A great place to grab authentic korean food! The prices here are super reasonable with big portions! I loved the seafood pancake and rice cake appetizers here! The service is fast and location is very clean and relaxing.

I've been wanting to try Lee's for a while. It's located under one of the office buildings. Plenty of parking around the building! When I walked in, they were busy! People were waiting for a table. Mostly families here. Thankfully, my friend got there before me and was already seated. We went ahead and ordered barley tea to share and a few entrees: japchae, soondubu jjigae, and bibimbap. We waited an HOUR for the food! I was pretty hungry. Not sure if they were short-staffed but it was a bit frustrating, especially for how busy they were. The food was just okay. It tasted good, but not traditional. It seemed like they toned down the flavors to suit the audience. Not as much sesame oil or even enough of the tang in the kimchi. Our barley tea tasted like it was on its fifth steep. Too watery. We did enjoy the banchan. You could tell they were also toned down but they weren't bad. If you've never had Korean food, you should try this place. But it's just not going to be on par with Kum's or other spots in town.

I love how hot the clay pot keeps the soup when they come in. I always get the tofu stew with comes with shrimp. It's very filling due to the quatity and of the sides. My favorite is the soy peanuts.

Superb service, nice atmosphere, and delicious food recommendations from my server! Vegetarians! Non-vegetarians! Try the Kim Chee tofu appetizer and the entree with sweet potato noodles! You're welcome! It was also my first time trying Korean tea and I love it! Smells and tastes so good! So comforting on this cold, winter night. I can hardly wait to try their other vegetarian dishes!

Service is good. Servers are nice. I ordered Galbi Tang soup and Galbi sizzling platter. I expected way more of the soup because at other Korean restaurants, this soup would have so much flavor. But this soup was very bland. The short rib is good but just way too bland. Galbi sizzling platter was good. Flavor is correct and food came out hot and fresh. Only issue is the portion size. Only 4 ribs for an entree The banchan side dishes were as expected.

Location is at the bottom of an office building. Very easy to get to and lots of parking. I will say you probably want to make sure you read and understand the menu before you go or at least have some understanding. They may struggle to understand you and you them. They were very friendly though. We started with the beef egg rolls. The beef was like the cuts of steak and were sweet like they may have been from the bulgogi dish. I thought it gave the egg roll nice flavor. There wasn't a lot of beef in it though. Wish there was more. There were a lot of vegetables inside. I wasn't expecting the celery and could've done without that but still good. I would get them again. We got Rajogi and Jajangmyon. Rajogi was kind of a sweeter soy sauce base. I thought it tasted good, but my son wanted more of sweet and sour but was steered away from the sweet and sour chicken because of the fruit that is cooked into the sauce. The lunch portion was massive. It was so much food as you see in the picture. It also comes with 6 side items in the small bowls. I had the Jajangmyon. Couldn't taste beans really but it seemed to have an eel sauce or soy sauce in it maybe. Really good flavor though. I will definitely come again.

I liked the portion size. They were generous with the seafood in my stew. Flavor was good. I like the banchan dishes. Server was attentive.

I forgot how much I love this place. It is tucked into the bottom of an office building off of Bishop Lane. And if you didn't know it was here you might not ever find it.! The stone be bimbop is amazing as is any of their kimchi choices such as the kimchi pancake ! I would recommend going early as the place can get crowded. The wait staff is very helpful and can help you make a good choice if you cannot choose from the many different options that are available.

My favorite Korean restaurant in town! Service is fantastic, there is free parking and the food is consistently good. For our appetizer we had the Kim Chi Pancake which is pretty good and last time we tried the Deep Fried Won Ton. For our entree we had the Hot Stone Bibimbap and the Bulgogi which were delicious! The previous time we came here we had the Galbi-Tang and that was also good. Needless to say, I will be back!

We really enjoyed this place! Located at the bottom of an office building (would love to work at that building!), it can be easy to overlook, but definitely worth the effort to locate. There's quite a bit of seating inside, with a variety of booths and tables. The decor is simple and tasteful, with lights sort of dimmed to create a nice ambiance. The service we had was wonderful, no complaints in that department whatsoever. We really liked our food! We started with a kimchi pancake as an appetizer, which I really need to learn how to make, these are delicious. The texture is very pleasantly chewy and I like the savory kick of the kimchi. For our entrees we got a hot stone bibimbap bowl and a stew. The stew was nice and filling, and we liked how crunchy the rice that was making contact with the stone got. Overall, this is a solid Korean spot, and we'd definitely come back and recommend it!

