Amazing sizzling chicken paitan Dx ramen and rice dish. So hot and fresh it will burn you. So good and delicious and flavorful with perfectly seasoned meat leg thigh just so juicy for your lunch break. They have everything here at Los Olivos market place in Irvine. Fresh hot and spicy goodness made to order hot off the grill and deep rich flavors in their amazing broth. You get everything you need all in one location for breakfast lunch and dinner at MaruFuku Ramen.

This ramen restaurant is located inside a fairly busy plaza since there are other businesses, as well as Whole Foods. They're open daily 11am-9pm Parking was ok since there's a big parking lot with plenty of parking Service was attentive and very prompt in water refills Inside was spacious and had plenty of seating Menu had a good variety of items and prices were a little pricey but not too unreasonable Got the Hakata Ramen ($18) and there was the option to make spice adjustments. The pork broth was a bit too rich in flavor and was quite too salty for my preference. I also wished it was not so greasy and fatty but that's that's just my liking. The noodles were a little too firm and not as soft and chewy as I was hoping. I really enjoyed how yummy the egg was! The center was slightly runny and very flavorful since the inside was seasoned! The pork belly was quite thick but slightly too dry and fatty. I didn't really care for the mushrooms and green onions but it was not bad! Overall, I wasn't too impressed with the ramen and the broth was quite too salty and heavy so I didn't really enjoy it as much as I wanted to unfortunately.

Super good ramen restaurant that looks very elevated at affordable prices. The interior is beautiful and clean, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are attentive and helpful. The food was delicious with large portions.

Their veggie ramen broth was creamy and very flavorful. We got 'Spicy' (the last being 'Very Spicy'). Quite a few veggies in the ramen but would have loved it if it came with a few more like bamboo shoots and corn. You can order extras of those. The spinach noodles in the ramen had a very nice chewy texture. The ramen was topped with greens which became soggy and killed the texture of the dish. But overall, would definitely go back for the ramen. Their Brussels sprouts tempura comes with soy sauce and matcha salt - a very nice addition to the dish that really paired well. Highly recommend trying this dish! Prompt service and lovely ambience. A great spot to hang out with friends / go on a date. In a neighborhood with multiple restaurants. Parking is free in the lot outside. Accessible restroom - clean and well-maintained.

Insight was cute, but we chose to sit outside. Service was prompt and efficient. I had the spicy tan tan men every bite was different and so flavorful. I will definitely be back to try something else.

We came upon this spot by accident but am glad we found it. The takoyaki was hot and fresh! It was delicious. I got the special tenten ramen which was really good. I'm the spice level on that one is set so no adjustments can be made. I like spicy food and i couldn't used a bit more spice. The food is good but I docked 1 star for service. It took quite a while to get our ramen and we were trying to make eye contact with a server for a good 10 minutes to get our check. It was pretty busy and it is a new business. Seems like they are still trying to get into the groove.

We absolutely loved our experience here. The ramen had a clean, well-balanced flavor that didn't feel overly heavy or greasy. The chicken paitan was cooked just right -- rich and creamy but still smooth, allowing the flavor to stand out without being overpowering. You can tell care goes into the broth. The appetizers were just as impressive. The calamari and takoyaki came out hot and crispy, perfectly cooked with great texture. Everything tasted fresh and made-to-order. And honestly, the value makes it even better -- $8 per bowl is fantastic for the quality you're getting. Great flavor, great portions, and great price. We'll definitely be back. And yes- they are dog friendly, even gave my dog a bowl of water!

Marufuku is a solid ramen spot near Irvine Spectrum! I always get the chicken paitan dx which is a unique dish not usually found at other restaurants. It's a chicken ramen that comes with a sizzling plate of chicken on bean sprouts that's savory and sweet. The service is great, I felt that the staff was attentive and checked in often. The ambiance is also great. Although personally, the lighting is a little dark in this space so that may be worth consideration. Overall, it's a great lunch / dinner spot, definitely check it out !

    Lauren H.

Had a nice experience here! The ramen tasted good, but was not the best in my opinion - the broth was salty enough, but lacking something to make it more flavorful. The gyoza was ok. For the most part, I felt that the price point is much higher than some other ramen restaurants in the nearby South OC area. Service was fantastic, our server was very attentive and consistently checked to make sure things were going well. Definitely appreciate how our server was so thorough with both indoor and outdoor tables even during peak times.

