Beluga caught my attention on Instagram, and after seeing photos of their desserts, I knew I wanted to visit. We came with the family during the first half of the day and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant specializes in Uzbek and Russian cuisine and is located in a beautiful spot by the lake. There is plenty of parking, and one of the highlights is the outdoor terrace overlooking the water. The view is peaceful and makes for a very relaxing meal. I also loved the entrance design. There's a large decorative mirror surrounded by flowers, and the restaurant's logo is reflected in it. It's a thoughtful detail that immediately creates a welcoming atmosphere and makes a great photo spot. The restaurant was clean, the staff was polite, and service was fast. Our food arrived surprisingly quickly. I ordered a cappuccino, two khachapuri, and accidentally ordered Kharcho soup when I actually meant to order Solyanka. Thankfully, the Kharcho turned out to be delicious, so no regrets! My husband ordered a steak, while the kids were happy with chicken nuggets and fries from the kids' menu. For dessert, I finally got to try the Pavlova that I had seen on their Instagram page, and it did not disappoint. I've also heard that they host live entertainment and performances on weekends, which makes me want to come back and experience the restaurant in the evening. Came here on a Saturday night with a group. We were served family style- lots of appetizers came out. Drinks came fairly quickly. To be honest- most of the appetizers were salty. Although interesting for a Russian menu- which I have not had in years. The ambiance is super luxurious, like a nightclub. There is a long bar area with multiple colored lights. Our table for 6 had chairs & a couch with pillows. Like a Lounge. On the right side of the bar was a DJ spinning music. There is an outdoor patio on the lake as well. I did get up & dance for a bit- but there wasn't much room for the dance floor. I would consider going back for lunch when it's quiet & order off their menu. I had started a review months ago when I stopped in for a drink. It was a good time even though I was the only one at their classy bar at the time, and I felt under dressed too. But I like the original menu, so made a note to have dinner there soon. Cut to this past week and we took out my aunt and mother-in-law for the aunts birthday. They like classy places with international menus so Beluga was perfect. It was a great night. The waitress recommended the beef stroganoff and it was a great call. The appetizers, spicy carrots and potato salad, were excellent. We got desserts as well. The Strudel was really good. At one point they asked us to write wishes on spot dishes and after we all did a dance in a circle they were thrown on the ground. It was the best spot I ate this year so far. We had been to Beluga House for drinks one afternoon. The decoration and great service made us make a not to come back for dinner. Last week, my aunt was celebrating her birthday, so we decided this was the perfect time to do it. Got there on Friday, with a reservation, and the table was ready immediately. Same beautiful decorations and friendly service. Not only that, but they also had live music and even invited us to dance up front with all the guests. This was so much fun, and there was not a person that wasn't smiling and having a great time. Even the ones who didn't get up and dance. This night they had a lot of people celebrating, 3 birthdays, 2 anniversaries, plus the regular dinner tables. They were busy but you could see them hustling to get to each table and not have anyone waiting long, and they all did so in such a friendly and attentive manner that it just added to the great experience we had. We started with some appetizers and honestly can't pick one. All were incredibly delicious, so good luck deciding. As my entrée I got the Chilean sea bass, and it was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The ribeye was so tender and cooked to the exact temperature that my aunt ordered. And the recommended Beef Stroganoff was a hit. I had asked for them to add a candle or something for the birthday, but they went beyond that. For each celebration the staff came out with (whatever dessert you ordered) sparklers, a lighted marquee with the person's name and celebrated with each one. Again, all this with incredibly genuine attitude and still not neglecting any table. At no point we were rushed to release the table, we were allowed to enjoy all our food, drinks and dessert at our own pace, and they even took cate of the leftovers, keeping them until we were ready to leave and not taking space on the table. Returned for a dinner on a Saturday night, which is very different than a weeknight dinner. There is a DJ with music and if people are so inclined, there is dancing. I was there with a group of people and we definitely danced so it was a very fun night. The service is not great. They don't have enough wait staff and service is super slow. Trying to get drinks is an ordeal. They seemed surprised that we wanted to order more food after the appetizers. Just pretty disorganized. The food itself was good. We had a lot of appetizers that we shared tuna tartare was very good. Potatoes and mushrooms were really delicious. We had what they called dumplings, but really they were more like samosas very heavy dough and filled with either pumpkin or lamb meat but they were good we