MasterShield gutter guards do not work well at all where there are significant valley-area concentrations of rainwater flow (we have several). The sales staff did not disclose this in advance, and we were surprised to find many areas of plastic gutter flow reducers installed instead of the more durable, warranted MasterShield product we were quoted. In one valley flow area that has the MasterShield screen gutter guards we have very large rainwater overshoot that causes a puddle outside and inside our garage. The company would not respond to our request to have flow reducers installed, in spite of their promise to fix problems after installation. Finally, the sales staff did not provide an on-site quote, leading to unexpected additional charges. We do not recommend this company and MasterShield gutter guards. read more

Kind of a mixed bag here. In 2019, they put MasterShield gutters on our house which are a good product. It was easy to work with them. They scheduled things quickly. They were courteous and prompt while the job was going on and they did a good job installing the cistern as well. After they left I found a couple minor things wrong. They installed new fascia board behind the gutters on one part of the house. The new fascia that was installed is missing a chunk of wood and is clearly the cheapest lumber you can grab off the shelf at Home Depot or similar. They didn't offer to paint it before they installed gutters over the top of it. Thankfully it was primed but still I would have actually paid more for that fascia board to fit in with the rest of the house, it literally runs right into a piece of fascia board next to it that's been painted white. This seems like common sense but I guess not. Finally, there's a part of the roof where two gutters come together only three feet from a downspout and for some reason it always drains straight off that joint / corner and down into the yard without going down the downspout. Something is obviously wrong there. read more

Was able to reach easily. Have guarded gutters that clogged. They only do the first cleaning for free then after that $250 for a cleaning which is usually every couple of years. I thought this was odd because they guarantee lifetime no clogging. read more

Be cautious when dealing with this company. The installers were very good and the end product seems to be what we wanted, but the person who did the estimate was either incompetent or intentionally underbid the job. The installers arrived and almost immediately informed us of an issue regarding our drip cap which was going to cost an additional $1300. We were given a "discount" from that amount, but it was still considerably more than we expected. I certainly should have been more wary and careful about the process. I could tell there was a problem with the drip cap on the existing roof, but assumed it was obvious to the person doing the estimate. read more

Update: wow. In addition to poor customer service, it turns out their owner is a liar. Not a single thing in her response is true. The purpose of my original call was to ask if they serviced Hoodsport. They told me "yes, we have someone out there right now doing quotes as we speak." They also said it would be easy to do a remote bid via google earth or get the dimensions from the county assessor so they assured me multiple times it was no problem. They just didn't do it. If they hadn't told me that was part of their service area, I would not have spent 6 weeks trying to contact them. I would have spent that time trying to find someone else. Why would I spend 6 weeks trying to schedule a time to receive a quote somewhere outside your service area? What a joke of a company. They must have changed hands since we had them do our gutters a few years ago. Too bad. I revised my review from 2 stars to 1 because of the owner's response. read more

I did a lot of research and the master shield product was the only product that addressed all my concerns in particular self cleaning, pine needles, and shingle grit. Service was good and installation went smoothly except from some paint touch ups - all good. read more

I have had a terrible experience with Leafless in Seattle. Their staff is rude, their workers ran into my fence, then they did not want to pay to get it fixed, it took 3 months for them to complete the job, when we pointed out that they were not living up the their 100% satisfaction guarantee they threatened us with a lean. I love the Douglas firs that surround our new house, and after spending a few weekends cleaning gutters, I decided it was time to fix the problem. I interviewed MasterShield as well as the other guys and got competitive estimates from both (although the MasteShield's number was actually a little lower). I also saw samples from both, got explanations on how they work, and learned firsthand why the gutter shields I bought at Lowe's (as a test) just plain don't work. Jim was very patient and knowledgeable in explaining the options, and even identified some flashing issues which needed fixing, as well. After a horrendously wet winter, I don't miss the clogged gutters one bit. I was a little surprised at project completion to receive a telescoping brush to clean my self-cleaning gutters - and it's proven useful for the 3 or 4 times I've needed to remove needles which tend to collect below the valleys in two locations. So it appears that I need to budget about 30 minutes a year to attend to a couple of trouble spots. I'll take it! I highly recommend MasterShield, for the product, the workmanship, and the service. When you decide to give up the gutter-cleaning ritual, you'll probably receive an estimate that's more than double your budget. (especially if you decide to replace rather than just cover your existing gutters. They'll explain why the system works much better if the gutters are located to allow the covers to maintain or exceed the roof pitch.) You can probably negotiate it a bit, but then do it anyway. You won't regret it. read more

We had gutters replaced after the cheap ones they roll off a truck and install in two hours fell off in the last snow. The Leafless crew took 5 days to remove, prepare and secure their gutters and guards. We live around a lot of trees so I was excited to see how these gutter guards work. We have had several heavy rains on our metal roof and these gutters are a dream come true. Not a drip gets by even at the valleys where they installed a special gutter. The former ones always leaked there. My railing and covered wrap-around deck stayed totally dry and it formerly was wet a foot or more in. Also, they stand by their work. We found a couple of metal shards after they left and they sent a man out the next day who did another complete walk around for about an hour to make sure all debris was accounted for. WOW!!! I can't say enough good things about these guys. From start to finish they are the best. I started out my journey a bit skeptical do to all the things I've seen my friends try that never worked. I looked at several different gutter protection products before MasterShield. MasterShield was my last bid. Jim came out and showed me the system. Jim is highly knowledgeable and very professional. I ultimately chose MasterShield because rather than sitting on top of the gutter, if follows the same pitch as my roof. Because it follows the roof pitch, any debris would be more apt to roll off rather than get trapped on top of the gutter. When the work started the guys were great. The quality of work is amazing. While they were up there they even added some additional flashings to my roof that were missing at no charge. The system has now been up for about a month. I have a really steep roof plus I have a couple big valleys that dump tons of water right on the filter. I was a little concerned the system wouldn't be able to take all the water in a heavy downpour. Well, even with all the melting snow and the tons of rain, the system worked perfect.
