A friend and I checked out this place, and I was a little skeptical. My initial thoughts was that it was only going to be your typical restaurant downtown - good for late night drunchies. However, we checked it out, *sober.* My preconceived notions were proven wrong! We sat at the bar, which we didn't mind. If you want to sit at a table, I recommend checking to see if you can make a reservation! The wait for a table was 45 minutes - worth it in my opinion. I ordered the Tofu Pad Thai and Spiked Thai Tea. Of course, I had to get my pad thai extra spicy! They even brought over a tray of sauces. The server also brought us spicy peanuts which was so addicting! The flavors were amazing. I honestly could've just eaten bowls of this, lol. I've never had Spiked Thai Tea before, so I was very curious. You can hardly taste the alcohol. I definitely enjoyed it! The Pad Thai was delicious! Le Thai has some of the best thai food in Las Vegas! It's the perfect date night spot, located in the heart of downtown & with a super trendy interior. This place gets super packed on the weekends so definitely plan ahead or prepare to wait. It also tends to be busy during the lunch rush so try to utilize the waitlist feature on Yelp when possible. I've been here a few times now and on my most recent visit I had the lunch portion yellow curry with tofu. They don't play when it comes to spice so if you can handle it go for a 4 otherwise 2-3 is spicy enough. The food is always super flavorful & fresh. I like the unique taste their curry has. A bit more soul then the normal local spots. If you're in downtown give them a visit for sure or take a local date night out. You will not be disappointed! read more

Le Thai has been on my list of places to try for a while now. It's is a very popular dining spot on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas and often has a line of people outside waiting for a table. I finally decided to give it a go for happy hour and got there just a little after 5pm - which seemed to be a good time to go because even though the restaurant was busy, I didn't have to wait for a table. Le Thai's space is pretty small. I don't know if there were more than 20 tables but it was clean and had a nice, busy vibe. Their happy hour offerings are pretty good: chicken satay, pork jerky, waterfall beef, Thai chicken wings, beer, liquor, and wine. All at a discounted price! Our server was good. He brought out waters right away and said hello. He didn't rush us to order, and overall he was friendly - although on the more quiet side (which isn't necessarily a bad thing but I love to chat with servers to find out what they like to eat and to get a feel for their enthusiasm for the restaurant). I ordered Thai iced coffee to drink. It was very strong - much stronger than the ones I have had at other Thai spots - and not as sweet. I ordered 3 appetizers - chicken satay, chicken wings, and waterfall beef. The chicken satay was my favorite. It was tender and most flavorful between the 3. The waterfall beef was good but aside from soy sauce, it didn't have a distinct flavor. Same with the wings. I also ordered pad Thai and garlic fried rice. Both were good. I think that the rice was better than the Pad Thai. The pad Thai was a light on the gravy - I just prefer it to have more. Overall, I had a pretty good meal - I probably wouldn't stand in line to get a table but I'll definitely go back to try some of their signature dishes like the short rib fried rice and my favorite Thai dishes: panang curry and spicy basil. 3.5 Stars for me. read more

Ordered crab rangoon, waterfall beef, short rib fried rice, three color curry, pad thai, popcorn chicken, and mango sticky rice. Crab rangoon was crispy with a warm cream cheese with a little crab filling. Popcorn chicken was okay, chicken was a little dry but good with the dipping sauce. Waterfall beef, I could taste the fish sauce and maybe Maggi seasoning. That dish was a little salty so it needs some rice. Short rib fried rice seemed like it was fried in the rib oil. The rice grains were separate, rib pieces were flavorful. Three color curry was good with the sticky rice, chicken was a little dry. Pad thai was a little sweet for me, but overall was good, decent amount of tofu. Mango sticky rice was okay, sticky rice was cooked in coconut milk, the mango was on the tart size and came with more "coconut sauce" on the side to put on the mango. Me and my husband's friend is a regular here for lunch. It was his first time having dinner here, along with us. The place looks small from the outside, but inside is quite decent of a size. Very nice decoration & paintings on the wall. Brian, our server was really nice. When a server tells you that they are going on break, and introduces you to the next server that will be helping, that is what you call great customer service. Brian did that. Thumbs up dude! I was really looking forward to getting shrimp pad Thai, but honestly, I've had better. Still a great meal. It was actually a huge portion, that I couldn't finish, but I took the rest to go. I didn't order brown rice, but I'm actually impressed that they have that option. When I saw the drink menu, and saw that they had an ice tea that had alcohol in it, my eyes were wide open. I tried it, and it was actually really good. Very creative with that, especially the name. LOL Thai-Rish. I look forward to coming back again. Started with the Thai Pork Jerky, verbiage