The boba texture was not bad. It was chewy, which I liked, but didn't have any flavor. It wasn't sweet, it just felt like I was chewing on tasteless boba. OK whatever. Now, the actual drink. I saw a lot of other Yelpers say their drink was "too sweet" but I had the opposite experience. It tasted VERY WATERED DOWN! I ordered my drink regular sweet but it virtually had no flavor. I even had my friend try it, and she had to take three sips because she was confused if she was actually drinking anything. Brown sugar milk? More like milk water. Yuck. I actually really liked this place! I got the purple yam with almond milk and my fiance for the creme brulee cookies and cream. I did ask the worker there if the purple yam was a sweet drink and she said you can get 0% and the drink would still be pretty sweet because of the purple yams. So I got 0% and she was right! Upon walking in, we were immediately notified by an employee that it would take about 10 minutes for another batch of boba to cook. With only 2 employees & a bunch of orders coming in, they did seem stress & overworked so we didn't mind at all. We ended up getting the Matcha Gotcha & Thai tea. The matcha gotcha was a very similar concept to OMOMO's matcha with that dose of creme brûlée but the quality of their matcha powder doesn't exactly compare, it tasted more of a clumpy, lower grade. It was good, but not "I'll go out of my way for this" great. Contrary to everyone's opinion though, I thought they nailed a satisfying level of sweetness. As for the Thai tea, that's where the sweetness problem came into play. It tasted as if it was 90% sugar & 10% Thai tea, so that was more nauseating than enjoyable. The boba though? Obviously fresh, but it was just perfectly cooked. There's way better boba shops out there that I can confidently say is worth my $5.50, but for a quick pick me up, it was decent enough (the matcha, at least) in my book. From my point of view, my drink was alright. I'd got half the sweet for the Bee's knees. Mine was a little bit on the sweeter side than I want, but the boba was chewy. However, my friend ordered the milk tea and forgot to ask for less sweet. That drink had waaaaay too much sugar. You would have to dilute that with another large cup of milk. There really is no need to have that much sugar in the drinks. It'll be like drinking to get diabetes. If you come here, you should at least request 1/2 sweet or 1/4 sweet. I ended up at Leaf N Cream because OMOMO Tea Shoppe was temporarily closed, the reviews for this place looked great, and others described this place as OMOMO but without the wait. I can't agree with that statement but what you have here is still a good boba spot that I'm not upset about. We ordered the Matcha Gotcha, Sunset Trio, and The Bee's Knee's. We got there on a weekday afternoon and there was no line. The service was friendly and great! The menu seemed to be a bit all over the place as they had a chalkboard up front with specialty drinks along with pictures against the wall, they had another small sign near the register featuring "best sellers", and lastly they had a large normal-looking menu up against the wall featuring a build your own, classic drinks, and the aforementioned specialty drinks (note the best sellers were not on this menu). It would be nice if there was a least one menu with everything on it but I suppose that can be difficult with a changing menu. The drinks themself were not bad but nothing special. The matcha gotcha was good but not mindblowing good like OMOMO. The match gotcha's matcha flavor just didn't seem as good of quality. To me, it had a bit of a fishy taste which I usually taste when trying not the best quality matcha. The other teas as I mentioned were alright. There were so many handwritten drinks, on top of regular menu. The drinks themselves were meh. The tea was very sweet despite me asking for 50% sweetness. After going back to Leaf N Cream. I think this place is not worth higher than 3 stars. This time I ordered two black milk teas with boba and two different sugar levels. After one sip, I was so disappointed. It tastes likes flavored sugar milk. The tea flavor is nonexistent and there is virtually no difference between light sweetness and normal sweetness. The boba itself is sweet and is over cooked. It's too soft. There is minimal chewiness and breaks apart too easily. While the premise of mixing and matching your flavors sounds good and I've witnessed it work well in the past, Leaf N Cream falls short of my expectations. You're better off ordering their teas without milk. This is the first time I've ever considered throwing my tea away and I've finished some pretty watery and vile teas before. read more

My most recent visit to Leaf N Cream left me unsatisfied. They had cute light bulb containers for drinks so I ordered one for my regular milk tea. I asked for no ice and mentioned it twice. Upon receiving the drink, it was filled with ice. I told the drink maker that I requested no ice and he mentioned I need to say it up front, and didn't want to re-make the drink. It wasn't until I firmly insisted that the cashier backed me up to say that she forgot to note that on the label. Eventually they gave me a new drink with no ice. However, the drink was 2/3 filled, as you can see in the pic I've included. The light bulb container is already smaller than the regular sized containers so essentially I paid $7.03 (included tax) for 2/3 of a drink. I felt cheated. I like when it isn't too crowded and the interior is cute too while the service is good too. The cashier is always friendly (I've been coming here for years). I dropped by today for a pick-me-up ... Got the rose vanilla green milk tea unsweetened (because it's already artificially and beautifully sweet thanks to the rose and vanilla hahaha). Only complaint would be that they give little grass jelly even when I got a large, but I did get a free upgrade in size cause of Tea Tuesday's or something today (first time seeing this) so I can't complain. I hope this place lasts. I've been coming here since 2016, but they've instituted some new policies that make me think they are struggling. For example, the new rule they have for stamp cards (which essentially only save the customer 10%, max). You are no longer allowed to combine the cards, and they expire after a year. To me, this means that giving 10% off to frequent customers must significantly hurt their margins and so they are forced to restrict the cards now. Very worrisome. I went