Started coming here after my friend recommended Lindsay! I'm just a college girl so this was at first very intimidating to me but Lindsay was very kind and made me feel less worrisome . The ambiance is very cute and pink. Everything is very clean and sanitary . The bathroom has everything you would need prior to your appointment . O-M-G! When people say Sarah is really good she is REALLY GOOD. She was able to distract me from the pain, it's been a long time since I've gotten a Brazilian wax and she did it super fast! She double checked to make sure she got all the spots cleared. Super nice and comforting too. My new go to waxing spot! What drew me to Le Wax boutique was the $40 first time deal-such a steal!! It was super easy to book an appointment online. Street parking can be a little difficult certain days, they do have one spot in the parking lot right next door but can be taken. The front room is super cute and welcoming. I would not recommend this place. With years in business they have allowed themselves to treat customers as they wish. One time the waxing lady was smelling like booze, got me really uncomfortable and scary. Brought this up to the owner, she made me even more comfortable about the whole situation and never addressed issue in a professional manner. Came in for my second appointment following an almost-four week waiting period. I was stoked because Sara was my esthetician this time! (She does not take in new clients and, at this point, I wasn't considered a "new client" anymore, hehe). With this kind of line of work, the estheticians have to be personable - I mean, they're looking at vags afterall, lol. Sara is 100% that and so much more! My second visit was a little different only because Sara arguably did a cleaner job compared to last time. However, that came with a slightly painful price! She had to tweeze some of the hairs, which was just a taaaaad bit painful. Everything was worth it because it literally took about 10-15 minutes and I'm currently smooth as a baby's bum... Really cute salon appearance overall. Staff was super friendly from the moment I walked in, offered me water, etc. my esthetician was extremely sweet explained what she was going to do. I give only 4 stars though my because the waxing itself was just okay. For my brows, It was one strip on the top, one on the bottom and she was done. I'm used to my brow stylist actually shaping and going in and plucking the strays, looking to see what was missed and touching up meticulously, none of which was done. I rarely take the time to write a review - let alone an unsavory one but I was so disappointed in the eyebrow wax I deemed this important enough. I am due to have a baby next week so I wanted to get a little pampering before my time is dictated by feedings/naps/etc. I booked an eyebrow wax with whom I believe was Sarah. After laying down on the table - she proceeded to take scissors to my brows and trimmed them quite short. I personally wasn't able to even look in a mirror before beginning so I could show her how I prefer she shape and wax them. Within 15 minutes the appointment was over and she handed me a mirror - I nearly started crying my eyebrows were so short from the trimmings and the wax paired poorly with the shortened hairs. While I know that a notably bad eyebrow wax is a first world problem - I am beyond saddened that all my hard work to grow out my eyebrows was taken away by someone who didn't want to take the time to ask the client what they wanted. And while this esthetician didn't apologize - she did take ~$5 off the total cost when I expressed my frustration. That said, I would have gladly paid more for a better experience overall. ***Updated*** After the business owner responded by telling me I am "hormonal due to pregnancy" I felt it was worth editing the review. This owner is as unprofessional as can possibly be and clearly doesn't know that you don't insult your customers. She is not a good person. read more

First timer at this location, but I've been getting Brazilian waxes for years. My esthetician was Amber and she was a lot more rough than what I'm used to. I appreciated that she completed the wax quickly, but the process was more painful than usual, even when cleaning up my pelvic area, it felt like she was digging into my body with her fingers and it was very unpleasant. She didn't notice the note I wrote about using hard wax in the online appt system and used soft wax at the start of my session, but quickly changed over to the hard wax. She was apologetic after I informed her she was a bit rough, had great customer service, and was very personable. However, if I return here, I'd probably request a different esthetician. read more

I found Le Wax Boutique on yelp and I am so glad I did. I called at about noon on a Saturday and Anita was the woman who helped me. She was able to get me in at 1:45 pm for an underarm and brazillian. Le Wax is located in North Park and as a San Diego native, we all know how hard it is to find parking. Luckily, I was able to find street parking right outside. From the outside, the boutique is sort of hidden but I was able to see the name on the window which was helpful. As I walked in, Anita greeted me right away and got me into the room as soon as I was ready. Both waxes went smooth and quick. I honestly spent maybe a total of 10 mins or less for both services. After completion, Anita gave me a "wax removing lotion" which was AWESOME and helped so much with taking off the wax residue. (Other places that I have been to have never given me this.) I've been a customer here for QUITE a few years. I've mostly seen Sarah, the owner. I scheduled a wax about a couple hours ahead of time, same day, while I was in town. Due to public transportation, I called to let her know I would be ten minutes late. Sarah said she could not see me, and to just reschedule. I rescheduled for the next morning IMMEDIATELY. And Sarah also, immediately canceled my new appointment. She's been trying to charge me for being a "no show" and stole $50 from me. After years of being a loyal client, this is very disappointing. One can only hope your lips don't feel like they ripped off with the wax strips. Luckily, this place left me with a good impression and lips intact.