from the menu, accessed by QR code ' Marinated Pork jerky served with a basket of sticky rice and waterfall dipping sauce'. Next was the SHORT RIB FRIED RICE,, yes it deserves all CAPS, rom the menu 'One of the most famous Le Thai's Signature dishes. Made with pulled beef from short ribs stir-fried with waterfall sauce, egg, garlic, yellow and green onion and topped with cilantro.' Don't miss that! It just gets better, hold on, here it is... 3 COLOR CURRY (pronounced tri not 3) so Tri Color Curry, ours was chicken but you can have your voice of chicken, beef, pork or shrimp. Finally had a chance to try Le Thai and it definitely lived up to all the hype! BF and I went when there were still minor covid restrictions in place with a max capacity of 35% at that time so we decided to make reservations on a Monday night. We started off with spring rolls and crab ragoons. Solid appetizers, food came out hot and fresh. For our entrees, we wanted to try so many dishes like curry, pad kee mow, pad thai and of course....their famous short rib fried rice!!!! Of course we had to try the fried rice. We also got shrimp pad kee mow (drunken noodles). Their spice level goes from 1-5 with 5 being THE MOST SPICE. Our waiter told us all their dishes start with a spice level 3....from there you can adjust your spice level to your liking. Thank goodness we didn't go with a spice level 4 because a 3 was still pretty kickin!!!!! Both our entrees were freakin delicious....everything was so flavorful, pippin hot and the portions were plentiful! Next day's leftovers were just as good. We have always come at night when it's super busy (tourists, etc.) so lunch was certainly a nice change up. We were quickly sat and served. I had to pay extra to "upgrade" to ribeye, and then they chopped up the ribeye up so small it was more akin to a garnish/seasoning than anything, not much of an upgrade other than the price. Nice try, but chopping something up into little pieces and spreading it all around doesn't hide the fact that there just isn't that much of it to begin with. The sauce was so heavy-handed too. They were stingy AF with the rice noodles, so everything was drowning in sauce, which just overpowered everything. These are supposed to be drunken noodles, not drowned noodles. These noodles were hung over. My sister's pad thai was equally disappointing, again stingy with the rice noodles and heavy-handed with the sauce. The dish was a gloopy mess. It was so alarmingly sour that it made my eyes pucker. There was no tofu or bean sprouts and just a smidgen of egg. She literally had to inspect the dish for egg in the same way I had to inspect mine for ribeye. I would never go back here. I think the only reason this place gets good reviews is because most if not all the diners are drunk. My sister and I don't drink by choice, but we are big foodies however. read more

Le Thai has been one of my favorite spots to eat for 6 years now, love getting to go there and see some familiar faces of employees who have been working there the entire time I've been going including Ashley, Pedro and Jordan. Jordan was our server this time and he is always on top of of with timeliness and making sure our food comes piping hot, flavorful and perfect. Waterfall Beef with waterfall sauce and sticky rice is one of my all time favorite things EVER and I'm absolutely obsessed with the Awesome Noodles with Short Rib, I always order it at a spice level of 3 out of 5 and it's just perfect. We were first introduced to the other location in Charleston, we fell in love with it. Every time we would come to Las Vegas we would always stop by. We recently found out. Of the Fremont location which was closer to us since we stayed in Fremont street. Sucks yesterday we had an awful experience, Destiny (girl with a bunch of piercings) told my sister she was too drunk to order a drink like was my sister stumbling? Slurring words how? We are in Vegas for Gods sake but drunk? It was like 6:00 pm, my sister was mostly tired from the 4hr trip to get to Vegas from L.A. plus long work shifts! So we asked her why so we like ok we will go outside, why was there so many other men , drunk, eyes red, able to order drinks? Oh i think i know why, she stereotype US for being hispanic or was it because i had a Mexico jersey. Spoke to the manager and according to her is protocol. After playing all day at the container park with the kiddos and Grandma, who just recently flew in from CO (and happens to have strict gluten and dairy allergies) we landed on Le Thai for dinner. It's maybe a 40 seat (including patio) cozy joint just a stones throw from the Fremont street experience. Live plants are draped from the ceiling and a large, colorful mural on the wall makes for a super artsy feel. Definitely a cool place. The service was ehh, not terrible but not great. We had to ask for plates, ask for chop sticks, and ask for serving-ware and honestly the support staff (including another server in a different section) was much more friendly and eager to help than the server we had. The server wasn't rude but I wouldn't exactly describe her as friendly or warm either... she did however seem pretty educated on the menu and was able to steer us in proper direction to accustom gluten and dairy allergens for the mother in law which we definitely appreciated. Our reservation was for 4:30. Unbeknownst to us also happened to be in the heat of happy hour, which runs from 3-6 M-F I believe. We