My companion--a long time Harrisburg resident--selected Leeds on a recent evening as a meeting spot with friends staying nearby. It was a pleasant experience and we'll definitely add it to our "rotation" of establishments in that part of Harrisburg. We met our friends for dinner and drinks at the bar. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. We all ordered various lighter dishes (sandwiches etc) and all were pleased with our meal quality and portion size. Leeds looks rather nondescript from the outside but the inside is nicely decorated though old school decor. Leeds is great choice if you're staying at any of the nearby hotels. We were in town for several days, so both picked up and dined in on two separate occasions. For our pick up order, we had the fillet mignon Gorgonzola sandwich. The sandwich itself was actually really good. Fillet cooked as we requested medium rare and the Gorgonzola cheese spread was delicious. The fries that accompanied it were soggy and cold, very disappointing and actually inedible. Also, we were quoted one time for pick up and ended up having to wait over 30 minutes to just get the food so left and came back. When we dined in, we had the prime rib and chicken Parmesan. The prime rib was quite disappointing as it did not have a lot of flavor and the chicken Parmesan although huge was just OK. The staff, however, was amazing all the times we popped in and also when we dined. The interior is charming and really huge so it would be a great place to bring large groups of people. Decent "grown up" dining near our meeting hotel in Harrisburg. Very nice steak and fresh seafood options. Plus our one friend is vegetarian and she was happy with her choices too. My fresh halibut special super good, served with perfectly cooked broccoli. Two colleagues had different steaks. They enjoyed. Another had fresh seafood over pasta--also looked bountiful. Three had desserts including key lime pie. But the dessert hit was a gigantic serving of fried ice cream served in a tortilla bowl. Modern setting and tables spaced apart nicely. 100% I will return time after time for those oysters Louie. The most delicious oysters, bite-sized mouthfuls of taste explosion in your mouth. I seriously could eat three plates of these oysters. Enough about the app, the meal itself was delicious. Steak cooked perfectly, way too much food. The restaurant was extremely busy on a Friday night so plan ahead. Jeffrey, our bartender, is always pleasant and a pro at what he does. It is an expensive restaurant for dinner, but you get what you pay for. Get the oysters Louie if you like creamed spinach. Surprising that this restaurant wasn't very busy on a Saturday night! Service was excellent, and everyone in our party enjoyed their dinner. Appetizers were creative and delicious, just the right portion to start a meal. Portions were generous, and the prices were quit reasonable. The tables are large, with plenty of room without crowding. The high ceilings keep the noise level down, making for easy conversations. To top it off, the holiday decor is gorgeous! I was here for an event, so my review is skewed. Fried shrimp with coconut sauce and bruschetta were served during cocktail hour. The shrimp were very large, so large that I question where they were from. You don't even see shrimp that big at your local seafood store. For dinner we had our choice of filet mignon or a vegetarian eggplant dish. I went for the filet. The steak was mediocre. But I get it, you are serving 50+ people, it's not a fine dining restaurant, and your goal is consistency and speed. I have been here maybe 12 times in the last 2 years and I will say it is consistantly good. I have only had the fish and chips, burgers, and today deep fried ice cream! One thing I like is they have a table in the vestibule where someone puts uses paperbacks. Today i brought some Spenser and Louis Lamour and 90% of them had been taken by the time I left. I know this is a quirky thing, but it shows that the place isnt "corporate" and I like that. The waitress we had was excellent and parking is simple. This place feels old school. It was good. We had nine people and the service was stellar. Calamari-good, crab cakes looked better than they were, I had chicken parm with a side of spaghetti. Very good-a lot of food. Very nice decor, very nice. One issue, and it is compounded because it has an Italian bent, no pepper grinder. An Italian joint has to have pepper grinders and wine, missing one of these misses the mark. Hence four stars and not five. read more

Okay I'm kind of over this place. We had a large group come for a retirement party and they were great with accommodating our group in a private area with enough servers to take care of us. The food actually came out in a timely manner too. However that's where it now ends for me. I feel like they've lost their spark...if they ever had one. One phrase I would use to describe them now is "old fashioned". The food was not good. Every single person at our table didn't like their dishes. Chicken was dry. Fish was flavorless. And its pricey. I hate spending money on food that's poor quality. I personally got one of their specials a Bruschetta chicken. It was dry as a bone. SO dry. And the bruschetta was literally diced tomatoes on my dry chicken. NO flavor. Awful. And the drinks are pricey even at Happy Hour. So I wasn't so happy. lol. Another thing that really bothered me is that if we wanted to bring a cake they were to charge us a $2 per person cake cutting fee. I then asked if we could just bring cupcakes so there would be no cake to cut and they STILL said they'd charge $2 per person. This was a party not a wedding. Who does that anymore? So no cake for us. I am not paying them an additional $2 a head to eat my own cupcake. I think I won't return here unless someone invites me to come. I just can't anymore with this place. read more

