The question we asked ourselves is what made them decide to open up a BBQ spot? Like seriously?? How can you serve DRY meat when you say it's smoked and kept at resting temperature. Every ounce of meat on our plate was dry. Once we remembered that another smokehouse that would NEVER serve such was right down the street, made us even more upset. Just unbelievable. And to serve pinto beans and call them baked beans........ catastrophic. One and done.

While the drink and service were good, the food left us wanting. In fact, we didn't finish it. The brisket and ribs were dry and the Mac and cheese needed salt, which wasn't on the table so we added hot sauce. We were so excited to eat here because it was featured in a magazine as an up and coming bbq place.

Ive been to longleaf a couple of times before but this time I went for their Burial Beer Dinner as part of their 3rd anniversary celebration. It was a 5 course meal with each dish paired with a beer from Burial brewery. Everything was unique and flavorful which you won't find on their regular menu. My favorite was the Venison Loin. It was smoked and cooked perfectly to a medium rare. The brown butter rutabaga paired really well with it. The smoked swordfish was also really good. I haven't had swordfish smoked before so it was definitely interesting.

When you come to the south you expect good barbecue and Longleaf delivers it with a smile. from the wait staff and the kitchen staff .They have a nice outdoor covered area and all the condiments you would expect. I had the pulled pork platter with really good fries highly recommend also we split the mac and cheese and wings the mac had a really good cheesy flavor only caveat was the macaroni was a bit overcooked I like mine a bit more firm but it was still good but the wings were the hit super big and seasoned perfectly would go back in an instant

Came for dinner on a weeknight at around 7 PM and they were already out of ribs, so will come earlier next time. I did try: + Cheerwine slush + Pulled pork sandwich + Boiled peanuts + Pimento mac and cheese + potato salad + whiskey baked beans + Collards + Pimento hush puppies Standouts were the mac and cheese and collards. Also liked the cheerwine slush, potato salad, baked beans and hush puppies. Carolina gold bbq sauce was amazing on everything. Will try the brisket next time, too!

Stop selling food! Just serve drinks. Brisket (even the fatty pieces) lacked flavor and was dry! Ribs, DRY! Chicken wings, outrageously over cooked!!!! I don't drink so I can only assume the drinks are good since there was a decent amount of people there because there is no way they came for the food. I really wanted it to be better.

Whole Smoked & Fried Chicken Wings - 5 Count and Roasted & Fried Sweet Potatoes

Went on a Saturday night and it was not too busy. There is a large outdoor dining area and seating inside also. We seated ourselves and were able to order quickly. I tried the Carolina Gold BBQ Whole Smoked & Fried Chicken Wings and the Roasted & Fried Sweet Potatoes. The wings were okay, they were cooked good but the sauce wasn't my favorite. Someone at my table had the wings with buffalo sauce and I liked that much butter. The ranch wasn't good at all, tasted like nothing and was very bland. The sweet potatoes were also just okay. They were topped with goat cheese, candied pepitas and agave. I love sweet potatoes but these just missed the mark for me. Most of them seemed slightly undercooked as they were hard and tough to chew. I enjoyed the combinations of toppings but I wasn't really able to enjoy them altogether as the potatoes weren't the best. Someone at my table also had the pimento mac & cheese and it was so good! I definitely wish I would have ordered that instead. Our waitress was nice and gave us recommendations on the menu items. Overall, I would come back to try other menu items!

A very nice experience at Longleaf Swine BBQ. Service was good and very attentive. The menu offered a lot of options. Everyone enjoyed the bbq. My favorite was the smash burger. The fried crackers and pimento cheese were very good.

One of the best bbq spots in Raleigh! Definitely try the brisket sandwich, it is the best thing on the menu! We also tried the smoked chicken pot pie that was a special this season and was perfect for the weather starting to change! The service is always very good and super quick!

