This place is just awful! Was in the area, so my friends and I stopped for breakfast. Where do I even begin? First off, the waitress was sloppy/dirlty looking. Seeing her in this condition did not entice our appetites! Second, two of us ordered pancakes. The pancakes were so thick and dry the fake maple syrup was soaked up like a sponge! They were HORRIBLE!!! Third, the sausage was also quite disgusting- greasy and filled with fat. Fourth, the sloppy waitress had an attitude. I actually told her maybe she should look into another line of work. Fifth, the pork roll was sooooo thick....GROSS!!! Greasy and super thick. My friend actually gagged when she tried to eat it. Sixth, the so-called "manager" was a nasty old man who argued that the food was good. The lady behind me in line patted me on the back and said she wished she had the nerve to speak up about the awful food. This place is a step up from a truck stop. Average prices, food, and service. The experience was as expected for a diner experience. Our party experienced a few hiccups which we hope will be redeemed in a future experience. At first our waitress seemed stressed/irritated and short tempered because we had literally just been seated and not had an opportunity to open our menus to even know what kinds of drinks were offered. (Please note we have someone in our party who has significant dietary restrictions.) She seemed to soften a bit as the time went on. One person in our party got wings off the salad bar which had feather roots still intact, indicating poor quality control. The rest of the soup/salad bar was fresh and well stocked. The facility was clean that we could see, with the exception of one of the individuals in our party received a menu that the pages literally stuck together and she had to peel them apart. (Thank God for hand sanitizer.) While the experience wasn't bad altogether, it didn't inspire us to become repeat customers either. It was just average. Perhaps we will return in the future and hopefully we'll have an opportunity to increase the stars in that future review. read more

Really nice building, I love the entrance with the glass and the tiled walls. The service was really friendly and attentive. The food was underwhelming. Pancakes did not taste fresh, the hash browns were cold and the scrambled eggs were overcooked. Will probably give them another chance because the service was good. read more

Wife and I stopped here on a whim on a Saturday night. Everything was fantastic from start to finish. Hostess was waiting for us as we came in the front door and she gave us a friendly greeting. Waitress was friendly and on her game. Wife ordered seafood platter with salad bar. Salad bar had shrimp which was delicious and everything was fresh. I had a turkey club which also was delicious and fresh. On our way out, we were admiring the desserts and the friendly hostess encouraged us to buy which also did not disappoint!!! Passed this place many times, finally decided to try it. It offers a classy diner experience with exceptional service. The menu selection is extensive and both specials we tried were very good with enough food for a second meal at home. They offer a salad/soup bar that is easily the best in the area. My family and I enjoyed lunch here while celebrating a family member's birthday. MADDIE, our server, was especially helpful and attentive. The diner looked clean and organized. The menu was well designed and offered many delicious looking options. I ordered classic Mac and cheese and it came with soup and salad. I got the lobster bisque soup, took one spoonful, and couldn't eat anymore. Lobster? I don't think there was any in it. The soup was pasty and unappetizing. The salad, although fresh, was disappointing. There weren't enough veggies offered. My macaroni and cheese was pretty tasteless and I'm not one to turn down Mac and cheese. All I can say is change your oil. My goodness shiny chrome and blue lights may add to the ambiance but the rancid oil can be tasted and leaves odor to clothing...lets just say the so called ambiance doesn't help mask the rancid oil. Service is superficial. read more

Wow, everything was very good. Family friendly and affordable! We stopped here on our way home from Cabela's. The staff were so kind to our kids and our family really enjoyed their food. They have huge portions and ice cream was included in their kids meals. We are planning another trip out with the whole family. We loved that they had huge portions as well. read more

My daughter and I ate here. Salad bar and dessert display looked excellent, though my meal didn't happen to include either. Fries very fresh and crisp, sandwich hot and tasted good. Today we stopped and had lunch at the Leesport diner we stumbled across this hidden Jim as we were driving into a Walgreens located within 15 miles! Our server today her name was Tina did an amazing job. Her boss should hire at least 10 more of her! I would highly recommend for any meal I give them five stars. The food was decent. Nothing particularly exciting or special about our dishes. Pretty sure they scoop your soup from the salad bar buffet. Had added Cole slaw to my meal but never got it. Probably would have also come from the buffet so that's ok. Service was decent. Restaurant was clean. Was totally put off though when I asked if I could have a cup to take the rest of my unsweetened iced tea. I was informed they charge 99 cents each for a cup. I hadn't even had a refill. Your average diner food. We've only go when we aren't in the mood to go anywhere far. The male management treats staff horribly. The poor servers put up with a lot of unnecessary treatment. Everytime we have been there we have witnessed poor treatment of wait staff. If we go we tip well and let our server know they are very much appreciated. read more

This place was great! The service was superb. Love the decor and layout. The food was beyond great. We got this pulled pork potato appetizer thing that was huge and delicious. Salad bar was good and full of fresh choices. Our entrees were big and very tasty. And desert...omg. I got this cappuccino cup thing and it was divine. Only thing bad I can say is that we live so far away from this place so we don't get there very often. But next time we are in the area, we know where we are eating. read more

