I went to Leeland with a friend for brunch. It is a very cute house so it is a nice environment. You get in line to order food and drinks and pick your table. We both had the Leeland benedict and we shared their creme brule french toast. The food was very delicious and in the right portion size. To drink we both had cappuccino - which both were ok - and I had a mimosa ($3) and my friend had the bloody mary ($5). Those were good! And very good price! Service was very good. Drew (general manager) introduced himself to us which was very nice. He made sure everything was good. Also they had a Dj in their porch and Drew mentioned they have music every Saturday and Sunday which is a plus. Very good experience! Will definitely be back! read more

Nice spot for brunch if you're into the loud, bustling brunch scene in Houston. They have ample outdoor eating space in the front and like a back garden type set up. On a Sunday afternoon, there was live music that literally could have shattered eardrums. It's not my cup of tea. But cute. Opted to sit inside. The food was avg. Nothing fancy. Price was fair. I did not care for the way one ordered food. Had to go up to the cashier to place an order, then food was brought to you by servers. Be prepared to wait 30 to 45m for your food. It's not bad when you're in good company. Final gripe... There must have been some sort of bike or RV gathering??? Right in front. It was loud and obnoxious. The clowns (literally someone in a pink mask and wig) were totally obstructing the road and doing wheelies and other dangerous af stunts. We ordered the biscuits and croissants basket which was a great way to start off. The fig butter was delicious! We also ordered the prosecco punch (will definitely order again). It's basically a whole bottle of prosecco and a little fruit punch. Super delicious. Both my partner and I ordered the Leeland Benedict. I don't eat meat and the staff were happy to oblige my request that that the ham and bacon be left off. The bread was not a traditional English muffin but it was delicious nonetheless. Fantastic hollandaise! It was the star of the dish. The eggs were not as runny as one would expect, but the Benedict was tasty despite the over cooked eggs. First time here since the extension to the back area. Really nice vibe and diverse crowd. We sat on the front porch; which was cooler, less crowded, and no music. The back patio area was and music was legit. Went to the back bar area to order drinks. I got a white and a red sangria that were very refreshing. We ordered shrimp and grits, brisket hash, chicken biscuit, and the biscuit basket (the lil one was starving and they came out fast). Love this place's vibe! They recently opened back up since COVID. They have a pretty large patio with plenty of umbrellas. You order at the bar and they bring the food to you. Prices are very affordable. On Sunday's, they offer a live jazz band. I really enjoy the live music. I typically get their eggs Benedict dish which is pretty yummy. They do close early, so keep that in mind when making Sunday brunch plans. read more

First of all, dog friendly!! They have patio space front and back, but it's more like "gravel road" in the back... rocks got into my sandals for sure. Parking was kind of an issue, I've heard that cars do get towed if you park at certain areas. I parked kind of far from the restaurant bc I didn't know which area was safe to park. I think it would be nice if they had signs to where parking is allowed for the restaurant. I first sat in the front patio, but no one cleaned the floor since there was bacon and lettuce... Of course my dog tried to eat it, but I pulled him away before he could reach it. I then moved to the back patio, where it was more refreshing, and there was also a DJ! How cool! Service wasn't outstanding, very little interactions really. You have to go order your own food and water, but they bring out the food for you. I honestly came for the shrimp and grits, but they had no more!! Kinda bummed out, but it's okay.. ill come back for that some other time. Great food! Things to consider when eating at this restaurant... 1. its more of a self serve restaurant. You will get your own coffee/ water and you order at the bar. 2. Don't order the biscuits.. One for $8 and they don't taste homemade. If you are ok with the up and down service then the food here is good . They have both indoor and outdoor seating, with of parking space. Servers have been exceptional each time and even do they are always busy I have never felt rush. My friend and I stopped in for Sunday brunch after a weekend of soaking up the sun by the pool at the Marriott Marquis. We picked this place because we didn't want to mess with downtown parking and this location had a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. The menu here looked so good, we had trouble deciding what to get. One of the regulars recommended the hashes and we were NOT disappointed! My friend got the sweet potato hash and I got the brisket hash. We both cleaned our plates. The drinks were also delicious. I had the flat white and she had a mocha. Service was excellent and the vibe on the patio was very laid back. It was the perfect ending to a restful weekend! Will definitely be stopping back by here to try the rest of the menu. read more