started with the Chicken Satay, shaking beef, and the honey garlic wings. - Chicken satay was average, not bad but pretty bland 3/5. - Shaking beef was really good, very flavorful and comes with yummy al dente sticky rice + waterfall sauce... which honestly, the waterfall sauce was the star of the show. EXTREMELY DELICIOUS 5/5. - The wings were decent, nothing to write home about in flavor but fried nice and crisp. We then, per usual, ordered a few dishes and shared things family style. Tri-color curry, papaya salad, and chicken pad Thai. - The curry was WEAK, so bland and after reading prior reviews seems to be the case with other diners as well. Maybe it's just me but when I order a curry that's raved about, I'm expecting bold, smash mouth flavors. It was recommended as one of their most popular dishes but do yourself a favor and order something else. 2/5 - Papaya salad was average. Texture was proper but it lacked acidity and depth. 3/5 - Chicken pad Thai was okay, definitely a different take on a classic. Much more wet than an authentic Thai noodle dish. Flavor was good, not great. Reminded me of pad Thai from noodles and Co tbh. 3/5 Look, all in all- I hate to pick this place apart but with such a premium location I feel they're leaving a lot to be desired and missing out on so much potential. Flavor wise their approach has veered away from authenticity and is def much more westernized. I was excited to try the food here, as I've been on the hunt for a go-to Thai spot in the Las Vegas area. The food here looked great online, but was it? I couldn't tell you and I'll likely never find out. I called at 3:52pm hoping to place an order for pickup. A female employee answers. I politely inquire if I could place a to- go order. With utter DISDAIN and annoyance - like, the kind a parent in the 90's would've had if I called their land line at 2:00am looking for my friend, she hissed at me: "Umm, we don't open until 4. You're going to have to call back then. " I was a bit taken aback, not only by the delivery and tone of her message, but by her complete disregard for offering any semblance of customer service or even just, well, decency (let alone pleasantries). I begin to ask her a question. Click. She hung up on me. Mid sentence. So I wait out the 5 minutes until 4:00pm to call back with my order, that I wasn't entirely sure that I wanted to go through with placing. Mav (or Mad, not sure which) answers the phone again. I told her that I called a few minutes ago trying to place an order and that she hung up on me in mid sentence, which I didn't appreciate. I also very gently suggested that a better alternative could have been to jot down my order and just put it in at 4:00pm. No response. Instead, I hear several voices talking in the distance. I guess, Mav (or Mad) thought it was a good idea to place the phone down on the counter while I was, AGAIN, in mid sentence. But this time, instead of hanging up on me, she decided to discuss me with her co-workers, while I was on the line. In which she proceeded to lie and say I was yelling and completely twisted what happened the first time. As they are all discussing it, someone chimes in and says, "just pick up the phone and say I cannot talk you right now, especially if you're yelling at me. " At this point, it's just truly comical. After a few minutes of this, a 'shift lead' gets on the line, and, to her credit was empathetic, professional and tried to course correct, but in my mind, I just felt weird about ordering from this establishment at this point! I hate leaving bad reviews. In fact, if you look at my review history, I don't leave them! I love supporting small businesses and am a business owner myself. It also is a priority to me to treat people with kindness and respect. I'm leaving this review, because I actually care. I hope the owner (and/or manager) sees how their employees are "taking care of" their guests and ultimately, losing them business. I did end up finding a Thai place to order from after this episode. Waterfall beef with sticky rice is the most tasty, tender, and delicious beef I have ever had. Crispy spring rolls are amazing with great dipping sweet sour plum sauce. We came in on a Thursday night, they were already super busy so we had to sit at the bar, but the service was still great, our server which was the bartender was very friendly and attentive even though she was swamped with orders. The pork jerky is very unique it comes with a bucket of sticky rice on the side, Thai jerky is usually quite salty so you'll definitely need it. Short rib fried rice apparently is one of their signature, I like that they are not cheap with the meat and the portion is decent for the price, my favorite was the ga pow, it's so good I think it's to the addicting level, I just kept eating it even though I was kind of full, overall this restaurant is great and there's not that many Asian restaurants downtown so definitely stop by here if you want some good Thai food downtown read more

