This Happy Lemon location can be found at the The Market Place in Tustin, specifically right next door to Everspring Modern Chinese and Nekter Juice Bar with plenty of parking available. Since my husband and I were in this part of Orange County, we decided to make a stop at this location to take advantage of their special, buy one get one free Mango Pandan Sticky Rice Smoothie this past Sunday evening. We arrived around 4:45 pm and made our order, which came out to $8.50 total (tax included). We were not able to adjust the sweetness level on this drink. The drink was nice and cold, which was nice because it was a pretty hot day. The mango was good initially. It had a nice ripen mango flavor. However towards the bottom, the frozen pieces of mango was sour. I think it is possible that this drink was made with pureed mango (that was sweetened) and frozen pieces of mango that was not ripe. I am not sure what the sticky rice taste liked but I am assuming it was all blended together since. The pandan itself was gooey, almost like a soft formed mochi. It was powdery and did not taste good at all. I think this drink would have been much better without (which was swirled and rubbed on the inside of our cups. Service was friendly. I wanted to earn my points for this purchase but had to get onto my Happy Lemon app. But the problem was that the app was making me change my password and verify my email, etc. It was a pain and the girl at the register was patient and told me to take my time since I was struggling to log in (luckily no one was behind us when we ordered). Wait time for our drinks was about 5 minutes after ordering. There is 1 unisex restroom in this tea house but it definitely needed cleaning. Overall, our visit was positive but probably would not order this drink again or maybe ask if I can make modifications of omitting the pandan. read more

Anywho, I stumbled upon this place after pulling into the plaza to figure out something on my phone. I was also looking for a place to get a drink before heading to play badminton. My phone was acting up so I didn't want to look up a spot to drive to. Right before I left I looked around and noticed happy lemon. I went in and since it was my first time, I took awhile to decide. Their milk tea looked good but I wanted something lighter so I went for the passion fruit mango tea. I also ordered a bubble waffle. The order came out to $14 and took about 5 minutes. Taste wise the two items were pretty good. The tea from the drink was fragrant and strong but not bitter. The passionfruit was a bit too sour but the mango flavor saved it. The waffle was good. I paid and he got straight to work on my order. I forgot to mention that I wanted less sugar and less ice but oh well. My husband asked for the code to the restroom and went to wash his hands. i've been to this location a couple of times now to order an original bubble waffle and the passionfruit green tea with lychee, and it's always very delicious. the waffle comes out with super crispy edges, though i do wish it could be cooked a little more in the middle of the bubbles, since they sometimes seem a bit undercooked. the drinks have always been super refreshing though. i also came for their genshin collab a while back and was really impressed by both the drinks and the merch that was available at the time. it was a really fun little pop-up experience. i do wish there was seating inside, but it's more of a grab-and-go kind of place. there is plenty of seating outside though, which helps. the workers have mostly been very nice in my experience, though the last time i went they seemed a little overwhelmed and were a bit curt as a result. i don't fault them too much for it though, since there was a bit of a line that afternoon. all in all, it's a nice stop for a little sweet treat :) read more

The black milk tea is fairly good, but they are on the sweeter side. I adjusted my drink to 50% sweetness but because the boba itself is also very sweet, I feel like it was still too sugary. The seasonal strawberry oolong milk tea was really weird, but I was thinking it was just bad because it wasn't my taste. I got a very normal jasmine milk tea with boba today and... I don't know, my first sip tasted strongly of chemicals, and there were bits of... something(?) that was definitely neither the boba nor possible tea leaves.
