Lee's hosted a 50 cent Corona special while the rest of the local Baltimore businesses were closed for Coronavirus concerns. A global pandemic is happening and they defended the decision to pack their bar full of people on social media. I saw yesterday they were serving drinks to people picking up carryout, who were all hanging out in front of the bar... I can't support a business that shows negligence like this. It's not fair to the other businesses that are struggling during this pandemic. It's not fair to the other Baltimoreans who give a s*** about themselves and their family. How is their food? Live WORM squirming in my oysters!!....sure this may come with the territory of oysters, but when I brought this to the attention of the waiter, there was no acknowledgement that this could be an unpleasant experience, and instead I was told the worms are there to clean the up the oysters, without any apology or willingness to make things right. My quick search of the web demonstrated that poor quality/not food-grade oysters that are stored unsafely, damaged, or have open shells before shucking are most likely to harbor these worms. Will not be returning and others should think twice before ordering oysters from a place that does not practice strict food hygiene. read more

I came here for a Facebook event. That's another story. I peeped the menu and realized I needed to try this place again and give it a fair shot before I gave any judgement. So after a few friends had been and swore it wouldn't be like that event I returned and it wasn't. This is a pretty warm neighborhood bar. Parking is trash but when is it not in this area? They have alot of daily specials here and a pretty extensive bourbon bar. Not my thing but, if you are into bourbon check it out. They also have oysters. I had mussels and truffle fries. Want too hungry, but I knew I needed some food. This hit the spot. I want to try the fish and chips or the lobster special. Great, no-frills food with relatively mediocre drinks, but I'm more of a food girl, so overall 4 stars. I stopped by Lee's Pint and Shell after a long day in the hospital, and ended up ordering a drink and a few plates. For the food, we ordered Fish and Chips, Steamed Shrimp, and Crap Dip, and for my drink I tried the Kentucky Mule. All the food was great. Fish and Chips was probably my favorite - the batter on the fish was wonderfully crispy and light, and the fish was very moist. The fries were also very well cooked. The crab dip was a little heavy but rich, creamy, and addicting. The steamed shrimp was standard but had good flavors. The drink was disappointing - it tasted watered down, with the harsh taste of alcohol not well balanced by the other ingredients. However, it was good to have with my meal and it was cheap. Service was good and attentive at first, then slowed down painfully near the end (it was near impossible for us to get our check). However, food came out at a reasonable pace and our waitress was friendly. Would go back for the food. read more

Lee's is a great happy hour spot. They have two bars--upstairs and downstairs--and it's big enough that even with a big group you can usually find a table without having to wait long. They also have heaters outside with sidewalk seating, which is nice in the spring and fall. As far as food, Lee's does the job. It's not the most revolutionary cuisine but I find their food tasty and definitely priced appropriately. For example, my group ordered fish tacos, a seafood platter, soup, a quesadilla, and a chocolate lava cake and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Ultimately, it's glorified bar food, but if that's what you're on the market for, it's definitely above average. Lee's is a spot where you go to drink but know that you can end up getting dinner too, and it will be pretty good. As far as drinks, they have a good beer list. I lived in Spain for a couple months and found their sangria to be above average. The one setback was that a person in our group ordered an Irish coffee that was lukewarm. We always stay because the music is loud and fun (lots of good throwbacks!) and the drinks are cheap. If this is what you're seeking, look no further. read more

Arrived at 1250am and bartender said we already called last call, but we can get you only one drink. Then they proceeded to harass us every 10 minutes to that we are closing while they did shots with other customers after last call several times. Well, I guess last call gets extended when you're a bartender though. They finally got their wish; we finished our drink at 125am. By the way they are open until 2am and they are pushing us out at 1am. I would stay away from this place in the future as the rules don't apply to them. read more

