I was quite pleased to find out that there's a Lee's sandwiches here in Pasadena. I found it rather amusing that this location used to be a Quiznos. Either way, there's no other place that you can find pretty good tasting sandwiches on 10" baguettes for about $3. I tried the BBQ Pork and found it quite satisfying. I am however a bit disappointed in the amount of meat in the sandwich. It felt like I was eating bread more than a sandwich on some bites. Oh dear. I was so excited that I was about to start working for a company that was within walking distance of a Lee's Sandwiches. I was a little concerned about the mediocre reviews. How could a Lee's be mediocre? Well, it is. The bread is DA BOMB. But the grill pork in the banh mi was (a) cold (b) old and (c) in short supply. Considering (a) and (b) above, maybe (c) wasn't such a bad thing. Still, I like meat in my banh mi and this was pretty awful. And my stomach did have issues some time later. I hope they can someday raise their standards up to the rest of the chain, but I'm not sure I'm going to find out anytime soon. read more

This is one of the best lunch spots in town with fresh delicious baguettes and the pickled turnipa and carrots in the sandwich were delicious. Okay so I like the owner. Super nice guy who puts up with a lot of crazy people. I love the egg rolls and chicken wings. You can also get French bread that lasts only the day you buy it. But it is amazing. So good and soft and yummy. The sandwiches for breakfast to me are better than for lunch. However. It's cheap and tastes pretty good boba drinks are a tad too sweet but satisfy the urge. I dunno. I don't expect much when I come to a deli style restaurant. But it's consistent and never disappoints. I love how people complain it takes too long for certain things and how we are in the financial district blah blah blah. Order ahead..... Duh. This Lee's is a textbook example of how not to run a franchise. Lee's brand should be a guaranteed winner with their awesome food and coffee, so it is confusing how this store gets it so wrong. As other posters have mentioned, it's slow, dirty and inconsistent, but for some reason we keep coming back once or twice a year to see if its improved or changed management. Today was the last straw when I got the grilled pork vermicelli and noticed a few bites too late that the pork was not cooked and/or rancid (smelt bitter if that makes sense). I brought it back and when my wife asked for a refund on it as well as her sandwich (trust was lost at that point), the manager gave her grief and complained that she had "worked hard" to make our food. She refused to give her name, so there clearly wasn't much pride/confidence in her "hard" work. The extra 20-30 minutes to Rosemead is worth every second if you need your Lee's fix, especially if you consider potential time lost with an upset stomach or worse. read more

I was happy when they opened a Lees Coffee in Pasadena because I enjoy their iced coffees and sandwiches but after visiting this location for over 15 times I am not going to be returning. The service is really slow. It took well over 10 minutes to make me an iced coffee with no costumers in the store. I've tried calling ahead of time to pick up orders only to find out they haven't even started on the order, when I get there. On the last visit I waited almost 10 minutes to make an order in the front counter, I got tired of waiting I asked how long to place and order for an iced coffee, the employee stated that they were busy so I walked out. I suggest that anyone who wants Lee's, go to the one in Alhambra I have never waited over 5 minutes for any order there. read more

Even after reading all the horrendous reviews, I decided to give Lee's the benefit of the doubt. But it was just as bad as everyone said it was. It was so hard to communicate with the owner. I went up to the counter to order and he was talking on his phone. I asked him question and he still proceeded to talk, as if I wasn't even there. I ordered 2 sandwiches and he managed to ring it up as he continued to talk on his phone... As far as the food goes, it was just as bad as the costumer service. The sandwich was to hard and gave me cuts on the roof of my mouth. I got Lee's coffee with Boba and the Boba must have been 5 years old. IT WAS DISGUSTING!! It was hard and mushy. If you've never had bad Boba, this is the place to get it. Trying to judge fairly, the coffee was fine. It was just more ice than coffee. The sandwiches were nothing special. My advice: it's on the mediocre side so you can try it esp. Because the prices are good, but everything else was a 1 star ranking. read more

I like their sandwiches, especially #5 one (grilled pork). However, the service is very slow and inefficient. On one occasion, after placing an order and waiting for thirty minutes, me and two of my coworkers asked for money back and walked out. On another occasion, over a month later, it took over 20 minutes to get my sandwich. It was sitting in the "ready" area behind the counter but the cashier did not call it out. When I asked about it after they started calling order numbers well past mine, he had no idea that that ready sandwich was mine because their order printer was printing very faintly and he could not read what the order receipt said. People making sandwiches move ridiculously slowly for a fast food restaurant. On the first occasion, the restaurant was out of grilled pork, but neglected to tell me when I was ordering a sandwich with it. If the wait is long, they do not announce it or apologize for it to the customers waiting. There is a gray hair Asian man who does not seem to be doing anything for the customers but walks behind the counter looking like a manager. On the occasion when I waited for 30 minutes and walked out, he was strolling behind the counter not helping the single sandwich maker, then he grabbed some boxes with already made sandwiches and walked out of the store leaving one sandwich maker, one cashier, and 20+ waiting customers. On the most recent occasion, the same man was making a Thai Iced Tea for himself while a ton of customers were waiting. I used to come here once a week, but now it is months between the visits. Was at Vroman's today and decided to drop in here for lunch. I have no idea what this place is. It looks like a chain owned by Vietnamese no different than Subway or Quiznos. So you go in here and it is like a little store in the front with frozen egg rolls, cookies and weird stuff. Then the back half is the deli itself. They have a vast menu of maybe 70 sandwiches which are all about the same. I was getting frustrated looking at all of them - ham and cheese, ham and turkey, ham and turkey with cheese . . . . At least you just give them a number, the unfriendly, slow moving, cashier punches your number into an IPAD and the sandwhich maker right next to her has it pop up on her IPAD. The sandwiches don't come on bread, the come on either a hard baquette or a croissant? Forget about a nice big American sandwhich on wheat. They also push egg rolls? So I figure I'd get 2 on the side. They're everywhere, so they must be good. The cashier pulls them out of the rotisserie like a hot dog, puts two in a paper bag and hands them to me. I asked - you have any sauce and napkins? They sucked and had no flavor. Had some weird white stuff in them and not sure if it was a potato or what. Most of the customers here are Asian so I may not know the sandwhich culture in Vietnam. Place sucks. I got the ham and cheese on a croissant.