had a salad. We also had a cold salad of pickled vegetables. We also had a cold order of smoked fish, which was not bad. We had rice pilaf, which was very good for an entrée. I had the beef stroganoff on mashed potatoes, which was fine. Still not amazing. Still lacked spice and also really needed to be hotter, but it was OK. My companion had the duck which he enjoyed very much overall, I would say this is a fun restaurant, especially on a Saturday night when they have music and dancing the food is reasonably good. We had a very good lunch at this eastern European restaurant. I'd seen on line that they had a lunch menu. When we were seated and I asked about it, they said they no longer had one. The regular (and only) menu is large and written in Russian (I had to ask what language it was) with English "subtitles". It was explained to me that most folks from Uzbekistan speak Russian due to it being part of the Soviet Union in the past. Some of the dishes were familiar and some I had no idea what they were. Google to the rescue. We'd previously been to this location a number of years ago when it was another restaurant. So we were familiar with the parking. The restaurant has both inside and outside seating. It's situated on the lake and there are gorgeous views from the patio. Although we chose to sit inside in the air conditioning, we were by a window and had a lovely view. We started with an order of Uzbek bread. It was served hot from the oven. The bread had white and black sesame seeds on the outside. The round loaf was delicious. It's $5 for an order and worth it. For our entrees, my husband had their salmon kebab. It was served on a skewer with a ketchup based sauce. There were a few potatoes on the plate. It was a bit dry as it was cooked through, but he still liked it. I had an absolutely delicious Cornish hen dish. The chicken tabaka is a traditional dish where the poultry is butterflied and pan fried in butter or oil or a combo. It's similar to a bricked (pressed) chicken. They say that the smaller the chicken the better it is. This was four pieces of hen -- 2 breasts and 2 leg quarters -- perfectly cooked with a crispy outer skin. I'm not sure what the spices were on it -- I think garlic and paprika plus others -- but it was wonderful. There were also some potato wedges served on the side. I ate half and took half of the meal home. Prices are not inexpensive so for lunch, it was a bit pricey. I'd probably say come for dinner for the same money. The outside dining was lakeside and beautifully decorated Our server Peter was knowledgeable about the food and explained each dish that we were thinking of ordering. I very rarely rave about how delicious the food is but I will give this a 5 out of 5 ! The pierogies were filled with mushrooms in a mushroom sauce The soup was hearty and the spices amazing I had the Chilean sea bass which I can only eat if it's really cooked well done. Food was good just service slow - but authentic Russian food. Very nice ambiance and decor used.

We were regulars at Beluga and have been going since they opened. However, the last few (3-4) times we went, the service was simply horrendous. We were there for a celebration this past weekend. Upon arrival, our reserved table was not cleaned and we waited 20 minutes in an almost empty restaurant for it to be wiped down. We ordered appetizers and mains at the same time asking for about a half hour break in between courses. The apps came, and within the next hour the busboy kept coming back to our table with someone else's food. We asked for bottled water multiple times and were only provided with o e extra bottle once. Once the apps were finished, we waited about an extra hour and a half for the mains. One dish was brought out but nothing else. After about another 20 minutes, while the dish that was brought out first was getting cold, I had to go to the hostess and inquire about the rest. About fifteen minutes later, the rest of the mains came except they forgot about utensils, so we had to wait for those as well. No manager was on site and although there were plenty of wait staff, it didn't seem anyone was actually serving. The bill was $460 for five people and they managed to add someone else's drink to our bill, which we then had to dispute. All in all, a very disappointing experience. The manager that was there before is gone and now there's either no manager at all to direct the servers or they were not present at the time. Unfortunately we have an event coming up in a few weeks which we booked Beluga for so hoping they get their business together by then. We wanted to do something different for my birthday! So.. Beluga House. We took a chance and it paid off! The restaurant is clean and very nice inside not to mention the pretty view. The food was phenomenal. There were three of us... one being a pro chef. He thoughouly enjoyed the lamb dumpling (can remember the name) and my lamb and shrimp skewers were perfect. This is the only restaurant I will drive out west for and it's worth it as the food and service are consistently good and besides with Boca's over abundance of Italian and Sushi restaurants it's nice to try a restaurant that's different. It's not like there's a Russian restaurant in every strip mall. The youthful staff is really friendly and are quick to explain any menu item that might not seem familiar. I have gone through most of the menu and just about every item has been excellent but there are some standouts; The crepes are surprisingly good and have the perfect smooth texture. Pumpkin Manti (dumplings) are always excellent and these are addictive. Khachapuri which is a Georgian pizza (sans sauce) is really good and makes for a perfect appetizer. The potatoes, which come as a side for many items or can be ordered as an appetizer are ridiculously good and I don't know what they fry them in but they have the perfect crisp. Lamb Chops are also a good a good choice but really you can't go wrong with anything at Beluga. Desserts are made in house and vary but the chocolate dessert is unique and great. read more