A solid ramen spot with good tonkotsu broth! The tonkotsu ramen is flavorful and comes with a thin noodle, but you can also substitute it for a thicker noodle. I tried the maze soba this time, which is a soupless ramen. I liked the sauce and thought the toppings gave it a great contrast of textures. However the noodles were very undercooked and almost hard. If they were cooked a little longer it would've been a perfect dish! Our server was great and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for a casual meal.

Tonkotsu DX and Chicken Paitan DX ( Limited 15 servings)
    Sandy P.

Really a 4.5 star. Came on New Years Eve 2025. Firstly, the tonkatsu pork belly ramen was great, if not excellent! Noodles were nicely al dente and the broth was rich and satisfying. Toppings were also plentiful and fresh. However, the DX version was a bit stingy with just 1 additional thick cut pork belly on top. At least, when compared with the DX chicken paitan, which came with a whole leg quarter on a sizzling teppanyaki! Yet, as amazing as the chicken quarter looked, the taste of the leg itself was a bit of a letdown too. The sweet ponzu sauce was lathered generously on top, but the meat itself didn't have flavor, so I guess it wasn't marinated in it. And it was also a bit overcooked. So based on that, I'd say neither of the DX options were worth it. I must reiterate though, that both ramens themselves WERE worth it. And worth revisits. The soft egg was absolutely perfectly executed. One of the best I've seen. And a whole egg at that, not just a half. We also received stellar customer service. Our server Claudia was attentive and very courteous! I also liked how spacious it is, unlike the usual hole in the wall styles of a Japanese-run ramenya. All the best to this place!

I had no idea Marufuku Ramen had expanded outside of San Francisco at all until my former co-worker suggested that we have lunch here. I honestly had been quite underwhelmed by my visit to the SF location. But since it was his call, I agreed to it. Ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu (mild) with no add-ons since I wasn't particularly hungry. I guess it was fine? Tonkotsu broth was pretty flavorful and the right amount of rich without being overwhelming, with mild providing a very...well, mild kick. I'm not the biggest fan of Hakata-style ramen noodles, but they did well to hold the flavor of the broth. Pork was fine. Solid bowl, nothing special to me. Staff here were friendly, no complaints. I might have to try the Hakata Tonkotsu DX for a real comparison since that is what I had in SF. But for this visit, the ramen did not offend me.

Dairy allergy here. Does your chicken karage have any dairy?

No milk of any kind. Thank you

Does your Spicy TanTan Ramen have peanut butter or sesame paste? I'm allergic to peanuts so I want to make sure before I place an order.

Good morning , unfortunately our tan tan ramen has sesame on the main base , and chili oil that contains sesame oil. Regarding the peanuts the label said it might contain since it is made in a facility that produce some other items with peanuts .

Do you have gluten free ramen noodles?

Good morning , Yes we have gluten free noodles , but it important to mention that Kaeshi the Japanese oil mix use in our ramens may contain soy sauce ( soy sauce contain gluten) as an ingredient.

Do your ramen broths contain dairy at all?

Hi Lauren, no dairy at all in our broths. See you soon.

Hi, Do you mix park broth with chicken broth ion the chicken pitan ramen?

My server said the chicken is "just" chicken, specifically intended for those who don't want any pork products. It's delicious, BTW.

This wasn't just a "ramen joint"--it was a masterclass in authentic Fukuoka-style soul food. The Broth: Liquid Gold The standout was always their Signature Tonkotsu broth. You could literally taste the 30+ hours of labor that went into it. It had that distinct "frothy" texture (the bubble of the bone marrow) that you only find in high-end Hakata shops. It was rich, creamy, and carried a deep umami funk without ever being overly greasy. The Hits * Black Tonkotsu: The roasted garlic oil (mayu) added a smoky, dark complexity that ruined all other garlic ramens for me. * God Fire: For those who like to sweat, this offered the perfect balance of heat without sacrificing the integrity of the pork flavor. * The Karaage: Genuinely some of the best fried chicken in the area. Massive, juicy thigh meat with a shattering, thin crust and that addictive spicy mayo on the side. * Customization: I loved that they let you pick your noodle firmness. "Hard" was the only way to go to ensure that perfect snap with every bite. The Atmosphere The Costa Mesa location always had a great energy--functional, clean, and unpretentious. The staff were always efficient, greeting everyone with a loud "Irasshaimase!" that made the experience feel truly authentic. To the team at Ikkousha: thank you for the memories and the best bowls in the city. You'll be sorely missed!