I came here solo in a Thursday afternoon because Thai food sounded amazing and I was lodging nearby for a work trip. You never know what the experience will be like as a lady when you take yourself on a dinner date solo when out of town. I am so happy to report that I had a wonderful experience. I was offered to sit at the bar, I did and it was a wonderful decision. The bartenders took great care of me and the atmosphere was warm and authentic. I ordered the Thai iced tea because it was on a $3 happy hour special, it was good. I ordered the Pad kee mao as my entree with chicken. The protein come ground, and the dish was delicious. They do a good spice range here, i was asked if i wanted spice level 0-5, the server said if i like spicy i get a 3. Thats what i did and it was delicious. by the time i ate 40% of my entree i was stuffed! So the name is French for "the tie" or something, right? Le Thai is a well-established restaurant that has long anchored the bar and restaurant-laden part of Fremont Street east of the pedestrian and sidewalk entertainment-laden thoroughfare that is the icon if not the heart of Downtown Las Vegas. I'd never formally been invited to try this place out, and with all of the mixed reviews from Yelp friends, I wasn't actually looking forward to doing so anytime soon. That changed when I had an opportunity to enjoy dinner with a cousin-in-law visiting from the other side of the country and some friends of his wife (i.e. my cousin). I believe it was the first time for all of us, and we were able to take on a sizable part of the menu by sharing our orders family-style. I should note before dissecting the food that yes, we did have to wait on a Friday night; thankfully, the Yelp-linked waitlist feature let me throw in my name for our party of 4, and when my group checked in ahead of me, it did expedite our wait partially; we still had to wait 20+ additional minutes. However, we weren't in a hurry, and we got seated and served in a reasonable amount of time. Also, I enjoyed the opportunity (though not the price) to order a draft beer thru a window while waiting outside. This allowed me to try something which I hadn't before: the Ballast Point Sour Wench ($7.50 for about 12 oz). It's a berry-ful, tart treat which helped to loosen my tongue and my palate up before starting dinner. I wish that the draft beer menu was a bit more visible or comprehended by the employee, but it is what it is. Alright, food time. Somehow, the progression started out awesome and maybe tapered down to great, then good, then maybe not worth ordering. Thai Pork Belly Bacon ($8): a new item or a special, and boy was it special. Perfectly melting fatty interior, crispy exterior, and a nice dipping sauce with fish sauce and some other ingredients. Larb Salad ($10) w/ chicken, spicy level 1 (mild): came out at the same time as the pork belly, and tasted as good as the pork belly or even better. Lime juice was well-balanced, not overpowering. Lettuce wrap was fresh. I didn't even mind that it was ground chicken rather than ground pork. The amount of heat was appropriate or even a bit light for my palate. Spicy Eggplant ($13) w/ shrimp (+$2), spicy level 3 (hot): my favorite of the entrees somehow. I really doubt that they actually added the indicated level of spice because I generally tolerated it. If the lighting were better in here, the colors would really pop in all of the eggplant and peppers and such. I'll just have to settle for really delicious and properly cooked. I was actually thinking of taking home leftovers until my cousin-in-law started abducting the eggplant at meal's end.. 3 Color Curry ($12) w/ pork, spicy level 0 (none): yeah, kinda looks like one color. I think they mixed up the orders and actually gave this the spicy level 3. It was kinda rough at times. Still, the curry sauce is quite delicious, and it's awesome atop at the complimentary white rice. Plenty of veggies in this dish too. Massaman Curry ($12) w/ beef, spicy level 0 (none): like a yellow, but with various additional spices and flavors. Beef was nice. Wasn't as impressed here for some reason as I was with the 3 Color Curry, and I really wish that the carrots weren't sliced into a puck-like shape; they were very difficult to scoop out of the bowl toward the end. Pad See Ewe ($13) w/ chicken, spicy level 1 (mild): this is the dish which I'd definitely pass on next time. My cousin-in-law mentioned a sweetness, which I did observe. However, my more pressing observation was that the flavor was somehow drastically different than similar dishes served around town to the extent that I'm certain that they omitted a standard sauce in the cooking process. Also, the portion of Chinese broccoli within the dish was too small. The music and atmosphere was not loud enough to distract from casual dinner conversation. I remember reading something about a lack of restrooms, but that's clearly outdated because there are two restrooms in the back of the main indoor seating area (which is right about where we ended up). The bar also seems to seat diners, but the street-side front patio doesn't. Overall, Le Thai exceeded my expectations. It is not nearly "the best" but it has plenty of highlights. While I would balk at the prices compared to cheaper and arguably better Thai restaurants around town, I loved multiple dishes here. So while we were downtown gambling at el Cortez we got hungry and decided Thai would be quick and easy. It wasn't quick I think we waited around 35 min BUT it was delicious. Missing the downtown location of Le Thai since they've been under construction. Last time we finally tried something besides the short rib fried rice, which is what we always crave. Over the years Pedro has provided excellent service and the best drinks. He recommended the Thai Fried Chicken. It was so delicious!! They have another location but we prefer the atmosphere downtown.
