their story in the news paper! Our go-to spot is Kitakata but wanted to change it up! I went for the Vegan ramen because I'm not a big meat eater. I have had so many vegetarian ramen in my time and I was so shocked by how good this broth was!!! Most places use a mushroom base broth for vegetarian ramen and it's always very bland and never that good. Here they use a sesame miso broth which is almost creamy in a way. It tasted so good, considering it is not a meat base. Plus it is packed with vegetables and vegan meat that satisfies your hunger. The broccolini is fried and to die for. That was my favorite part! My friend got their signature ramen, Tonktosu. He loves pork, especially pork belly. He said the meat had the perfect amount of fat for him that was all around very flavorful! The broth is very creamy and rich in flavor. (I had a few sips :)) His favorite part was the egg, though. They have seasoned soft boiled eggs that are just a little runny on the yolk. It has just a little sweetness to it! Next time he is going to add extra pork and egg! They also had us try their house spicy sauce which definitely gave it a little heat but the flavor was really good too. We didn't try any appetizers because we weren't that hungry but we will definitely next time! We kept seeing the servers take out a fried chicken to other tables and we were drooling!!!! First time at this HiroNori location today, and wow! I was impressed. We have to been to the Michelson location a few times but this location is a little different. You order first and then you find your seat either inside or outside. It was nice not having to wait on a waitlist. I liked having the order already in and just waiting on the food instead. They were incredibly busy! They had so many tickets for dine in orders and to-go orders. But that didn't stop them from having our food out in a timely matter. We waited about 20 minutes for the food to come out which seemed quick for how many people were here. There are a lot of tables outside that they share with the other restaurants but we could tell that everyone was here for HiroNori. We both stuck with our favorites, the Tonkotsu ramen with the original noodle. It was just as good as the original location! We add garlic and spicy sauce to make it extra yummy. The staff was so so friendly and they were really on it with their service. They were quick and efficient. They came by to make sure we were okay a couple of times. They even wiped down the outside table for us even though they had a lot going on. We really appreciated all of this since we saw how hard they were working. I felt bad but they were happy to serve us even with all these other orders going on. We tipped them cash on top of the service charge they had of 10% for all the hard work. They should get more than the initial 10%! The other location has a higher service charge. The other location usually rushes us out because they have limited tables and a long waitlist. In my pursuit of culinary delights, I recently visited HiroNori Craft Ramen, only to encounter what can only be described as a dining disaster of epic proportions. Salt Overload - The first assault was the broth, outrageously salty to the point of being inedible. It was a hypertensive's nightmare, akin to gulping down ocean water. A serious health hazard for anyone concerned about their blood pressure. Noodle Catastrophe - Then there were the noodles, which should be the star of any ramen dish. However, these were anything but; soggy, mushy, and utterly devoid of texture. They were a culinary abomination, ruining the very essence of what makes a good ramen. Deceptive Service Fee - To add insult to injury, the bill arrived with a sneaky 10% service fee tacked on, undisclosed and hidden behind a sign so small it would require a magnifying glass to read. This felt less like a legitimate charge and more like a scam. Dubious Management Tactics - The management's handling of the service fee reeked of deception and dishonesty. It's a clear indication of their lack of respect for customers, prioritizing profit over integrity. A Plethora of Better Choices - Given this lamentable experience, my advice is unequivocal: avoid HiroNori Craft Ramen at all costs. There are countless superior dining options available where your taste buds and wallets are treated with the respect they deserve. I had a disappointing experience at this HoriNori location recently, primarily due to the incredibly rude behavior exhibited by the manager. Despite the promising reviews about their ramen, the unwelcoming attitude of the manager overshadowed any positives. We came in a group of 4, and had already called in advance prior to our arrival. Upon arrival, we were told there would be a longer wait time, which was no problem at all since it was busy and we wanted to sit inside because it was cold outside. Once our names were called, we were told we could only seat at the 1x4 table facing the window, despite having a larger 6 person table available. The manager told us that a group of 6 would sit at that table instead. Since our group waited for a table so we could all face one another, we opted to sit outside instead. To our surprise, another party of four immediately sat in the 6 person table instead. When we inquired why they let this same numbered group of people sit there instead of us, the manager told us in an unprofessional tone that the other party changed from a group of 6 to a group of 4. This is extremely disappointing because most restaurants need all people in their party to be present prior to seating. The customer is not always right, but the lack of professionalism and civility is a problem. It's unfortunate that such excellent food is marred by such abysmal customer service, specifically by the manager. I'm a big fan of HiroNori and have been going to their other locations in Irvine and Long Beach for awhile now. We recently moved where we are closer to this Sand Canyon location. We walked in and were a little confused because it looks different than the other locations. There are only three tables inside and a cashier right in front. The cashier greeted us and let us know that we order first at the register and then sit either inside or outside at the community tables. The other locations have more tables inside and a server. This was new to us but the system made everything fast and efficient. I went with my usual order: Tonkotsu ramen with the garlic and spicy sauce on the side. We decided to sit outside since the weather and ambiance was nice. On a weekday around 1:30pm, the food came out within 10 minutes! That's the fastest I've ever gotten the food before. Even though they don't technically have servers, the food is brought out to you and they check on you a few times to make sure everything is good on our end. The ramen tasted great, like always. I will never get over the creamy pork broth and chewy noodles. Never disappoints. If you're in a rush or not, this place will get you in and out feeling full and happy. read more

I had a really enjoyable experience at this ramen restaurant and will definitely be coming back. I started with the edamame, which was simple but perfectly prepared -- warm, fresh, and lightly salted just right. For my take out meal, I ordered the pork rice bowl, and it ended up being the highlight of the visit. The pork was tender, flavorful, and cooked really well, with a great balance of savory seasoning over the rice. The portion size was satisfying without feeling too heavy. I also tried the yuzu lemonade, which was incredibly refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. It had a bright citrus flavor that wasn't overly sweet and added a unique touch compared to regular lemonade. The atmosphere of the restaurant was clean, relaxed, and welcoming, making it a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out quickly. Overall, the combination of good food, a refreshing drink, and solid service made this a experience. We were so excited to find out there's a new HiroNori near our house. We went there to pick up our dinner but it was a bit disappointing. We ordered an order of the crispy rice with spicy tuna, a large pork bowl, a shoyu ramen bowl and a side order of the soft boiled egg. When I opened my noodle container, I only saw ONE piece of pork chashu and the 2 pieces of soft boiled egg. I'm pretty sure the other store gave 2 pieces of pork chashu for the same ramen bowl that I always order. It's like they are restricting my protein consumption. The garlic that I ordered was also missing. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was okay. They could have put the eel sauce on the side, knowing that it was a takeout order. Even if you put special instructions they would ignore it. I asked to have the order ready by 5:15pm. But I got a text at 4:45pm saying the food was ready... So all the food was cold or soggy by the time we started eating. I'll stick to the Michelson store for another half a year or so. This Sand Canyon location needs more training. read more