I really want to like this place but it continues to disappoint. I've brought several people on multiple occasions. First few times I chalked it up to being a new place and growing pains. At this point it is not new, it is just bad. Service is quite bad, extremely slow, & clueless, most things arrived incorrectly some things I didn't order arrived as well. They aren't necessarily cold or rude just absent, slow, customer service is not the focus. The food just feels like american interpretations with american ingredients and lacks the flavor, quality presentation of authentic Eastern European food. Drinks are pretty disappointing as well. Horseradish vodka one of my favorite things tasted abhorrent perhaps stale i don't know which was a big bummer I would really love to see these things improve as I really want to like this place but it's just so glaringly consistently bad that I can't. There is nothing remotely similar anywhere nearby so hopefully that keeps them open & hopefully they work though these many issues because it has much unreached potential. Was extremely excited to try this place out, but upon entering we weren't greeted by anyone and waited a good amount of time. Eventually a young hostess came by and was nice and advised we may sit outside. Past by a few servers and not ackwboledged by any, which is fine. We ended up finding a table inside since it was a bit chilly. Not one person came to our table to at least greet us. Vibes felt completely awkward and for some reason I felt like I wasn't welcomed there I can't explain why. Waited a few more minutes and servers just kept walking past us and it genuinely upset me a little since I felt like I was intentionally being ignored. My grandparents and I have came to this restaurant multiple times and we used to love it so much. The food is great but the service has gone down hill terribly, it seems like the owner has gotten very cheap on hiring more staff. It seems they have a hire turnover rate now and disappointed that this restaurant is going down hill so fast. This a new Eastern European restaurant located off of SW 18th street. I'm so glad we found this spot! There is plenty of parking in the plaza. We went around 6pm on Saturday night. This place overlooks the water and has an elegant Eastern European vibe on the inside with velvet colored chairs and beautiful chandeliers. It looks like they have a special room for special parties. We sat at the bar and our bartender, Elana, served us. She was so nice and attentive. We ordered drinks and for a light dinner had the Cheburek and the pilaf with lamb. The cheburek was filled with lamb and onion it was absolutely delicious! It came with an acidic sauce that complemented it well. The dough was very light and didn't feel greasy at all. We thought this would be similar to a traditional Burek but it was very unique. The lamb pilaf dish was packed with flavor. This was a winner dish. I would go back specifically for this. The lamb was pull apart tender. The flavor of the rice was amazinggg. I loved every bite! We will definitely go back. Pro tip: ask for the hot sauce, it is so good! read more

As many have said, food is good but not memorable. While a nice change from the preponderance of average Italian restaurants in South Florida. Beluga comes up short in many important area. Nan bread looks better than it tastes. Borscht lacks the intense beet flavor but is not bad. Appetizers are the best bet (we tried the Korean carrots). Entrees are a mixed bag. Salmon kebobs were bland. The grilled lamb chops were quite good. Serving sizes are average to good. For dessert we tried the honey cake which while okay had a "too long in the refrigerator taste." Service was fine at the start but once a large reserved party showed up, we were yesterday's news. We had to beg them to bring food to our table which they took from other tables and served cold. they are in violation of so many occupational codes and the owner is hiding behind the waiters refusing to speak to us. It's in a location where another restaurant was (Ollies) same pretty much decor, same layout, beautiful outdoor patio, where there's a water fountain indoors is nice. The food is interesting. We had the salmon LIGURIAN. It was good. I had a problem I said when I ordered it is it a center cut? The server said yes when I came out it wasn't I sent it back. He brought it back about 20 minutes later saying that they had a defrost it and then cook it which wasn't, the right thing to say the food was OK the waiter was very nice DIMA he was accommodating and he was gave good and proper service management didn't come out and apologize for me having to sit there and wait for my food to come out ( everyone else was finished eating by the time mine came out ) that they were sorry that that happened which isn't good for a new restaurant !!