here the other day to give it a try. I'm not into the whole nouveau ice cream scene very much, and it feels very much like it's all been done before, like I'm on a roller coaster than I rode last week, thought it was just "OK", and can't remember why I'm getting on it again. Complicating the fact is that I don't normally eat dessert, because it pretty much invalidates any healthy routine I do during the week and try to avoid foods with added sugar whenever possible. And wasn't even close to my cheat day yet... SO on that note, since I'm already here I decided to give it a shot, be one of the first on my block to try it right? And they do offer a 10% check in discount, which is pretty nice besides. Now I'm here staring at the menu going... OK I don't eat boba, not really into ice cream that much, and haven't had dinner yet. oh I know COOKIES! look they have cookies. I know I'll order some cookies to go. So I told the girl I'll have one pink one and one green.. she's like yeah we only do ice cream..those are the cookies you can pick to make your macaron style sandwich. Hmmm OK I think, I'm willing to have a small spoonful, and simply give the rest away. So I took one spoonful and ask for a to-go lid... but they don't have to-go lids. So she suggests I take a Thrifty ice cream style napkin, not sure what that's gonna do. OK whatever... somehow I made it back with this thing and stuck it in my freezer after my small sample. They have 8 flavors of the frozen stuff to choose from, so you're bound to find at least one that you like. I went for the one flavor I was least likely to regret choosing on this day, and that was sea salt caramel. The ice cream cookie sandwich was a decent (medium) size, and was not too expensive, particularly with discount. One side of the sammie had way more caramel than the other, but that's way better than no caramel at all right. The ice cream was not too sweet and not too airy (light) nor too rich, just a good balance in the middle. And it complimented the green cookie with sprinkles quite well. However, the cookie was just ever so much too crumbly, like it wanted to break apart if you looked at it wrong. But once it soaked up a tiny bit of the ice cream it seems like it softened up just enough to make it not crumbly. Win/win right? Overall pretty delicious but can use some improvement in the execution and a bit bigger menu, perhaps. Might go back, but not until I try at least a couple more places during my cheat day. Because I'm way more into trying some snow right now. Honestly you're probably just better off ordering the ice cream if you go here cuz 2 flavors are only $2.95 but a macaron sandwich which is roughly the same amount of food costs about 50% more... yes I know it's a macaron but I just didn't thought it's a bit small for $4.25... maybe if they put a tiny bit more ice cream it will be a good price. The owners are friendly and want their customers to be happy. The hours of operation say they close at 10 pm, but I guess they get ready to close early at 9:30 pm because they're still so new. Getting here: Leaf N Cream is just off the I5! Find THH (Tan Hoang Huong sandwiches). It's down the street (Newport Ave) from Gen Korean BBQ and Souplantation. There's parking in the small private lot. I got a regular size drink, and it looked like it could have been a venti from Starbucks. I tried a fruity tea drink recommended by the cashier. It turned out ok, even at less sweet! I added boba since that's what I was here for. I think it's 50 cents for boba or other add-ons. The boba was alright. They were pretty generous with portions because I finished my tea and still had a layer of boba at the bottom. I'll be back to try the ice cream! The other day, my wife was telling me about some boba shop that serves their drinks in a little light bulb glass. I just happened to notice that this place carried those bulb glasses as well. In retrospect, I have no idea why I felt the need to get one, but I did. The thai iced tea served in the bulb glass was really good. I would get it again, sans the light bulb. However, the house iced coffee I got for myself was terrible. It was super light and tasted like coffee flavored water. I expected it to taste dark and creamy like the house coffee at 7 leaves or roasting water. No. I'm sure their other tea drinks are much better, so you're better off sticking with those. my theory on the name leaf n cream... so my theory is tea leaves for tea making and they also serve ice cream therefore thats where the word cream comes from. but am i right? who knows? but great theory right? came here because it killed two birds in one stone. boba for the hubby and ice cream for the little one. genius if you ask me! ordered: *mermaid drink- strawberry puree with fresh lactose free milk- pretty darn sweet. can't adjust sweetness level. but great for the gram. also good with the kids because it has no caffeine. but they might be on a sugar rush. *strawberry cheesecake ice cream- which tastes like rite aid to me. i didn't ask but that's going to be my guess. limited flavors available. *boba milk tea- hubby said it was okay, satisfied the cravings but didn't exactly hit that boba needs if that makes any sense. overall, i wouldn't come back. just because nothing stood out to me. the staff was just okay, she didn't appear as friendly to us as she did to other customers. i saw her smile and even offer their stamp card option. which makes me a little frustrated to see that there was a difference in service. they're a solid 3 stars for cleanliness and good gram opportunities. tips: *restroom available for customers *they offer wifi but i was never able to connect to it. you need to enter a password which is located by the register *there's playing cards and jenga available *indoor seating only *cash and credit card accepted *rewards card available but i was never offered one *shared parking lot with other businesses read more

Great boba shop with good service. It's even more valuable now more than ever with COVID-19 shutting down most locations. While the tea is very good, the 3 star review comes from the lack of drink. I prefer my drinks without ice and I was kindly informed that there would be less drink because of the option. For future customers, note that asking for no ice removed a third of your drink. It's no doubt a cheap policy from the corporation and not the store itself. Amazing drink though. Edit: Store manager reached out and provided insight about the reasoning behind this.