This was my first time here and I wish I had tried it sooner! I ordered the seafood chemise and was so happy with my choice. Shrimp, scallops, and crabmeat with mushrooms in a cream sauce and that was all wrapped in phyllo dough---perfect! The roasted potato wedges were seasoned wonderfully. My mom ordered the burger which has filet and New York strip beef ground in house. The burger was tender, juicy and full of flavor and was served on a brioche bun. The waitress was friendly and recommended the fruit crepes for dessert. We were happy with her recommendation. The ambiance is very nice and has rich wood paneling. I will definitely be back to try more offerings. I didn't try any cocktails as I had wine with my meal, but they had a nice cocktail menu. Leeds seems like a great place to go for a nice dinner. In town for business, my co-workers and I stopped by Leed's. One person out of our group of three had been there a couple of times in the past and spoke highly of the place. We split two orders of crabcakes (one broiled and one deep fried) and the calamari. Cakes came two to an order, about the size of a hockey puck, with plentiful shredded crab (but no lumps). Both preparations were tasty, but the broiled was slightly better. Served with lemon wedge and tartar sauce. I only used lemon, but the two guys liberally applied tartar (it was sad to see). The calamari was a huge app, and also pretty tasty, served with warm marinara. Something in this dish had a nice spicy kick to it. I ordered the prime rib and scallop special. Prime rib, ordered medium rare, was only slightly pink and a bit tough. Bonus points for having horseradish (not just horsey sauce), and flavorful au jus. Four large scallops, pan seared - tasted fresh and sweet. Dinner came with a salad, very good mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley (blech). $33. My co-workers had the filet and fried shrimp combo and the salmon dish with spinach and a creamy gorgonzola sauce. I didn't try any of their food (they aren't my husband, so I can't just shove my fork in to their food), but the shrimp 'breading' was nice and light, and looked well seasoned. read more

I apologize in advance for the long review, but something absolutely has to be said about our recent horrible experience. My family and I have gone to Leed's for lunches and dinners over the past several years and we have always loved the food and the atmosphere. Since they have such a lovely room for private events, my mom had worked with Jonah and Brandy (who were both very helpful) with booking a room for my upcoming baby shower in March 2022. Even though they are currently short-staffed and aren't open for lunch on Saturdays, Jonah was willing to accommodate and hold the shower in the late afternoon, also allowing some time to decorate/set up. The shower was penciled into their schedule book--all that remained was to pick out menu items and pay a deposit. My mom and I went to Leed's the week between Christmas and New Year's to enjoy a nice lunch and to meet with Jonah to finalize things for the shower. When we arrived, Brandy told us that they were very busy with the lunch crowd, and we said we had no problem eating lunch first and then speaking with Jonah later. A woman who we had never met before (and who never introduced herself) came out of nowhere and told us very abruptly, "I don't have time to talk to you right now. We're extremely busy." We explained that we were there to talk with Jonah, and she stated that she was Jonah's mother and that she was the one who booked events. So, we were seated for lunch and Brandy took our drink orders. Jonah's mother (who still had not introduced herself or bothered to ask our names) sat down at our table with the schedule book. We told her that we had already booked with Jonah for March. When she saw the event time in the schedule book, she became very angry and said to us: "There is no way that you can have the event before 5:00. We have had so many people quit, no one is answering ads, and no one wants to come back to work. We are all exhausted and I can't ask anyone to come in any earlier than they already are. And I supposed you'll want to come in early to decorate? Well, there's no way that can happen." My mom and I were of course really surprised at her reaction and very confused about the change of plans. I said, "Maybe you should talk with Jonah because he told us one thing and you're telling us another." Jonah's mom stated: "Don't tell me how to run my business." Then, she closed the schedule book and said, "You know what? Go book somewhere else!" At this point, we of course were not going to stay for lunch either! We told her that we would take our business elsewhere and that we wouldn't be back. Jonah's mom said, "Just get out of here!" We saw Brandy across the room who came over to find out why we were leaving since she was waiting