This place is truly a gem. We had passed this place for years always saying wow we should try that some time. So yesterday we finally went. The piano player was already going when we were seated. Super talented guy. We really enjoyed the piano music. For apps we had oysters and tuna tartare which were great. Entrees were Chilean Sea Bass and seafood linguine. They were really good as well. Service was excellent. The experience was much more like a high end restaurant with a piano than a bar. We're super excited that we found this place, we will definitely be back. read more

A valentines day dinner We made our reservation a month in advance and held it with a credit card for 25. we got there and was told there is another 25. for a door charge fee everyone had to pay it was for the piano player. our table wasn't ready we waited 15 then told we had 90 minutes to eat and leave the table as they needed to turn tables quickly. We ordered our food drink dessert all at once wolfed it down quickly I watched my watch so many times my Husband wanted for me to enjoy the meal but I was very nervous and wanted to follow the one hour and a half time at my table rule. No specials were read and no managers on sight. It's a nice dinning room and the food was good.The bus boy and girl were very nice too. read more

After hearing positive reviews from friends and online we took another couple to dinner. Ambiance was great and the place was decorated nicely. Food was good. Service was horrible. We were so embarrassed. It took 30 minutes to get our first drink, about an hour and half to get our appetizers and then they brought the dinner as we were still eating appetizers. The server didn't seem to care that we waited so long and didn't even realize we were still waiting for apps. Really a disappointing experience. Not sure if it was an off night or what but we won't be going back to determine if it was or not. read more

My wife and I have gone here about three times as we live two houses down from the piano bar. The first few times we had a great experience. Though we are moving out of the area and wanted to go one last time. we went on a Saturday evening and sat at the bar. We understood prices are a little more expensive but we paid $19 for a cocktail and another $20 for a dessert and we're shocked. The drinks were good just felt over priced. read more

My husband and I had a beautiful dinner at Lederacah Piano bar last evening. We were made to feel welcome by Sara, the owner, who is attentive to each guest and keeps a watchful eye on delivery of service and food. Both of us enjoyed a Caesar salad amd surf and turf. The filet, which was served with potatoes and zucchini, was by far the best piece of beef that I have had in recent years. Service was spot on and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. I am so torn between 1 and 2 stars but landed at 2. My wife and I were so looking forward to visiting the piano bar but left more than disappointed. The ambience is pretty cool. We pictured a piano playing some quiet jazzy sound or Sinatra era music in the background but what we heard was more sing a long - dueling pianos type music that really was too loud for the small size of the place. The menu was ok - nothing special - and well we wouldn't have flinched at the prices had we been in New York City or maybe center city Philadelphia. However for being LITERALLY in the middle of nowhere the prices were really out of bounds for the quality and portion size of the food. We ordered the charcuterie which was enough for one person. It was served on a small 6" board with a taste of the usual suspects. The sliders at $26 were TWO, 2 1/2" backyard burgers with nothing special at all (think White Castle only round). Yes I wrote TWO mini burgers for $26. The drinks were fine but also small for the cost. Two things that really cause me to feel a one star rating rather than two star are these two things. One, we asked for two glasses of $17 Malbec (note Malbec prices next time you go to a restaurant). We were told they were out of Malbec (on a Saturday night??) and owner suggested another wine that's her 'favorite'. We accepted figuring it would be a comparable price. We drank it and it was fine until we got the bill and noticed we were 'subbed' two glasses of $23 wine. I read other reviews about the wine bait and switch so choose your wine 'switch' carefully when presented with the 'we're out of...' scheme. Lastly and really the clincher is we reserved a table and were charged the noted but silly $25 reservation fee. When we arrived there were two seats at the bar and we decided to stay at the bar to eat. We clearly told the owner daughter Bianca and the hostess that we had a table reservation. They both insisted it no problem to stay at the bar which we did. Our bad was we didn't examine the check at the end of our experience closely enough (we were too fixated on the wine bait and switch) to notice the $25 reservation fee was not deducted from our near $150 bill (oh we had French fries too!). We didn't notice the non refund until we were home. My wife called the restaurant two times and was assured the fee will be refunded. Two weeks later I filed a dispute with my credit card because piano bar still has not refunded the fee. So, in the end you will go there despite this review but expect meh, expensive food and drink with loud singalong piano. Oh and make sure to choose your own wine sub and check your bill closely for the $25 res fee credit. Enjoy! read more

This is a beautiful little restaurant with a cool history. There was a band of 3 jazz musicians playing which was very nice. The service was very good and the food really is delicious and well prepared. There are a few downsides: 1- The prices are VERY high for the area. My husband and I had a 6 oyster appetizer and we each had a soup to go with the main dish which is small. Our bill came to $200 without the tip. 2- when you make a reservation there is a non-refundable $25 you must pay first. This is taken off your bill when you're at the restaurant when you settle up 3- The dining area is SO NOISY it is impossible to have a conversation using a normal tone of voice if at all. I am pretty soft when I talk and my husband had a very hard time hearing anything I was saying and we are not hard of hearing in the least. read more