Stopped in the Leesport Diner had a waitress named Emma. She was very nice, friendly, and an excellent server. She brought us our coffee and took our order right away. While eating, she was very attentive, making sure our coffee cup was full and did we need anything. When we go back, I would like to have her as my waitress again! Food was good but awesome service! It's a diner and it's diner food. That being said, the service was fantastic. The Grand Slam breakfast was amazing. DH loved the pancakes and his eggs were cooked to perfection. I had the Farm House salad. The chicken was juicy and nicely crisped/browned. Maybe there were a few too many craisins, but you don't have to eat them all. We didn't have any of the desserts but they look delicious! I don't think you can go wrong if you're looking for a good meal with nice portions and without a lot of fuss. read more

My husband and I feel that the Leesport Diner was the best in Berks County, best service and good food, until today. We both ordered an entree with a side and a cup of soup. We ate half of our soup but wanted to save room for our meals. We asked the waitress is we could take our soup home. The management told her we could not take it home which we accepted. From this point, my vision of the diner changed. In addition during our visit, all staff was cleaning, standing on seats, spraying cleaning liquids above where food is set out to be delivered to tables( safety and sanitary issues). Bathrooms floors were also soaked and a fall hazard with no wet floor signs. From this point of asking to take our soup home, the owner and his flunkie watched us constantly, including circling our table over and over , I would assume to see if we will find a way to take the soup home. When we asked for boxes for our meals, the owner was very vigilant to ensure we are not packing up the soup even though they will be discarding our leftovers . This was very disturbing to me. The owner lost our business, I will not return, not due to the quality of the service or quality of the food but the lack of respect the owner showed us worried about $.50 cost of the soup that was thrown away. read more

Absolutely horrid. Food was disgusting! Onions were rancid on patty melt, making the whole thing smell like old fish. Mystery meat for pot roast was spit outta with first bite. Returned meals, and owner started yelling at us, even though we came up to,pay for salad bar and drinks. He forced us to pay for the meals we sent back and called us liars, that we had not even tasted the food! (Why would you go out to dinner, order meals, wait for the meals, then Send them back without tasting them?). He loudly berated us and got into an argument with us about the food in front of an entire restaurant of people. We said" we are good customers of yours... why are you treating us like this?" He was so incensed that we did not like his food that he didn't care about us as his customers! Well I guess he wins! We paid for the disgusting mess, and will never go back, so he doesn't have to worry about us ever sending rancid, unappealing food back to his kitchen again! Wow. Since my last review I have not been here very often. I heard that management has been rude to the staff and personally decided not to patronize for awhile. Today was the second time in about 6 months that I have been here. Food was great like it always is. Service is great like it always is. For those reasons I could give this place 3 1/2 -4 stars. The reason this place is now crossed off my list and what should be zero stars is this: As I am waiting in line to pay I overheard the manager berate a server because "this food has been in the window since I got here"! I'm not sure if everyone can understand what is wrong with that statement, but I think of at least 3 reasons. 1. Why didn't he approach her politely on the floor and tell her she had food waiting? (She was very busy with other tables) 2. Why did he let it sit there to get cold? 3. Why didn't he deliver it? It must be beneath him to get that fancy dress shirt messed up to take care of the customer! My biggest pet peve in any management role is that the manager can't lower him/her self to do the same jobs as those below him/her! If you want to be respected by your employees, get your hands dirty every once in awhile when you see them struggling or in need of help. Don't just sit behind your desk or in this case your host stand and watch them struggle and then yell at them for it! This server wasn't dragging her feet and wasn't standing around chit chatting, she was busting it...for what? For who? I certainly wouldn't do it for that ungrateful boss! read more

It had blue cheese on the salad, mind you I'm allergic to blue cheese, told the waitress and she took the salad to the back the manager came out with the salad. He said it's not blue cheese asked my friend to taste my friend stated it's blue cheese, the manager kept saying it's not blue cheese and dumped the little bowl he brought out on my salad and still excepted us to pay the full amount. I have been to the new renovated diner a few times. I really like that the diner is so clean. Service had always been very friendly. Every time I had the salad bar it was always fresh and well stocked. The salad bar usually has two soups to choose and also hot wings. The menu is large and they do offer a page or two of specials. Finally, stopping at Leesport Diner. They've been here for awhile. Might've eaten here once before, before I started Yelping. Very busy diner, right on a major artery here in our little town. Which begs the question "Is it so busy here because of its location or because the food is good?". I'm inclined to say 'both'. Nice, shiny, inviting exterior. When you come in, you're greeted by a host dressed in a tie. All of the management are also in ties. The kitchen staff seem to have their own uniforms. The place is clean. The people here are nice (even on this rainy day). Very nice ambience... A good buzz right now. Behind me right now and also in front of me management is actually cleaning tables because there are guests waiting. Cleaning the floor underneath the tables. This is unheard of, especially at a diner. Servers/Bussers are both pleasant and professional. EVERYONE is working! I love it! Okay onto the FOOD: I ordered the Crabby Benedict & a side of corned-beef hash and my wife ordered stuffed pumpkin pancakes. The crabby they use seems to be a mix of jumbo lump and claw meat. The hollandaise sauce was tasty. The eggs were poached perfectly. The hashbrowns were crispy and the corned-beef hash had lots of flavor and seasoned nicely. The stuffed pumpkin pancakes were giant, light, moist and stuffed with whipped cream cheese. Yum! My wife so graciously shared them with me. In summary, at least today, this diner is on point. 4 1/2 stars. Looks like we found a new diner! Definitely recommend! Sorry, no pictures to add because I started eating too quickly!! lol read more
