Great for large groups. A bit of a dive but so is most of Nashua. Leda's Lighthouse offers glow bowling under black lights with illuminated fluorescents. Great for large groups of all ages and kids birthday parties. Limited menu but beer, hard cider, pizza and appetizers are options. I used to frequent both when I lived in Nashua, years ago. Both are aging noticeably and need some fresh paint. The balls at Leda's Lighthouse are chipped and don't glow, making them hard to see in the dark. I spoke with the manager and I was told I overpaid for the time I spent there to rent the pool table. I was offered a $20 credit, but haven't been back since. Maybe someday, we've taken a break from going to public places. Sully has been to many public places and events, Drag races/arcades/restaurants/hotels etc. with no problems. Just because he was having a bad day, does not give him the right to discriminate against someone with disabilities. So I hesitated to put a review up, because they are such nasty people at the front desk. I didn't want to deal with them. But feel people should what can expect if they use this establishment. I actually quit my league, this year. The bowling alley isn't well maintained at all. And the workers are awful. The woman who works at the front desk is very rude and disrespectful. Unfortunately, this place is filthy. It looks like they never clean the floor, like ever! There is a pile of trash by the door which was there both times we went over a 30 day period. We had a wonderful date night here!! Fun is what you make it! It was our first time playing candle stick bowling and it was very entertaining. This isn't your average bowling alley, this is what's referred to as "Candle Stick" bowling; it's cool, different is good. Got here early on a Sunday morning. Someone mentioned that some of the employees have an attitude. One person seemed ok. This other girl gave us attitude when we inquired when the charity fundraiser event would start. We played a game on the last lane near the doors...lane was a bit warped and the pins were always wobbling. Game was $4 a string per person. We returned later for the charity event that was being held on the other side, lanes 1-15 or so. Lanes were not much better. The system is pretty out-of-date. I attended a 3yr birthday party while the kids were bowling they were just throwing the balls down the lane and it would hit the gate. Employee came and was frustrated with the kids. As she was returning to the boot she was saying they will break the lane. I went to discuss the issue. I said you have to under they are kids but you should calm down. Have to admit I know little to nothing about bowling, but had a great time regardless. The shoes were rocking (neon green & orange), the place was clean and they had waitress service to your lane. The beer selection was way better than I was expecting (Sierra Nevada on draft) and only $5 a pint. The people (both other customers & employees) were super nice and friendly. I was visiting my cousin and there wasn't much open to do over Christmas weekend. I found a Groupon and decided to call there location to see if there open. I did notice the fine print which said I couldn't use it over Christmas but decided to give them a call. They said they were open till midnight and they would take Groupon. I didn't bother wasting much time on the phone and headed right over. Upon arrival, the place was empty and clearing losing money today. When I brought up there Groupon, they turned it down despite saying they would take it on there phone. We left promptly as they clearly either 1. I spent my 27th birthday here from 8pm-closing and had the best time. Yes it's old and not super fancy, but we enjoyed every second. We had a group of 7, bowled for 3 games on 2 lanes, and it only cost $18 per person including shoes. Then the best part- Keglers Den!! We started the night at the bar, bowled, and finished the night at the bar. They do Karaoke on Friday nights, and it was such a fun crowd! Drinks are very well priced ($4 per cider). Food is mostly appetizers but my favorite types!! Throughout the night I had 2 orders of mozzarella sticks because they were only $6 each for 8(?) sticks! Have you ever had fun and felt depressed at the same time? Best way to describe the thrilling experience that is Leda Lanes. Joselyne S. had a few hours to spare this afternoon, so I grabbed Scott B. and we were able to work in one frame to our busy, fun-filled Nashua afternoon. The creepy thing about it? We were literally the only ones there just before 6:00 PM on a Tuesday. I guess people in Nashua just don't respect the flicker of the candlepins. Anyway, this old man came out of nowhere. I like to imagine he worked there, but it's more likely he was some sort of old man that died in the bowling alley. Let's call him "Mr. Leda." So, we were visited by The Ghost of Mr. Leda. He liked to yell things at us, only some of which I could even begin to understand. He was awesome. I have many fun child memories from here, and I made a point to bring Scott B. there because of that. It was the site of many a 3rd grade birthday party. Also, for three people and one string of bowling, it was $18.00. In New York City it's A LOT more than that, so that was kind of a refreshing bargain. Love to hate this place. read more