on our table. My mom and I told her quickly that she was very helpful with booking the shower, but that Jonah's mother told us to book somewhere else and that we also wouldn't be staying for lunch. Jonah's mother quickly came over to our table again and stated: "Get her out of here!" I attempted to call Jonah at the restaurant shortly after we left, especially since he was expecting us for an appointment; however, we were told that he had already left for the day and wouldn't be in until tomorrow. Later in the afternoon, my mom sent him an email since that's how she had been communicating with him. He did respond promptly and "apologized if his mom was short with us" and then went on to make the excuse that it's very stressful to own a restaurant right now and that everyone is tired from working long days. He also explained that with recent staffing changes, they would not have been able to open early for the shower. When was he planning to tell us about that? After we had paid a deposit? We are still in shock about being treated with such blatant rudeness, which was completely unprovoked. We were trying to give Leed's (a place we have always enjoyed) our business for this special event, and we were treated like we were a huge bother to even come in for lunch. Many businesses have been hit hard during COVID, but that doesn't excuse the rudeness and disrespect that we experienced. If this is how customers are treated, it's not a surprise that so many employees quit/got burned out, and not a surprise that they can't find more help! We will NEVER go back to Leed's; the whole experience is just very unfortunate. read more

I got the lump crab cake dinner with 2 sides because yelp reviews had really talked up those crab cakes. But honestly I felt they weren't big enough for the price & it was more of a shredded textured crab, not big chunks. They had a strange taste as well. But perhaps it was a different species. The cocktail sauce was awful & the tartar sauce was mostly mayo, hardly any relish. However the garlic knots were good. For the same price, the best cakes r in BWI at a place called G & M. Not much flavor, little cheese (none oozed over the bowl and had about a tablespoon of cheese in it) and looked to be wheat bread instead of real french bread or croutons. It was just plain bad. The person in my party who got a steak was pleased but hard to screw up a steak. The person who got a crabcake said it was just ok and my spaghetti with clams was salty and just ok. This place is beautiful inside! Very high scaled restaurant for sure. The food was alright. I didn't like the lamb, and the Chicken Dijon taste didn't stand out. Although, I loved the tuna with - I believe - was avocado in a martini glass, that was just outstanding, along with the Brushetta and Clams. The service, too, was excellent! The only negative things I can come up with is the walking areas. Inside the dining area (because there is a bar as well) you have to walk through the chairs of people, there's no pathway. Luckily we were against a wall and didn't have the traffic of people walking through us because that would be absolutely disturbing. The bathroom had 3 stalls. Also, the menu wasn't big enough for me. It had the option of chicken, seafood, or soups/salads, but the variety just wasn't satisfying. It was just difficult to choose. We went to Leeds because we had heard really good things about the food. I can't say that I was really impressed. The atmosphere is Ok but it looks as though it hasn't been updated since 1970. The food was only Ok for the prices charged which we thought were about 2 dollars higher than it should have been per entree. ( although it did include a salad ) Also they only have one option of vegetables. The night we went the sides were sweet potatoes and broccoli. Our thought was that this place caters to banquets and businessmen from the Sheraton and the Wyndham. My lovely wife added a star because she liked the waiter. I've eaten here several times and let me first say that the food is very very good. The atmosphere is very relaxing and elegant. The restrooms are very clean and all the staff are very nice. My only complaint about tonight's visit was how quickly all the food came out and how quickly I was finished with my meal. I hardly had time to sit my wine or have a sip of water before my main entree was served. My appetizer was the New England clam chowder which was very tasty. This was quickly followed by the salad and before I was finished the main entree came out. All told I was there no more than 38 minutes from the time I set down until the time I walked out. This place is tucked in the swatsra area andyou make a note of them seeing their bright lit up sign when going on I-283 to airport. However, every time I have been here, I have fallen in love with their seafood and steak preparations. Good dinner with great company A few of us went to Leeds for a company dinner and we did receive good service and I did like the eclectic acoustic music that was played. We had great drinks. The rolls were hot from the oven. I had the Tuna cocktail martini. the lime vinaigrette was awesome finish to the seared tuna and avocado. I also had the spinach salad with the warm bacon dressing. One of my colleagues had the scallops and had to be sent back for being overcooked, he ordered the four seasons which he said was absolutely great.