    Dolsot bibimbap, spicy pork, jajangmyeon

Atmosphere: the restaurant is in an office building, and one could tell from the inside that the dinning rooms are basically just another office/meeting room in this building. They just added some new lights to the ceiling without bothering to remove the long office lights. There is minimal Korean decoration. I was a tad disappointed coming in, but it is not uncommon for Asian restaurants to be a total hole in the wall and can still be good, so I held my judgement. Food: this is the main reason for the low ratings. Given the high Yelp ratings I was expecting at minimum H-mart food court quality (for anyone not familiar to H-mart, it is a Korean grocery chain in the US, and these markets often would have small restaurants in it, similar to a food court at the mall or airport). Alas, it turned out to be quite disappointing. We ordered the most basic dishes, kimchi pancakes, jajangmyeon, dolsot bibimbap, and spicy pork stir fry. All on the dry and bland side. The spicy stir fry pork was quite atrocious, I really dont understand how one messes up spicy pork since it is very basic to cook. Maybe they used the wrong cut of pork? Maybe they forgot to add gochu garu (pepper flakes)? The kimchi pancake took a long time to come out (45 min), but it was thick so that could explain the cooking time. When I asked for dipping sauce the wait staff looked at me like I was from another planet. Then they gave me some soy sauce, LOL! For those not familiar with dipping sauce, it is usually a simple soy sauce and rice vinegar, with some added sugar, sesame oil and some toppings like green onions, sesame seeds etc. You dip the pancakes and dumplings in. Very standard. Some restaurants would put sauce sauce and vinegar on the table for guests to mix their own dipping sauce. We enjoyed the bibimbap with beef (after adding a lot for gogujang), and the jajangmeon while not great was sufficient to satisfy my noodle craving. Lastly, the ban chan. These are the "free" side dishes that are provided with very meal in Korean restaurants, so to me, it is a way to understand the restaurant's approach to food. I have had some rare experience of excellent ban chan where I once begged them to sell me some to go, but i don't expect all dishes to be that good. Again, this is where Lee fell short in my opinion. Half the dishes were very minimal and bland. The kongnamul muchim was done in the classic style (vs spicy version), but usually it should still be flavorful with sesame oil and fresh garlic and onions. Here, it was the blandest, most flavorless sprouts I have ever had! Is it even possible to mess up blanched bean sprouts? Did they use old sprouts? Did they forget to add salt? Did they substitute canola for sesame oil to cut down on cost? I really have no idea. Service: I have low expectation for Asian restaurant service because the servers get paid a wage and they don't get tips unless you hand cash directly to them. But i expect to be able to wag one down when service is needed. Here the servers come out really rarely that it was hard to even find someone to call out. Food took a really long time, 45 min for our pancakes and another 30 min for the rest of the dishes. Overall, with subpar food with more misses than hits, the poor service and lack of atmosphere was the last straw that broke the camel's back. We won't be back.

I really enjoyed the hospitality of everyone who works here! We were quickly seated and were provided with tea in addition to the waters that we ordered! I really love tea so this was a nice touch :) I didn't realize this restaurant was in an office building so that was very interesting to me! Once you're in, it just feels like a restaurant lol. The lighting was pretty low which I think some people may like. It made me a little sleepy especially after eating all the food lol. I think the food was okay overall. I had the japchae and it was good. If I were to come back I would order it again or order the bulgogi.

    Spicy Soft Tofu Stew

Lee's Restaurant is probably the best place for Korean food in Louisville. Don't get too excited though, there isn't much good Korean food in Louisville. But to be fair, I am Korean and so my standards are pretty high. I got the spicy soft tofu stew. The food was good, definitely worth going out to eat. There isn't much good Korean food in Louisville, but if you're wanting a proper Korean meal, Lee's is probably the place to go. They also give you a lot of side dishes with the meal which are actually very good. I had 2 orders of their side dishes because it's really quite good. The environment is nice as well. The servers are nice and it's a spacious place where you can go alone or with a group. It's quite dim in the restaurant, but that sets the vibe if you enjoy that. Lee's is a solid option for Korean food that is reliable in a city lacking in good Korean cuisine. There might be better options if you're looking specifically for Korean BBQ or snack foods, but Lee's is the place to go for regular Korean meals. Except for my house!

The results were mixed. We did the grill table and had appetizers. The apps were AMAZING! The pot stickers, the salad, the spicy edamame, all yum. The meat for the grill was basted in a wonderful marinade and you had a choice of having the kitchen grill it or doing so at your table. We chose to do it ourselves. The waitress brought us scissors with the meat...! The cuts were really too thick and/or wide and I was wondering why the kitchen would send them out so we would still have to cut raw meat with scissors at the table? Also, the only veggies that came with the meal were chunks of green peppers and a few rings of onions. We had asked about more but those were it. The dessert was shaved something in coconut milk. Not very memorable. They did hold the dairy for our lactose free person so maybe that would have made a difference? Because the apps were so good I'll go back and try their other items, but probably not the grill table.

Milkwood was our anniversary go-to; tonight Nami picked up that role. Our server Jay was incredibly friendly and helpful. He explained everything on the menu, giving us recommendations and guidance, and then left us for a bit to think it through. By the time he came back to check in, we were ready to order our whole meal. We started with a complimentary champagne toast for our anniversary...always a lovely touch. Then we had our two cocktails, the wasabi margarita and the lychee martini. Both were so delicious we couldn't choose, and ended up sharing them both entirely. Next came crispy chicken dumplings (that we ate before I could even get a photo) and the amazing ponyu, a thick scallion and vegetable pancake (got a photo of the last slice. We couldn't stop eating it!). For our mains (most of which came home with us, tbh), we ordered the crispy skin snapper with delicious fried rice and the Kalbi beef short ribs from the bbq menu. The bbq comes with 2 sauces and 3 housemade banshan side dishes. Everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. There's nothing on the menu that I don't want to try. We love sharing so that we can taste it all! This will definitely be our anniversary spot...but I don't think I'll wait a year to return.
