After three days I got a text telling me that they inspected my car and "there's a problem with the transmission." REALLY? REALLY?????? They did not identify a problem. "Something is broken inside" does not sound like a diagnosis. The only diagnosis was to tell me that I could spend ANOTHER $2000 for them to "break it down on the bench" and find out what was wrong and THEN it might cost ANOTHER $3000 to $5000 to actually fix something. I wonder why I spent over $330 only to be told the EXACT same thing that I told them when I drove in, "Something is wrong with the transmission". I have no idea what kind of actual work this place does. All I know is that they took $330 of my money and gave me nothing in return. I feel cheated. I believe that an honest mechanic deserves to be paid for his expertise, his knowledge and for the work that he accomplishes. Like any professional, his time is valuable. But an HONEST mechanic does not charge customers for promises made and not kept. He does not charge hundreds of dollars when he knows that it is just money down the drain. An HONEST mechanic would tell people up front that they cannot get a diagnosis for $330. An HONEST mechanic would tell customers that a diagnosis will be much more expensive because it involves so much work. Yes, a two thousand dollar diagnosis would chase away some customers, but at least it would be truthful. Even though this is my first car and I don't have much driving experience, I still knew that "something is wrong with the transmission." This was a con. What I got for my money was just an expensive lesson in human dishonesty and greed.

Tony and I took a test drive, after which he suggested my problem was NOT in my transmission... He had high confidence and made suggestions on next steps to diagnose some noises/problems I was having. Tony spent almost 30 minutes with me... I offered him money for his time and he refused. Top notch, locally owned and I would highly recommend them based on this experience.

Was told it had "jumped time" and needed an entire new engine replacement or they could trash it for me. Towed it home and got a second opinion. Absolutely nothing about the engine was showing up with a diagnostic scanner and turns out only needed a sensor replaced. I literally paid less for the sensor part than what Motorworks charged me for a diagnostic fee. Car is running again without an engine replacement. I feel like this was either fraud and or incompetence.

Another tire-only place did it for free! Another time I received a $50 gift card from them. I figured that I would use it for an alignment that I did not REALLY need, but I might as well get since I have not had one in three years. I get there, talk about the pricing online and give them the gift card and everything SEEMED to have been on it's way to being fine. Then as I am settled in thinking that the alignment is being performed, the pay lady comes to me and tells me that I should consider an oil change (at 30%) and filter changes. I declined. The she returns later to tell me that the $50 gift card cannot be used in combination of the online 'sale' price of the alignment! I of course - declined the service. In short, I have been her three times - each time expecting a service, and they always try to up-sell me on something that I don't need or they try to charge higher prices than either advertised or available elsewhere. So I spent a lot of time here and I have yet to get actual services from these people! I am not sure how they keep business going for services by doing this and turning people away. Why send someone a gift card good for services or a new car (only), then try to make sure that we spend what THEY want us to spend instead of taking the extra money? This was pure bait and switch and it seems as if they do not want to honor any warranties or their own offers. In fact, many Acura dealers seem to find many excuses to not honor warranties. The Acura cars are good, but the dealerships are horrible and are not held accountable by Acura in their scams. The dealerships and their scams and dishonesty is what will make me NOT buy another Acura! No wonder I saw no one there. It is sad, but Honda dealers provide better customer service than the so-called luxury brand - and the Honda dealers don't try to scam you! I am guessing because Honda is Japanese to the core and in name, but Acura is American branded, thus comes with American scams and disrespect.

A little digging and I found them, then the part online (they said they could get it too) and they repaired it lickety split. No more funky spazzy brakes!
