The service at Garavel is always excellent. Recently, I had an emergency situation with my cooling system. I contacted Ronnie Goss, the Assistant Service Manager at Garavel and he gave me some very wise advice on how to deal with the problem. After I had the car towed to Garavelle, Ronnie had the technicians do a full review of the cooling system and other parts of the car. The technicians quickly came up with the cause of the problem and how to correct it. Ronnie also did some research on my extended warranty and found that the repairs were fully covered by my warranty. I would highly recommend Garavel and Ronnie for their excellent service. read more

Hi, Just wanted to check in to update all including the Garavel team. Back in April i dropped off my car again, I was called a week later to be told that they ordered a part. A week passed by and i got another call, they finally got around to reading my review. I was told the following, that because I gave them a negative review I was going to be treated the Same, and they will no longer service my car, seems like a recurring theme there. If they can't resolve your issue and you post a negative review they decide not to deal with you. I posted a photo here of when the call occurred so that if owners are interested in a training opportunity they should use the call as an example for what not to say to a customer. I left a message for Jeremy Garavel back then but never got a call back, nevertheless, I didn't give up neither did Stolantis, the manufacturer, they are professionals unlike the service staff at Garavel Stolantis followed up every week. I brought my car over to Tasca Jeep in Elmsford N.Y. The problem that over two years eluded Garavel was identified and resolved in two weeks by Tasca. Tasca will now get my buisness along with 5 other Jeep vehicles we have in our family. If you are having an issue with service because they can't resolve it call Stolantis and open up a case. They told Stolantis that they couldn't replicate the issue and that is why they turned the car back to me. The service guy told me that it doesn't occur all the time, as to say, why don't you live with it. I'm happy my Jeep is working properly now. I love my wrangler! So I secured an appointment a few months out for something different hoping that by the time it came, the parts would be in. I called a few days ago to ask whether the parts were in and the same front desk woman said yes, and that is what my appointment was for. I took time off of work today to drive the car in only to find out that there are no parts. The front desk staff of the service department is so rude and bothered by any help. Our engine died (due to a cam problem many wranglers are having) at under 30,000 miles. I have been in and out of the shop most of the summer (was without a car for 3 months+). The top half of the engine was replaced and garavels admission with out properly connecting the fuel injection. Our car smelled like gasoline and then the engine broke again as a result. I called and called to bring it back in with no response. I finally walked in and demanded an appointment to fix it. They only gave me one after my last post on their review board. I also purchased an extended warranty and paid extra for rental coverage. Now the engine is stalling and still smells like gasoline-I have left voice messages and texts since August. Today when I went in to request an appointment and was told if I want a rental it would likely be months (I've been trying to make an appointment since picking it up in mid August) but they would let me know what could be done about an appointment. A hour later I received this text message from the service manager in the picture-setting they would no longer work on my car, and have stopped responding since. I have also heard from the area rep that have not returned their calls requesting an appointment or rental permit my warranty. My car doesn't even have 40,000 miles and I paid $70,000 after buying it new. Also-at the time of sale they told me it was so much more than a regular jeep because it's a hybrid. But when I looked into trading it in the same sales rep that sold me the car and told me that said a hybrid and regular jeep are comparably priced. When I pointed out the discrepancy he said "well we are in the business of making $". I have never had such an awful and increasingly hostile experience buying or fixing a car in my life. I would not recommend getting a bicycle there. They say they stand by their car owners-but as my 4th car there to be treated this way because they don't want me in handle the lemon they sold me is bewildering and disappointing. read more