It usually takes dining somewhere two or three times before you can leave an honest review, but there wasn't much information on the igloo dining experience here. So keep in mind, this was our only experience with this place. I booked one of the igloo's for a Valentine's Day dinner. We got to the piano bar but the table wasn't ready yet so we were offered a seat at the bar. Great experience, good drinks and very friendly bartenders. There was a mother and daughter at the end of bar that either owned the place or managed it and they seemed nice. The daughter was engaging and seemed to care. We ordered a few drinks and about fifteen minutes later we were being escorted out to our igloo. It was 29 degrees on Valentine's Day, but the space heater kept the igloo surprisingly warm. There was enough space to sit 6 people, but I think any more than 4 people would feel a little crammed. The igloo was decorated in hearts and white lights. There were a couple of fireplaces on stands outside of the igloo, I think mainly for the ambiance, I don't think they provided any heat. They also broadcast the piano player from inside the bar to a speaker inside of the igloo, which is a really nice touch. The food was good, and we all thought the appetizers were better than the main courses. The entree's are listed as "small plates", and the portion size was pretty decent. For the apps the three of us ordered Arancini, lettuce wraps and "two jumbo shrimp with five heart shaped ravioli". The jumbo shrimp were MASSIVE! But we all agreed, the best dish of the night were the lettuce wraps, they were incredible. For the entree's we ordered the Lederach chicken, the short rib and the Chilean sea bass. They were all decent, but nobody was overly impressed. We had a wonderful night and it was a pretty cool experience. My only complaint was the service was a bit slow that night. We were there for almost two hours and our drinks sat empty for a good part of that time. And after almost two hours in 29 degree weather, it did start to get a little chilly. Eventually I went inside to find our waitress and get the check. By the time I got back outside, the heater ran out of propane and the igloo was freezing! We were about to go inside to close out the check, but fortunately the waitress came out as we were walking in. It was a cool experience, and I would recommend trying it, but I think once was enough for us. read more

I don't think I can find words adequate enough to describe how happy I am with my experience at the Lederach Piano Bar. Exceptional barely touches the surface... My friends and I were staying next door in an AirBNB (The Loft @ Lederach- recommend as well) for a much needed Girls' Weekend and just dropped in for a drink. Stepping into the closed in porch warmed us on a dreary, wet day. As we entered the establishment we knew we would not be disappointed. Our senses were flooded -from viewing the classy, well appointed environment, to hearing the piano music, to smelling "deliciousness" coming from the kitchen. I knew instantly my only disappointment would be we had other plans for dinner and would only be there a short time. We did not have reservations (Silly us! It was Saturday at 6 pm!), however, there was plenty of room on the comfy cozy porch where we settled in and thoroughly enjoyed our specialty cocktails. The pear martini was divine!!! The owners arrived shortly after and stopped by to chat. What delightful women! After talking with them it is not difficult to see why the Lederach Piano Bar is so special and unique. They care... what a simple concept that many fail to possess. ​They have thought of every detail - big and small - to ensure their patrons receive an "experience" not just drinks or dinner. And THAT we did! I felt transported back to an era when people stylishly dressed (no pj bottoms here!) to go out and enjoy an unrushed, high-class evening on the town. Our first time going we sat right next to the piano and it was so loud it made it near impossible to hear each other but after a few drinks it was more manageable (probably because we continued to talk louder and louder). There was a decent sized chunk of mold on the Parmesan atop our fries and our server was sweet about it and offered to make us new ones but we didn't bother with that and just knocked the cheese off and picked around. Acknowledgement from management would've been a nice touch, especially since our bill was over $300 for the two of us and we still paid for the moldy fries. Regardless, I would still say the rest of the food was good but they are super small portions for NYC/Philly prices. Not very apropos for Harleysville, though. We're avid diners at fine establishments all over the olabut one time going here was enough for us. read more

This is a hidden gem! The music and singing were great, just need to be turned down a tad (we couldn't hear the waitress). Maybe some acoustic panels to help absorb the noise? We shared a meal with friends last week having never eaten here before. We have all eaten in fine restaurants throughout the states and my friend and I have over 50 years of hospitality management experience between us. But we are also happy in lesser establishments also as long as the food , service and ambiance are good. The decor and ambiance were as expected, a very nice nice job of renovating an historical property. We sat at 2 smaller round tables which were a little tight for sharing plates but we managed. The room was a bit noisy as it was 8 on a weekend which made for challenging conversation. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and 2 of the specialty which were very good. Our intent was to share a couple appetizers and then small plates. We had the flatbread pizza and smoked salmon spread to start. Both were well prepared and tasty. We then ordered the spring salad, pasta dish and 2 halibut plates. After a considerable wait the salad and halibut plates arrived but not the pasta. We originally thought it would follow shortly afterwards but did not. Maybe it was the noise in the room that was the cause for the communication issue for the missing plate. After my friends were offered a second drink I thought our server would ask my partner and I for another but that didn't happen. Once finished we were asked by what appeared to be the hostess/ manager how everything went and should have explained our total experience but didn't. I'm hoping this review might provide a better answer to our experience. I would not be against dining here again with the expectation the service would would be up to the standard of the menu and quality of the food. read more

Wanted to try something different and since this was near where I grew up, why not try it. Not worth the drive. We were seated at a tiny table for 2 and given menus. We loved the description of the drinks and ordered a smoked Manhattan and the wife had a pear margarita. The presentation was beautiful!! The drink was tiny though. The only pear taste was in the slice of pear floating. We ordered starters and went with the sliders(2 per serving) and the truffle fries ,sliders were good but once again tiny. Fries came out lukewarm. Service was hovering over the table and the bus boy was constantly asking to take items we weren't finished with. We ended up leaving and grabbing dinner elsewhere. 2 drinks, 2 appetizers , $88!!! Save yourself some money and eat elsewhere. read more
