Lees was recommended by my local seamstress for a repair of a sports backpack. It had a big tear and it was fairly new and expensive. Lees repaired it and you can't tell or notice that it had a big tear. Completely satisfied with the outcome. Dropped it off on a Thursday and it was ready for pickup the following Monday (they are closed Friday/Saturday/Sunday). I received a reminder text that it was ready for pick up, which I appreciated. I've been here a few times for mostly repairs to purse straps. This time I needed a couple leather straps to "strap down" the ends of straps on my shoulder straps. They were flapping around, curling & just looked a bit...untidy? Anyway, found leather pieces on line which closely matched the color of my purse. Needed to pay first, which I get. People never come back or have forgotten items repaired? Which was fine. $12. Works for me. Left the removable shoulder strap with the purchased straps & they came out really well. Yeah, it was just a couple stitches, but how would I have sewn through leather otherwise? Not going to happen with my singer sewing machine. They were about 3 years old and I never found a place until one day I left Children's Orchard's and found this in the plaza. I went to the window and showed my shoe to the gentleman. I took my Kobe shoes because one of the shoes came apart. I asked the guy that I wanted it glued back on, he said $25 to glue it back on and wanted the money upfront. I paid him and came back a few days later to pick up the shoes. I put them on and within one hour the shoe came apart again. I took the shoe back and he said no warranty, he even seemed upset and basically kicked me out of his store. avoid this place there are other places close by that offer this type of service. read more

I really hate to leave negative reviews on any business. Especially ones that are operated by just a couple of humble people. However, I must say that I wouldn't even allow my natural instinct (to have compassion for shop owners like this) to draw me to return to the shop (even if they offered to fix my shoes). I believe that if I did return, the likelihood that my shoes would be damaged even further would be too high. I dropped my shoes off to have new soles put on and to be "parade dress super shine" polished. I worked directly with Peter. I paid upfront for the services and was told to come back in seven days. Upon my return I was told that the shoes were not ready and I would need to come back the next day even though I had specifically asked for assurance that the original time "would be accurate as I had a heavy schedule due to the holidays. Upon my return to collect my shoes the next day, I was absolutely heartbroken to see what was presented to me. The shoes were not polished at all and the replacement sole appeared that it was trimmed to fit by using someone's teeth. There was an indication that some sort of polishing was attempted as I saw some streaking on the toe of the shoe that indicated some sort of liquid polish brush was used on them. I asked if they had polished them. With a lot of negative attitude, they said "yes, but you did not pay for us to do that." I showed them clearly on the receipt that I had paid for the service but their computer system said otherwise. Rather than leaving my shoes with them I decided to take them home and polish them myself. As you can see by the images that I'm providing here, the soles are improperly trimmed and finished. There are inconsistent thicknesses around the welting. Not only that, but there are cuts into the sides of the new sole and there are also razor cuts on to the welt of my shoes. When I look down at my feet I can see additional material of the soul that shows that they did not pay attention to matching the construction to the shoes equally. Even the sole height is inconsistent and I can feel additional material on the left toe area when I walk. I'm so frustrated. Don't let this happen to you read more

Located in a stand alone booth in a parking lot on Ball and Walker in Cypress. Inside you will find the Santa of shoes and his tiny workshop. You can walk up or drive up. The man inside is super duper friendly. I like him. And he likes my dog. So brownie points for him. So the Mister brought a pair here to have cleaned and repaired, which he forgot about. Till he saw the receipt in his wallet. I'm like you should of just bought another pair. $32.00 to clean and repair a pair of shoes I bought on sale for about that price. When I picked them up his shoes were good as new. I guess it is pricey because he had them cleaned and replaced the soles. Everything adds up. But they looked great. They do a good job here. Just super expensive. They fix shoes, purses, luggage, zippers, ect. Usually takes about 7-10 days and you pay up front. Try not to lose the ticket slip. I am a fan. I sent in three sneakers I needed cleaned and have previously got them cleaned at other places before and have been very pleased with the results. However the place I normally went to closed down so had to go here and the results could not have been any worst for a shoe "repair" place as all they did was damage my shoes even more. I have always been driving by this little shop, but until recently I didnt need any shoes repaired. I brought a pair of leather men's shoes for a sole replacement around the holidays and they were ready in one week. The final work is amazing and the shoes look brand new again. These shoes are handmade with leather interior and exterior so I really wanted them to be saved with the sole replacement. Mr. Lee is extremely kind and respectful and honest. First, just to show this is not a phony rating, my hiking boots took a week longer than expected because the supplier did not ship the new soles when they said they would. Not Mr. Lee's fault, but there it is. Now for the good stuff -- Mr. Lee took my favorite pair of Asolo hiking boots (very expensive when new) and gave them a new life. Not only did he replace the worn out sole with a new Vibram sole, but he was also able to replace the broken eyelets by sewing in some new ones. And he cleaned and polished the boots, which was not part of the deal but he did it anyway. All this work was not cheap (over $80), but far cheaper than a new pair of boots. And I don't have to break in a new pair! Mr. Lee is a backpacker, by the way, so he really understands hiking boots. read more