No sure if he's still working there as left him multiple messages, but never call back. worked with Ron as service advisor. Ron was helpful and got the multiple batteries in the vehicle replaced and an oil change done quickly. Though will need to go back to get missing clips that were removed in order to get to Parts needing replacement. My experience with this dealership: NOT RECOMMENDED I bought a Jeep with only 28,000 miles, practically "new." However, during the first oil change, less than a year after the purchase, I was informed of a list of issues that should not appear in a vehicle like this: * Oil leaks * Both batteries defective * The fuel economizer not working * The oil evaporator also in bad condition I want to clarify that the car is driven less than 10 miles a day, so these failures make no sense in a supposedly almost-new vehicle. All of this inevitably raises the question: What quality of cars does this dealership actually sell? For me, it does not inspire confidence at all. If a car develops this many problems so quickly, one would expect the dealership to know and clearly communicate the real condition of the vehicle from the beginning, with 100% transparency. On top of that, I've been waiting almost two years for a replacement part, which only makes the experience worse. While in the Norwalk CT area (40 min. From me) I happened upon Garavel Jeep. Since I was going to need to turn in my leased jeep in two months, I stopped in to see what deals and options there may be. Everyone at this dealership was very cordial. Extra precautions were in place due to COVID. I first met with the Sales Manager Ernesto. Turns out he is from the same place I grew up. I gave him some background on my jeep and what I wanted in the new one. I was given a price and was informed it may be 6-8 weeks for delivery. I did not sign or agree at this point as I wanted to visit other dealers in my home area. After two weeks and 5-6 dealer calls/visits, no other dealer could match the quote I was given by Garavel. I ordered from Garavel even though I was 40 minutes from this dealer. 6 weeks later I had the exact Jeep I wanted and Garavel bought out my existing Jeep at a very fair price. First time buying a car and the engine light went on immediately after pulling off the lot. Jeep caught on fire 6 weeks later. Lucky to be alive. Paul garavel didn't respond until I posted photos of the fire. Those photos have been removed. He offered to pay me , then withdrew his offer after the pictures were taken down. He probably paid to have the pictures removed also. Do not trust this dealership. In regards to Paul's comment. Fact: I bought a jeep from him Fact: the engine light came on and it had transmission problems the day I bought it, which cost me $2500 Fact: I was told there was no warranty on the vehicle, I did not decline the warranty. I specifically asked if I could get one and was told no. Fact: after I had to get work done because I was sold a lemon, it caught on fire. I had a recent service (which was done properly!), but I had an issue with some of the charges. Dave, the service manager, rectified the problem and I was satisfied. I have had a few service things done to my 14 Grand Cherokee, and the work always seems to have been done professionally and ready when promised. No one likes having to go to the dealer, it is sort of like the dentist! Especially someone like me, who has worked on and knows cars, but does not have the time or tools to work on these newer vehicles. I am always nervous about someone else touching my car. But these guys seem fine. I will comment that they claim to have done "multipoint inspection with report". I received no report, and I knew going in that my tire pressures were low, just had not gotten to it. They did not spot it. Also could have rinsed off the car for a $700+ service. Just would make a customer feel appreciated. So that is the one star off! read more

I took a while to write this review, and I'm glad I did. I came to Garavel to check out a used CRV they were offering at a great price. I was a little skeptical about buying a Honda from a Jeep dealership, but the car was immaculate. Jorge was straightforward and put zero pressure on us, which made the buying experience very comfortable. When we finally got home from buying the car, we realized there was a mistake on the paperwork, which ended up with us being a bit overcharged. However, we had signed off on it, so we were kicking ourselves and never expecting to see that money again. Amazingly, Sue worked with us to get the issue resolved and we were reimbursed. To me, that speaks volumes of this dealer's integrity. Where most dealers would do anything to scrape a few hundred extra dollars from a sale, Garavel was more concerned with providing a positive customer experience and making things right. I'm not typically one for writing reviews and I'm generally a very patient mild mannered person, but this may have been one of the worst experiences that I've had at any sort of business anywhere. I cannot stress enough how much I recommend NOT going to this dealership. From the very start, when I first inquired about a Jeep Wrangler, I was dealing with an absolute airhead of a salesperson. He wasn't much of a help over the phone or email and was super slow to respond. Once we eventually agreed on a price (confirmed over email) at the end of the week, he finally called me and I offered to make the 2.5 hour drive from Boston to Norwalk and buy the car that same day. He told me the finance team wouldn't have time and that I should come early the next day, so I made an appointment for the earliest possible time (9am). The next morning we drove 2.5 hours down to Garavel, arriving for the appointment promptly at 9am, and are greeted by a different salesperson who gives us the keys to the Jeep and lets us take a test drive. All is great with the Jeep and we give the keys back to the salesperson who then walks back inside to get the paperwork started. However, apparently, while out on the test drive, a woman was also booked for an appointment for the same vehicle for the exact same time slot. Upset, she sees the car pull out for the test drive and buys it on the spot. After we return and confirm that we are ready to purchase the car, a different sales rep comes out to break the news to us saying that he felt bad because she drove from an hour away. Even though we had driven from 2.5 hours away and offered to come the afternoon before! This was very frustrating and completely ridiculous and irresponsible that an appointment for the same car was made for the same exact time. And on top of that, having us drive 2.5 hours (each way) and giving the opportunity to test drive the car. Thinking that they were going to do right by asking if we'd like to see another car within our price range, they then bring out a different Wrangler and show it to us and bring us inside only to tell us that it's $5,000 over our budget. I've been to other dealerships and I get that a salesperson's priority is just to make the deal and hit their numbers, but this was by far and away the most scummy experience that I've ever had. Garavel Jeep and its employees were very unprofessional and are an excellent example of how business should not be done. If I could go lower than 1 star, I absolutely would. read more

