I had seen good reviews online so I decided to take two pairs of Yves Saint Laurent boots there to get re-soled. I took them there like the 21st. I was told to come back today the 26th in the afternoon... Well friends, I walked in there and the place looked like a bomb had gone off. Everything was in trash bags and there was a garbage hauler out front. They were going to close down the shop and take everybody's shoes So I told them I'm not leaving until you find my boots. One pair was found pretty quickly and she kept trying to get me to come back the next day and I said no, you won't be here. And I literally waited an hour until he found my second pair of boots . They were half fixed, and the craftsmanship was horrible. I'm gonna have to take them somewhere else to get fixed, but I'm just so grateful to have my shoes back because they are so expensive. On one hand, I feel really badly for these people because clearly they're on very hard times on the other hand, you can't do this. You can't just close your business and leave a bunch of people stranded . I feel sorry for everyone who's gonna lose belongings they care about.

He told me I came in on a Sunday when they're closed, but he's there so he helped me. I stopped by as a new customer, saw the door wide open and people inside. I approached the counter with my shoes and he offered service. He only said he was closed once I had paid for the repairs he was going to do. He is good about making recommendations to not repair if he doesn't deem it worth the cost. It wasn't my favorite spot and I won't return, but maybe you'll have better luck.

On these cheaply made (but expensive) shoes there is a plastic strip all along the top outside of the shoe. It's made to look like stitching. Anyway, this was coming off. I liked the initial job enough to bring a second pair of shoes to Mill's a week later. Well, 1 month later both pair of shoes fell apart again. I went back with a pair and he accepted no responsibility. I asked him to just glue them back together and he sold me a tube of Barge glue. Sigh. At home, I discovered that he didn't put enough glue on the shoe. There was only a thin line of glue on the shoe parts. Definitely not enough to keep the shoe together. Presumably he didn't want any of the glue to show on the outside, but really all you have to do is use a microfiber cloth to wipe away any excess. There's really no excuse not to do a quality job. Unfortunately, cash only. Mill's does not accept credit cards. I gave 1 extra star because the new soles have not fallen off yet. That said, I recommend you find a different place to repair your shoes.

The price was a bit higher than I expected;however, the fact they are professional and have a trade that is not that common these days, I went ahead to the getting the repairs. To be fair it was only needed on 1 shoe. But time would tell before the other needed to be done. So did both for $30. A fair price. Note, I also always support local small business and sustainability. So when I got them back...Very pleased. They replaced both shoe buckles and used a thick stretch band. I reach out one week later to ask if they are ready and he tells me they aren't but that they will be ready 12/3. I was busy the week of 12/3 so I reach out on 12/8 to see if I can pick them up and he tells me they still aren't ready because his cobbler has been busy. I ask him to please have them ready by 12/12 and when I pick them up today they aren't exactly what I asked for. I made it SUPER clear when I dropped them off that I did not want the vibram covering any of the sizing numbers and you can clearly see the entire first row is covered and it's not even a straight cut on the right shoe. I also asked him to sole the entire heel and he didn't even touch it. The heels are the exact same as when I dropped them off. So I waited almost a month to not even get what I paid for.

I have a big foot and wide one at that. Somehow as I've gotten older my feet need more attention. I was in so much pain well walking that it was truly exhausting me after I work a 10 hour shift. So Lucy mentioned to ask for Vanessa. I made an appointment she was available certain times and days. Vanessa helped me get my personalized mold of my feet for my insoles. She also looked at my soles I was currently using and tweaked them a bit so I would not be in so much pain well walking. Vanessa was patient with me well I explained my issues and she had answers for everything I asked. Also on my very first visit Spencer assisted me in finding a new shoe to wear size 9 4 E. He brought me two pairs of shoes to try on and I loved my second pair he brought out. Brooks very roomy wide shoe. I ended up walking out with them on. Paid of course! The experience I had both times was amazing... the attentiveness was awesome I felt I was the only person in the store. Sitting down waiting on Spencer to bring out shoes. There were so many customers coming in and out of the shoe store I knew I was in the right place. I am just waiting on my insoles to be completed and will pick them up in a month.