Expensive, but fun. - We took two kids here the other day. This place is DARK! So, they aren't kidding about the glow-bowling part. They set us up with a lane, and the cool thing is they can set whether or not the bumpers come up for certain people's names. So, if two kids in your group need the bumpers that protect the ball from being a gutterball, then when it's their time to bowl - it automatically makes them flip up. Then when it's the big-kids turnm they automatically retract. Kind of cool. AND - the place serves BOOZE! It's kind of a funky place inside - with the dark lighting and blacklights and small table setup, BUT - the kids had a great time and I love the fact that you can get a BEER while bowling. Being from out West, I had never even heard of candlepin bowling, let alone actually played it. My group and I decided that it's kind of like skeeball on a larger scale. We had four adults and an infant. We played two strings of bowling, plus ate two rounds of food and drinks (cheese sticks, nachos, fries, soda, chicken strips, etc.). The food was typical bar food but it is exactly what you'd expect at a place like this. The place was packed full of families but, it's so huge, we didn't have to wait for a lane. The staff was very friendly and joked around with us. They took mercy on us foreigners and taught us the rules of "real bowling". We had a fantastic time. I'm not sure why so many of the other reviews state that this place is so expensive. We were there for over two hours, paid for two games and shoe rental for 4 adults, plus ate a ton of food and spent about $50. We thought it was a great deal. I can't wait for my son to be older so we can take him here. Candlepin bowling is perfect for kids because the ball is much smaller. We had a great time watching and laughing at all of the kids having so much fun. read more

Very rude staff!!! This used to be a nice place to take the family. I went there with them last Sunday. We started bowling and ordered some food. It came out in dribs and drabs. The kids pizza took about 30 min. After an hour I was done bowling and still didn't have my pizza. I went to the bar and said that I wanted to cancel the order, it had been an hour and I was leaving. She got pissed and didn't want to cancel and mocked me. I went to the manager and told him what happened. He looked at me said yup and then turned and walked away! I was excited to come here and play in the glow in the dark bowling section and everything was fine until I knew how much everything was... they charge for everything, shoes, game, people per game. We've frequented Leda Lanes in the past, mainly because the prices were okay and it's the closest bowling alley to our house. When we went this Sunday, the place was pretty empty. We got our lane, were asked if we wanted shoe rentals which we politely declined because we brought our own, and proceeded to bowl. During our session, the sweeper stuck for long periods of time, which I tried to point out to the older gentleman behind the counter who just shrugged and proceeded to ignore us. When we finished and went to pay, we were charged $24. We had bowled 2 strings, and the posted price was $4.50 per string per person, which would bring the total to $18. When I pointed this out to the gentlemen, he stated "Well, you wouldn't pay for one ticket when you go to see a movie, would you?", like we were trying to rip him off. Rather than figure out why we were overcharged by $6 (which, granted, is not a lot), we just paid and left. Afterwards, we realized that he charged us for 2 pairs of shoe rentals, when he never even returned any shoes to him. He was the only one at the counter at that point. I do not appreciate someone trying to insinuate that I am ripping them off, so I will not be back. I'll drove somewhere a little farther away that isn't so run down and outdated. Leda lanes is an exquisite high class dining experience. We started with the pickles, fried to perfection. A sumptuous beginning to a wonderful three course meal. The main course, a hearty and meaty hotdog, served with a generous portion of ketchup, did a delightful tango on my palette.