Recently dropped off a pair of jeans after I recommended to come the button that had fallen off fixed! I was told to leave the jeans and that the wonder would call with a quote. I got a call the next day that with the original button it would be $15 to repair and with one of theirs it would be $10. I went with one of theirs. Picked up the jeans a week later and am happy with the results. Even got an extra button and my original which I really appreciate it! This place is an absolute rip off! I took a pair of sandals in to have a buckle replaced. They made me pay in advance, which was fine and gave me a ticket to come back on a certain date and time. When I went back, they hadn't even been worked on. So I had to go out of my way to return again. When i went back they had a difficult time finding my sandals in that tiny shop. Perhaps if it was t so message they could have found them easier. The work was extremely sloppy, they are way overpriced, there is absolutely no customer service and they are rude! When I dropped off my sandals I also asked how much they would charge to stretch a pair of boots. (They were a bit too narrow). He said 20.00. $20.00 to put a stretcher in boots?? They will never get my business again. I'll find another shoe shop that has a better work ethic and actually does a good job compared to this joke of a place. read more

I dropped off some expensive Calvin Klein shoes here the other day. The soles had gotten a little thin and Peter Lee, the owner showed me some re-sole blanks he promised would work perfectly. I paid in advance, was given a ticket, and was told to return in a week. When I picked them up, I was shocked to see the pathetic, misshapen job they did! The guy who "fixed" them must have been cross-eyed, because the new soles were completely out of alignment. It says right in the window of the shop that they have a 90 day warranty, so I asked for either my money back, or for them to fix them. The coward I was talking to refused to do either, basically daring me to do anything about it. These people are crooks, crappy "craftsmen", and don't stand behind their work. Took some cordovan oxfords here for a polish. Lee noticed a lace as bad. No problem please take care. Come back in 3 days (Thursday). $10 for polish and $4 for the lace. Polish was mediocre at best. The lace was brown the original was black. Now I have a black and brown lace. So much for convenience (my office is nearby), I will take the time to go to Shoe Dr in Long Beach. They are reliable and do excellent work. They even polish my shoes while I wait and they are less expensive that Lee. read more

I came here upon a recommendation from my brother, and I'd have to say that everybody else's reviews are spot on. Mr. Lee, or John I believe, not only helped us fix my mother-in-law's shoes, but he did it in a quick and timely manner. I believe we had given the shoes to him 3 days before Christmas, and he said he'd have it done on Christmas day! I felt bad for the guy and told him he shouldn't rush it, and that he should enjoy the holidays. He simply smiled and said that he'd have it ready by Christmas, but we could pick it up whenever. So awesome. When we picked up the shoes, they looked great. Just what we needed, and for 4 pairs of shoes that required a step-up in each, he only charged $75. That is a total bargain! Other people were quoting much higher, and was doing it another way, the wrong way. Anyway, I don't have anything negative to say about this guy except that I wish he was here in Michigan! Then I wouldn't have to travel so far to get shoes repaired! Next time I'm back in CA visiting family, I will bring some of my own shoes to get reworked. FYI, his shop isn't a physical storet, but a booth in the northeast side of the plaza on Walker (heading south on Walker), so keep your eyes peeled out. Highly recommend! read more
