Hidden Gem. So grateful to be able to get in on a Friday night during season. The restaurant is very clean - even the lights (which can be dusty sometimes on the best of places). The service was fantastic. Wine and bread refilled before we asked. It took some convincing for me to get here because according to my husband French food (more than any other food) can be horrifying if it's not cooked right. Mussel appetizer was super good. Wine chilled perfectly. Bread and butter crispy and soft in all the right places. So is the foie gras - with fig and corn bread BUT the WINNER here is the duck. The best we ever had. This French restaurant deserves five stars for their food and service. The ambiance is nothing to write home about, though. It's a small restaurant in a nondescript strip of stores along the east side of Federal Highway. Unless you were specifically looking for the address, you would pass it by. Until you parked and saw the two set tables with huge bottles of champagne on top of them outside the door that is. And even once you were inside, there isn't much to draw your attention. All that being said, ignore all this and come for the food -- it's delicious. The menu is traditional French. They had a couple special entrees the night we were there, in addition. Our waiter was from Paris. He was charming. I got to practice some of my school French. We both started with Caesar salads with anchovies. The dressing is made from scratch. It was delicious. The bread basket was thin slices of warm French baguette. Along with the soft butter, it was addictive. My husband chose one of the nightly specials -- calves liver with onions and mashed potatoes. The onions were sautéed and served on top of perfectly cooked liver that was crisp on the outside and tender inside. The mashed potatoes were prettily served in decorative mounds. Liver is not my favorite, so I didn't try it, but he said it was very good. The other nightly special was dover sole, btw. I opted for their half crispy duck. A large serving, cooked to my preferred temperature, the skin crispy on the outside. The meat was rich and full of flavor. I had them bring the sauce on the side -- the cherry sauce (Bigarde) was very good and not too sweet. I happily dipped the duck pieces in it. Sides included creamy gratin potatoes and thinly sliced vegetables. I could only eat a portion so I wound up taking the rest home. They have most items you would recognize as French -- onion soup, fois gras terrine, coq au vin, escargots, mussels, etc. Other items are cooked in a French manner or style. We didn't have dessert -- but you probably wouldn't go wrong with their creme brûlée. One of the items I considered -- along with their Apple tart. Then again, their evening special of a strawberry Napoleon sounded intriguing... It was a lovely meal to celebrate a special occasion. read more

This was our first time trying this new French restaurant. We were greeted warmly by the hostess to open the door and welcomed us into the restaurant. They've been in business for a very long time in France and really take great care in preparing delicious and expressive cuisine. The atmosphere is simple, but elegant at the same time. We ordered a chicken dish and a lamb dish. The lamb was simply cooked but a good flavor. Chicken was a little too pungent, but still very pleasant. Waiters were friendly service was great. No wait. The only recommendation I would make is that they update the prices in their website to match the prices on the menu there was a proximately a $10 difference in the cost for each entrée ordered. My Fiance and I were here on Friday for our 1 year anniversary. I had the carott soup and salad, and he had the lamb entree. It was a very nice experience. The staff was wonderful. We even had a little banter with the tables next to us. For dessert, I had the peache tart and a coffee. He had the chocolate cream puffs. Overall, we had a superb time. Oh, and the bread is divine. We had 3 baskets! Omg so yummy! Anyway. Staff, service, ambiance. 10 out of 10. I just wish they had more vegetarian options. Service was professional, cuisine equally exquisite. We enjoyed appetizers: vegetable veloute (soup of the day) w/a hint of cream for silkiness, salads (caesar & mixed greens) fresh & crisp. Mains: Filet w/pepper sauce & fork tender, 1/2 rack of lamb (cut into chops) robust & not gamey, dover sole meuniere, mild & sweet (de-boned tableside). All dishes were executed perfectly & presented w/vegetables & smooth pomme puree or hearty potatoes au gratin. We topped off the evening with Grandma's apple tart, both pretty & delicious. First let me say that the food was very good. That being said the prices were extreme for a restaurant in a strip mall. Secondly the personality of the server was obnoxious. He was at times rude and thought the world of himself. The dinner while excellent the waits between courses was extreme. The wine list was small and the prices for mediocre wine was out of bounds. If I want food that was just as good with excellent service and prices for the same dishes more same I would go to the best French restaurant in Boca. Finally that little piece of paper with the so called special wine at 25 dollars a glass was so off the wall. Chateau Neuf di Pap which I have in my wine fridge cost maybe 40 a bottle. read more