BE WARNED... these guys are NOT to be trusted. My husband bought a 2017 Jeep Wrangler in Virginia last summer and he also purchased the Mopar pre-paid service plan, which covers all regular services. When he took the Jeep into Garavel for the standard 5k mile service he explained as much. But when he called to schedule pick up the guy asked for a credit card for the charges. Upon asking why he was being charged he was given the run around. Now my husband worked his way through college as a certified dealer tech, so he knows all the tricks. He told the service advisor (name was TJ) that he wanted a more detailed explanation of the charges and he never received it, but provided a credit card anyway so that he could get his car back. When he picked up the car there was a receipt for a charge of over $113 for a simple oil and filter change that he'd already paid for in the pre-paid service plan!! Greenwich Jeep charges $80 for the same service and confirmed via phone that there should have been no charge with the Mopar pre-paid service plan!! Unbelievable! We have since emailed two managers at Garavel and reached out to the owner and have received ZERO response! What a disappointment!! We will NEVER go back to this dealer and we will be looking into other ways to get the over-change back. I would find another place to service your car for sure!! read more

Honeymoon is over. We purchased a used car at Garavel beginning of this year, nothing special to report. The deal came with free oil changes, we decided to get our 1st one done this month. The 1st visit went well, a little longer than expected but still OK. When the car started leaking oil in our garage, we set a 2nd appointment to verify what the issue was. We were told that the oil drain plug had to be changed and asked to come back: FYI, nobody other than Garavel touched this car since the purchase. So be it, 3rd appointment today (it's kind of cool to spend couple of hours at the service department of the garage, once a week...). It took 6 technicians to figure they could not change it and 1 to suggest that we go to VW to get it fixed (and 1 hour and 15 mn). Well, I will do as said, pay my due to VW and NEVER go back to Garavel again. This garage is a joke. read more

As others have noted, there are some serious trust issues between Garavel and those who unfortunately are tricked into becoming their customers. They are the typical sneaky dealership that your friends warn you about. Consider yourself warned, dear reader. You need to be on your toes the minute you step through their door, trust no one and nothing. Let me explain... I was looking for a new lease on a Jeep Grand Cherokee and was communicating with a Garavel sales rep over phone and email. After a short while we agreed on a 36-month lease and a decent monthly payment. LIE No 1: I go to Garavel to sign and pick the car up, everyone is all smiles. They hand me the agreement and lo and behold it was was for a 39-month lease, not 36!!! They tried to downplay the whole situation, "you can return the car early and lease other vehicle", blah blah blah. It WAS a big deal though. They clearly lured me in with a good price and changed the terms of the lease after our phone/email agreement. It is my fault for not walking out the door but I had traveled a long way to get there and said whatever, I'll go for it. LIE No 2: The extra wear and tear insurance scam. Yes, I fell for that one too... I leased thinking that I might buy it out at the end and the finance manager said "peace of mind if you return the car for another, AND if you want to buy the car after the lease is over: fix any minor exterior damage, so you buy your car in top shape". I am now near the end of the lease and I want to buy my leased car because it is in really great shape. I park on the street and it has some unavoidable scratch marks so I thought I'd use the extra wear and tear insurance as the Garavel Finance Manager had suggested. I call for the details and once again, lo and behold she has no idea what I am talking about, no one said that this insurance covers claims for cars that are not returned at the end of the lease. So what, I am making up stories? Worse even, the manager had no intention to work with me, chuckled and said something along the lines "everyone has some issue with their dealer". Every business I deal with, I start by saying I don't mind paying a little extra as long as I know I get treated fairly. I hate haggling, tricks, fine print, dishonest smiles, hearing one thing only to be handed an agreement that reads otherwise. Garavel doesn't get that and will no longer call me a customer, not that they care apparently. This shows you how much they value their customers and what their priorities are. You might get a one-time good deal but be on your toes at all times! Trust no one, they are the exact opposite of honest. read more