My partner and I are in NC for a wedding and we made the decision to stay another day to explore the city and cuisine. We on a whim, chose to try Longleaf because as we drove by we were chuckling at the name. It had an inside and an outside seating and we chose to sit on the outside. The servers were very attentive and waiting for the food took no time. For an appetizer we shared the 5 wings with Carolina gold sauce, those wings were so tender and juicy, you literally do not need teeth to enjoy it. So good. I had the brisket platter with collards with corn bread and it was so good. 5/5 I mixed all three bbq sauces and lemme tell you it was everything I needed. The brisket had a perfect bark and it was the perfect bite. My partner had the brisket sandwich and his review is that it was outstanding. 5/5 As my partner watched the game I order boiled peanuts and pork skins because damn do I like pork skins? Idk but I like their pork skins. And the boiled nuts DE Freaking Licious. 5/5 Great experience! Good vibes thank you for having us !

Sitting here on the patio still letting that amazing food digest. Delicious bbq. I got the pulled pork with collards and my husband got the special spicy brisket Philly with pimento Mac & cheese. Everything was super tasty. Service was quick and super friendly. So glad we found this place for some tasty Carolina bbq.

We came to this restaurant in the evening and there were a decent amount of people dining inside. The tables are kind of small although the restaurant was spacious. The business offers a variety of BBQ food options. Our service was good. Unfortunately the ribs were bland & the mac was a little greasy. The ribs were tender and the food was served warm.

Incredible first time North Carolina BBQ experience. Food was fantastic, our server was so friendly and cool and gave us all the pointers on cool spots to visit, ambience was perfect (casual, laid back and local). I had the pulled pork Sandwich, my hubby had the brisket melt and my sis had the pulled pork grilled cheese. Wings were also fantastic. Loved the bottles of different bbq sauce on the table. So good!!!

As of this review they are the #2 most reviewed place in Raleigh only behind the Pit. When we went last week for a farewell dinner it took us 3 weeks to get in. We got turned away 2 other times. The place was always packed and busy yet cozy and calm with great service. Hopefully they relocate or put some of the items from the menu at Pooles. Fuquay could use a nice place like this and it would be way cheaper than Raleigh! Best of luck to the staff in the future as they all look for work.

I understand as if you aren't seated when they open, you can expect a 90-minute to two-hour wait. I was hoping to get the Chicken Pot Pie this time and thought my prior visit was just off. I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.

Seriously, if you can't find a pour you like here, you may just need water instead. Started with the biscuits topped with crackling and house-made preserves, and honestly, that combo alone made me question why I don't eat more biscuits in life. Sweet, salty, buttery chaos in the best way. For the main, I went with the pork chop and greens. The chop leaned a little overcooked for me personally, but the sauce helped bring things back together and added good flavor. The greens had a nice little kick of heat, but I kept waiting for that deep smoky ham hock flavor to show up like an old Southern grandma entering the kitchen... and it never quite arrived. Overall though? Still a solid meal, strong whiskey program, cool atmosphere, and definitely worth checking out if you're in Raleigh looking for a bourbon-forward dinner spot. The Food The menu leans comfort food with a modern edge, and it's done really well across the board. We started with a Caesar salad with dill pickle dressing, which sounds like it shouldn't work but absolutely does. Bright, fresh, and just different enough to be interesting without trying too hard. The beet salad was also excellent, clean flavors and well balanced. Then came the pimento cheese with fried crackers. This might have been the sleeper hit. The crackers are dangerously good. Simple idea, executed perfectly, and hard to stop eating. For mains, the fried chicken was solid but didn't stand out the same way the starters did. She brought me iced water and gave me time to look at the menu. I wanted to try so many things and I was too optimistic about ordering 3 things and finishing them myself. Good thing I only ordered 2 things! An order of fried catfish with home fries and one egg. And a biscuit with sausage gravy. The fried catfish was salted and well fried. It tasted delicious for my first bite! The home fries were basically cut potatoes, but they weren't very fried or flavored. I wished I ordered the side of apple sauce instead. The biscuit and sausage was good, but a bit too much for one person after eating a separate order already. Definitely bring more people so you can try more things. Also, I wished I had asked for sausage gravy on the side so I can try the biscuit on its own first as well. Furthermore, I would have more time to eat the catfish so I wasn't worried about the biscuit getting soggy. Christy came to check up on me every now and then. The place was buzzing with people and decorations so I didn't feel so alone. When it was time to pay, Christy brought me the check for me to pay at the cash register. Both Christy and the cashier were so friendly! The restaurant does have a women's and a mens restroom if needed.