I've been coming here for a long time. The service and food are excellent. They treat everyone special. The restaurant does not have extreme ambiance. However what it lacks in ambiance it overly makes up for in quality and deliciousness. The pricing is very reasonable for a true French restaurant. This time I had the Caesar Salad. It had the Perfect amount of dressing. The flavor was just right and of course none of the romaine was brown or old like I get in some restaurants. My gf had the escargot. She loved it. We split the rack of lamb and it was like butter. I really liked it. They charge a $5 sharing charge and they split it up for you. I think that's a great value. The place was very busy and the people all seemed to be enjoying their food choices. The wine was we had was house Cabernet. Very smooth. I think you will definitely enjoy Traditions. Next I had the French Onion Soup. The best I have ever had!! It was incredible. The flavors the ratio of onions, broth bread and cheese was perfect. Next I had the special of the evening Grouper over sautéed spinach topped with shitake mushrooms with a champagne sauce served on the side. The fish was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms really elevated the dish, the spinach was so flavorful and the sauce was rich and smooth. I ended with a dessert I wish I took a picture of, I t wax a raspberry napoleon. Like everything at this restaurant you could tell it was made with love and care. Fresh raspberries and vanilla cream the filo dough was light and flaky. I highly recommend this restaurant! The owners both came to the table to thank us. The husband is the chef. Feels good to support local business. Part of four, 7:30 reservation on a Saturday night. We were obviously a second seating as the tables were being reset. We had a 5 minute wait to be seated. Wait staff a bit overwhelmed. It took about 15 min after being seated before anyone took our drink orders. The good news is that everything was freshly prepared with done with care. The mussel appetizer was excellent. As good as I've ever had. My wife did not like her coq au vent. My lobster fettuccine was okay but not better than I've had in lower-end red sauce Italian restaurants. Nevertheless, the meal overall was fine. Caveat: I am slightly hearing impaired and use hearing aids. High ambient noise is a real problem for individuals such as myself. This is a small restaurant and tables are fairly close to one another. We were initially offered a table in the back corner, near two large parties and it was immediately clear that conversation would be a problem for us. Fortunately there was still a free table for four near the bar. and we asked to be moved there. A wise decision. Service and food deserve 4 stars. Minus 1 for the noise. When making reservations I'd ask for the table near the bar or by the front window. read more

Went for dinner on a Friday night. Don't let the location of being in a strip mall fool you- this place is fantastic! It's not huge, but the inside has the feeling of a quaint neighborhood eatery. The service is excellent, with five stars out of five. For reference, I used to stewardess aboard luxury yachts- they know their stuff! The food was also fabulous- it tasted like someone cared about it while they were making it. Not just thrown together and plopped on your plate. Had the foie gras, halibut special, and duck. Top notch food, good service. Enjoyed our interaction with the couple that own the place. The special last night was Dove Sole. Our two guests both ordered it and let me taste it and the sauce. The food was all prepared to our liking and the service was seamless the owner came out and visited table and then sat at the piano and played a beautiful medley of music. It was a perfect night out! The food is traditional French with a touch of Alsace northeast France with German influences. Everything the chef has to offer is delicious. I have been coming here for quiet some time now and never have I been disappointed. I highly recommend all the main dishes especially the duck with gratin dauphinois. The desserts are spectacular! His raspberry Napoleon is spectacular but whatever you do ask for it in advanced because he sells out quick. At the end of the night the chef comes out and plays piano.