My only draw back was not being directed and after trying to order they tell me the menu is on the QR code was on the table. Everything else was self service. I see why ads for Leeland House kept popping up on my phone. I love Sunday brunch and I am now a fan of Leeland House! I've driven by this place many times and didn't even realize it (it's two doors down from District 7 Grill). My friend made a reservation for six and I'm glad that she did because the inside seating is really small. We actually had push some tables together so we would have enough space. The backyard/patio situation is awesome! It was a beautiful day so after we ate, we ended up getting drinks and heading to the back. The DJ was fantastic! I ordered the Boss BLT and added scrambled egg. It took forever for my food to come out. My friends that ordered after me (it's counter service) got their food before me. We had to ask a couple of the employees where the order was. It finally came out and boy was it good. It came out nice and hot too so it wasn't sitting in the kitchen waiting to be served. The sandwich was really good, but I had to use a fork and knife to eat it because it was a lot! The ladies and I had many carafes of the Candace mimosa. She won't tell you what's in it but it's some sort of mango or pineapple juice with possibly grenadine. It creates a pretty gradient/ombre effect. I honestly don't know how many we had, but we definitely had a good time! They have a teeny tiny parking lot that seriously has 4 or 5 spaces. I parked in a lot across the street (for free). There's also street parking. And as everyone else mentioned, lots of murals and graffiti art in the area for the perfect photo op! My boyfriend and I saw this on IG from secrethouston and decided to come here for my birthday. It was a rainy day so my boyfriend dropped me off at the front of the restaurant while he found parking at a nearby lot which he paid $10 for. I got to the bar and was greeted by a sweet lady who told me that you can sit wherever and order here at the bar. They will bring the food out to you. The place was quite crowded and small but I managed to find a table at the front entrance. I later found out when using the restroom, they have additional seating in the back where the DJ plays and is shared by the other neighboring restaurant. The menu is by QR code placarded on the table along with a number. I had the Leeland Benedict while my boyfriend ordered Hutchins Patty Melt. We both drank strawberry lemonade which was quite refreshing. For a Sunday brunch, the food came out fast, shockingly quickly after we ordered. I enjoyed my plate and the only thing missing was dressing for the greens. My boyfriend's sandwich was ok to him for he thought the meat wasn't seasoned enough. I went with a friend for a weekday brunch today and both of us were pretty disappointed. You order at the bar and aside from someone delivering your food to the table, there is no service. Nobody came to check on us at all once the food was delivered. We ordered the cauliflower, biscuit basket, brisket hash, and creme brulee French toast. The cauliflower was disappointing because the breading wasn't crispy at all, and the cauliflower was undercooked. The biscuits were warm and fluffy, but the jam was pretty flavorless, although it seemed homemade. The brisket had was the best thing we ordered and the only thing we ate all of. The creme brulee French toast was the biggest letdown of all. We both love French toast and creme brulee, but this dish was a terrible representation of both. It was dry and just tasted life cinnamon bread. We left 75% of the food we ordered on the table, which is disappointing after spending more than $80. I also ordered an iced matcha latter with pistachio flavor which was very good and probably my favorite thing of the whole meal. Will not be back unless I'm picking up a matcha latte to go read more

I love going to this place for a good brunch meal. This was my third visit and it was quite delicious yet again! I've had the brunch hash, shrimp and grits, and, most recently, the Leeland Benedict. My favorite has to be the Benedict thus far with the shrimp and grits coming in a close second. You do have to find your own table which can be quite hard during the busier times. My bf and I ended up sitting on the back patio which was fine but there as only one umbrella covering a single table. There's not a ton of staff check-ins after your food is delivered so you'll have to go up to the counter if you need something. This inside is quite tiny so I wouldn't recommend this place for large groups read more

No complaints about the food- I had the creme brûlée French toast and it was delicious. The only down side for me was that they don't have waiters to take your order & check on you. You order at the bar, pay, & the food gets dropped off to you. You get your own water from carafes at the bar, etc. not particularly my favorite way, but they weren't too busy so it didn't take long. This place was actually pretty cool and in a good location. It's directly across the street from a mural that seems to be a desired location for photographs. So much so, that I had to scurry across the street and ask some "photographers" to refrain from leaning and actually sitting on the new car that belong to one of my paranoid fellow researchers. On to the food: 3 of us met for brunch and all opted to get something different. But we did agree to get some carafes of mimosas. Of course, the place also uses some cheap champagne. It's so cheap that the down town Specs keeps it in the very back corner, on a bottom shelf of the store. I opted for shrimp and grits, something I never indulge in as I think it's a simple and somewhat unappealing dish that people who are not adventurous opt for. However, the pics and rave reviews peaked my interest. Man, that cheese and those grilled shrimp are absolutely great. My other research friends also enjoyed their food. I love brunch. It's probably my favorite thing to do on a weekend morning, especially when the mimosas are flowing. Unfortunately, I just wasn't feeling it this day and wish I could have enjoyed it more. The concept is seat yourself, order and pay up front and have someone deliver to you. This works for smaller, less busy establishments, but made the whole atmosphere way too chaotic. There is barely any indication that that is how the whole system works. Inside seating is nice, but cramped. In July, the outdoor seating was far too hot to even consider. I ordered the quiche of the day. It was large and vegetable-y. It had a nice flaky crust on it. Requisite green salad for decoration. Others at the table were far more satisfied (again - i was feeling pretty sick at this point). The French toast looked great, a perfect sized portion and not overly sweet. One of the poached eggs/bacon dishes looked great. Man, I was craving some eggs Benedict, but just couldn't stomach it. And of course the mimosas were awesome and I didn't get to enjoy them at all. I would go back for a round two, but go earlier and with a smaller crew. And without a stomach ache. read more

I've been in the East End for a couple years. Its important for new places to be inclusive of the populations that live around them. I have mixed feeling about how unwelcome the service made me feel. I feel bad for the Chef his food deserves better service. I went today for lunch excited about the menu and notice the place was sparse. I took a glance at the menu and decided on Keep Calm & Curry On Sandwich. I waited for service and soon a group of 4-5 white guys came up next to me. The staff who had seen me wait attended this group and I stood there in semi disbelief. She had a small chat and I thought well maybe she'll just attend one and then myself. She attended all 4-5 and one of the guys looked at me uncomfortably and whispered sorry. I hope they address these microaggressions because the food was more than decent. I'm 9 months pregnant. They weren't carrying anything or working at the moment. Just being rude/inconsiderate and saying hi to each other. Inside staff is hit or miss as well. Sometimes ok, sometimes rude and won't look at you when ordering. Cleanliness of dishes is usually an issue. Get disposable cups for coffee/tea because their mugs are always stained or just downright dirty. Food is decent. Come really hungry. The only complaint for a lot of the dishes was it was a bit on the saltier side. Especially the shrimp and grits because of all the cheese.