This is a great local hangout with friends. If you're going solo not totally sure I would recommend but on a beautiful day/night Lees is buzzing with people. Especially during their bi-annual Shuckin in the Streets when they close down the block for a party. There's a band, all you can eat oysters, and drinks that'll get you drunk. There's a small donation to enter but it's absolutely worth it. Otherwise, come here on a game day and try to grab a table outside (they have outdoor heat lamps for when it's chilly). If you don't grab a table outside, no worries because they have garage doors on all sides that open the restaurant/bar up to the outside. On their menu they have little recommendations for their most popular items. I haven't tried much beyond the oysters, pizza, and tacos but I would get all of those again. They also have the staple summer drink of this region, the orange crush, and a healthy beer selection. The food is pretty good! I went with a couple of friends and we got the chicken tacos and the chipotle hand-cut fries. I also got the Lee's Berry Breeze Cocktail. The chicken tacos were delicious; they have BBQ sauce and ranch on them, and the chicken is fried, so they're a bit different from your regular chicken tacos. The chipotle fries are also really good. really REALLY liked my buffalo calimari from this place. I was craving good seafood and fries and and I was not craving calamari at all but I loved it so so much and had leftovers for the next day. My boyfriend and sister got burgers and they enjoyed them. We got truffle fries and corn for the table to split. The corn left something to be desired but the fries were very good, a good size to share, and vegetarian (yay!) we loved the fries. 50c oysters during happy hour?! Can't beat that!! My only comment is that I kept getting bits and pieces of the shell in my mouth, which was kind of annoying. I also wish that they had the onion and vinegar dipping sauce in addition to the cocktail sauce. The $5 buffalo pizza was really good; one person can eat the whole thing or if you're in a group of 4, each person can get a slice. The duck nachos were also pretty decent! It was definitely not like your typical nachos you would get at other sports bar. Also tried their chipotle fries! It was A LOT of fries and they were all crispy and not soggy, and well seasoned. Although for the price, it could be a tad lower in my opinion. The beer selection was pretty good and was $2 off if you made it for Happy Hour. The service was awesome ! We had alex as our server and she was great. I really really appreciated her service, it's rare now a days to get great service. She was very attentive and so sweet. I know this is silly but I appreciated it so much that hen we got out food she asked if we needed any dipping sauce. Most places if you ask for any sauces I feel like the servers get so annoyed. I just really loved her service. The food was great came out fast and hot the portions were big. The atmosphere is really nice and they have an upper deck seating with a bar which was really cool. We opted to sit outside despite the wind/chill and were greeted by our server Tyler, promptly. During happy hour all drinks are $2 off and they have 50 cent oysters. I opted for a beer and she opted for an orange crush. The draft list, while not extensive had a good selection. We ordered the happy hour oysters which were from Delaware that day. The crush came and was well made, not too boozy and with the perfect ice chip style crushed ice that makes it a Baltimore classic. The oysters were fresh and of reasonable size, especially for the price point. We also ordered duck nachos, which were decent, but seemed to be more chip than anything else. They weren't particularly memorable and I'm not sure we'd order them again. As the sun started to set, the staff brought out outdoor heaters and made sure to sit one next to us to keep us warm. They have a great oyster happy hour, where oysters are only 50 cents each. The oysters are nice and plump, which was a plus given the price point. Drinks were strong too! Docking a star because the po boy sandwich I got didn't have much flavor. It was very big, but was mostly stuffed with wet lettuce shreds so that took away from the taste of the overall dish. Happy to have this awesome new seafood place to the neighborhood! I went on a Thursday around 5:30PM. The bar was full, but plenty of table space. By 6:30, there was a line out the door and people were sitting at the outside tables with giant heat lamps. Our waiter, Zed, was super cheerful and very attentive. Thursdays include all night happy hour ($2 off drafts). We also had Oysters during happy hour. This night they had 4 choices, $2, each, but the happy hour ones are only 50 cents. And they were cold and delicious. Another plus of this new place was the beer was VERY VERY COLD! So thanks! Okay. At first this place wasn't my cup of tea... It was packed and there was a wait... But two spots opened up at the bar, so we slid in as quick as possible. The crab cake was enormous and full of flavour. I would give a strong recommendation to anyone in town to visit this place on the food and the environment alone... She maintained rapport with all of the guests while giving seeming one on one attention to each of us. Went here for NYE with my date. The bar has just been re-done and the artwork is thematic and fantastic. My boyfriend and I were quickly attended to at the back of the bar and received drinks quickly. Drinks were happy hour prices for the evening which was great. I would highly recommended the crushes made. I had two grapefruit crushes and a lemon crush while I was there and they were all super tasty. A crush can easily be ruined with too much alcohol or not enough flavor, but each was appropriately strong and flavorful. My boyfriend got a beer, Dragons Milk, which is a favorite of ours and the price was great for happy hour. He also got a Margarita that was a little in the strong side. Out Bartender (a guy and I am totally blanking on his name) was great. Around 11 the bar got slammed and he was still able to talk to my boyfriend and I about our plans and our evening. Love this place! Lee's has an awesome selection of beer but their food is great too! Their fries are amazing. Huge portions so they are shareable. We tried the lamb and crab cake kind and both were awesome. Best to eat with a fork though. I don't think you can go wrong here. I loved their fish and chips. I've been to Lee's a few times since it opened last year and it's a great addition to the neighborhood! It has kind of a beach bar feel with large garage-door windows that can be opened up when the weather is good. It is always packed (which is a good sign!) but I do want to comment that the acoustics aren't great and it can be hard to hold a conversation inside without shouting. So far everything we have tried there to eat has been delicious. I am especially a fan of the fries with different toppings (pulled pork, crab dip, chipotle, etc.). We came here last night to celebrate cinco de mayo (3 hour wait at Nacho Mamas not doing it for us) and ordered the duck nachos, fish tacos, and pulled pork tacos. I found the tacos to be a little "wet" but the flavors were really good and we enjoyed them. They also had margaritas on tap! And we've been happy with the draft beer list in the past. I went many times and up til 5/16 they changed the happy hour menu but it didn't state that on the menu. Charged 60 bucks for 24 oysters that were supposed to be 18 bucks. Well, this is my first time back in about a year. The oysters sucked then, and they still suck now. This is supposed to be Baltimore, the place to go for fresh seafood. If that's what you are after, this is not the place. I eat lots of oysters and like when oysters are on happy hour. The local happy hour oysters they serve were very small and looked as if they had been shucked hours ahead of time. They didn't look fresh at all. I was greeted immediately as I walked in and was promptly given a menu and told about the specials by the hostess. I sit there for about 7 minutes. Then a couple comes in, and a waitress walks past me and immediately brings them water and takes their order. I sit another 5 minutes, and no one comes, so I move to the bar for service. The bartender took my order for 18 oysters and a magarita. The Margarita was good, but they only brought out 12 oysters, I had to ask for the other 6. I even had to ask for horseradish and hot sauce since now came out with the oysters. I have been here 3 times total. All 3 times a felt the same way when I left. Why did I waste my time and money. I thought that after a year, things would be different. I was wrong, and I am not seeking to waste any more time or money on this place. It is to many restaurants that actually have great service and great food in Baltimore. read more
